I'll be willing to bet most of the tunneling is because your survivor group did like 3 gens in the first chase.

I tend to not tunnel people as I get more points if they run off and heal because if I put them on the hook in the first place, I will catch them again and hit them twice to gain even more... After my P3-50 Spirit gains all level 3 perks (already have all perks available), I will no longer need points and will try and gain rank. I also need more practice finding people than standing there and waiting for someone to come to me that may actually never arrive (too climb the ladder).

However... this is why "garbage" killers, as OP put it... "tunnel"...

Everyone... be serious here... you are the killer... stay with me... someone is rescued from the hook... stay... with... me...

You must hit one of those people a single (one) time to down them... the other, twice (two).

Which do you pick because you need to put people down fast to delay generator repair?

If the player answering the question is a survivor main that never played killer, the answer is TWO!
If the player is neutral, while they play survivor, the answer is two, but while they play killer, it is one.
If the player is a killer main, the obvious choice is one... why make the game twice as difficult as it already is?!?

All players, if wanting to "win", would pick "one". It is ridiculous to even suggest anything else.

With a voice com using SWF, anything other than answering one is basically an automatic derank... but killers have no idea if it is a "PUG" or a well coordinated SWF Rank 2 with 3X rank 15 bodyguards. Those garbage killers need to tunnel to fight garbage survivors. The easiest way to ensure a fighting chance with wild unknowns is tunnel everyone. Enough said. :)

Get real people. Get real. LOL! :)

As a side note: If I had the choice between killing strictly PUG or SWF, I would still go SWF as it is the most interesting and challenging... and if that option existed, hook me up with more BP if I pick SWF! (hint hint).

But if the group hasn't done a single gen you can afford to go after the "two hit" guy. I have no problem doing that I will even let the injured guy run past me without hitting them if that's the case. But most of the time, groups rush through gens which means I'm forced to go after the injured guy if I want to keep up.

Killers that outright for the injured guy with 5 gens and Ruin still up are the trash killers because they have no reason to do it.

If a killer is trash using his brain and choosing the obviously better strategy, then yes they are trash killers

At least in low ranks like me. When I get teabagged, I hook them and face camp them and nod my head. Then I swing at them to let them know who's boss. If you don't like it then you shouldnt have teabagged.

However, I started noticing that even though I did so and only expected that one kill, I would still get 3 or more kills due to altruist zealotry. So I go Trapper, began adding Insidious, NOED and M&A, then I plant 3 traps around hooked victim and hide nearbye.

This last game I downed 3 people and stacked there bodies on top of each other. lol Then I let them bleed out while I set more traps over and over simply for more BP.

I'm gonna camp all the time and if you dont like it that's too bad. Maybe you should try doing gen's. lol

yeah, camping ruins your rank so, its not a strat if your losing the one thing you need, once survivors notice your camping they should leave you unless your a rank 20, if you are, you better hope you dont play console or else your gonna have a bad time

Who cares about rank? It's the last thing you need in this game
  • Mochan said:

    That's Garbage.

Rank measures your skill at completing game objectives. How long you play or how little you play has nothing to do with it.

Someone who plays a lot but misses objectives a lot will not pip. A lot. Someone who plays little but does objectives properly will pip.

You sound like a guy stuck at Rank 15 who thinks he's good enough to be at RAnk 1, but can't because reasons. Here's the hard truth: you are stuck at Rank 15 because you are not good enough to be at Rank 1. You cant play the game good enough and accomplish your objectives consistently to rank up. This is a fact.

Stop complaining about it thinking you're hot stuff, when you should be practicing, learning and trying to get better instead of blaming your inadequacies on the system.

And for the record, I'm a Rank 14 Survivor. I realize that I am not good enough to be Rank 1. I don't complain that Killers are too Powerful. (I think they are, but more than that I think that I just suck at the game and could improve a lot more.).

Please explain me how it's possible that I pip with zero kills then. Or how about and Dwight hiding all game in locker but still not depiping?

I would really like to be able to spectate a good killer's gameplay to learn more about the game. But I realize this raises concerns that the survivor will spy on the killer and report his every movement on the SWF Comm. What is a way to fix this, other than recommending I log on to some Killer's Twitch feed?

I would very much like the ability to watch the killer who killed me after I die.

Maybe once we will be able to save replays that we can rewatch later. However there is no way such a mechanic can be implemented in a live game

First: doesn't happen every game. Every killer pretending this is common is delusional.
Second: doctor let Laurie take him for a loop. That's his mistake.
Third: Just because some popular streamer (I don't know who this is) gets wrecked it doesn't mean the other side is OP. Streamers are so annoying because they poison the minds of the community, but they are also good because at least they help grow the game. Still, stop letting streamers brainwash you.
Fourth: There is no best player in the world. Everyone makes mistakes. There's a killer or a group of survivors out there who will outplay you. And it happens. There is also a good element of luck and randomness in this game as well, it's not 100% skill. When the perfect storm happens, a super genrush can occur. That is both the killer's fault for making mistakes, a pat on the back for the survivors for doing exactly what needed to be done, and luck in how things turned out.
Fifth: If survivors are really OP at the highest levels, who the hell cares. Survivors at the lower ranks aren't playing as good as that. This is just how the game is right now. Deal with it.

Lastly, if these threads are getting closed then there's some censorship going on, boo on that to the moderators.

    I love this argument.
It's balanced because it doesn't happen every game lul

why do you see that as a punishment for killers? It is still borrowed time the only difference not the rescuers but you had to run it to activate it.

The difference here being the survivors then will just assume you have it and farm you anyway.

It's a perk that encourages poor choices from the survivors.

If the killer is camping the team should be doing gens not swarming the hook trying to unhook under the killers nose.

Everyone has been camped and yes it sucks but it's the killer prerogative to do so.

Same as survivors that bully the killer it's horrible to play against but they have every right to do it.

Putting in more crutch perks to reinforce poor play is a bad move.

    • Borrowed time (Revert the deep wounds change)
    • HEX perks (Why are these a thing seriously, did you forget its 1v4 people?)
    • SWF (Limit to two survivors)

Deranking is fixed quite easily by making more viable killers, if streamers REALLY don't want to go against nurse and hillbilly, then make more than 2 viable killers. In addition to this STOP MAKING KILLERS ON YOUR PERCEIVED SUBJECTIVE VIEW OF FUN!

    • Most of this seems pretty on the nose, for the Hex Totems though they are gonna fix them in the next patch.
    • for SWF groups if you want to go with a full SWF group get a 5th friend to play the killer would also be an option.

I do fully agree with the more viable killers, this game is a 1vs4 and Survivors should work together more but a lot of their perks give them way to much utility to badger a killer in solo style, that is just to unrealistic. BHVR seems to afraid to actually make a stronger killer system because they will scare away all the survivors if they do (but that would be a sulotion for the survivor queues that are now skyrocketing becasue no one really likes to play killers agains the SWF groups). And when they reply to question about it they give an answer like "We design killers to be fun, not poweful." tell me again how fun it is to play a killer that gets run ragged for 20m because he has no killing power what so ever?

    You misunderstood something here.

Last night I ran into a depipping killer twice. He didn't offer anything or use any add-ons. He would wait until the game loaded in then quit immediately to depip by 2 pips. Made us lose our offerings both times. The first time he was around rank 3, the second time he was at rank 6 meaning he did it many times. This is unacceptable. I reported him but this is Xbox so IDK what will happen if anything. If you're gonna do that at least have the courtesy to message the survivors so we know not to use offerings (or leave if we don't want the free 5k BP).

We are not supposed to report DCing. There is an automatic system that will trigger if the DC rate exceeds an absurdly high rate. Certain fogstreamers have proved already that its ok to dernak by DCing in order to hover at certain ranks.

Oh and just a note, you will get punished for falsefy reporting too

    @se05239 said:
Keep dreaming, dude. No competitive mode will ever happen because it'd inconvenience survivors relying on SWFs for easy wins.

In the current balance state, such a separation would probably kill the game. First, the game needs to be balanced around voice comms (+ingame voice comms), but unforunately BHVR doesnt have the balls to do that

I've suggested built in proximity chat on here before but everyone goes insane disagreeing with the idea. It's definitely not as strong as swf voice comms but at least survivors will have no one to blame but themselves for not working as a team. Though some killers like trapper will get hit pretty hard by this.

No proximity chat, we need global teamchat for survivors, otherwise TS/discord will still be superior and thats what the game has to be balanced around

I mean just implementing chat into the game won't fix the balance. There are enough people who don't want to chat while playing survivor solo and get yelled at by some salty kids.

If you dotn want the advantage of chatting, thats fine, but dont deny the possibility for everyone else.
Fact is that voice comms are part of the game now and the game needs to be balanced aroudn them

I don't want a game balanced around something the majority of players won't use.

The majority of players already plays SWF, just fyi

yeah but they play with friends, not with strangers. I wouldn't want to chat with strangers.

You just said "I don't want a game balanced around something the majority of players won't use."
But fact ist that most of the players are using voice comms already, having an advantage over killers.

Yet, as far as I understood you, you want to keep the game balanced around solo play because you are a bit "socially awkward" even though you are the minority

Oh and btw, ofc there will be a mute button. You wont be forced talkign to strangers

I'm saying that there are enough people who don't want to communicate with strangers, simple as that. If your solution is to add voice comm to the game, and then buff most killers to the level of swf survivors, then watch all the solo survivor players leave this game because they don't want to chat with some salty strangers, yet if they don't use voice comms, will have a serious pr disadvantage and also put the rest of their team into a disadvantage. That's not going to work.
I wouldn't mind if voice chat was added to the game, but the game's biggest balance gaps between solo and swf survivors need to be adressed with ingame built in abilities for survivors that help solo survivors but not swf survivors. Aura reading abilities like kindred Tier 3 come to mind.

But its ok for killers to verse SWF while the game is being balanced around no voice comms. Guess they will have to suck it up eh?

Uhmm, I said they need to close the gap between swf and solo with aura reading abilities and other ingame abilities for survivors, and then killers can be balanced around swf more appropriately. Or did you just skip that part? And it really isn't that bad honestly.

Voice comm provide a much greater advantage than you think, what are the devs supposed to do? Light up all survivor auras permanently? And even then, communication is still stronger

It still better than forcing all solo survivors to use voice comms. I'm sure of that.

Nobod will force you to use the voice comms, I already said this. Of course you will be able to mute if you dont like talking to other people

Yes, but my point is if the devs were to balance killers around swf survivors, those solo survivors that wouldn't want to use voice chat would be quite screwed.

So just to summarize, am I understanding this correclty.

Voice comms are already used in a large majority of games due to SWF.
Now you say that implementing voice comms would screw over solo survivor (being a minority) that dont want to use voice comms.

So the killer has to deal with the unbalance of voice comms just that a minority of the minority of survivors gets their way?

Nah your right, better screw over the killers

Dear lord. There are enough solo survivors that wouldn't want to play with voice comms. I don't think it's fair to add voice comms, then buff most of the killers and just screw over the solo survivors who don't want to use voice comm. Killer don't have it that bad against swf groups, just the very weak ones if anything.
Also, I have repeatedly said that we need to close the gap between solo and swf in a different way, by giving survivors ingame abilities to their base kit that swf survivors have via voice comm. Are you skipping that part everytime? Sure you couldn't close the balance gap totally that way, but at least make it much smaller.
And then, if they've done enough, they can add voice comms in as well.

So its ok if the killer has to struggle with the unbalance of SWF, but dear lord. God prevent that the survivors might feel such a disadvantage if they dont want to participate in communication. How about you take your own advice and git gud in this scenario?

The gap between swf and solo can only be closed via ingame voice comms, there is no way around that.
Even if you would light on all survivor auras such taht they can see each other at any time, it would still not compensate for voice comms which enable the team to do a lot more beyond that.

So your suggestion is that it's time for solo survivors to struggle with the game's inbalance, no I'm sorry but that's not how a game is supposed to be balanced. I'll agree that gen rush in particular can be a problem in the game and is something the devs will hopefully address soon, but if you think the devs will add voice comms and then buff all killers to the level of swf survivors, then I'm sorry but I highly doubt that BHVR will do that.

No thats not what I said.
Solo survivors that refuse to use ingame voice comms, those are the ones that can struggle.
It cant be real that killers have to deal with a disadvantage in every game and have no possibility to do sth about that just because guys like you dont like the idea of talkign to strangers.

Its the same as in overwatch csgo or similar games, if you refuse talking with your team, then you will never be able to get into the highest ranks. Thats ok, not everybody is playing competitively but dont ruin the experience of everyone else

I still think it would be a too large part of the community affected by this. It just doesn't fit into the game to be forced to use voice comms in order to play competitively. Especially since voice comms only affects one side, the survivor side, unlike in Overwatch or CSGO. I fear longer killer queue times if the game is balanced in that direction.

How has that anything to do with voice comms being only on one side?
    Fearing long killer queues, aha

I never have this issue as survivor, maybe 2-3 dodges max. But as killer I tend to get lobby after lobby of 1-2 players with red ping and have to dodge the whole lobby since I can't just kick individual players. Played through it instead and had a claudette who lagged so hard my interactions wouldnt even work with her (couldnt pick her up after i downed her and when i finally did, it wouldnt give me the hook prompt.) Then again pretty much everytime I play killer its a miserable experience.

If a survivor laggswitches, then he can actually render you completely useless since you are not able to hook him. This way they can wiggle out 100%. Ive learned this a month ago and I was quite surprised^^

Because the devs havent implemented it for the game to recognize it. Ps4 does as soon as you plug it in. DBD doesnt respond. DBD would have to put code into the console build to recognize the input.

And yes. An adapter allows it to emulate a controller. Allowing you to play GAMES that do not support kbm simply BECAUSE the ps4 does.

Ehm DBD is a PC game that has been designed for m/k and then has been ported to console.
But maybe you can ask that kinda question for the weekly Q&A

Hex totems are getting an update, so there’s a tiny bit of hope. What are the changes?

They will now spawn much closer to walls and other objects, thus making them more hidden. The spawns themselves don’t change however they will be much more concealed and survivors are more likely to miss it unless they properly check.

Lastly, they will no longer within the survivors line of sight. What that means is when the circle does a 360 at the beginning; the survivor won’t  be able to see the totem.

Hope this makes you feel a tad better about it. It’s not perfect but that’s the way it is

What update, from what I have seen they still spawn at totally obvious locations?
AT the moment it looks like haunted grounds was their "fix" to the totem mechanic. Totems even shine through walls, I mean......

Did the same as Doctor, proud of myself. It started out bad for me, got down to two gens to do, and then they stopped repairing gens to go save their friend. There was only one solo survivor, I had to hook her once and they didn't even bother to save her

That has to be probably one of the worse things with SWF. If you play a top tier killer such as Billy or Nurse SWF cancer can usually be defeated in most cases but unfortunatly if there is a solo player the SWF tends to neglect them as a team mate and gets the short end of the stick.

Thats why I have started dodging certain SWF types as survivor, its sad....

With these criteria I would probably havr to dodge 70% of all lobbies. I understand your reasoning though

@Master Luckily it doesn't happen often where I play. Also interestingly I often see toxic survivors in purple and green ranks rather than in red ranks. 3 and 4 doesn't happen often too. It mostly comes down to ping issues. That one Russian guy (I'm SE-Asian) that refuses to leave your lobby with 300 ping lol.

Surivor almost never ready up in my lobbies.

  • Well the devs said they were looking into secondary objectives.

On the other hand we were told about a DS/hatch/SC rework too for example. Freddy is also still crying in the corner.....

After the depip squad experiment, they have acknoledged the genrush problem and said they know about the balancing issues. Since then, im waiting for their suggestion

  • In any normal game you will be punished severely if you dodge a lobby in a ranked queue.
BUT in other games, you also have a casual mode to play, the ranking system isnt broken, rank actually gives you sth and the matchmaking isnt broken. Oh and I forgot about ping.....

Also, why should there be a punishment for lobby dodging if there isnt even one for ingame DCing?

Dont get me wrong, if BHVR finally fixes all the issues I mentioned above, then of course we need harsher punishment in the ranked mode, just like other games do it. But honestly, I doubt that BHVR will ever go this way

    Dear devs,

Since you nerfed sabotage into oblivion and made numerous addons and items worthless, it would be nice if you removed the restriction on sabotaging basement hooks so that Breakdown can work on them.

    Sincerely,
    A fan of your game

Sabotage has received quite some buffs recently, just fyi

By "quite some buffs" to sabotage, you mean...what, exactly? Saboteur was modified slightly so that it no longer has the efficiency bonus (balanced out by the overall toolbox efficiency increase), further separating it from (and making it worse than) self care in design style and it adds another 30 seconds to sabotaged things. Those don't seem like "quite some buffs" nor would allowing basement hooks be sabotage-able be a buff. I don't see why the argument that is based on the idea of since something has already been tinkered with it needs no further work is feasible.

You forgot to mention that it takes 3 times less time to pick someone up from the floor now

Also you shouldnt forget that slugging gameplayy usually us really boring for the survivors (maybe you like bleeding out, i dont know)

Are you arguing against allowing Breakdown to destroy a respawnable basement hook by saying that slugging is boring? When was the last time that you were slugged because of Sabotage, much less in the basement? Pray tell, why does slugging play into the change I propose?

I have been playing during the sabo meta, so I know every well how it feels when you are slugged every game. Trust me, its not sth you shoudl desire as survivor

As you can see in this official graph, DBD is losing players. There's no point in denying it! So why is that?
First of all there's NOED. This perk literally needs to be changed. Killers can just lose the entire match and then suddenly they 4k, just because they have NOED.

It's pretty clear now. The Devs are killer favoured. Wasn't a 3k enough? Do they literally need to 4k every single game?

At this point, just buff adrenaline. Let it work for every generator that is finished. Survivors can honestly use this, and I can already see the salty killer mains complaining that it's too strong while they 4k every game.

I'm so done with this game. This is gonna be my very last post.

Unfortunately, it seems like BHVR has a similar point of view that those in that regard so I highly doubt they'll ever implement such a mode.

    @se05239 said:

  • I started with claudette because I liked being stealthy etc.
However then all the looping shizzle began and nowadays...... yeah well I didnt bother to P3 other survivors tbh

  • @t3hp0larbear said:

    @Master said:

If thats all you have done, then no. Basically you were holding M1 the whole game

I can agree that simply doing generators and not unhooking/healing people while failing to hide from and outsmart the killer doesn't deserve big rewards, but I really hate this mentality. If you want to distill it down like that, then chases are just holding W down with the occasional flick of the mouse and press of the spacebar. Congrats you can hold W and not fall over. [clap]

Honestly I think the emblem system does a decent job at ensuring that players rank and derank accordingly. Every single game I've played to date with a matchmaking system always has the types who complain about not getting rank ups or being punished because the game told them they weren't as good as they thought, and frankly it's entitlement. People tend to think that any game they don't get completely destroyed in means that the number next to their name should go up and that's not how it's supposed to work.

While playing survivor doesnt inskill great mechanical skill at all, looping is probably the most skillfull as it can get.

I dont believe that the emblem system is in a good state, thats due to it being absurdly easy to reach rank 1 (literally a few days) and even beginners can easily climb into the highest rank which should actually be reserved for the kind of players that live next to their PC, using a pee bottle etc

So i'm facing a sweaty infinite tier 3 myers with ruin and an ebony mori. I was playing solo, they got the ruin quite quickly. He downed someone, then another guy and then he downed me. Only 1 gen was done once he had his infinite instadowns so i thought we were fcked. But i started to play really immersed and we got some gens done, last gen and he got someone with DS. He got off and lost the myers after a short chase, by that time i popped the last gen and the exit gates could open, this was shelter woods and the gates were quite close to each other. Then the killer saw me and immediately started chasing me, i figured if i run away from the doors he will stop chasing me, but no, the killer figured he could mori me and he would have at least 1 kill. I used my Lithe and flew away into the sunset, he lost me so he went to the exit gate. 2 people just got it open on time and just got out. Now my challenge was to reach the opened gate if he left, but then he walked a couple of steps away from the door, and D/C'ed. Ending of the match was so nervewrecking for me so that D/C really made my day.

Please don't play with sweaty builds like that. It's just no fun for anyone, i'm very happy that we completely turned the odds around and escaped.

You say dont run sweaty builds, and yet I see a full item loadout on the survivor side and DS
