That's not really a nerf to SWF though, SWF players don't need bond when they can just communicate and tell the others where they are.

Tru3Lemon is correct. By giving at least kindred to a basekit for all survivors the devs can go harsher steps to nerf survivors in general cuz the gab is closet a little bit more. We need to allow survivor buffs in order to nerf swf. But a lot of hardcore killer mains don't get it.

The only correct step adressing the SWF/solo thing is implementing ingame voice comms.

That would be the worst solution ever.
For the reason why it is stupid AF, look at F13.

Of course the voice comms are only on the survivors side, otherwise it would be absurd

When I go to vault a pallet, the game registers it too slow and the killer hits me. Is this a bug or the fact we don't have dedicated servers? Happens to me a lot. I will hit the button and then .5 seconds later I vault it and I get hit.

    Sounds like you were lagging

  • This is a short reminder of what happened during the time where you could farm BP easier with survivors than killers (In case you havent been playing, the result was 45 min queue times)

Should? Yeah maybe we should stop climate change too.

And even if those killers stopped playing the game, do you really want that? The survivors they usually play with will now be matched with a "killer with balls" and queue time will increase even more.

In the end, its a customer that has payed for the game to have fun with it. Either you punish him for lobbydodging, which is impossible due to the broken matchmaking, ping etc, or you accept that he will play the game until he gets bored.

If someone buys a bag of jelly bears, but he only likes the red ones, then he will pick them out even if it costs him some extra time. He will not simply throw away the whole bag

So by this statement you then also believe survivors should be able to dodge certain killers and add-ons, like the Nurse, mori's, iridescent's etc since they also bought the game to have fun, if not that's a highly hypocritical viewpoint.

Imo It's a terrible idea to allow any of this to happen, it's a game accept it for what it is and If your not having fun then why play at all?

Fact is that survivors ARE ABLE to dodge certain killers moris and iridescents, and they regularly take advantage of that ability

There are so many reasons to dodge a lobby only except the standard "SWF" reason.

I will dodge if i see 3 people on the opposite site dropping into red ping constantly, i don't want to watch a guy
looking like he has sprint burst every 2 seconds.

Right now there is 0 matchmaking related to connection, Yes the killer is the host but he can't choose the location of the survivors he ends up against.

In your opinion should there also be a punishment for ALT+F4 when i juggle a DS? since the survivor wasted the killers time and cost him point? and the quitter bonus is a joke don't even go there  And before anyone says "OMG just report" the report system in this game does nothing, unless you are running gamebreaking hacks i guarantee nothing will happen for you getting reported for Ragequitting.

I personally think the connection issues are far more pressing than a lobby dodge.

Actually reports for ragequitting arent even accepted.
You need to have an absurdly high DC rate (which is automatically detected they say) until you receive punishment.

Yet you are able to Derank by DCing and hover at certain ranks without passing that DC rate, as the fogstreamer jendenise proved to us

Wll this thread shows is a double standard and the devs need to sort it.

It's wrong to dodge on two fronts.

Firstly players are dodging not just for ping but because they do not like something should stop playing, it's a game each and everything in it is fair game, I'd bet eaxh one who dodges would think MLGA is unfair if they got dodged most of their games for how they play.

Secondly it's shooting yourself in the foot as it removes the stats the devs need for balancing, if only the good killer versus these players with toolboxes etc and still do well it shows they are balanced.

Stats are completely pointless as long as the ranking system is broken as it is atm.
Also, the devs are aware of "certain balance problems", at least thats what they said regarding the depip squad experiment, but we are still waiting for the implementation of secondary objectives e.g.

    lul

The exact numbers for both gen regression and gen repair would be up to the devs to figure out.
As for "how does that prevent DCing lul" the devs send someone to their house and force them to play the game (sarcasm). What are you even asking? You can't prevent DCing but if someone does the other survivors could make up for it with increased repair speed.

The lul was directed towards your third suggestion that - no offense - is absurd.
And yes DCing can indeed be prevented. Other games manage to do that aswell. Either you give incentive not to DC (for example a BP bonus rate that increases each game you dont DC) or you punish DCing, for example via an increasing queue time punishment.

First of all you don't seem to understand the original post, try reading it again. It's not 3 suggestions to pick and choose from but 3 changes that would go together making the 3rd point not "absurd" because the killer would handle 4 survivors alive better.

As for the "DCing can be prevented" nonsense GTFO of here. If people rage quit or have bad internet they're gone, doesn't matter what reward or punishments the game has. Maybe you don't play DBD and only watch videos of it but in case you haven't noticed this game isn't balanced for 1v3 and when a survivor leaves early the other survivors are having a rough time.

Explain me, how does it work in other games then? Are they paying players not to DC?

I'm all for the better regression speed on breaking gens (Maybe a general Perk that does this). But the other 2 options seem a little bit unfair, it's not the killers fault there are rage quitters or "accidental" disconnects and the borrowed time perk is already more then adequate to safeguard a survivor getting unhooked.

"Gen Rushing" doesn't exist, it;'s literally the Survivors only job to get the gens done so they can leave.

It's just a term made up by salty killers who want their kills handed to them without having to work for it.

It's these type of players who won't be happy till all Survivors start out hooked with a hook attached to their back in a match of 4 Killers vs 1 Survivor where 3 fake Generators are attached to the Killers backs with one real one. Upon completing that 'real' generator there are no exits, only 3 fake trap doors and 1 real one that spawns on the Killers chest.

You say your skillcheck rewards are balanced, but arent they straight survivor buffs?

My exact words were "There's actually a large number of possible rewards for skillchecks while on hook. Some of them are bound to be balanced." so I didn't straight up claim my own ideas were balanced.

However, while my own ideas are buffs, they're not going to have enormous impact on gameplay. Option 1 allows survivors to save themselves, but it requires previous setup with Saboteur or a toolbox. Option 2 only affects killers that are facecamping or hard patrolling. Option 3 has the most theoretical impact, but it would require a survivor to be on a hook for a significantly long time to have that serious an effect, and if they were on a hook for that long, it would be nice to give them a chance to make up objective points. Option 4 could be distracting, but since killers will know loud noise indicators are possible decoys while on a hook, they have the option to ignore them if they're too far away to investigate quickly.

Also, the flip end of this is the hatch gameplay for survivors. Any possible solution to hatch standoffs is a buff for killers. Saying we shouldn't do anything about hook gameplay because it would buff survivors is the same logic as saying we should do nothing about hatch standoffs because it would buff killers.

Do I need to explain why your ideas have an enormous impact on gameplay?
A surivor able to unhook himself is absurd, this means that noone has to come and help him, giving others more time to do gens.

Then the gen repair speed..... gens already go like lightspeed....

But yeah, lets all implement these ideas and see how the game falls apart. I am at a point where I really wanna see this happen such that the devs have to take desperate counteraction to keep the game alive.

Some players rage against the opponents considered toxic and the bad companions, not only during the trial, but also if they meet them again in future matches: this alters the game, creates a hostile climate and destroys the true competitiveness, which requires the sincere ignorance of the opponent's equipment and strategies, as long as they are not revealed in the course of the game. Therefore, the visibility of the accounts of other players before and during the trial must be banned.

    A simple proposal:
    1) the players' names are obscured at the campfire and during the trial;
    2) the game HUD shows the names of the characters under the icons of the survivors: if two or more players use the same character, they are numbered;
    3) the players' names do not appear in the endgame screen until the trial ends: who wants to see them before loses the right to watch the game as a spectator (otherwise they could write to some survivors or to the killer and give them instructions and advice).

No toxicity, no revenge, because nobody knows anymore who they are playing with or against. Of course, SWF survivors will keep knowing their companions, but that's not a problem: they chose each other, so they like playing together. :)

Well that is basically against the nature of the steam platform

  • You say your skillcheck rewards are balanced, but arent they straight survivor buffs?

Give killers immediate regression when kicking a gen that is stronger for each survivor alive (no more gen rush).

Give survivors a buff to gen repair speed for each survivor dead (no more DC bullsh*t)

Give survivors a built in 10 second borrowed time effect during the "First unhook" (no more tunneling).
    Borrowed time perk would stack.

About how much regression are we talking here.

How big is the repair buff, how does that prevent DCing?

I actually happen to agree with Onionthing. I suck as a survivor, yet all you have to do to rank up is run from the killer for 30 seconds, do a couple of gens, and save a person. Not that hard to do. I can't loop killers very well or 360 them. So as for me, I very much like the green ranks. I am very comfortable there and I still lose a lot. I used to be in the purple ranks and barely escaped at all. However, I still ranked up. Their whole system is absurd. I do not belong in the purple or red ranks. I am not ready for them yet. I am waiting until I can properly loop and 360. Then possibley I will go into those ranks. For now I will continue to depip.

All you do is looking for excuses to not play in Rank 1. You don't "learn how to play in Rank 1" without actually playing there, all you do is boost your skill towards "ready for rank 1" while stomping rank 10.

Getting ready for rank 1 is a process that happens when actually playing there. You might find yourself in the absolute lowest skill bracket of a certain rank and then move your way to the top. In Dead by Daylight there are only 2 meaningful ranks: Rank 1 and Rank 20, the ranks in between just represent the time you've spent so far on your way to Rank 1. In Rank 1 you'll find players of low skill that barely managed to get there (maybe someone like you) and you'll find players that play nothing but Rank 1. Of course there is a HUGE skill gap in between and of course the matchmaking is absolute garbage, I totally agree but what you experience in Rank 1 (people stomping you) is exactly what Rank 1 players do to the players in the Rank 10s by depipping.

I wouldn't say YOU personally are a problem (or anyone else here) because technically what you do is refuse to "git gud". However, the numerous streamers and other players with literally thousands of hours - the already "got gud" ones - that purposely depip to play in low ranks. Those ruin the experience for actually lower experienced players that never even smelled rank 1.

Are there any streamers that actually play in low ranks?

Jendenise (used to?) regularly derank by DCing and stomp low rank killers with her SWF which caused the whole derankign discussion in the forums

I watch her, and she doesn't DC to the low ranks?

I cant tell whether she still does it, but a few months ago she regularly deranked into the green ranks or lower before she started streaming.

My bf is playing right next to me on my laptop. As soon as he presses the button to join a game, he finds one, almost immediately. I’m here on my ps4 sitting on a 15-minute wait

    I totally understand that.
YOu would have to pay me in order to get me playing killer with controller and bad fps

PC, but im really low rank on both roles now since I rarely play anymore.
I stopped playing DBD regularly after the last farming-event, that was a huge turn off for me

Yeah the last farming event did go a bit overboard and while I like to farm during such events throwing yourself at the hook after getting your vial wasn't it. I wanted the killer to get chase points, damage gen, hits etc not just here let me get hooked once and suicide immediately.

Having Legion has definitely spiced things up but then you get P3 omega blink nurses in green ranks and you just facepalm.

funny in the event I the others started working with the killer in few games and I didn't know anyone but we all work to farm that stuff it was pretty fun.:)

While that is cool for a few games to grind the event currency, it gets really annoying when you have finished and just wanna play the real game
