I think it's unfair that majority of feedback from the PTB comes from pc, who are the ones who actually get to test out the new mechanics and characters. People who play the game on console will never get to test out the new content unless they go out and just buy it AGAIN on pc, or just watch others play it on YouTube. The devs need to try and come up with a solution for this so that console players can finally chime in and give their feedback. My fix for this is to have another option on the main menu titled "Public Test Build" (Duh). Making it an option on the main menu can also give pc users faster access to it, so they won't have to constantly go through the properties to get to the betas tab just to play it. After the player selects the Player Test Build option in the menu it will load up like normal except it will have the properties of KYF (Kill your friends) but with regular matchmaking like normal. You will have access to all items, addons, perks, killers, and survivors. You will not gain bloodpoints, iridescent shards, levels, or rank, the same way as if you were playing kill your friends. Turning the PTB into an option on the main menu for both console and pc would be a great move by the devs because they would be making access to the PTB faster, easier, as well as giving access to the rest of the community.
Sadly, I believe this will never happen. Pc will always get to test the new s#!t while the rest of us are constantly being thrown under the bus.
Yes its unfair, but thats the nature of the slow process of doing console builds.
Maybe you can write a polite letter to sony/microsoft to encourage them supporting sth similar.
But honestly, ptb is overrated, queue times are horrible and everyone uses everything because you dont lose stuff. I am a PC player and I never play the PTB anymore, I check some streams to get the info.
Btw, you have to realize that the PTB is a completely different build, basically its like a new game. You cannot simply select ptb in main menu, thats not how it works

Doubt that, nobody would play console if that was true
I think he meant it as a hyperbole. However, Shelter Woods truly ARE terrible on console for killers. 20-25 FPS with dark spaces all over the place. Nurse is almost impossible to play on this map.
Someone got my sarcasm. Shelter Woods is insane on console. Some maps are not much better since 2.0
Guess you can imagine what would happen in a split screen mode then

Gens are already completed too fast.
Giving more incentive to focus on gens is a bad idea as long as devs are too lazy to add secondary objectives / increase gen times -

Well here are my thoughts since the DEV's are almost mindless despite them being the creators of DBD. d-strike hasn't been nerfed, mainly because without it the halloween DLC is trash, I know because I bought and played the game with them. Object of obsession is underated though.I think D-strike should get reworked like borrowed time.
If you are the killer's obsession. Once per match, if you land the skill check you can escape the killer's grasp, and stun them for 3/ 3 and a half/ 4 seconds. Or if you holding an flashlight , you can run over and hit the killer with it, causing him to drop a survivor (tier 3 only and the stun time is 3 seconds). But this will take charges from the item's use, has a chance of loosing any addons, and give you exhaustion for 40 seconds (if you already have exhaustion, it will add more time to it).
BUT
If you are not the killer's obsession, you can only use this perk after filling your wiggle meter 45/40/35%. It will slow down the killer's carrying speed/ stops him in place, for 3/3 /4 seconds.
(D-strike will also be rank based too
from rank 20-15 everyone can use it,
rank 15-10 only 2 people can use it, the obession and one non obsession.
from rank 10-5 only to can use it, but the non obsession who use it, will be unable to heal them selves for 120 seconds.
from rank 5 -1 only the obsession can use it.
Anyone who runs D-strike at the higher up ranks will not get to use it, so they will need to rely on 3 perks for the rest of the match)This seems fair to me, I mean that perk is a learning curb I run it, but I do it because I can and I like having my halloween build. Sole Survivor, Object of Obsession, D-strike, and either Buffed Sprint Burst or Spine Chill. (Self care is over rated)
This is my suggestion for it, personally I think this is fair, but what ever, this is for the DEV's to see not really anyone else.
I also want Dying Light and Sole Survivor reworked.Basing something on rank is completely meaningless as long as rank doesnt mean anything.
Escape the grasp and stun for 4 seconds? sure dude.... -
@jakeb_1993 said:
Firstly, let me start by saying that this isn't a thread moaning about slow vaulting. While I do think a change is needed, this is what it is:If a survivor is running, they have to had run for at least 3 seconds. If they have the next vault they perform is that fastest vault possible. Once the vault is complete they have to run another 3 seconds etc.
But that isn't about this. Its about the mechanics regarding vaulting in the first place. I have discovered more and more that when I get to a vault I have to wait for the vault symbol to appear before I can. Sometimes this appears from sole distance and is perfectly fine, but others it appear right when I am up against the window and lost my speed. The killers already get silly things like being able to hit on the other sides of pallets even when you are on the other side.
My proposal would be a kind of parkour mode, where you hold in my case: R1 and L1 and that in turns allows you to smoothly vault over anything that you approach. At least at this point chases would feel more fun and not getting frustrated at the fact that I can't vault half the time without losing my speed and the getting downed by a killer because they were able to hit me on the other side of the pallet when my feet are on the ground.
Thats what we got in the first time, but it was changed because devs were too able to rework maps and had to nerf window looping for obvious reasons

No killer would opt in. The game would quickly see a sharp decline in survivor players. KYF doesn’t appeal to people because you don’t earn anything and thus can’t level up.
Honestly, you just have to use your best judgment in the lobby and dodge if the team looks shady. That’s all you can really do.
There is a good reason why kyf doesn't grant you any rewards. So why should swf? When there is an unfair advantage.
Yes, because playing with you buddy as killer would allow you to farm points and grief others. SWF doesn't have that problem. That's just a red herring.
Against some SWF you have to verse, I feel indeed being griefed.
But you can always DC I guess? What a great solution.... -

You can, but the prompt is blocked if the destination area is blocked. Fortunately all killers have the ability to swing at survivors and force them away.
Unfortunately it takes ages to wipe the weapon and the wiggle timer is running

When you know the person was speaking from experience and thus wasn't wrong but continue to insult them because you don't like their answer. Based upon my experience I said what had happened to me, that's no different than people talking about things that've happened to them.
By your logic then everytime someone says something on here based upon their experience they're stating it's a game mechanic. Now see how your logic can be used against you in a very valid format? I admitted I was wrong but said i was talking about it happening to me.
Thus my statement was true and in no way did I ever state it was a game mechanic. That would be you and the other person who seems intent on using it to try and insult me.
Game mechanics are constructs of rules or methods designed for interaction with the game state, thus providing gameplay. All games use mechanics; however, theories and styles differ as to their ultimate importance to the game.
Gameplay bug in game mechanics is when something happens with irregularity or regularity thus disrupting the normal gameplay mechanics. Thus creating something that may appear to be a normal gameplay mechanic or something not abnormal.
Just funny when bugs/exploits become gameplay mechanics

Both is trash. I hate that I agree with you. The only thing I can see this tremendously backfiring when trying to combat a tunneler though.
How would that affect tunneling? Not sure what you mean.
Tunneling is choosing your target strategically, that has nothign to do with how hooking works?

If a survivor is standing below the hook, the vacuum will slide you against it, you colide and cant hook.It looks quite unrealistic when you unhook a survivpr from the side aswell, you would basically rip the whole chest apart (unhooking is unrealistic in general btw), so that is hardly an argument

It’s subtle, but you can definitely tell if you’ve seen it enough times. So far I’ve come across only two lag switch users. One Wraith, one Survivor.
I recorded the lag switch Survivor and sent it to BHVR. This was when DBD first came out on console. Was the first two weeks I had the game. They made it extremely obvious they were lag switching.
A survivor cant lag switch? The killer is the host I thought.
I have a video proof of it. I can’t post it due to name and shame rules. I’ll post it on your wall for you to watch.
Is there some other place I can upload a video? I have recorded a match with really extreme lagging.
Extreme lagging is not laggswitching
And yes, you can upload the video to youtube and then post that link into the report screen

If a survivors finds a flashlight from a chest, well you gotta remvoe him from the game

Its always the same with devs, they nerf sth on the killer side but forget to deliver the rework they promised.
Same is gonna apply to next patch where pallet dropping becomes easier and bloodlust is nerfed hard, but maps wont receive a rework (100% confident here)

As rank 18 killer you can even be versed against 3x rank 1 and 1x rank 20. I will never forget that match, damn I was so innoncent before

I highly doubt the killer dodged you for laurie though. I just guess he didnt like it that you switched too late, or he was gonna leave anyway at 15 sec timer because you didnt ready up to prevent quickswitching.
Mabye another survivor had laggspikes too
Some survivors do DC as well, no complaints here, but that doesnt justify killers dodging either. I find funny when someone wants to play as a killer but takes time to cherry pick each team. I've never seen any killer from a movie not going for especific characters because they are afraid of them.
PS: you dont know if op waited till the end to switch. After a match my game sometimes automatically switches to dwight and i've pressed ready before i notice it.Well killers from movie are powerful and can go confident into the movie, they dont need to fear beind blinded by flashlights or survivors they already killed magically being healed again

I dont know because op didnt mention it, but I highly doubt that the killer lobby dodged because he didnt want to verse a laurie

I know they don't lose them only if they escape, but the killer doesn't have even an opportunity to keep the addons after the match (besides whiteward or wtvr it is called). Maybe we can do some conditions like Merciless victory , at least, where in this case you won't lose your addons. What do you think?Killers are second class players.
Its funny that the addon dependent side loses their addons after every match, while the side that doesnt need items to do well keeps them if they win.
Nice design, isnt it?

I think people on here need get over themselves and just take stuff with a grain of salt and think about how it effects both sides like if you had a buff/nerf idea but you play a lot of killer and want it for a killer make sure it’s not unfair for survivors or too big a buff that will make it the new sprint burst I didn’t start this to cause a argument btw but I have a feeling I’ll see a few survivor/killer mains in the comments saying “I sense a killer/survivor main” or “git gud” or if I’m lucky people who actually agree this forum needs more mods or something to counter the amount of bait, hate, or trolls on the forums.DBD is the most unbalanced game I know. The experience is horrible for high rank killers and for low rank survivors. Matchmaknig is so broken, its beyond believe.
If you ask me, the game went in the wrong direction long ago, I can only shake my head when it comes to decisions like global hex notifaction giving away all information or stuff like that. Playing survivor has become so easy I do it with one hand while eating or typing at the phone.
Playing killer is either easy AF if you play on low rank or you face bully squads you dont stand a chance. The survivors decide how the game is gonna go, not the powerole in the game (funny eh?)Doesnt help either that certain "humans" advertise toxicity in their channels that is in the game now too

Devs made clear during last stream that not every killer is meant to be viable at high ranks.

Yeah, you read that correctly fellow survivors and killers... I want a mori buff! Now before you survivor mains get out your pitch forks and torches... Please let me explain!NEW MORI MECHANIC:
-The killer can now mori a survivor without the help of any offerings or perks when the survivor is on their final hook.
You'll get a "Grab" opinion when you tap the attack interaction key. Remember, you can still lunge by holding the attack interaction key. When you hit the "Grab" key, the killer will grab the survivor by their throat.
-Takes the survivor 16 seconds to wiggle free from the killer's grasp.
-Takes 10 seconds for the "Mori" option to appear for the killer when (s)he has a survivor by the throat.
-The killer will mori the survivor after the killer hits the mori key by throwing them on the ground. Then the mori animation will play afterwards. This gives the survivor a fighting chance besides I'm down and there's nothing I can do but watch. Since the killer has to grab the survivor, to compensate, the killer can now mori injured survivors if they are on their final hook. Remember, the killer doesn't get many emblem points for this because you might not rank up if you mori every survivor... So you should only use this when you don't think you can reach a hook, DS, and etc.
-The killer can no longer mori a survivor when they are in dying state.
This will be here to prevent the killer from skipping the grab part of the mori.
I know, this can be OP and annoying but guys come on, you was going to die anyways and the killer doesn't get many emblem points for doing this. Please just, you know, keep the hate to a minimum, thanks!

Am I understanding that correctly that you can only mori after the surivor have been hooked twice. Then by moring after the 2nd hook you waste a lot of time and also emblem points and BP?
Whats the point of the mori then if you only do worse instead of 3 hooking someone -

What do you do against flashlights? (assuming you dont lobbydodge in the first time)I have never ever lobbydodge nor DC from game. No matter how toxic or how much tbagging I may have ever got in a game.
Against unaware survivors flashlights are useless in their hands, as they can not react in time before your hit them and Franklin's Demise their flashlight.
If they're aware of you coming their way you can play around flashlights by positioning yourself and using over for the first part of your uncloak animation. With good timing, they will hear your first bing as you're still out of line of sight and your second bong as you're in line of sight, and windstorm will close the gap for your strike.
If no cover is possible and they're full aware of your presence, run to the survivors first until you're body to body with them. And only then start your uncloak as you move in circles around them dodging the light as much as possible. Think what survivors try to do against a close combat Huntress that is about to throw her hatchet and you will get more or less the idea.
Yeah but you are a lot slower while you are uncloaking, also the 360 exploit is only a thing for survivors

As i said in an earlier post, my suggestion is to give the killer the right to Mori the last survivor in the hatch radius, this way it's a matter of who finds it firstThat doesnt solve the problem, unless its a tombstone mori accesible for all killers, but that would require new animations.
Once you downed the survivor, you need to wipe your weapon and in that time the survivor can jump through hatch already -
No it isnt. It sucks really hard for you team though if you do that
Why do you want to go back to rank 15? From my experience the solo survivor experience becomes better the higher you get because your mates dont suck that hard anymore.Ofc if you play SWF you wouldnt care, but then do you only derank to bully low rank killers as SWF?
Another alternative for deranking is just going afk after you are in loading screen, that takes longer though
The fastest way to dernak is without doubt instantly DCing after the game has started, but it is bannable if you pass a certain rate (you will never pass that % though, its way too high)
