So, when i want to play as a survivor, the join lobby button goes nuts, i mean, sometimes it works (if i'm lucky) but most of the time, it takes me to an infinite loading screen with nothing i can do about it, only way to fix it's to restart the game, and it's highly annoying, only way i can play is through SWF (not with, so don't misread), also, i'm sure i'm not the only one with this, so, can't they fix the damn thing ?Dont tab out of the game during loadingscreen, taht fixed it for me

First rule of the forum:
"Do not insult, harass or flame other forum members".And yet every thread with more than 2 replied is full of insults and flames.
Certain people are constantly throwing insults and ad hominem attacks on every thread they participate in (we all know who they are).
This forum has become so toxic it is absurd. Even the most reasonable and civil discussion is almost immediately derailed by someone jumping in with some snarky, salty insult or a tantrum rant.
Why would anyone new want to come and participate? Where the hell are the mods and why we do we have to put up with this when we want to discuss the game?
Do you play the game at all?
That should be answer enough. In fact, if you compare toxicity in the forum to the game, then the forum is holy in comparison

I think there should be a Banning System when a player DC's a match, it's annoying getting DC's and nothing happening, just loosee some pips (like they care about it)My suggestion is to add a warning when the player wants to DC a match, "Are you sure you want to disconnect? you will be banned for 15 Minutes for it." if he accepts, ban the client.
Make it an increasing timer the more you DC
-
Agreed, make it a increasing timer for each DC
-
That perk design is horrible, I prefer the old insidious compared to this tbh
-
As much as I hate it when you guys start comparing with mobile games, I am all in for a concede option.
Just one question, why should killers only be allowed to surender after 8 minutes? How could a surender feature be abused? Deranking? You can do that by DCing too, but I would prefer a conceding killer over a DCing one

-
DH is fine, the only problem is bad ping.... but you can lobbydodge, ya know

It's never any fun when a killer gets lucky and puts you on a hook then face camps you, not moving .. just staring. Even when other survivors are baiting, taunting or trying to get the person off the hook. It's not skill, it's just annoying.I suggest adding in a no camp rule, which will stop the hook entity/ timer from proceeding if the killer is within a certain radius? Or if not making it a rule making it a perk ?
Whats all your opinions on this ?
Facecamping has been removed from the game when devs added the possibility to unhook frmo all angles.
Or are you talkign about usual camping? Thats part of the game. "no camp rules" have been tested before, but survivors always abused those so it never became reality

Otherwise there won't be much left of a killer community. That rises the questions why then dont buff killers / nerf survivors in general in the same patch. anyway, im off playing monster hunter, good luck my fellow killer mains  They want to see what happens first. Maybe they have an emergency plan. Maybe we get a rushed DLC like last year. You mean like the leatherface BBQ emergency plan? Yeah maybe, but I hope that its not a perk which is the emergency plan, we already have too many mandatory perks Maybe the killer can also see every survivor affected by kindred. That would be fun!
Once again, it isnt broken since survivor cant see each other. I play killer a lot at high rank and don't see how seeing a killer near a hook is an issue if you don't camp? Seems like people just crying. If you aren't camping, this does not affect you. They said survivors seeing each other would be too much, did people freak out when they heard kindred or did they actually watch the stream?
Doesn´t matter if the killer stands 1 meter away or 50 meters. Survivors will still call it camping.
It's not about what they call it, its about the mechanic. If it reveals killers within ten meters, and you dont camp as on you leave the hook the aura doesn't stay. So you sound like someone complaining rather than looking at the mechanics for how effective it is. If it reveals your aura from let's say ten meters, but if you're not staying within ten meters, what is the issue.
Once again, people are acting like what they brought up is broken or game breaking, it isnt broken. This thing is in the mobile game already and isn't broken, people still get swept. This also helps people just buff killers and perks with gap being bridged. The mobile dbd has many in game communication features and literslly still has infinite loops and gens that takes much less time than dbd and people still sweep. An interesting thing to adopt is what they have in identity v, hitting someone vaulting results in a one hit down.
It is broken indeed when survivors can see each other, thats even stronger than coordination via voice comms (in that particular scenario)
Comparing DBD to a mobile game is just ridiculous, im not gonna comment on that one

I’m sorry but that’s bullshit that shouldn’t exist. You are describing lagg, yes P2P is a problem, but that wont change anytime soon
It was 50ms. Even tested it later in kyf as I have 2 ps4’s. (That means literally 0 ping, perfect connection.) still happened.
Even if both PS4s are in the same room, the game runs over the internet, i.e. you have indeed a ping around 50 or sth

I manage to drop pallets fine, unless the killer laggs.... then I get hit through pallets regularly.
But no need to worry, apperently the devs gonna apply easy mode next patch to looping, I wonder how that will do to the game

You do know its like impossible to lag a LAN party right?
As I said, you are not playing in your LAN network, but over the internet. That means that the information is sent to the local ISP which redirects it to yourself again. I know it sounds stupid, but thats how it works.

But of course, playing with yourself you will always have a very good ping (assuming you have proper connection)

Some monitors support a crosshair overlay feature, might check if you are lucky.

Before anyone storms at me like a madman i know that face camping is not deserving of a ban but it is an a*hole thing to do so i came up with a solution. (keep in mind that this is ONLY a suggestion)If the killer is standing ?m near the hook, the hooked survivor will be teleported to another hook in 30 seconds. (if the killer hasn't moved out of the area) Both the killer and the survivor will get a notification that the survivor has been moved onto another hook.
The solution for facecamping has been implemented several months ago. It is called unhooking from all angles and removes the possibility to facecamp anymore

Buily09 said:"why is Decisive Strike considered Toxic and cancerous?"
* Image at least decent survivor, that is not bad and don't have to be good. It takes a lot of seconds to catch someone if that survivor is using looping (that's classic). If you manage to catch that survivor, this perk will give all other survivors even more time on objectives, that survivor have free escape without only one downside (losing that perk slot for free escape! wow! what a downside, right?! hah). That chase will go on even much longer. If that survivor can loop rly well and know map rly well.... well it's almost all game one chase, gg. It's toxic, becuase you allready take so much time to even catch someone (I don't count noob survivors that go down fast) and then you have to deal with that ******. That's why.
Also, NOED have counterplay, yes, it's still kind off easy perk to use and carry you ezi, but it has counterplay (destroy totems, that's not that hardcore, you can even use "Small game" for it). DS don't rly have counterplay. Only counterplay to DS is that DS user will get down within few meters from hook and you can pick him up and down, but still "bodyblock" says hello, so it can be denied. There is a manual counter to D strike but not a lot of people use it because it’s so rare it wont work majority of the time, but if you time it exactly right and swing at the exact same time they hit the skill check and I mean it has to be spot on, it move cancels D strike and doesn’t drop you, a friend of mine sent me the clip after a match they had and they weren’t in a being hooked animation and far from anything and it got canceled when it hit dead center, I tried it out as killer and it didn’t work for the longest time so I thought it was a fluke because you know how this game can be with bugs, but one day I nailed it dead on and the icon popped up on my screen but they didn’t drop.
So the killer has to hit a lullaby 5, invisible, small skill check that the survivor might not even hit? Holy [BAD WORD].
Classic survivor, dont even bother arguing

Didnt say that, but the easier the better I guess....

So Mathieu asked us to provide feedback regarding the stream:- please consider showing high rank gameplay. Highest killer was Horvath with rank 14 and survivors played around rank 18-20 with Janick failing every gen skill check there was (achievement unlocked). The game experience is completely different on high ranks!
- that being said, i really enjoyed watching the devs play and hope you repeat this on a more regular base (but please on higher ranks)
- pretty pretty please, do a proper killer/survivor/perk/map reveal before the PTB. Don´t keep us in the dark until the PTB. This has been in mistake in the past (the pig) and you are repeating it. So please, do a proper reveal instead of just releasing the PTB.
Imagine if they showed high rank gameplay, ofc they can hack themselves to rank 1, but we see what happened at the asian event with cote, obviously they dont want to be bullied
Also the fps were so bad.... no words
But that would have been a realistic high rank match. They need to see how SWF deathsquads are on high ranks. They do everything to make the solo survivor as strong as SWF. But it doesn´t look like they know what it really feels like to play vs SWF on high ranks. There was 0 looping shown. Just a survivor who dropped one pallet after another and still managed to walk Horvath around the map. You know how that chase would have looked with a rank 1 looper who knows exactly when to drop the pallet.
I know, but just like me, they dont want to play those matches and I understand that because I dont wanna play such games either.
Its more fun to play the game as intended, i.e. without loopnig and enjoying the balance of low rank where the killer actually feels like the power role -

...and people who're engaged in this thread.. The post @JammyJewels have posted have nothing to do with my suggestion despite certain few similarities, I'd appreciate if you'd stay on the topic I put forth....I hijacked your thread? My suggestion was under the subject of making survivors less universal. A.K.A the title of your thread. If I've hijacked it in any way it's due to more people responding to the idea I put forth in response to the opening post rather than people addressing your idea. It's an open forum. We needn't respond specifically to what you've put forth and people can always just comment their own alterations or ideas to the thread's title: "Make Killers more Universal or making Survivors less universal". Not to mention the fear element being brought back. So, no, I didn't hijack your thread. I'm staying on topic and talking about the subject of the title. Not about your specifications of balance or ideas.
Alright, I see your point, I just didn't realize it because what you're suggested, to me at the time it didn't make them seem less universal, because most of what you would be changing with those value changes, is affecting their individual performance and add a bit of predictability, but doesn't actually make them less universal, as they can still use the all the best perks in the game in any way they want, they can still equip and use any item they want (provided they have it). I do like adding the strength, weaknesses and uniqueness, as they to me have seemed like they were intended to be for a certain style of play, fitting a specific type of class if you will. Where the backstory and theme of their perks suggests what they would be good at and possible also not so good at. My angle though were to make the perks more class based, and that way affect the survivors as a whole rather than individually as a character. But it certainly could compliment each other well.
I actually think that if their perk slots were changed somewhat like this.
One class perk slot.
One Character specific perk.
One support/utility perk.
One free choice perk.
...or similar..and then the character strengths, weaknesses and unique quality were also added.
Obviously Class perks should be defined, and there are already some obvious classes I think that would spring to mind, like healer, leader, saboteur/trapper, scout, etc.But with the above I think it could really make them less universal, much more class based and predictable.
Well, another idea could be to have the perks do more for the characters they came from. Whether that be increasing the numbers of it or giving it an additional effect.

I've suggested something along these lines before. As I presume many others have as well. I chose Claudette as my main because her description seemed to insinuate that she was a healing based character. If each character had unique stats these are what I'd give them.Dwight Fairfield:
- 10% Repair speed increase
- 5% Healing Speed increase when healing others
- 9% Vault Speed Decrease
- 5% Additional generator regression when failing a skill check
- 10% Increased vocal range.
- UNIQUE: Dwight's breathing noises are reduced for each survivor that is remaining in the trial. When all alone anxiety overwhelms him, and he now whimpers in fear.
He is described in a way that describes a playstyle around being around a team. He is weakened when his team is gone but is a strong aid to the team he has alive.
Claudette Morel:
- 20% Healing speed increase
- Reduced duration of scratch mark visiblity
- 5% Healing Progression when hitting a Great skill check.
- 5% Repair speed decrease
- 9% Vault Speed Decrease
- 10% Additional healing regression when failing a skill check
- UNIQUE: Claudette is able to wake up sleeping survivors while healing them with a Great Skill Check, which will cause Claudette to give the healed survivor a shot of adrenaline. Great Skill Checks will alternatively instantly bring a dying survivor into the injured state. Hitting a Great skill check on an injured survivor will not instantly bring them into the healthy state.
Meg Thomas:
- 9% Sprinting speed increase
- Reduced duration of scratch mark visibility
- 9% Vault speed increase
- 15% Repair speed decrease
- 10% Healing speed decrease when healing self.
- UNIQUE: Meg recovers from Exhaustion whilst sprinting, but the recovery speed of exhaustion whilst sprinting is reduced by 100%. A 40 second Exhaustion timer would become an 80 second timer if sprinting for the entirety of the recovery period.
Jake Park:
- 20% Sabotage Speed increase
- 10% Repair Speed increase.
- 10% Healing speed decrease
- 20% Sabotage regression when failing a skill check
UNIQUE: Jake has a natural affinity to using tools. Efficiency when using Toolboxes is increased naturally but when failing a skill check charges from the Toolbox are removed instead of generator/hook sabotage progression.
These are just for the base survivors. I have an idea for Nea to make her more of a Stealth character, Feng Min as a solo survivor (to perhaps fit in with her Teachable, I forgot the name of it) but I would like to see the survivors be more than just skins. But implementation of any feature like this would take time, and the team will need to dedicate a lot of their time to feedback over balance for the new killer and survivor, future chapters, etc.
You need to add some unique debuffs or we end up buffing survivors again
Buffing survivors isn't a bad thing, unless it makes them overpowered. If we buff survivors and give them an undoubted advantage over the killer we buff the killer to compensate. Buffs are much more fun than nerfs.
They are already overpowered, so buffing them is indeed a bad thing.
And no, its not the solution to only buff and never nerf

Sorry if this post was kind of pointless, my first one on the site and was just curious, thank you for your time.
Sadly this is what the game turns into when survivors become more experienced.
But you have to realize that by following you, they dont do gens. Get the one playing normally and then watch the others blinking with their flashlights at you while camping. The real problems occur when survivors dont wanna be toxic and just play optimally, in these games you can just go afk because you dont stand a chance unless you play nurse

Hello, I'm an average player really liking this game. Though I do feel like the killers are a little overpowered. While I understand in movies and such the killer typically is rather overpowered, but I do feel like this is ruining the game for most people as there is almost nothing you can do when on top of being overpowered there are many who body camp every survivor they hook and make the game rather unenjoyable. I was wondering if there could be a work around to this because it is rather impossible to win games this way and reporting everyone does nothing because the next person will do it and then the next and so on. As a request of a player who enjoys the game very much and really loves the concept and can appreciate all the work you put in to making this game but I'm sure many people will agree the imbalance is rather too large and gives us "survivors" an incentive to not play anymore. Also side note there are plenty of lag switchers in the game that have been done nothing about from what I've seen. You are not an average player, you are a beginner player.
Once you gain more experience you will understand how broken the game balance is.If you feel that playing survivor is not enjoyable for you, I recommend playing killer. Its quite simple.
This way you will also understand that survivors are the real powerrole in the game if they know what they are doing. After youve been bullied by a 4man deathsquad with DS and come back crawling to the forum, then I will accept your apologies for saying that killers are OP

not sure if this falls under a balance issue or not, but i find flashlights to be a big problem in this game, and not for the reasons you may be thinking. I understand they can be annoying to killers such as myself who get blinded at every turn, but i also understand it is a useful tool for survivors and would not suggest getting rid of them. The problem i have is when my screen turns bright white from the blind effect of flash whites, it causes me physical duress to the point i have gotten head aches from it. I would strongly suggest toning down the brightness by making it a less physically blinding color white to maybe a mild yellow or something. I understand not everyone has as sensitive eyes as i do, but i can imagine at least some physical discomfort to every killer blinded by a flashlight. Its hard to enjoy a game when this negative stimuli is a common occurrence. especially in the higher ranks.Close your eyes, take a deep breath and decide for your own whether you want to keep going through this.
There are no penalties for DCing, so why not do it? Survivors do it all the time
Also I recommend dodging flashlights in lobbys if you have problems IRL dealing with them

Hi all, First post here and a newbie player hereI am an adult gamer that works full time and does not have much free time for gaming, but do enjoy this game. I know the way this works it is going to take a lot of game play hours to unlock perks and level up.
What do you suggest is best for me to do to get the most enjoyment in the game, knowing that i cannot dedicate as much time as i would like to this game.
Should i just concentrate on picking one survivor and one killer and level up to at least level 20 to get the 4 perk slots free, and then pick another survivor & killer and repeat, or should i just spread the levelling up amongst all killers and survivors knowing it will take a long time to even start unlocking the first perk slots etc and getting any new perks.
I would love to able to dedicate hours on hours with this game but work and out of work activities don't give me much time and it appears this game is for those that can dedicate a lot of time to unlock all perks
Thank you
If you lvl all survivors/killer you will end up with a bunch of teachables and you dont get the perks you want first.
If you wanna play time efficient, then I suggest the following:
BBQ is your #1 priority, basically doubles the BP on killer. Then decide what killers you wanna play (2-3 to keep some variety) and lock down on a single survivor you like because of the style.
Then you need to gather the important teachables, SC, sprintburst etc. I.e. lvl meg and claudette first
As killer I suggest to start with trapper, agitation and brutal strengh are rlly good in the beginning. Then maybe buy hag DLC for ruin, most important perk if you wanna do well in low ranks

You need to add some unique debuffs or we end up buffing survivors again

why is Decisive Strike considered Toxic and cancerous?
I mean it is a one time use hit or miss so I don't see the problem with it.
It's no more of a get out of jail free card than NOED is.what would be a good nerf to it if its to get needed?
If you get the skill check the killers drops you but you still stay in the dying phase?
If you land the skill check the killer drops you and you enter a borrowed time effect?
Or the killer can just go for you carefree now because you have wasted your only borrowed time?
There is one difference between NOED and DS, NOED usually affects only one survivor (assuming it wasnt countered) and it can be countered easily.
All survivors can use DS and it cant be countered -

Also the fps were so bad.... no words

I think I missed the event, how can we play with devs?yes, I am slow
Derank to rank 15 and then you have to be lucky or try to snipe them^^

Whats the point of seing 20fps + rank 20 gameplay?20 fps would have been fine, but single digits is unacceptable

This is very disappointing, i thought they are vs streamers on new content...Cant do that or the devs will get bullied
