Depending on the distance of the hook it might be possible to run trough tainted ground and still reach the exit gate.
- Alternatively the survivors could try to reach untainted ground around the not yet opened second exit gate.
In any case the intention of this mechanic should be clear:
Once the exit gates are open survivors should try to leave as quickly as possible as long as they still can.

Here is the problem with DBD and its community:
Dead By Daylight doesn't know what direction it wants to go/what sort of game it wants to be. Sure its listed as horror but what type? You can easily debate several "horror" elements with this game.
For example let me take two games that fall under the "Battle Royal" category that have clear game direction. Cod 4 Blackout is a Battle Royal that is meant to be more realistic (video game realistic) and competitive.
Then we have a game like Totally Accurate Battlegrounds that is also a Battle Royal game but is clearly meant to be more casual and fun.
If a gun in Blackout were to be considered way too "overpowered" it would be expected that this gun is re-balanced to maintain that competitive feel, yet if a gun was considered "overpowered" in Totally Accurate Battlegrounds it would be widely accepted as a fun gun that people may or may not want to see changed because the game is simply casual fun and not competitive by nature.Dead By Daylight doesn't have a clear direction with this community. Does it want to be a game where the survivors have to work together to overcome a truly powerful Killer or does it want to be a more casual game of what is essentially "tag". They seem to be confused themselves with how they try to balance the game and that is why so many people are in disagreement about what they want from DBD.

off my most frustrating game started with a last second 4 flashlight switch. FUN
i spent the entire game getting blinded every second. my hex ruin was broken in less than 10 seconds and 34 generators went off simultaneously then when the last 3 were all at 99% i couldn't find anyone after searching i fianlly found all of them huddled in a corner teabagging and i soon as i get near boom flashlights and pallets and then the exit gates open and all 4 are teabagging and taunting and i pop evil within 3 and using my tombstone i try to mori the closest one but instead 3 flashlights peirce my retinas interrupting the animation i manage to down one but as soon as i pick him up blinded again somehow i finally carried one to a hook only to get decisive strikes then i grab another blinded this goes on for 10 minutes all of them had deciesive strike FUN and as soon as i manage to get one to a hook body block and when i turn around guess hat they all have saboteur and every hook nearby is broken finally one last flashlight blind and all 4 escape. FUCVK THAT GAME it asted an hour of my life poor michael will never get his sight back. talk about toxic survivor though

There should be a separate league for SWF or at least some penalty (ie can't rank up, no bps). It is the one in game allowed !mechanic that I sincerely disagree with.
Pallet looping, tea bag taunting, ds, NOED, camoing...these are all viable and allowed mechanics that can be countered.
But swf is something absolutely in a different league. Not sure why it is allowed in general matches.
I would love for a developer to explain how it is balanced.
