You can always try to slugg.
Sure, the survivor can still DC, but at least this way you have a chance. The hatch closing mechanic was not implemented because it was "unsatisfying", just like the DS and SC reworks got delayed indefinitely because "not satisfying".
DCing gives the killer points
yes, 625 xD
per dc, the survivor gets punished by (what i believe) losing some bp, not gaining bp from previous match, depiping twice, and losing inderecent shards (I spelled it wrong I know)
All survivors Dc right at the beginning of the match, killers gets 2,5k BP as "compensation" and loses all his addons/offerings. Seems like a solid compensation
And AFAIK you dont lose shards

You can use breaking line of sight.
I admit, it has become a lot harder since the beginning of the game due to certain perks, but it still works sometimes.Use iron will for example, works wonders for me because the killer cant tunnel you when he doesnt find you

Now lets assume that the devs would introduce additional ways to defend yourself from the killer, that would need a massive rework of the game because what would prevent survivors from employing both tactics, looping and the new one?

I only camp for a few reasons. One of which, I don't even consider Camping.- Gates are open and I need to secure a Kill. I think most people consider that while Gates are open, this is fair play.
- SWF group are being Trolls. If they try to ruin my game, I'll do everything I can to make it not fun for them.
- They're hook blocking, or standing there waiting to unhook while I'm at the Hook. If I KNOW you're right there on the hook, it would be stupid NOT to kill you. Be smart, use stealth, give me five god damned seconds to move away.... something.
- Why would you need to secure a kill? To not depip? A survivor needs to escape. Facecamp is bad even after the gates are open, so should still be punished. There is no reason why you would get a free kill like that.
- There are also people that play solo. I think majority is. And people in my games are most of the times like me. No teabgaiing, just doing the objective. And they still get camped.
3.Only people who bodyblock, are mostly persons playing in swf groups. You hardly ever see it done by solo survivor players.
I get that Playing against a SWF is harder because of communication. But dont ever blame that too on solo survivors. When people camp, its very hard to free them without coms. Most of the time, the rescuer just gets downed and traded in.
The biggest problem with camping is that as a survivor, you actually have no choice then to go in. You can do gens, but that only gives you objective points. Survival points can hardly ever be obtained then by escaping the match, so an entire category that is just wasted. So leaves altruism en boldness. And you get both from unhooking a player that is camped, which i why many people do it even do they know there is a camper. If you dont, you will most likely depip. I have seen that plenty of times when i try to play like everyone suggested. But you just dont get enough points in 3 categories not to depip with a killer camping without trying to free someone. And unless the developers rework points for survivors so they too can actually get points in 4 categories during the match, Camping will always stay.
Because killers know that survivors simpy dont have a choice then to go in, so they can wait. The 4k will be there do matter what. Why would you need to escape? To not depip? A killer needs to kill.

You guys ruined the game with the healing changes. Every game I play the killer tunnels the unhooked person because it is guaranteed easy target even with well make it level 3 they will still be injured. Half the games I play in the guy who gets hooked first is tunneled than rehooked than doesn't struggle so he dies. Making it a 3vs1 before 5 minutes pass. This is not fun at all. I know you guys are trying to balance swf but you buffed camping/tunneling and are slowly destroying this game.I see, survivors suiciding on hook is a problem for you, so you blame the healing changes for that.
SWF is not even remotely balanced btw

Thats just classic.
Increasing the healing time wasn’t meant to solve the speed of the game, they specifically said they plan on adding a second objective to help out with that but y’all continue to sit up and whine about it. To be fair. They "Plan" a lot of things. Fixing the Hatch, Buffing Freddy, and the DS rework. None of which has shown any progress @Wraff The DS rework was planned to make it to this patch but the results were unsatisiying. They’re trying their best to make it balanced. However, for the hatch, I honestly see no type of fix. I’ve thought of everything and looked at everyone’s ideas on it and I see no type of balanced outcome for it. Hatch rework is gonna have to take play on one sided favor whenever they like it or not. Freddy buff is coming soon too.
Maybe live up to the word “patient”.
Just like the hatch closing mechanic and the SC rework have been scheduled for the clown patch / midchapter patch, but suprisingly both of them were "unsatisfying" too and we never heard abotu them again.
@DeadByFlashlight Would you rather have a balanced rework or no balance at all..?
Currently I see no rework at all, i.e. the situation stays as it is.
The same applies to gentime, to SWF and to ranking. The devs claim all the time that they are doing sth, but nothing really happens.

I am not defending the adjustment, it's just strange to me even when running straight for a time, I still sometimes don't get the fast vault.
It's better than before for sure, but a little bit too restricting at least, you cannot really [BAD WORD] over the killer with waiting at the shack window. But now you have to run straight for a short time in order to the fast vault.
You just wont be able to 360 into a fast vault now which was possible with the system before in order to get fast vaults at those special infinite positions. -

Just ignore them. Dont go to gates and go break some pallets you may have missed, or go afk and do something for a bit.
This is a horror themed, competitive game. Its about doing x to get x points. The toxic players arent playing the game, they are playing you. Dont get so tilted over an animation.
Crouching is an important function for pig too.
Yet pig cant tbagg probably.Does the ability to crouch very fast in a short amount of time affect the actual gameplay? I doubt that, just like flashlight clicking its a feature of the game only used by toxic survivors. There is literally no reason gameplaywise why these "features" should be in the game

Hello all! So I've been having problems with the hatch constantly. To counter, I have been leaving the second to last survivor downed so i can hunt the last one down. I have no longer had a survivor escape via hatch and have had MANY more "nobody escaped" matches. The new problem that has raised is that once i hook the last survivor, I can no longer find the survivor I left downed and they always bleed out. I know Deerstalker is a thing, but I don't want a crutch perk. Is there any tips on how to find downed survivors? (And yes i know you can hear them grunting but i cant even get close enough to hear. They just vanish.)Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!
Turn up the volume a lot and listen for their moans.
If you still cant find them in a reasonable time, walk to the hatch and wait there. Maybe they will show up, maybe they wont. Either way, you 4ked -

I sometimes find that I will be so wrapped up in chases, hunting, hooking (lol) and other in game activities that I will go for an entire match\trial without taking a drink of my beverage (be it beer, spirits or wine).Almost every other game I play has almost built in opportunities for me to use at least one hand a grab a quick drink, but there are times when I finish a match and notice my drink is starting to get warm or the ice is beginning to melt because I have had to use both hands to play effectively.
I propose there be a built in 10(ish) second pause (for all players) every 5 minutes or so, so that players can drink more easily while playing.
How am I supposed to get tipsy if I have to wait for the match to end to drink?!? And why should I risk a loss by stopping my play to drink?
And before it is suggested: no, I am not going to rig a camelback or some other device to drink from a straw. I am a grown man!
Behavior, please fix this broken system as soon as possible!!!
Play survivor and you will get bored so fast holding M1 with your one finger while drinking that you will have to rush the games even faster next game when you realize you have drunken too much

Btw, considering how short the games are in DBD, you can have a drinknig pause after every game.
If you really feel the need to take a drink while playing killer and cant wait until the game has ended, wait until you have hooked someone and employ the tactic called "camping" while drinking -

Killers are too weak. When you have survivors able to taunt and t-bag a rank 1 Myers/Leatherface theres something seriously wrong with the game.. You go to look at their perks after match: Dead Hard, Self Care, Adrenaline and Decisive.. they take flash lights and micro spam them at you taunting you. This isnt fun gameplay. Killers are suppose to be scary not play things for the survivors to taunt. Fix your gameSadly the game is balanced around a casual experience.
When survivors use the tools available to them and know how the game works and memorize the common loops, there is nothing to fear anymore unless its a nurse. But I believe the majority of dbd players are higher rank from my experience finding a game as killer at rank 1 is almost instant any time where as a new player trying to find a game as killer takes a long time to find other rank 15s and up
Yeah thats because ranking is pointless.
When I can reach rank 1 in the first month trying to climb as survivor, I know that there is definitely somethign wrong. In any other competitive game, even thinking that sth like this could be psosible would straight up be laughable.
In other games most players hover around gold during their entire playtime (gold would be reflected in rank 12-10ish

The game is over as soon as that down happens. Most of the hits that look weird are due to latency.

I got 2 games somewhere playing as survivor one was in a swf group (they was trying to help me trophy hunt all 4 out the hatch) where once he started lagging us we recorded the game and theres blatant proof if him being on top of a set of stairs and a friend is downed at the bottom when he didn't move and just teleported down the stairs (also footage of me frozen in mid air for 5 seconds as well) who then raged at us because we jumped out the hatch with 3 men left (had a key hence trophy hunting) and one where I actually dc against a hacking doc I have footage that's shows me running away from him I get hit no stain look behind nowere near not even chasing then I am downed again he walks over from the spot I first ran from him over 20-30 feet away that's a obvious hacker so yup not gonna feed him points)
If you recorded that, share it with us please, I am curious now

"Tunneling = DC" ? What is that? Do you realize how effective a strategy tunneling is (when done right)? Do you realize how much you screw your teammates over when you DC? I know it's feels bad when you are the one being tunneled, but if everyone had the same attitude, then in every game it's either you get tunneled and DC, or someone else, then he DC-s and then the killer picks you up one by one.Losing a game doesn't make you a pussy. Giving up does.
Exactly this. Though even when someone is cheating I wouldn't DC because you'll get into a new game soon enough.
I don't understand why so many players think that "Tunneling" is somehow unfair, as if Killers should be less efficient and go for someone else who isn't injured, and may be better at looping/chases.
I have never DC'd as a Survivor, because I want the BP. Even if its a small amount, its something and I can just leave and start a new game after I get sac'd.
When a survivor is speed hacking, he can hold the game hostage forever and you are basically forced to DC or go afk until he gets bored.
Some surivovrs would prefer to be chased by a killer AI that farms BP with them

* My vision is really blurry... weeee?
* Now if I fail a skill check on the hook, I die! Go me!
Seriously, what part of anything you posted is "fun"? Here is an example of what might make the dying state more fun. Instead of just sitting still holding a button to progress your recovery, you could have a Tetris screen show up and your progress is based on when you destroy rows. If you set the difficulty high enough and get 4 rows at once then you get to go to the injured state. Now I'm not actually suggesting players on a hook or bleeding out should play some kind of mini-game like Tetris. I'm simply making a point that your suggestions do absolutely nothing to make losing more fun.
Consider the following please:
-More visual effects that make the game more interesting and fun when in a bad situation.
-More options while in dying state.
-More fun hook changes that give you more control when losing.Additionally, why are you so worried about missing a skill check while on the hook? Are skill checks difficult for you because they are certainly not for me. Perhaps you need to familiarize yourself with generators and practice more often?
Overall, this just makes the game more fun and interesting when in a bad situation.
No I have to disagree with the skill check on phase 2 , we have enough lag problems on console as it is and just tapping the button doesn’t work sometimes if the lag is bad you just die anyway even if you didn’t mess up
You will get more optimization this year, stop preventing development of the game just because of "lag problems"
Skillchecks are clientside and are only affect by bad framerate, not by latency

It’s really not. There are very few cheaters and few lag switchers. Many just use it as an excuse for why they lost. Lag is present and so are FPS drops, but actual cheating and lag switching is rare.

People read the healing nerf as +4 seconds.
What people don't realize is that this is +8 seconds of Self Care, +5 seconds on a Sloppy Butcher heal (from the base of +3 seconds, and being +4 seconds from the current base heal time), and a whopping ten extra seconds of Self Care with Sloppy Butcher.
This isn't even looking at perks like Coulrophobia which increases these numbers by 50%, meaning that a Doctor with Sloppy and Clownphobia can make a Self Care take a whopping 45 seconds. If the intent was to nerf Self Care well... you didn't. You just made it more mandatory since it's less likely that your allies will have the time to heal you. Once again a nerf that tries to fix an OP perk just made it even more mandatory. (Exaustion nerf)
+4 seconds is way too much because of the implications with Self Care. Either make it +2 seconds, or make Self Care's healing speed something like 60%. (~27 seconds, which is still 3 seconds slower than base Self Care.)
Or better yet: just nerf Self Care's healing speed? Nip the problem at the bud instead of cutting the whole damn tree down? You can only heal when you are safe anyway, I dont see how a few secodns change anything now. It only affects people that wanna SC while looping.
The intent was not to nerf SC, the intent was to slow down the game (yes that was achived, but the magnitude is laughable).
The devs simply are too lazy/scared to touch the actual problem, namely the gen mechanic
