How sad. They caved in... They should have just taken it as a lesson for next time.

What they did was give into the spoiled brat.

You know that kid that keeps crying until they get what they want....

Now they won't stop crying. Next time it will only be worse.

They will always paddle back. They simply got no backbone, we saw that with a lot of proposed changes that never happened already

I would do the same if I see a survivor running around with the trapper, I'd check to see if the windows are trapped, and I had the same thing happen to me done by other randoms. So that's not necessarily an SWF phenomenon, I don't need voice comm to smartly react to another person being chased around the killer shack or some other typical trapping location.
I believe that the way I use voice comms with the people I play is pretty effective and also realistic. You act like you only play world championships of DBD with all crème de la crème military SWF teams that like give each other coordinates and clock positions each second. Almost all supposedly typical SWF situations that were described: a smart survivor would simply act like that even as a random. I know that for a fact because it happens once in a while to be in a game with one.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with you on the problem that there are situations in which good survivors can ridiculously outplay the killer. But that's a good-survivor-problem, and not an SWF problem, you are sending your resentment toward the wrong direction.

If I have a match like that, well, I just take it as it is and try to not get frustrated about it. There are games when I outrun the killer the whole match and everyone escapes, and they just take it as well. It's part of the game. Sometimes you lose, sometimes you win, sometimes deserved, and sometimes not. And that's alright.

Yeah its just a coincidence that all these teams of survivors are on each others friendlist.
Yeah I know, just a coincidence, that has nothign to do with SWF or voice comms.

Of course I dont face crème de la crème military SWF teams everygame, I would have quit the game long ago if that was the case. Doesnt change the fact that they exist and if you dont take that into acount when balancing the game, what is the killer supposed to do? SImply DC and hope that the next game he doesnt get a tryhard SWF?

And before you tell me to git gud or that its a "good survivor problem", how is it possible that people that play the game as their job with several of thousands hours, basically breathing DBD, struggle insanely against such teams? Unless you play nurse, you are simply screwed and this needs to change

Too bad some brilliant minds do not see it.
It would be the same as paying a monthly fee in WOW, the difference is that in DBD nobody charges you anything, nor are you forced to buy anything.

And that do they give in comparison?
Comparing DBD to WOW is just a joke tbh

The queue times never were that bad. I was one of the people who ran that perk and took a good look at how the BP generation for Survivors was. Never had an issue during the time. The reason for the nerf was that people would just farm others off the hook way too often. There were discussions about changing the token system back then but they went with the obvious band-aid.

And tunneling? Sorry, but I am the type of killer who tries to enjoy the game without playing that scummy. I will never tunnel, camp or whatever. Call it a handycap but I actually enjoy the game a lot more this way (and I'm getting a lot more points out of games this way).

There is nothing wrong with playing casually. If you wanna take a relaxed game and dont focus on killing, then this is your choice and not scummy at all.

    Actually it did help.
Before you ran the risky of getting sprint boosted twice during a single chase, which prolonged the chase big time.
Now at least you only have to deal with one use per chase.

Most survivor ######### up when the second sprintburst activated during chase. Sure in the hands of a competent survivor planing ahead in order to use the 2nd burst properly it was deadly.

But from my experience as killer, the second sprintburst ######### most survivors because they suddenly stated runing circles a lot faster, then I switch direction and they dont react fast enough. Voila

My issue with sprintburst has always been that you have to stand nose to nose to the survivor, and then he can still sprint burst away.

They need to rework the whole gen mechanic, because killers are just under insane time pressure and its really boring to hold M1 on the survivor side.

Then they need to adress SWF balance which is one of the biggest problems of the game

Well I know, I just think this adds more to the longevity to the gameplay, cause youre not gonna run around and get the hex totems destroyed cause it calls for a more cooperative gameplay between surviviors. And i was just making suggestions for future gameplay. Survive With Friends? What's the issue with that?

Ever heard of this thing voice comms? The game wasnt designed around survivors being able to communicate, reavealing killers position/momentum trap placement etc etc

Yes. I agree. I'm thankful for the event too.

I mean it's going to be fun and great, but for a 13 day event... you kinda look forward to grinding out some long term goals or something.

I'll be done with my 30 vials this weekend for sure. Just a bit of a letdown I think.

30 vials for 3 pieces? Okay great.

Make a 2nd set that is 150 vials for 3 pieces (50 per piece)

Why not? I mean let us have that grind to do.

Thats just a guess, and maybe im wrong, but I guess that BVHR would have earned more money selling skins if they would demand more vials per skin (for ecample 50 for one outfit) and make all outfits available for grinding. A cashgrab needs to be well hidden, otherwise you will just upset players and achieve the opposite of what you actually wanted to achieve

@Peasant I feel you, but I also feel like giving people the option to unlock things for free with a huge grind while still making them available for purchase would be a better marketing strategy, given that people are so upset. I think that more people would want to pay for the cosmetics/support the devs if they didn't feel like they'd been led astray in the first place. It may or may not be an accurate feeling, but the fact is it's impacting players' willingness to support the game financially. And if it's better for marketing AND player satisfaction, then it's a win-win.

(By the way, there are a lot of valid reasons why people over 18 might not have the financial means to buy cosmetics. I can give examples if you like, but the point is just because people are poor doesn't mean they're literal children, even if they act like it :P )

I honestly believe I know why the developers capped the amount of serum gained, and it was so that everyone could get cosmetics. Think about how much time there is in the event right now, if people could unlock everything then either everyone would play killer to have no serum loss or they'd bum-rush the visceral cankers as survivors. This would ultimately culminate in anger at killers for denying farm matches and it would cause killer queue times to spike.

I understand that not everyone who is poor is a child as there are a great number of variables in life that can really make life hell. I only mentioned children because as you stated there was a lot of whining as well as . . .
    this:

I get that Minecraft wasn't always a kid's game, however, it's a kid's game now and seeing the portrayal of anything else in a Minecraft style is a dead giveaway that children are afoot. I don't know the sheer number of people that shouldn't be playing this game amongst us, so I'm forced to guess based on a number of unreliable variables. The most reliable of these variables is basic communication so when a user lacks good grammar, spelling, or uses very simple words all the time I make the assumption of youth.

Sometimes its hard to distinguish a 12 year old native english speaker from some "adults", especially when they are russians

  • -The sense of accomplishment is completely missing because the skins can be also purchased and that EVEN after the event has ended.

The event is just a bad version of a 2x BP event if you ask me.

Ok I take back what I said.

I was feeling good about the changes yesterday. It's been HORRIBLE tonight.

Firstly, damn near every killer is taking sloppy butcher now. So healing times are ridiculous.

Secondly, nobody has brought any kind of healing buff perks to compensate for this.

Been seeing a lot of Spirits tonight and we all know how they play. Walk away from the hook then phase-walk back to try and tunnel. Real smart, nobody else ever thought of that  :|

Then you have teamates so bad that the extra healing time just means they miss more skillchecks. Seriously how the hell are so many people missing skillchecks?

I feel if they had we'll make it, botany, or even leader it would be something but nobody is adapting. Also there has been a lot of crummy killers tonight who decide the best way to use the extra time is just to tunnel the hell out of someone.

The community really does ruin this game. Its fun when it works but it blows when you get so many bad games.

Nobody is apating because they never needed to.
All survivor nerfs have been laughable and survivors are doing the same every patch and its working every patch because nothing is being changed.

Take the exhaustion "nerf" for example. How has that change anything?

  • Only the hill totem is better hidden now.
"better hidden" in the sense that you can see it across half of the map

If that is the promised hex rework, then my decision to close my wallet was justified

  • @Orkhun said:
Every survivor can have a passive perk which empowers one of the skills and/or gives defensive bonus so every character will be different and will require different tactics. For example Claudette is a botanist and skilled in healing so her passive perk would enhance healing and if botany knowledge and self care perks equipped she will recover from any physical harm effect much faster, For Dwight as a leader his perk could improve other survivors perks if prove thyself and leader perks equipped. David King as a fearless survivor could recover quicker from psychological effects if dead hard and we're gonna live forever perks equipped and other survivors would receive positive and defensive bonuses depending their skills and abilities. This way equipping their own perk would be more meaningful and every survivor would have different play styles and instead of everyone is same character, a balanced survivor team would have better chance of survival :)

What would be the passive perks of the killers? Make some examples

Here is where you want wrong.

You downed one of them. I mean really dude? How could you do something so brutal?

Don't you know that is survivor rule #153?

"The killer should not down a survivor. If the killer manages to down a survivor, said survivor, plus his friends, neighbors, family, and general community is entitled to taunt, rage, and send death threats, along with racial slurs to the killer in question".

Not to be confused with survivors rule #193 though. As it reads -

"All survivor complaints are valid and will receive full developer support".

Just wait till you hear the rules on how to play The Spirit, plus nerf forums.

Anyways, I hope now you understand how to play the game properly and be a less toxic killer. :chuffed:

You forgot about #153b and #153c that state that the killer is indeed supposed to down survivors, but is not supposed to hook them with the intention to kill. Either the killer lets the survivors heal each other or he hooks only twice in order to farm hook points with them.

Not downing is a toxic playstyle because it denies the survivors to gain altruism BP

I have bought every DLC and I actually think the packs like Bloodstained Sack had a 'fair' value to them-- 3$ for 8 cosmetic items that are actually nice to look at? I feel like .20 is definitely fair for a cosmetic. 3$ per cosmetic part, 10$ for a whole outfit? It's really not fair.

If everyone would stop throwing money at BHVR, they would realize that sth is wrong.
But as long as money is still fyling towards them, there is no need to take action

I am suggesting an idea, there is supposed to be a penalty if the killer is under 16 meters unless the survivor is close a hook. Survivors have to be close to a hook to get other survivors down and killers take advantage of that, so they can still camp. Killers have become so try hard because they want blood points or they just wanna make someone mad. I think If they're going to camp the penalty should be loss of blood points. Noone wants to lose blood points we need it to upgrade our characters. Also, I know there is an obsession perk but, alot of these killers will obsess over a survivor that is not in their focus, its gets so bad they will not let us off the hook. We are all here to get points. As a survivor I don't mind dying I just want to enough points to progress.

Its survivors like you that rush for hooks that support this camping playstyle.
Camping is actually a really bad strategy that results in very low BP and a depipp

  • I like the idea too, but I wonder whether this might attract too many killers to switch to survivor.

I've noticed that sometimes it's just better to wait till their swing has missed and then drop for the stun but I think it's stupid that a survivor can be hit when the pallet looks down but you still get hit.

Risk vs Reward. If you want to stun the killer, you run the risk of getting hit.

I get that but when it's already down?? If it looks down I don't wanna be hit. If they intend for it to be this way i'll just have to deal with it but damn it's annoying.

After playing extensively tonight here's what I've noticed.

Firstly poor killers now found it easier than ever before to tunnel. There's less chance of their victim healing up before they get to them, especially with the mangled effect.

Secondly this does nothing to combat the issue of gen rushing. For the weaker killers who get looped for a while before catching some one gens are still flying past just as fast as before.

It's hard for a lot of the weaker killers to deal out damage to multiple people, especially when they're spread around the map.

So when killers find it easier to tunnel but gens are still pinging every couple of seconds guess what this leads to? It's easier to focus one or two people out of the game and go for confirmed kills than it is to try and stop the entire team.

Not to mention that solo players get hit the hardest by this. Some games are fine but I've had a fair few where I could sing and dance in front of people and they still wouldn't heal me. Not a problem in SWF when you can just ask your friend to do it. I'd like to dump self-care but it's just not feasible unless I'm playing with friends. Maybe we need more communication options? One for healing? Then again when you're injured in front of them if they still don't get the idea i doubt an emote or prompt will do anything.

I just feel this change encourages more tunneling. It's the gens that are rhe problem. Not to mention some killers just 'give up' once 3 gens light up in record time and they then just decide to tunnel to try and secure one kill.

Tunneling is when the killer doesnt even give the survivor a chance to heal. How do healing times affect this?

Yes, i would have prefered a complete rework of the gen mechanic too, but once again the devs took the easier "solution".

The change doesnt affect tunneling at all, but tunneling is still the only thing a killer can do to somehow do well against a genrush (if the survivors play organized and well, even that doesnt work unless nurse)

  • @Fibijean said:

    Thats simply a joke.
Queue times were fine when there were only 10k players too and we have significantly more now.

Also there are other games that managed to do a separate casual/ranked queue with a lower population.

Fact is that I dont even know a single game where they have a ranked mode, but no casual mode

If everyone would stop throwing money at BHVR, they would realize that sth is wrong.
But as long as money is still fyling towards them, there is no need to take action

    Like things free, do you?
It's a virtual set of clothes for virtual characters in a virtual world. If you cannot get it (although two weeks is plenty), well... I think you'll still do fine.

We will still do fine not playing the game at all too. How is that an argument

For weeks you guys hyped up this event, leading us to believe we could unlock all these cool skins as a token of YOUR appreciation for us, the fans. A lot of us have spent tons of money over the years on your DLC's and skins. But alas, at the last minute you guys make this a cash grab. Why cant you give back to the community? 1 set for what a lot of us consider the most important Holiday in DBD is a slap in the face. "Oh but its more than usual!" Well you would think your remaining loyal fan base would be worthy of such a gift of gratitude. I guess not.

I have bought every DLC with cash. I have spent more than id like to admit on skins over the years.. but this time it stings. This time I thought you were finally going to give back for our loyalty and passion for your game. Seems a lot of us were wrong.

Its crazy to me you would pull this right before Last Year and Hide or Die comes out. Why should we stick around after this is the thanks we get? Your incentive should be to keep your player base happy, because with a happy player base comes continued customers. I personally am done. I will grind for the 1 outfit and stop playing for the rest of the event. More than likely if Last Year is any good I wont be back. And dont be surprised to see the same with many others. All im seeing on every avenue of social media is how upset people are for what you guys have done.

When this player base is cut in half you will have nobody to blame but yourselves. A cash grab at the very last moment is shameful and in my opinion unforgivable.

Thanks for giving back to us the way we have given everything to you. This will be a day you regret.

React accordingly and close your wallet.
Only this way they will notice when they suddenly earn less money even though they provide more skins.

@DeadByFlashlight I don't think I made my stance on DCing clear. I think it's despicable and as you said there's no excuse unless the game is being held hostage. The only other way to derank is to play badly on purpose, which is bad for all the same reasons that DCing is bad, albeit to a slightly lesser extent. But I think it's a problem that there are people that feel like they have to DC just to play in an environment they find fun.

I derank too, but I dont DC for that. I let survivors farm some point instead of ruining their game

  • Rare?

Everyone will be runing around in their new "legacy" skins soon
  • You can derank without DCing too
There is no excuse to dc unless you are being hold hostage basically.
And pls don't pretend that this happens so frequently
  • Can we show the devs a little bit of gratitude please? They don't HAVE to give us jack #########. However, they are and I'm grateful for that. Thanks guys! :)
    No I'm fed up
