LMAO. Y’all would rather go through my comments voting “LOL’S” when y’all have yet to contradict me on what I’ve said.

    Thats just classic.

Increasing the healing time wasn’t meant to solve the speed of the game, they specifically said they plan on adding a second objective to help out with that but y’all continue to sit up and whine about it.

To be fair. They "Plan" a lot of things. Fixing the Hatch, Buffing Freddy, and the DS rework. None of which has shown any progress

@Wraff The DS rework was planned to make it to this patch but the results were unsatisiying. They’re trying their best to make it balanced.

However, for the hatch, I honestly see no type of fix. I’ve thought of everything and looked at everyone’s ideas on it and I see no type of balanced outcome for it. Hatch rework is gonna have to take play on one sided favor whenever they like it or not. Freddy buff is coming soon too.

Maybe live up to the word “patient”.

Just like the hatch closing mechanic and the SC rework have been scheduled for the clown patch / midchapter patch, but suprisingly both of them were "unsatisfying" too and we never heard abotu them again.

@DeadByFlashlight Would you rather have a balanced rework or no balance at all..?

Currently I see no rework at all, i.e. the situation stays as it is.
The same applies to gentime, to SWF and to ranking.

The devs claim all the time that they are doing sth, but nothing really happens.

@DeadByFlashlight Or you can just be patient... They’ll come in-time, they have other stuff to plan ahead.

Why are you talking about SWF though? They’re not making any changes to that, it’s the source of their income. lol that’s not going anywhere.

I have been patient for quite a while now and nothing has happened

I am not asking for a swf remove, I am asking to balance the game around swf instead of pretending that everyone still plays without voice comms

Make it easier for survivors to gain BP and the only advantage to play killer is gone.

Now guess how that would affect the queues (btw, this was the reason why BBQ was introduced back in the days, to get more killers again )

Now that comment is one of the most ridiculous things I have read on this forum so far. You will still gain a shitton more points than Survivors. I was just refering to making the tokens easier to obtain, as it is pretty stupid to only get the full tokens in what? 1 out of 4 or 5 games without going WAY out of your way?

BBQ was NEVER introduced to "fix queues" (unless you can provide solid proof for this claim). The mechanic of it was to follow an anti-tunnel playstyle (hook different survivors instead of only 1) to be then rewarded for it (25% for each unique hook).

A competent survivor can easily gain the same amount of b, usually around 20k.
Now if they manage to get the full totems most of the time, you will gain the same bp as you do right now as a killer. However as survivor you don't depend on items and even if you bring some, you keep them after a win.

Do you remember die times when wglf was strong as he'll?  Everybody played survivor and there were 45 mim queue times.

It doesn't matter whether you tunnel or not, you only need to hook everyone once and fact is, once you tune led the first game you slowed down the game hard enough in order to play with the other 3 survivors

  • @DeadByFlashlight
I really disagree with the extent of the power of communication you are suggesting. Except for the timing of going for an unhook, there is really not that much of an effect if someone informs me about the postition of the killer. And of course, when someone dies, I get informed about the killer perks - but that should absolutely be fixed.
As a survivor, you are supposed to be working on a generator if you are not being chased. So if I am told by someone running OoO or alert
"The killer is in the shack" or "He is on the other side of the map" or whatever, it really doesn't change the way I play. I still work on a generator. If someone tells me "The killer is coming toward your position", usually a lot of time passes between the observant noticing, telling me, and me registrating and processing the information, so unless I'm playing a Myers or a Wraith, the terror radius would have given away that information anyway and the time I gain from the earlier notice to react accordingly is minimal. Could be even misleading.
And for knockout, from my experience a good random survivor can still guess well where the downed person lies, it's not as strong of a perk anyway.
For bond, since it works only in relatively close proximity, it is still as useful in SWF as with randoms since in that active range, things can change so fast, no verbal communication can account for that.
I really find the value of verbal communication is overestimated, it is absolutely useful, but not necessarily game-changing. Except for some special cases like adrenaline plays as @Terrortot described, and well of course the telling of killer perks after someone dies. But for that, someone first has to die, which means the killer wasn't so powerless to begin with.

Just because your swf doesn't use the full advantage of voice comms, dont assume that everyone does not.
I have experienced it myself, playing trpaper vs a coordinated swf such that they even disarm traps for each other midchase. I simply dc in those games where I don't see a reason to play.

Sure not everybody plays like that, but if you don't take the full potential of voice comms into account when balancing the game, what Iß the killer supposed to do when the survivors try hard?  Accept the loss, dc and hope that the next game will be better?
  • @unclevincent said:
@Terrortot ok, legit points. I believe the adrenalin story happens rather rarely, but still. I even want to add: I believe the most power out of comms from my experience is from telling each other when someone is being chased in order for another one to make an unhook.
But I've had cases when my friend on the hook told me to come unhook because the killer has left, only to find the killer approaching again at exactly the time I was running toward the hook.
Or the killer was chasing me, my mate felt safe and kept on doing his thing, only to suddenly find the killer behind him because he was unexpectedly spotted and changed targets. Just to name a couple of counter-examples.
You can never EXACTLY INSTANTLY tell where a killer is, and in DBD a whole situation can change in a matter of seconds, noone can communicate that fast.
Without looking around and being aware of the surroundings, the comms are useless, so it takes a good survivor from the start, and that has nothing to do with SWF itself at first. At first. But I get that skilled players like to team up.

    @DeadByFlashlight
No worries friend, I understand what you are saying :) You are still describing the problem that a skilled survivor can single-handedly outplay a skilled killer, which is not a problem of SWF in the first instance.
You are saying since very good survivors team up, we shouldn't have SWF. That's like saying STDs are bad, there should be no more Sex. We have to adress the STD and not the Sex! SWF is great and fun, let's just give the killer some condoms to protect himself from whatever the survivors might bring when he gets action.

I am not saying that we shouldnt have SWF, I am just saying that the game should be balanced around SWF since, as long as it isnt, it represents a problem.

Look at the trapper or for example knockout, they are completely useless against a SWF, also there are survivor perks that are actually useles because you have them built in already with voice comms, bond e.g. and then there are those perks that gain insane advantage if used within a SWF, e.g. OoO or alert after the rework

and alert is actually a perfect example where the devs didnt take voice comms into account, and this in the very last patch

I don´t know what´s going on with everyone. We get more free stuff than ever before, can choose what we want, and people still complain.

You see the problem IS that the skins are so good but we are only able to get 1 for free.

But people would even cry if they would let us grind all 7 outfits. Because the lobby queues for killers will be horrendous.
Of course i would love it, if we could unlock more skins.
But what´s better? Getting more free stuff for a game that goes bankrupt in a few months
Or getting less free stuff, but supporting the game for years through skins?

Did anyone cry about the auric-only cosmetics they introduced togther with the store?
No they didnt, they only grumbled and accepted that.

The thing that upsets players is that the event is completely ruined by this cashgrab.

  • It seems like a cashgrab because it is. There is no other way to word this^^

I have not seen the new stream, but from what im reading, devs are allowing us to get only 1 outfit and others require money, I say make all outfits able to get through event, but, make the event items require auric cells after the event is over and the community will play the event longer and try to get the skins before the event is over

Exactly, this way you feel like you had a chance at least (even if you didnt because grind to extensive).
It would be a clever way to make money and maybe they wouldve even made more money this way instead of caping the amount of outfits you can get via the event and upset players.

Usually by making a cashgrab that obvious, you ruin your chance to get money from upset players that are actually willing to pay under other circumstances.
Making a cashgrab obvious usually is a bad idea - marketing-wise.

  • I have seen a trend lately that survivors just take adrenaline and dont even bother to heal themselves, just knock out the remaining gens lul

@DeadByFlashlight Exactly right on not finding a bad survivor. However, game design and point system allows you to sac 2 or get multiple hooks coupled with chase to pip up. Not designed to only be good if 4 kills, and i think that is a big frustration for some killers that dont get a 4k.

Most of the time, one skilled survivor will get half the pallets, end game the others get caught in now palletless areas.

I have been in games where I only managed to get 1 or to hooks (hooks, not kills), but ofc that wasnt on billy/nurse. If the survivors decide to genrush you, there really isnt anything you can do with an unviable killer

In fact, the tournaments have exposed really well that nurse is the only viable killer. Not sure if you watched the console one, for the competitive situation, check out the PC one^^

Highly-skilled individual players tend to group up with others because they are annoyed by their low skilled mates (a problem with the rank system allowing everyone to get rank 1), so they are commonly found in SWF

I only watched some of the PS4 ones, on PC the gameplay seems a little different which is why I find it hard to directly compare.
But what you say makes sense, highly skilled players tend to group up. But that's just a symptom and not the cause, there are many SWF groups that are not highly skilled and just want to play with their friends - as in my case. Highly skilled players will f*** up the killer anyway, having one more highly skilled player will not add much to the feeling. I see the problem more in the high skill-cap of survivors compared to most killers rather than in the sum of multiple skilled survivors.
I also agree that it's a problem everyone gets to rank 1, that would probably solve some problems.

Yeah thats because the PC community is older, in the beginning the PC players were "trash" too, sorry to put it this way^^
Then they realized how to abuse loops and how genrushing works and started playing competitively.
Then there is also the thing that the PC community tends to be more competitive than console ones (dont kill me lul), but I assume that soon the situation on console will change too and then, killers dont even have nurse as proper backup

The real issue with multiple skilled survivors is that you cant focus on the bad one, because he simply doesnt exist.
No matter which survivors you choose to chase, he will be able to loop you for several gens before you down him and thats the problem.

  • The devs even support a streamer that deranks by DCing regularly and uses MLGA.
Now they claim they want to punish DCs.

What the devs have called "rework" so far have never completely changed the killer's power (made some addons part of base kit for Doctor and Wraith, took away the self-stun after teleporting for Hag).

But man, I gotta tell ya, Freddy's power feels nothing like Freddy. The Freddy I knew was a tormenting, immaterial god in his own dream realm, warping around, phasing through walls, and shape shifting. The only time he ran in a direct line to his victims is when he was screwing with them right before he went in for the kill in some elaborate, trickster manner. In that sense, Spirit and Nurse both play more like what I'd expect Freddy to play like.

I won't even get started on Amanda (her traps should be her primary means of killing, she's never even used the dumb retractable blade in the movies) but between Freddy, Myers, and Leatherface, it seems like his gameplan would be the least likely to be "run at you until I'm in range for a mouse 1 attack" yet that's exactly what he does in this game.

TL;DR - Let Freddy briefly phase through a wall.

Freddy will be the first killer who receives a real rework, at least thats what the devs told us.
They want to rework how his power works (we dont know the plans yet), not just tweaking some numbers

Survivors will get their 15 vials in no time, but when they switch to killer, they´ll have extreme long queues.

Maybe but i wonder if we get more dc's during the event from survivors who can't get any juice from plants because they are gone and dc. Not the last event but the previous if no one burnt an offering from howling grounds you got an instant dc. Will we see that again? The way we see it is that you can earn a full outfit of your choice or 3 separate cosmetics in the new collection. This is more than what was offered in the previous events.

Transparency about how our purchases will help the game could get people to stop feeling like the devs are greedy. Or maybe they just are. Is the dev team expanding? are dedicated servers coming? where does the money go so that we can feel good about it. you know?

Deadgarden failed pretty hard, maybe they will drop that completely, maybe they will try to revive it, I dont know.

I don't think it is a matter of getting all 7 for free it is more of the grind being over quickly and virtually the event for most people. How many bloodpoints do you need at this point if you have played this game long enough. If they doubled it and made it double the vials of 30 for killer and 30 for survivor with only being able to get 1 survivor outfit and 1 killer maybe it would have been received better.

How are you willing to support the game if you're not willing to throw some cash towards the company? I personally don't buy skins. But every single video game in existence has gone down this path lately. If you want the skins that's great. If not then don't buy them. But companies have to make money as well. Playing a game you spent $30 for once isn't supporting them.

Sure, but the event is pointless then.
10 games of DBD and you are done basically, a lot of player (including myself) expected more

hmm but you lose your vial if you die? :D

No you only lose your progress until the last safety bar.
Just cap out immediately on the juice, like queen did, and you will leave the game guaranteed with 3

  • @RSB said:
Wait, what? We will be able to unlock only one set of outfit? Not all of the event ones?

Sadly no, the others need to be purchased with auric cells, even shards are not an option

Many killers always tunneled the unhooked guy, because they suck at the game. Now they have 4 extra seconds.

You can adapt to this. Change a perk to either botany or we'll make it. You'll actually end up healing faster than before the patch. That's what I did. Now I'm thinking about going for the Pharmacy perk too.

Many survivors refuse to do this though. Killers have always had to adapt to changes to why shouldn't survivors for once?

They refuse because they can only carry 4 perks and they dont want to get rid of their crutches

    Exactly.

I play survivor and killer, and as killer I'm always having to pick perks carefully and adapt to new things so it's about time survivor had to change their looping second chance build.

Currently I am running both we gonna farm forever and that chest perk, but I still dont feel the need to swap to real perks

    15 killer and 15 surivivor=30= 3 pieces ;s or 1 FULL outfit

Yes so I am done with the event after 10 games of DBD (maybe a few more if I perform badly), I earned my outfit and the event is over?

    Sad

    OMG this community.

This is supposed to be a community event, instead it turned into a cashgrab event with a lot of frustrating gameplay and only 1 out of 7 outfits is a joke. 2 wouldn't hurt them, it would still remain a joke.

The way we see it is that you can earn a full outfit of your choice or 3 separate cosmetics in the new collection. This is more than what was offered in the previous events.

And you would still make a lot of money if all outfits are earnable. Just make the grind harder with every outfit but this is just scummy. I was excited for the event, currently just disappointed.

    Exactly my thoughts.
Currently you only need 5 juice-optimal games as survivor and killer and you are done with the event.

  • @fcc2014 said:
Yeah it feels like other than bloodpoints the event will be over for most people by sunday.

I read somwhere else that the maximum you can earn is 15 on survivor and killer.
Doing optimally, this means you play 5 games on each side and you are done, I assume the event will be over even long before sunday^^

Still not sure why all you killers hate SWF. I get more hooks, kills, and points during a SWF than I do against a bunch of solo players who dont care that the other guy is being chased hooked or killed. A few times i got gen rushed and came out with less points. Is this like a high end killer problem? As a survivor so many solo players have left me on a hook (first hook) when they could have came and got me with no trouble and I died.

Look at the depip squad games. If a SWF decides to genrush, the killer goes out with very few points

@unclevincent im not salty. Just tried it, saw why its not fun, dodge ever since.  Im sure theres some killer that will take the games eventually, not entertaining to me and no reason to ready up.

I'm sorry to hear that. Of course it's your right to do so, and if SWF lobbies worked as in all other games, it wouldn't even be a problem to anyone, but I'm sure you are just missing the right strategy to make playing SWF still work for you. Maybe I'm saying this as naive PS4 player and on PC it's totally different, but on PS4 it doesn't make a huge if you play randoms or an SWF group if you play correctly (and I don't even mean camping :D).
But again, it's your right to dodge them, I don't have a problem with that. I just have a problem with people telling me it's totally ok if I waste my time just because I like to play with my friends.

Especially on PS4 SWF is even stronger because the only killer that can do well against a competent SWF (nurse) is handicapped on console.

  • 3 vials per game, 15 max on survivor/killer

That means that the event will be over really fast lol

Know when to stop a chase.

And then the next Survivor will use the same spot. Why should there be a situation where the Survivor can force the Killer to give up?

Because he doesnt know how to counter it.

So how do you counter it? Please, share your wisdom.

Counter clockwise + bamboozle. There you go

bamboozle only works on one window at a time

  • GabeN would be proud of BHVR

  • With the current dissapointment regarding balance reworks (hatch, SC,DS,gens), I am not in the mood to spend any money on skins.

  • @ComelyStar said:
7 outfits but we can only get one for free and the rest is auric cells only - what a joke!

Maybe they asked Gaben for help how to cashgrab properly.
This one is executed really well

-Hook placement is fine, why would it matter if they're beside a gen?
    -Repair time wasn't touched
-Heal time was increased by 4 seconds. Not even close to doubled

You know what else was changed?

-Slugging was made more required with the sabotage buff, but also made less viable due to the faster and higher recovery/drive by heal buff.
-Alert became insane giving mapwide aura reading, 0 cooldown, only requiring the killer do something they're doing nearly constantly (breaking pallets or gens).
-Leader/vigil/streetwise buff is decent (nothing astounding though, still great for people like me that love leader)
-flashlights made more intuitive so you no longer need to learn where on each killer to aim due to the wonky blindspots
-Hooks now at least 20m apart, so no more being hooked directly infront of your friend
-Camping now punishes the killer (emblems) as survivors have been begging for forever

But I die every time the killer kills me.
    How is that fair......

Lower ranks come with higher queues. I have never heard of 10 minute waiting periods (unless you are over exaggerating).

If you are a higher rank and getting very long queues... then I don’t know. Unless your internet is severely borked, that should not be happening.

    It doesnt matte what rank.
Lobbies are broken right now, have real trouble geting games as survivro and as killer. Its really weird.

And tomorow, the event is starting..... great....

  • there should be settings to adjust volume of such things, yeah

1 2 3 4 5 … 32
