Just bumping this since it's still relevant.

So, as I thought. The update didn't do anything with queue times. I'm a rank 1 killer, and I still have a 20 min queue. The survivors maxed out their vials and is now switching to killer in order to enjoy the massive dosage of points you get from event hooks, as they cannot milk flowers themselves..
The problem, is back! -

This is literally THE reason the killer que's are still long right now, nothing else. After 60/60 you're only getting the big bloodpoint chunks on killer because they can still use the event hooks.
Precisely.
The queue was actually pretty decent following the change that allowed both sides to farm all vials but when the survivors maxed out (again), the killer queue just reverted back into wait-o-mania again since killers can still get points despite being maxed out. -
It takes 5-15 minutes for me (at Rank 3) on PC to get survivors into my Lobby.

Asymmetrical Game.This. Survivors shouldn't have perks that are on par with Killer perks.

Spirit, all the way. Hag might have Ruin as a perk but you can get that one with luck from the Shrine.

Remember that killer's perks are more powerful than survivors'.Hahah. Good one.

It'd only really be good if the side with 6 perk slots was the killer, as they're supposed to be in a Power Role. Survivors with 6 perks would be a horrid nightmare.

Ok lets make it fare. Remove bbq AND wglf, chests from the maps, survivors lose their items and addons after each game when they escapeIt's only fair that survivors should suffer as killers do.

As is said in the pinned posts, lobby issues will continue to monitored and we hope that the issue doesn't arise again. It'll probably return in a milder form (10-20 minutes instead of 20-60 minutes) when the survivors cap out at 60 again, since the only way for them to really get those flower points is to rely on random survivors not having had their fill..

Another "[BAD WORD] you" to one part of their community. And even more worse considering they're completely unwilling to balance the game around the power that a SWF squad have. They prefer to just play around a bit around solo 20 survivors..
It's almost like they don't play their own game and haven't experienced it at the highest rank..

I think it's common knowledge at this point that the developers don't play their own game and rely on data gathering when making decisions.Said it before in another thread https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/11734/lets-play-killer-day-for-the-developers but I want to say it again, the developers NEED to play their own game, against ACTUAL PLAYERS, in order to better understand it.
So far the only dev ive seen play at red ranks was not_Queen. She plays atleast around rank 4-ish on both survivor and killer
I'd not count her as a developer though. She's a community manager, the public face for the developers.

When you've been saving and trying to avoid spending shards and keep buying characters. Then when you resist the temptation to splurge and save up for that expensive outfit.
Farewell 21600 Iridescent Shards, I treasured you while I had you sniffle.
I only got the dress myself. I didn’t really like the look of the Odachi or her bun. I hope they come out with some new blades for her. Though I don’t think i’ll ever changer her default hair, I absolutely adore the original hair.
Doesn't the cloth constantly block your view thanks to jiggle physics and stuff? It looked so bad when I saw Truetalent play with that cosmetic.
Yup, that's a big problem with it, similar to the yellow apron our dear Leatherface wears - I always think I caught a glimpse of a survivor, then I realize it's my effin' cloth...
But's let's get real here, showing off is more important, isn't it?Function before Flashiness

Let's make the killer a pinata and give the survivors bats that they can use to whack the killer for points!

Or maybe it's because people got their survivor vials already and want the killer vials now? This is a more realistic assumption.

Shadowborn's FOV and MnA's FOV are the same, from my understanding but they're still a bit different in how they provide it.
Shadowborn offers a constant increased FOV at the cost of a weakness to flashlights (really noticable).
MnA offers it outside chases, together with lowered TR, and reverts back to default FOV in chases. This is just all wrong.
First of all, no they are not the same FoV, Shadowborn is a larger field of view. Shadowborn is consistent always and MnA fluctuates whether you're in a chase. Shadowborn does not increase your weakness to flashlights either, that was removed.
Ah, my fault.

At the moment I don't have more information, I'll keep you posted.

There is one, already? Well, not really barbed wire per say but definitely nailed.
Aluminium baseball bat though. -
If I had to run an exhaustion perk, it'd probably be Lithe.

To be honest, that was the plan all along.

If you could pick flowers as a survivor past 30, the queues would stabilize. I am not saying that they get more vials, but just straight up telling survivors "no" to picking flowers when 30 vials.. eh..

(Some people may think that it's too OP, but it's still a end perk and is realy weak right now.)
This would be interesting: Mind if I ask some questions?
Does Hope trumps Third Seal and NOED?
Does Hope remove the Adrenaline exhaustion that you instantly get during the exit gates being powered?-No, Hope doesn't work on Adrenaline exhaustion.
It's one or the other, then?

Most of your changes are just raw nerfs..

You shouldn't implement a thing that forces the killers to waste their time.

My goal is;
Doctor Body + Head
Huntress Body + Weapon
Wraith Body + Head -
Heck no.

You do realize you have to play both to get all the vials for 2 outfits? You are basically complaining that half your challenges are too difficult.Did you not see how many hooks equal one vial for killer?
Honestly, how many?
6 (six) is required. Unless there's 4 offerings burnt every game, it requires a maximum of 3 games (provided you hook survivors at event hooks every game) for a single vial.
-
To be honest, just pretend like the killer has NOED and behave accordingly and you'll be fine.
-
@Master said:
The last survivor dies instantly on the hook because otherwise they would hold the game hostage for another 2 minutes. This used to be a thing back in the day, if I recall it. The devs eventually made it so that the last survivor just dies when hooked.
-
I haven't reached rank 1 as Killer yet, even after 700 hours.. Mainly because the playerbase's toxicity levels skyrocket the closer you get there.

Survivors don't really need even more power. Killers already lose all bloodlust should they so much as glance at a dropped pallet.

Two main issues I have with this event - queue times and game experience.
Killer queues take forever. I'm rank 12, right in the middle of where most people should be, and it takes an eternity to get a game. This was already a problem during right after the rank reset, but got better over time as the player distribution started to be within the same rank pool.
My other issue is in-game experience. Since I started the event, I had NO REAL GAMES both as survivor and killer. Every killer just wants to farm when I play survivor and every survivor just doesn't try when I play killer. This takes away the experience of the actual game. I can't even bare to play right now.
One of the main problems I see is that this extra objective is highly individual on the survivor side. It's possible that you put in an offering and never get to touch a single juice plant, thus getting nothing from the game. Not to mention that most players just spend their time running around the map not doing anything except looking for these plants. This mechanism doesn't really encourage team play, especially with strangers, and also slows the game down considerably that barely any gens getting done in the first 3-4 minutes of the game.
That being said, this means killers can now have more time to hunt survivors, right? No... no, the killers that I have come up against just want to farm during the event. Four (4) games in a row was nothing but killers wanting to farm. For whatever reason, these farming killers think they are doing a favor to me by allowing me to have 0 challenge in my games. It's the opposite, I want to experience the game in proper, not just get points. This isn't FarmVille or Clicker Heroes. I have absolutely no interest in those types of games and it's no fun as a survivor. Plus, these farming killers are hogging up all of the killer queues where killers who actually WANT to play the game properly have to wait ages for their room to be filled.
On the killer side, I get into games where survivors also expect nothing but farming. Or just die without a challenge because there are no gens pressuring me (because they are running around looking for nectar plants).
Also, the nectar bar only saves at every 1/3 of the tube as survivor. What is the actual purpose of this?? As if it wasn't hard enough getting nectar plants, you can't even keep what you got in the first place.
I like that the devs are trying something different from previous events, but this doesn't really work in my opinion. One of the best events to-date, personally, was the Summer BBQ event. In that event, you were still doing a shared objective and the benefits are actually shared with all other teammates. There was also push and pull between killers and survivors. Killers could use Event generators as a mark, where he/she knows survivors want this objective. Working as a team to finish these gens feels rewarding and earned. Sure, there were killers that still wanted to farm, but not nearly as many as this Halloween Blight event so far.
It is possible that I'm just having bad games so far, but there are flaws within this event system, and I think BHVR can improve on them.
I really like this event, im getting 80-100k EVERY match and saying "GG EZ GAME EZ LIFE" or "GG 2 EZ, followed by a GG = Git Gud" because of no gens done at Rank 1 while survivors cry me a river on the chat. Feels good man! :chuffed:
And that attitude right there coupled with the crappy Survivor nerfs this patch and this ######### event is why Killers have a ridiculous que time because no one wants to play with all these toxic ######### in this game now.
Queue times are high because there are 4 times more killers around. Since every survivor main tries to get those killer vials.
Oh and the patch was the most balanced one we got this year.
Also gonna mention that the additional objectives for survivors takes a ######### load of pressure off the killer's back, making the game faaar more enjoyable overall.

The worst thing about the killer vials is the wait time inbetween games.
-
Darn, people were busy. I've only gathered like 22 or so out of 60.

Here's what I learned from this event: Survivors are OK with Killers helping them complete their side of the event, but they won't let Killers hook them in return.Survivors will always have the "fudge the killer" mentality to them, even with the killer being willing to farm.
-
For me (Sweden) it varies depending on time of day.
Mornings and early days are gonna be spent waiting 5-15 minutes for survivors while evenings are really fast. -
