Only her add-ons needed a rework, not also giving her power a cooldown. The developers once again outright ignored their community in favor of going the step beyond.
Its infuriating to me how little they care.
-
Meanwhile ranking up as survivor is the other way around. I can do extremely bad and end up dying first but still pip, because.. I guess?

It doesnt matter if they upset us or not.
People will still be willing to blindly defend the devs so why would they care?
They DO care when their revenue's suffering an impact. That's why I think they changed level 3 to begin with. People stopped doing challenges and progressing the Rift. If people don't care for the Rift, then why'd they buy the pass itself or buy tiers?

The "Master" Challenges tied to the lore in this tome (4) are beyond lame.
3 pieces of lore tied behind challenges that require either extreme RNG or farming to get? Forced to rely on the skills of others to determine whether you complete YOUR challenges?
I mean, for example, that I could escape 100 matches in a row, but never get the challenge completed because of a teammate dying :(
The Killer side is not much better - Farming will probably be necessary for the Trapper one, while the 4x Basement kill challenge is going to be nigh impossible once people realize you are going for it (they'll just stay as far away as possible).
I hope they look at these, too :(
Since the developers decided to ease up the bullshit in Level 3, I wonder if they'll preemptively lessen the bullshit in Level 4 before it releases or if they're just gonna drop it and wait until people get upset.. again.

Demogorgon makes me want a werewolf. The general body shape would be pretty similar.
Same. Might be a bit cliché but what the hell!

I've not even gotten to play him yet as killer queues are 15-20+ minutes here in Sweden for some reason. Survivor's instant, though.

I agree, I think this would be a great QOL change. Perhaps they could also add the ability to save cosmetic layouts while they're at it ☺️
Saved loadouts is a suggestion that I've seen since release of the game.

You guys are honestly still complaining... Nurse IS the best killer still, no other way around it. The cooldown isnt even that long, you just need to be more precise and careful with your blinks.
That's not the problem people have with the cooldown. Its that playing her is far more BORING due to the increased downtime. The increased downtime also means that its far more punishable to play Nurse, so players learning her is bound to give up faster.
The cooldown on Blink never should have happened. Everyone wanted an add-on rework but Behavior outright ignores what the community thinks.

They legit don't care. My Thread in general is gonna be ignored cause i wasn't "Calm and collected."
They've invested far too much time in Legion to just "rework" them (again) at this point. Thanks to Legion and Deep Wound, they've suffered a lot of headaches.
-
Currently 26 or 27, somewhere there. I've almost completed tome level 1-2. Haven't started on level 3 yet.

They could delete/disable Haddonfield and that in itself would be an improvement.
My bet is on Sheltered Woods, though. Which wouldn't be bad either, and is probably one of the easier maps to give much needed TLC to.
Why'd they rework shelter woods when the community is basically begging for Haddonfield to come under the knife?
...
...actually, you're probably right. Why'd they listen to the community?
-
Hopefully Haddonfield but there's a lot of simple fixes they can do to improve the QoL for killers on most maps with awful loops by disabling the RNG involved that triggers them. Like, remove the randomness so that the fallen silo window never spawns in Torment Creek. Or that middle window in the abattoir..
It really shouldn't be that hard to "implement".

Apparently they haven't been released yet. Last I heard, they were due to go out December 5 but have been delayed due to bug fixes.
Delayed due to bugs? Oooh nooo!

Take a 100 or so off Demon Strike's bp event and make it deviousness. Would solve it.
-
Brutal Strength beats shred if you're right next to the pallet and can break it normally. However, I'd claim that Shred beats Brutal Strength in every other scenario since you can Shred a pallet from a distance.

They're afraid to create another viable killer like nurse.
↑This.

Because they add and changes stuff despite input from the community asking them otherwise. Doesn't help that critical game-breaking bugs pops up every update.

DC penalties aren't live. (The devs said yesterday they would not start on the 5th.) However, it's probably going to happen soon.
Soon™

@immortalls96 are you ok?
Thana dont need buff (because it has its niche like legion, plague, certain freddy build)
plague and GF are in good spot atm (well im kinda ify about players that play him like myers and stalk you on your face)
dying light what kind of feedback you mean? its great perk and its one of best perk rework they made, if anything i would rather make so thana, dying light and other % slowdown dont stack with each other so forever freddy wont be a thing
about nurse rework i love it, it made playing her more punishable for bad players(base kit) and omega + 3 blink nurses are dead and thats great
maybe they dont listen to that feedback because they know its just whiny feedback?
@se05239 if you think they dont care what do you even do here? btw majority of ppl here dont know how is it to play on other side and there is other chunk of ppl that believes in everything their fav streamer tells and youre telling me devs should make sth just because (for example) 2k ppl took some words from streamer as given without using brain and are spreading that
OFC they made many questionable decisions (like giving away those skins) but pretty much always some ppl will be happy some will be upset, when you use argument "they pushed update with gamebreaking bug" at 1st they fixed it pretty soon, 2nd you dont want to see sh.. storm when they wouldnt launch dlc
You're damn right about that I believe that they don't care. They've not listened to the community properly in a looong time.
As for why am I here? I am passionate about this game and I've been here (not technically here on the forum) since the release of the game.
-
Her add-ons definitely needed a change but her basekit didn't. Its just another perfect example of Behavior going further than necessary with nerfing. They're just doing their thing anyway. Our voice doesn't matter.
-
Gonna go for a "mask-less" cosmetic costing shards (+ auric cells) on the cheaper side. Most killers with masks lack facial animations and such, Behavior would maybe have to rig up their faces somewhat for it to work.
-
Every game I played yesterday as survivor were against Oni. In the red ranks on PC.
-
Community interaction and the community's opinions in general haven't mattered to Behavior for a long time. Unless its causing people to stop playing (archive challenges being too hard) or something ends up being literally game-breaking (basement bug), they don't give a crap.
They're doing their own race.

TBH, as soon as there's a new map available.. Nurse gets ######### over.

Back when MLGA worked, users of the software basically put themselves into a metaphorical dead zone as they blocked every person they played against/with. The same thing would happen if you could "avoid" players.

Just think about it all that wan't to criticize, you spend your fair hard earned money on a digital character that is intended to entertain you, you love character his design power everything and the developers of said product, despite your feedback, despite your money decides.... hey let's do what the community doesn't ask for any constantly change the original character you spent money on into a realm of utter weakness compared to his original self, the community originally asked to make legion more fun for both sides... the devs have yet to do that. And you are the unlucky sucker that loved that character and feels now swindled.
The honest truth of it all is that if Behaviors' game didn't have a monopoly on the genre, Dead by Daylight would be nowhere near as popular as it is right now. There's no better alternative out there for the players, and Behavior knows that.

@anarchy753 said:
Because absolute transparency makes the community feel like they have the right to demand this, that and the other thing even more than they already do. It's still the devs' game and it's up to them what happens.
Also a lot of what we see comes through community managers, we get responses when there's an agreed upon response to be had. It's probably the same reason we don't see a lot of devstreams any more, they get sick of saying "That's an interesting idea, but it's not on our radar at the moment."
Peanits does a lot of responding, and is more often than not the voice of reason on "nerf X" posts to point out why suggestions are simply not a fair change, but they don't need to respond to every single thread to be active.
When there is a severe issue, and people are demanding answers or changes, it's probably better for them to stay quiet than to say something uncertain and be held to that later. Like the Tome changes, there were pages of threads on it, but there's no sense saying "we're looking into it" until they actually knew for sure that changes would be made, or they may have to return with "nothing's changing" which would feel worse with false hope.
The problem is that transparency ISN'T a bad thing either. Look at games like MHW and Deep Rock Galactic. The developers are sharing lots of the communities over there and even LISTENS to popular feedback and the communities aren't "demanding" that the developers implement things.
The fact that Behavior used to listen and care what their community makes it all even worse. The only valuable members of the community to them in the current era of DbD are those influencers on Twitch and people who buy cosmetics without a care in the world.
-
Out of the choices available, it'll have to be Jason.
-
Nurse is gone. Survivors celebrate. Mission accomplished.
-
Because it was possible to stun the killer, reset the pallet while they were stunned and stun them again.

Meta is strong but often not fun. At least, I don't think so.

Are the devs going to give is something for buying a premium pass for their broken game? I think it's wrong that the challenges have been not working right "not giving the right amount of iridescent emblems" on top of this new get downed in the basement once and fall off the map. It has made this game unplayable and it's super hard to complete challenges in a broken game. I understand things happen but i don't think your loyal fan base should pay for the devs mistakes.
Behavior ain't gonna be giving you something for buying their Premium track. They'll be walking to the bank, cashing in the money and think up new ways to swindle money off your hands.
-
At this point, they should just rework DW into something else.
-
Welcome to Dead by Daylight! The game that's well renowned for having possibly the worst new player experience in the entire gaming industry.
-
The best buff that WGLF could get is to reward survivors with a stack for healing another survivor per health state, on top of protection hits and safe unhooks.
-
What surprises me is how this bug didn't exist in the PTB itself but appeared magically when the update went Live.
Here's to hoping that Behavior fixes it real fast.
-
Because of Legion. Again.
-
Wow.. Deep Wound is like a minor nuisance now. If you hold shift you're basically immune to it. Impressive, Behavior.. impressive.

It's not as grindy as you think it is. I'm at Tier 60 right now and I haven't even claimed my Master challenges. Then again I've also been playing non-stop, so I'm not exactly an "average casual player"
Precisely. I am away from home about 12-13 hours every day, due to commuting distances and such, and I don't have the pleasure to play the game non-stop everyday. I can squeeze in an hour and two tops. I am like.. tier 23-24 in the Rift.
-
I am mostly just worried the changes be too weak or incomplete to have an impact.
-
I've been a loud supporter of implementing a UI element that shows who's in a SWF and with who, and then add a incentive for solos/Killers to play with/against SWFs.

Its actually been gaining players based off the steam charts. Compared to where it was at at March of this year with an average playerbase of 16k ppl on at any given time, its currently sitting pretty at about 23k ppl online. With the release of DBD on the windows store as well as more ports OUTSIDE of PC, its actually doing pretty well growing.
The problem with the Steam charts is that it doesn't show if that's the old players playing/returning or if its a constant flood of new players who'll stop playing within a month, only to be replaced by more new players.

The ranking system for both sides needs looking at, but I definitely agree that in terms of ease of ranking up the survivor system is awful. Luckily, according to their roadmap, the rank system is scheduled for a rework some time in the next few months, so hopefully we'll be seeing some changes coming soon.
Hopefully it ain't Victory Cube all over again.

Its a relic from the past.
-
I'd have liked the archive more if it wasn't made to be in conjunction with the Rift. The time-gated levels, the obscenely over-the-top challenges.. its not done so that casual players can have fun and unlock lore entries. Its done so that people would give in and purchase tiers from the Rift, because how could they possibly earn enough Fragments?

It's because the monopolized a market, not because the game is good. As you said, no game that has the concept of an A-Symmetrical Horror has done well, but that doesn't mean DBD is doing well either, it's simply doing better then the rest.
IMO BHVR has gotten lazy, and are happy with the bare minimum. Why try when you know nothing else can touch you? It's why I'm hoping Last Year's steam release succeeds because BHVR needs competition too make them try.
Behavior's lacking competition and have gone lazy, definitely.

Steam charts are high because it's always discounted
It was discounted last week.
This weekend
It gets discounted every month basically
That's why they are high
You're welcome
Not to mention, it doesn't actually show how many players actually STAY to play Dead by Daylight in the long run. Imagine if 60-80% of the player numbers shown on the charts are actually players who'll stop playing Dead by Daylight within a week or two, and they're just constantly being replaced by other new players who got the game through a sale.
The "new player" experience that Dead by Daylight have is known to be one of the worst out there.
-
- The "de-pip" is actually a visible bug, from my experience. You don't actually derank.
- It was done intentionally because back in the day, the last survivor didn't die right away when they were put on a hook. So survivors used this fact to spend the whole 2½ minutes on the hook, fighting their impending death, to spite the killer. TBH, if you're the last survivor you've had a chance to find and hatch and/or escape through the door when the killer closed the hatch already.. so 600 struggle points ain't much compared to that.
