  • Will the hatch now spawn wide open no matter how many survivors are left?

  • @rabid_pygmy said:

@scorpio As soon as the killer shuts the hatch, gates are powered, even if no gens are done at all. On a side note, now that killers can open gates too, I could see some sneaky ones running insidious, noed, and camping just behind a pillar. Would be funny when it works.

My other comment got deleted. So does the hatch spawn opened now? Like if 3 gens are done and 2 survivors are left, the hatch would spawn but usually wouldn’t open until only 1 is left. Does it now spawn and open right away?

If this is the case, I’m torn on how I feel about it lol I’m asking in the Q&A, hopefully they’ll tell us for sure in their next stream.

@scorpio From what the video showed, and only going off of that until more info is revealed, it seems like once the hatch spawns, which I assume still requires the current criteria, the Killer can close it.

So, for example, two survivors sacrificed but three gens done. At that point, the killer can run and close the hatch and end game collapse begins.

Once the hatch is closed, as shown when Trapper closes it around the 29-second mark in the video, the exit gates are powered and all remaining gens are blocked off. Survivors now have to open the gates and get out, or get killed. Especially nasty with NOED, and Not_Queen already posted in a thread that some end game Perks are changing, but not NOED. So, survivors better cleanse those totems!

But the hatch doesn’t open until only 1 survivor is left... unless now it spawns and opens simultaneously? And so does this mean on End Game Collapse you can open the gates when the gens aren’t all done? If that’s the case then I’m not sure I’m a fan, unless it was with only 1 survivor left. If there’s 2-3, they should have to finish the gens. @not_Queen if you aren’t too busy and can shed some light? Or @Peanits ?

  • I hope they don’t change BW honestly because I think that would be a very cool mechanic. Also someone else mentioned it seems weird the timer slows down when someone is dying/hooked instead of speeds up to put pressure on survivors to act. I feel like that would be cool but we’ll see! I’m excited to test it out.

  • I’m still confused about some stuff. The generators get blocked, which doesn’t matter at all when they’re all done anyway. It will only matter when one survivor is left. When the killer closes the hatch, does that mean the survivor can open the exit even though all gens weren’t done because it’s in end game collapse? Or will he just be stuck there for 3 minutes until the entity eats him?

  • @Peanits said:

The issue I see with that is that you still have a category that either gives you all our nothing. If you do really well, save some people, do some generators, and then die trying to save someone, you get nothing and you're 5/6k points lower than you could be.

Personally, I'd rather see the escape points reduced and instead give people points based on how long they've survived. For example, 1,000 per generator that has been completed by the time you're sacrificed, 3,000 for escaping, total of 8,000. That way you're rewarded for surviving as long as you can, but you don't lose a bunch of points just because you didn't get out the gate.

That makes sense. I would also say you should get less points for a hatch escape than an escape through the gates like someone suggested above. It would make it so the last survivor in a match with both gates open has no reason to essentially hold the game hostage looking for the hatch.

It’s meant to be used when the generators aren’t done and the gates aren’t opened so that the last survivor left alive has a chance to escape. Therefore, it doesn’t make sense to me that the survivor then gets more points for escaping through the hatch than they would have for escaping through the gate, when they and their team did worse overall in the match because they didn’t finish the generators. Same for people who use a key to escape early — they shouldn’t get more points for doing less.

They should change the stun timer to 4 seconds yeah because against enduring its useless. And change the timer too, 60s is too short, 120 more usefull and balanced

It’s meant to counter tunneling, not to once again be a get out of jail free card like the current DS.

If the killer finds you 90 seconds after you were unhooked, that’s not a tunnel — that’s just playing the game. The killer shouldn’t be punished for NOT tunneling.

If the devs made it longer than 60 seconds or gave it no timer, there would be no reason for the killer NOT to just tunnel, eat the DS, tunnel again, down, and hook. With 120 seconds or no timer, the killer knows they would (likely or definitely, depending) end up getting hit with the DS eventually anyway. Avoiding DS is the incentive. If it cannot be avoided, that takes away any incentive NOT to tunnel someone off the hook. 60 seconds is long enough for the player to get away, heal, hide, find a good looping spot, etc. while incentivizing the killer to chase someone else. If it’s too long, the killer has no reason not to get it out of the way right away and continue to tunnel.

If the killer doesn’t tunnel you off the hook and you therefore are able to run away and heal and start working on a gen while the timer runs out, then even though you didn’t jump off their shoulder, the perk still did its job.

Yes because certain whiny killer mains on here and Steam forums haven't being complaining about BT (got nerfed). Adrenaline late game perk can be removed by killing the survivor.

Insert whiny entitled rant about x perk they lose to here, each time something gets nerfed they simply move onto the next thing to complain about. That's not to say DS didn't need a nerf it did but to say move onto another perk misses the point.

    Wow.

  • I wish that with Thana as it currently is, a dead survivor would count as an injured survivor so the small 4% or 5% debuff would be permanent. That’s not a huge number like DL so it wouldn’t be game breaking or anything and makes more sense to me.

  • @Mister_xD said:

you cant kill a perk that is already in the corner of dead perks.

seriously though, who in the world is even using this? there are so many better perks, like whispers...

Obviously some people are. If you aren’t then it doesn’t affect you anyway so instead of leaving pointless comments, maybe try leaving one supporting those who DO use it and their wishes for the change not to happen.

I don’t use it, the change doesn’t affect me, but from what I’ve heard from everyone who does use it, the cool down is a huge nerf. Devs listened to the complaints of people who don’t and won’t use the perk either way who said that it was annoying, rather than listening to the people who do use it and said it’s fine as is.

So devs, don’t change the perk. The people complaining won’t use it either way and those who do will be negatively impacted by this change. Just leave it as is.

  • Throw pallets early and try to find areas with lots of windows. Teammates rush gens while you run and keep him busy for as long as you can.

  • End game. Hatch stand offs, having to camp a hook at the end of a bad match when the gates are open, then having survivors run in and body block and use Borrowed Time anyway. End game just sucks.

I use the green ones that make his Tier 3 last longer and the one that makes you gain evil quicker when stalking survivors. I don't remember the names. The icon for one looks like a bow or bowtie and the other looks like a dollar bill or something, both green.

  • My ######### comment disappeared. The gist was, playing against Legion is unfun and tedious, and it has nothing to do with whether you win or lose. Legion is broken, period. I would rather play against any other killer in the game and get absolutely stomped on than play against Legion and win. He is a fun sponge. He sucks any and all fun out of the game for everyone else and keeps it for himself.

You KNOW that people hate playing against him and you choose to do it anyway, therefore you are knowingly choosing to ruin the fun of the survivors you’re versing. Now you are complaining that they are in return ruining your fun by DCing. It’s ironic and hypocritical. Yes, he’s in the game and yes you have the right to play him, but that doesn’t mean you SHOULD play him. However, if you still choose to play Legion, knowing full well how unfun he is to play against, then in my opinion you have no right to complain when people DC and ruin your fun in return

I don’t condone DCing, but I completely understand it. No one wants to waste their limited and valuable free time playing an unfun match. And they shouldn’t be forced to. This is why BHVR hasn’t implemented harsh rules or punishments for DCing, and I don’t think they should. What they should do is rework Legion into a killer that obeys the rules of the game and is fun to play as AND against. Until then, when you choose to play him, you do so knowing you are ruining others’ fun and that they are very likely to ruin yours in return. And in my opinion, you deserve it.

100% agreed. I am all for making it harder to rank up (they need to add some reward for doing so but that's another topic) but this seems to have gone too far the other way. Have other people had similar experiences? I am playing this new killer who I am not good at yet so maybe it would be different if I was playing Spirit or someone but like, a 3k with a DC is a 3k with a DC no matter what killer it is. Seems like that should be a black pip in most cases. It's not like I was using Insidious and basement camping either, I was chasing and using my power and all that.

    Yea, that's the whole point?

Lmao "I want my effortless kills to be instant thanks BHVR".

If you want to run mori's deal with the extra time you waste doing the animation, as opposed to the two extra hooks you'd have to go through, seems fair to me.

If that’s the point then why aren’t they all the same length? That makes absolutely no sense.

  • If they fail to cleanse in time they should either a) get the broken status effect or b) enter the dying state. SOMETHING. And cleansing at a fountain should only heal the infection, not the wound as well. As it stands, the killer has no reason to infect someone then chase someone else. Right now infecting doesn’t help much at all really, you might as well just hit them. Plus with her being so tall she can be looped to death. And I agree infection on objects needs to last longer as well. A few tweaks and I think she could be good but as of right now, she’s pretty meh.

  • Her mori is way too long too. I wish the devs would consider how much time is wasted during a mori animation when creating them. The length of the Pig’s should be the standard.

  • Yeah I don’t understand why that’s a thing? If you’re injured and infected, the fountain should only cure the infection and then you should have to heal normally. It doesn’t make sense for the fountain to heal both.

  • I am bad at Nurse but when I still wanted to learn her I had a game where the survivors were obsessed with my Ruin totem so I didn’t end up going far from it because there was always somewhere there. Eventually I just decided I didn’t care about kills, I just wanted to save my Ruin.

They finished all the gens and then instead of leaving, all four came over and tried to work together to get my Ruin. One would be down, one would be injured, one trying to loop me while the last was on the totem, etc. this went on for a LONG time of me chasing, injuring, downing, someone healing and getting up while I down someone else. Finally after forever, 2 of them ended up bleeding out (from being downed over and over again and then picked back up because I had no time to hook anyone) and I then sacrificed 2 on the hook.

The kicker is, they were really mad at ME in post game chat. I just laughed and laughed. Top 5 favorite games I’ve ever played. They could have all escaped long before but they turned it into a 4K being greedy lol.

    "Don't use it"
Listen bud, they actually don't want to use it. And it's not about liking or not, it's about bad button layouts.

On PS4 the switch is linked to L2 and R2 buttons and I seldom press them by mistake. Maybe on PC the key is bad: I don't know...

I use an Xbox controller, it is WAY too easy to set the controller down wrong or accidently hit the buttons and screw your match up because now you're loading in with a perkless killer or something of that nature. The detriment FAR outweighs any benefit imo. Slightly more convenient for some people, but for lots of people it causes way more headache than it solves, considering what is "solves" was never a problem anyway.

The problem is the same crap you see in For Honor. These stupid "rules" crybabies make up in their heads and expect people to follow.

If I have a medkit and think it will help, I'll bring a medkit. If I want to try and go for an epic flashlight save, I'm bringing a flashlight.

Dodge me killers, go ahead. Maybe when you keep taking 20 years to find a match or always suck because you never learn to deal with items, you'll finally stop lobby dodging.

    Fun fact:
Its the survivors side having the longer queue times right now

Oh and btw, survivors made up a bunch of made up rules, so why should killers not be allowed to do the same?

Nobody should be making up rules and expecting people to follow them.

And no, I've had long wait times as killer too. I find matches faster as killer than survivor on average.

It reminds me of that "don't enviromental kill me" crap in For Honor. It's "dishonorable" to knock someone off a ledge, yet the devs put it there for just that purpose.

Both sides need to stop expecting people to follow these arbitrary rules. Until the devs remove x item or perk, it's in the game and nobody is a POS for using it, despite how you personally feel about it. Lobby dodging is just cheap and a way for bad players to attempt EZ wins.
Psssr. The same logic applies to lobby dodging. It’s in the game. Killers can see you and your items and decide whether they want to put up with the bullshit or not. Stop whining about it. Try playing without all OP add ons and maybe you’ll get games. Otherwise, suck it up.

There are so many ways to help make items less usable. Nurse's, Coulrophobia, Overwhelming, Franklin's, Lightborn, Ruin, NOED to help with people who Gen-rush...I don't understand.

Six out of the seven perks you mentioned are teachables from six different killers, four of whom are from paid DLCs. The seventh can be disabled before it ever activates. Also, killers, like survivors, only have four perk slots. They can't afford to run every single perk just to counter items. Dodging is easier, so they go with that instead.

It's really simple. Look at the items they have; pick a perk or two to counter them.

You can't complain about someone not having perks when the SOS exists and if the killer doesn't want to level up others; that's their problem. Not the survivors.

And if you get dodged, that’s your problem, not the killers. Sorry killer is hard enough. If there are 2+ toolboxes in my lobby, I’m out. The gen rush is bad enough without them.

Only way you could outplay it in that situation is if you evade them long enough that they potentially use their Mori on another Survivor. If it's a kill all mori that's just bad luck.

But ds got from the most broken perk in the game to the most usseles.. (only work if the killer dont have a mori and let you in the floor)

Seriously, how many killers do you see bringing in moris every single trial? And how many survivors do you see staying on the floor without being rescued for a full minute? You're making a mountain out of a molehill.

I have only seen decisive strike in swf groups..
Oh and today i found 3 moris..

DS doesn't save you in a mori game even with the current DS.

You can easily hook 3 people without them getting the 35% and then mori them. It's not hard to dribble the obsession to the hook either.

With 3 hooks per survivor that's 12 hooks. Obviously the problem with DS was that the more hook attempts you have, the higher chance that you will take a DS. For example you'll probably manage to dribble the obsession to the hook at least once in every game, however when doing it 3 times in a row there is normally a time when they're just too far and you have to take the stun or leave them slugged.

Same for the 35%. It usually isn't an issue but the more attempts you have the higher the chance of them activating it. Normally in a game you don't get a basement hook, but when you do that's normally when the 35% DS gets you. Or late game too when after a few sacrifcies there are less hooks on the map.

I've had ebony mori games where DS never got used. With 4 hooks rather than 12 the odds of taking a DS become much lower.

So personally I really don't see this as any different. Only the obsession really got a chance before in a mori game.

Your right, but why the currently ds there's more chance than use than now..

Because current DS is brokenly overpowered, which is why they are fixing it. Are you sure you have 1k hours? It sounds like you are new to the game and don't know what's going on.

So do i have your permission to bring Frank Tape+ Cold Dirt and an ebony? 8-)

  • So don’t use it? There are tons of useless perks on both sides. This one was OP, now it’s situational. If you couldn’t win without old DS then you are not good.
  • I like everything except the obsession changing part. That part needs to go. Otherwise, great change.
  • 100% agreed. I guess they did this so survivors with DS don’t start the match as the obsession but if the killer already has an obsession perk then who cares? Someone has to be the obsession so this won’t mayter. If the killer doesn’t have an k obsession perk then sure let the obsession start/show up after the DS but having it switch around is stupid and should be removed. Fiesta DS used = obsession with no killer obsession perk. Otherwise, business as usual. I like DL and this nerf is ridiculous and uncalled for considering how hard it is to make DL useful as it is! Now it will be near useless.

Maybe, or broken depending on what happens if you kill the obsession before the DS user becomes the new obsession. If there is no obsession switch once first obsession is killed, cool and might be a buff. But if it switches and DL turns off until you kill that one too, then that’s a major nerf.

  • Yeah I would really like to hear their answers to that. I hope if an obsession was already killed in the game then there will be no obsession switch. That’s the only fair thing I can think of and I hope that’s how it will work. I also wish being the obsession had an inherent down side, whether killer had an obsession perk or not. Without one, being the obsession means nothing. It would be better if being the obsession was something you wanted to avoid no matter what.
