  • This would be amazing. I have so many add ons and offerings that I will NEVER use and if I could "sell" them for some percent of the BP I spent on them, I would rather do that than have them taking up space. 50% of the BP you spent sounds more than fair to me but I would honestly take any amount of BP just to be rid of unwanted add ons and offerings.

Ive been wondering this for a while. If a killer gets near the exit gate and "the entity" blocks the exit why does it only affect the killer.

If exit gates are open it means killer [BAD WORD] up, meaning killer doesn't deserve ez kills at that point.

Anytime survivors escape, somehow that means the killer ######### up? How exactly? With the way the game currently is, doing well as killer relies almost entirely on survivors messing up and then jumping on those mistakes and taking advantage when they happen. I don't understand people who try to say gens being done/gate being opened/people escaping = killer is terrible rather than that the survivors were optimal and didn't make mistakes.

I would really like to be able to spectate a good killer's gameplay to learn more about the game. But I realize this raises concerns that the survivor will spy on the killer and report his every movement on the SWF Comm. What is a way to fix this, other than recommending I log on to some Killer's Twitch feed?

I would very much like the ability to watch the killer who killed me after I die.

Honestly, your best bet is watching people play killer on Twitch or YouTube. Trying to do this would open the doors for people to exploit the hell out of it.

  • I don't think it would be possible to do this without making it possible for SWF to exploit it.

  • My favorite killer is Spirit followed by Billy and Myers. My favorite survivor is Meg followed by Nea and I guess Feng, though Meg and Nea are the only ones I really have leveled or ever use.

Teabagging is NOT different in DBD from other games. Teabagging is a way to bully and humiliate a person in games, so its just as bad as bullying people in real life. Everyone knows that. It's disrespectful, there is no other opinion about that. Maybe survivor can use to each other for communication, but against the opponent is a way to provoke and then to bully and humiliate him. This is its meaning. And this is bad. Teabagging is ban worthy. Devs usually dont ban people for teabagging because they feel they cant ban someone for "crouching", sometimes (sadly) they endorse these kind of behavior. Which is a bad thing.

You literally cannot teabag in dbd, because teabagging is crouching on top of the opponent's dead body, first of all. Also, people need to stop being triggered by crap like this, it is pathetic. I don't always use crouching to humiliate, and most of the time I don't. I use it in ways described in the post. But if you're triggered by a survivor pressing the crouch button repeatedly, maybe you need to go play some Civ 5.

Knowing the person doing it is doing it to purposely be an ######### =/= being triggered. I don't understand how being aware of someone's intended affect suddenly means it worked. If you teabag, I know you are being toxic and trying to piss me off or goad me into a chase. I will either ignore you completely and go find the people you are trying to protect, or down you and kill you like usual. But let's not pretend that the point of teabagging at the exit gate or behind a pallet isn't to try to piss the killer off or disrespect them in some way. Whether it works or not is irrelevant.

  • Yeah, no. I don't give a crap what your rationalization is. If you're teabagging the killer behind a pallet or at the exit gate, you're toxic.

You’re allowing more than 3 people on a gen? Talk about no map pressure

I don't understand this thought process. It takes less than 30 seconds for 3 people to finish a gen. In the time it takes a killer to find, chase, injure, down, and hook 1 survivor, even if they do it SUPER FAST, they can easily have one gen done. And it doesn't usually happen that fast, so it's more likely an organized team can have 2 or 3 gens done by time you get one person on the hook if they are really rushing. It's broken. No amount of "map pressure" can fix gens being done in less than a minute. Either gens need to take a lot longer, or there needs to be a secondary objective for survivors because as it stands, this game is sooooo broken.

The system is more an assessment of time played than skillful play. The system increases queue times significantly, and in some cases indefinitely. And in its attempt to find a “balanced” match, it diminishes the connection quality in the process.

It absolutely measures your skill. Only the best players who can consistently achieve objectives get to Rank 1.

It only measures skill in a very basic understanding of the game.

To Safety PiP as Survivor you need 2 Bronze and 2 Silver.

    You need to:

    • Get 1 Gen to 30% for Bronze Lightbringer
    • Live for 10 minutes for Silver Unbroken
    • Get 1 Heal for Silver Benevolence
    • And get chased for 13 seconds for Bronze Evader

And this is assuming you want to play nicely. If you want to: 3 unhooks and 1 heal will give you Iridescent Benevolence. At that point you only need 2 more Bronzes to Safety, or 2 Silvers and 1 Bronze to PiP.

Ranking up is so easy in Dead by Daylight that it’s pointless, and making it harder would damage the queue times even more.

Improving the quality matchmaking is of much greater importance than trying to keep a very frivolous ranking system like this:

That only measures skill in a range of “just bought the game” to “I’ve played this game for more than 5 hours.” And only truly serves to worsen matchmaking while giving a placebo of more balanced matches.

If ranking up were so easy everyone would be Rank 1, but they're not. Majority of Survivor are Rank 9 or below.
You are making it sound so easy but it's not. What you are saying is 100% fantasy and not reality.

The rank system is precisely what allows for matchmaking. Removing the rank system means no matchmaking at all. Unless you have a better alternative, removing it will make matchmaking a whole magnitude worse than it currently is.

It seems it's mostly killers who seem to think rank doesn't exist. I think it's because Killers rank up much easier than Survivors. You have such a warped perspective of how it really works for most players that your suggestions (or lack of it) are useless. All you do is complain but actually you're just mad because you keep getting stomped at Rank 1 by survivor teams that are better than you. Or perhaps you're already at the top of the game and just want to consistently be able to bully survivors that are much weaker and far less experienced than you are.

Either way, that doesnt' work. We need something for ranking, because that's what we need for matchmaking. Region based matchmaking is a dumb idea.

What? I find it quite the opposite, that rank 1 survivors like to say rank doesn't matter, as they derank for "chill" matches.

The only people saying rank doesn't matter are people who routinely hit rank 1. To everyone else who sits in a particular rank bracket, rank clearly does matter and mean something. The ranking system isn't perfect but without it, we would have an incredibly screwed up matchmaking system. Think your teammates are bad already at rank 1? Imagine if people with 2k hours can suddenly be paired up with new players who still don't know what they are doing, or just people who are not that great at the game, just because they are close to each other/have good ping. That's ridiculous. A ranking system is absolutely necessary for matchmaking purposes to keep the game at least relatively fair. It's the only thing keeping relatively equally skilled people versing each other rather than demolishing those less skilled or being stomped by those more skilled. I do think it could be reworked to better reflect the skill involved in playing the game but suggesting we do away with it completely just seems ridiculous to me.

  • You can play Kill Your Friends with just your friends and avoid the toxic people altogether, or close game chat. Unfortunately there isn't much else you can do.

  • Spirit. I'm shocked by how many people chose Pig. She's who I started playing killer with and I mained her for a long time. I do like playing her but I'd rather play Spirit or Billy nowadays.

  • The whole point of the crows is to alert the killer. They JUST buffed the perk that actually makes the crows useful, so better nerf the crows so the perk becomes useless again, quick!

I'm just so tired of it, its literally every match. Play killer, every single match you get beat you go to the door it's opened, the survivor is there, you MUST hit them out, if you walk away from the door they come back in.

So okay you hit them, gone. Wait...the match isn't over? oh right, the other door is opened now, you have to walk across the map to second door, survivors all waiting there for the hand-holding walk through the gate.

I actually run franklins in all my builds for all my killers to punish this, but why? What exactly are you standing there for? To show me you've won, yeah I got that when you didn't die on my hook, or I'd get that when I see the little escape icon next to your name. I just don't get the mentality.

So I say, thank you Franklins, its even better than NOED. Because NOED will go down and then you've given them another reason to gloat, but that beautiful flashlight smashed on the ground, that's staying with me :D

I usually sit in escape for a few bonus BP when the killer comes to check. I might let them hit me so they get some BP as well.

Killer doesn't want to run across the map and hit you for 100 BP. Just leave.

@Vietfox lol I think hes playing a different game to us. But Seriously @BlackViperCom You patrol the gens like a killer is suppose to and you will find survivors. There was a time when B&Q wasnt in the game and killers were getting 4k games. Plus killers were given a perk to counter people getting in lockers. Iron Maiden. You are getting stubborn with your perk and blaming the devs and game before adapting to the situation. Plus the surviviors will be getting complete blind status when they enter the lockers in a future update.

I don't care about this convo either way but to say Iron Maiden is somehow a good counter to people hiding in lockers to avoid BBQ is ridiculous. If someone is far enough away to be seen by BBQ, then them getting out of a locker and being "exposed" for 15 seconds is not even nearly enough time for the killer to get over to that side of the map, find them, and hit them before the 15 seconds are up. Iron Maiden, if it's going to be useful and not just another useless perk, needs a major buff to the timer.

  • Some of those survivor builds look pretty "sweaty" to me but I guess that's okay? Also I really don't understand this term. Apparently it's somehow bad for the killer to try to get kills/win?

Sounds like an easy escape to me. That gives the other survivors plenty of time to finish generators while the downed guy slowly crawls to an exit gate. Then you either gotta' pick them up while three people bodyblock or watch them crawl out.

Personally I would just chase the guy sabotaging and hook them so they can't break the hooks, that seems way more productive.

Sabo was seriously buffed recently and survivors can fully sabo a hook in the time it takes a killer to pick up a survivor and walk to it. Then the killer has to look around for another hook, which usually are not close by, and hope the survivor doesn't wiggle off before they get there, or that the other survivors don't once again sabo the hook they are walking toward. I feel like people are totally misunderstanding the situation that is described here. It's not talking about just saboing random hooks and the killer getting unlucky and being near one that was saboed, it's talking about saboing a hook in front of the killer as they are walking toward it with a survivor on their shoulder. This absolutely happens. Watch OhTofu do SWF sabo squad on Twitch to see an extreme example of what we are talking about. That said, in these instances, slugging is definitely a better strategy than just letting them wiggle off and run back to their team. Either they will bleed out and die or their team has to waste time going to pick them up and heal them.

3 blink nurse happens a lot.

3 blink nurse isn't broken IMO, just more than 3. And I don't think prayer beads are broken either. I'm not sure what kind of survivors you're playing against but any halfway decent survivor can get away from a grab with prayer beads, especially right now with broken sound and grabs.

  • The only thing I think they should do with Prayer Beads is make it a pink add-on, swap it with Father's Glasses.

This might be okay but honestly, I think it's fine as is. I main Spirit and haven't had nearly the amount of "free grabs" OP claims to have.

  • Additional blinks, sure. But don't touch prayer beads. If we are removing "broken add ons" then BNP and insta heal need to go too.

What can be done is simple. You ignore as have been the people that cry and assert their entitlement to a second chance and you carry on as normal. Consider yourself dead on hook. If you do not die then you were lucky.

"Dying on your first hook do to an unsafe hook rescue = entitled." Nice one.

The purpose of a video game forum is to discuss ways to improve the game, telling people to "ignore" posts instead of talking about them is disgraceful especially since you didn't even state which part of the OP you disagree with.

Just because you repeatedly as a group bring up the same bad point doesn't make it an issue or worth entertaining. You have no entitlement to a second chance. If you did you would automatically get off the hook and start somewhere new randomly. As long as that doesn't happen you have no entitlement to it. No change you implement will alleviate being targeted repeatedly and taken out of the game and only serve to create unnecessary mechanics and unworkable or exploitable systems.

My point is that it's not fun for survivors to die on their first hook, tunneling is a legitimate strategy and there's nothing to discourage it which means it happens all the time and causes toxicity.

Once again you have failed to point out a flaw in my argument.

Just because it sucks and isn't fun doesn't mean it's a broken mechanic that needs to be fixed. It's part of the game. Getting hooked sucks, period. Getting looped sucks and so does getting pallet stunned or flashlight blinded. They are still not broken mechanics just because it sucks when it happens to you.

TLDR: A "first hook" rescue should automatically have a 10 second borrowed time effect (that would stack with the perk) to discourage camping/tunneling and reduce toxicity in the game.

*EDIT: I've also suggested in a comment further down a benefit to killer- "It would be cool if killers got double sacrifice blood points for hooking a different survivor from the one they hooked last."

The killers will just chase after you for the duration. They already do that for BT.

I also think there should be more benefit for switching targets instead of tunneling the last hooked, though giving survivors more to do while working on gens (like finding fuel cans, etc.) may also help as killers may feel pressured to get the 4k and win.

Perhaps more to punish camping and tunneling point-wise may also be helpful.

Punishment does not work. Hook vultures are proof of that.

Regardless I don't think camping and tunneling should be an easy way to rank up and I've been told by people that it is.

If you rank up from camping, you have had scores of potato survivors in your lobby and you are one lucky camper.

Tunneling is a bit of a tricker topic because exactly what is camping? Is it going after an already injured survivor as compared to that healthy survivor? Take out the weak link. Is it going after that Meg you know was already on the hook twice as compared to that Dwight you haven't hooked yet? Again, weak link. That is not tunneling, that is making a smart play. Now if you spend the entire match hunting that Jake with the flashlight and ignore everyone on gens, yeah that is tunneling and no, you wont rank up that way.

I mean I asked someone who was camping and he told me it was an easy way of obtaining pips. I don't know how it actually is as I don't camp. I'll apply pressure if someone farms behind me, but that's basically it. Camping is boring imo for both sides.

I mean, I get that, but it's also making it likely the tunneled person doesn't get that much points as they're spending the entire game running from the killer. They don't get to do gens or go for saves. A lot of times it'll affect everyone's points and it often isn't the survivor's fault. If I'm playing solo and someone just happens to farm me, I'm ultimately the one punished for the act of another. There's little to no way to tell they'd do that ahead of time, either, unless you see them doing it in the match. That would involve avoiding being caught, though. The farmers are often following around the hurt people to make sure they get the unhook. And yeah. XD It'd be better to go after someone who aren't currently in their element.

First off, I realize in my second point I accidentally said camping when I meant tunneling. I apologize.

I agree camping is completely boring for both sides, and it is a tactic I rarely use. But it is a tactic I have used. I have no shame admitting it.

With the old ranking system, camping did benefit a bit more for ranking. With the current embelm system, camping highly reduces your chances to pip unless the survivors are idiots and feed the killer. Survivors should be able to get done at least 2 gens if not 3 in the time of a full camp. They should have gens 3-5 being worked on. That said, if the first survivor tries to free themselves, slips on struggle or suicides, it benefits the killer and rewards the camp.

Tunneling to me is that tricky topic.
As a survivor, I both hate and love tunneling. If the killer is somewhat skilled, it provides a very fun and tense experience. If the killer is very skilled, yeah it sucks because they got me dead to rights. Evasion is not my strongest skill. If the killer is weak, two loops and a nice timed pallet and I am gone. Now as a killer, I have no issues at all with proper tunneling. Take at the weak target. If you are injured, I am on you. If you got unhooked, sorry for you but you are going back up. My goal is to remove as many survivors out of the game as I can as quickly as I can. Yeah it sucks for the survivor, but this is not a co-op game, it is a 4 v 1 PVP game. Survivors are my opponents, not my BFFs. I want you hooked and dead. Sorry.

The biggest issue with tunneling is killers who over tunnel and do now know when to break chase. You have to know when to just give it up. Esp for lower ranked/newer killers, this is a hard thing to learn. Also added is the extreme tunneler. The killer who spends all game tunneling that one survivor who was unlucky enough to bring in the flashlight or shirtless David. Theses killers have a pathological need to hunt down and destroy this target for their unknown sin and completely blow up their game. These people scare me.

I still don't quite agree with that. If survivors were meant to have just one health state, they'd just die on first hook and often tunneling and camping keeps everyone else from getting points and pips, too. And while survivors are the opponents of killers, the fun of both sides is important. My biggest issue is that the victim in the situation is basically losing pips and points because of what someone else did. I also don't find it all that fun to be chased the entire time I'm in the match.

Yeah, some people need to learn when to give up and switch to an easier target. Typically out of a group of 4, there's always 1 or 2 that aren't that great in the chase aspect.

You are playing a 4 v 1 PVP game. Your points depend as much on what you do as on what your teammates do and what your opponent does. That's the nature of the game. Yes it might suck that something your teammates do can screw with your points, but as killer, our points also rely on survivors making mistakes, which also sucks if they do not. So its tough all around. Nothing the devs could do would stop someone who REALLY wants to tunnel and camp from tunneling and camping, and nothing they could do would change how the point system functions in a 4 v 1 PVP. I don't think it happens as much as people say it does. I think many people claim they were "tunneled" because the killer chased them when they were injured, or "camped" because the killer chased survivors around near the hook or didn't chase survivors out the door when both were opened.

This literally can't punish killers that don't camp and would only apply to the first hook and wouldn't apply after the exit gate is powered, I previously gave the example of getting hooked once, receiving an unsafe hook rescue (which is out of your control), being rehooked and camped till dead, how is that fair? They could make it so having the borrowed time effect activate still counts as an unsafe hook rescue unless the rescuer runs the perk "borrowed time").

You're literally complaining about people who unhook in the Killer's face, so this would definitely affect those who don't camp. Hook vultures don't wait until the Killer has left the area.
If you're going to lie about your intentions, at least be consistent.

First of all f*ck you for calling me a liar, second of all this would punish the person preforming the unsafe hook rescue instead of the person getting an unsafe hook rescue.

You have changed who this is supposed to punish, who it is supposed to help, why you want this change about 5 times in this thread. It is a bit difficult to know who you want to punish. Perhaps you should step back and re organize your thoughts on this suggestion.

It is extremely easy to see who would get punished without doing anything wrong with your suggestions.

The goal of this thread has never changed, it's to make dying on your first hook less likely.

    *EDIT: Typo

That... makes no sense. Borrowed time wouldn't apply to someone dying on their first hook, they have to be unhooked for the borrowed time to apply.

  • If the person doing the saving would take a hit/make themselves visible, I think a LOT more killers would chase them. I know I personally, if I haven't found another survivor to chase by time the one on hook is unhooked, I go back to the hook to find the person who did the unhooking. However, if that person hides/urban evades/whatever so that I see no scratches, but I see blood/hear moaning from the one who got unhooked, then I'm going to chase the one I see. This would punish all killers, not just "campers" and it would reward unsafe unhooking.

Bloodpoint bonus is NOT a buff.

  • Why exactly should "getting hit through windows" not happen? It's a window. An open space through which a killer can stick their arm and hit you. If hooks didn't respawn and people were saboing, you would be complaining about being slugged and laying on the ground for 4 minutes every match so I don't think you want hooks to stop respawning. My unpopular opinion is that resilience is a better perk than DS, yeah, you heard that right.

Killers run Ruin all the time, it's the same principle, except Ruin has a counter and DS is OP and broken. I've definitely gone against 3-4 survivors with DS, and 2 is very common. At least one survivor has it 95% of matches I play. And it isn't even about if there is multiple in a game. There being one in a game is enough to screw things up. I don't understand why everyone is like "stop whining and deal with it" rather than express displeasure so BHVR sees it is important to change it. Why exactly are we not allowed to complain about an OP perk? Why is that a bad thing? "a situation in which further action or progress by opposing or competing parties seems impossible."

You could have easily picked them up, lets not pretend this is a stalemate, this is you trying to protect your pride by not losing your precious 4th kill and probably coming on here to cry about it if you had.

It's only one kill, seriously - not an issue.

You are the most anti-killer supposed "killer main" I've ever seen. Why is it so bad to want to get a 4k once in awhile? Especially when in this situation when you're earned it but one OP perk is stopping you from hooking the last person? Settle down is right. Stop being so righteous, no one cares. Everyone has a right to enjoy this game and some aspects of it are not fun at all, on both sides, but especially for killer and especially when it comes to DS. People have a right to voice their opinion, that's kind of the point of the forum, so stop shaming people for being unhappy with certain aspects of the game.

  • Monitor and Abuse is one of the best perks in the game, and Overcharge and Overwhelming Presence have their usefulness as well. Pig's MYC is not gimmicky, it's awesome. BBQ and Chili from Leatherface is meta and he also has Franklin's Demise which is a great perk when everyone in your lobby has items. Ruin from Hag is also pretty much meta and Devour Hope is great if it lasts. Freddy has Blood Warden which can save your ass more often than you'd think. Clown's Bamboozle and Pop Goes the Weasel are both good. Spirit's Spirit Fury, Haunted Grounds, and Rancor are literally ALL great perks. Even Legion has good ones in Discordance and I think Mad Grit is pretty cool. Iron Maiden I'm not sure about but could be fun to play with. I don't know about survivor perks because I don't play survivor but the killer perks are definitely good and worth getting in the DLCs.

  • The issue isn't camping, it is WHY killers camp. Usually they end up camping because gens are done in 5 seconds. What really needs to be fixed are gens need to take longer to complete or there needs to be another objective for survivors to complete to lengthen matches, and some maps need to be more balanced. If people still camp when the games last longer than 3 minutes then they're just being toxic and there's nothing you can do about that.

I'm not sure about all these changes because personally they sound like a huge survivor buff to me, like being able to see the killer's aura within a certain distance of the hook, unless you meant they can't see the killer if the killer is in a chase near the hook? Or if there is an unhooked survivor in a certain distance or something like that. Then maybe it would make sense. If the killer is just standing near the hook that's one thing, but if they're chasing survivors around it or searching for one they saw and another survivor is across the map, they shouldn't see the killer. It would be nice if there was some repair speed penalty but honeslty I think just making gens take longer in general and/or adding a second objective would have to happen in conjunction with something like this.

To even put the impression that you're trying to say it was a good change for huntress with those hitboxes :O wow dude.... I mean a survivor could have vaulted a window and perfectly timed hatchet would go right through their spine... it was terrible and unless you didn't play it enough anyone else would agree the change wasnt ready to be put out........ again this just shows your biased... however I do agree that devs haven't horribly screwed killers and some are being babies with a few of the changes..

    Me? Biased? OMEGALUL.

Find one comment where I vehemently defend buffs for survivors and nerfs for killers. Find one comment where I want survivors buffed and killers nerfed.

Umm every comment I see from you is incredibly survivor biased so idk what you're talking about the the OMGEALUL. Then you think because you play killer once in a blue moon then you couldn't possibly be biased!

  • It's because of the rampant pseudo-intellectualism that is spread on here everyday and a particular twitch streamer that cries about d-strike all the time. It's based on the belief that survivors can't have any perks that are actually beneficial to survival. People that play killer all the time want to be in the "power role", which means 4king every single match and deluding themselves into thinking that they are "skilled".

You can see the constant crying on here all the time about how all means of survival is "toxic" or a "crutch". You're only supposed to run in straight lines and not be able to stealth at all. This extreme entitlement and idiocy manifested itself into the creation of legion, which has completely destroyed the game for me.

Found the survivor main. Killers SHOULD be in the power roll, it's a ######### asymmetrical horror game for #########'s sake. That doesn't mean they expect to 4k every time, it means they want a game that is fun and balanced. It is not balanced yet, I don't care how bad survivors want to believe it is. We don't think survivors need no perks, but that some of their perks are unfair BS. DS lets people just jump off the killer's shoulder because they hit space bar and leaves the killer stunned for several seconds? How does that make sense? And that's really the main one killers complain about so I don't even understand how you can say we don't want survivors to have any perks that are beneficial, that's just a flat out lie. Honestly the biggest problem isn't even mechanics, it's maps. Some maps are fair. I like Macmillon and Swamp and Crotus Prenn. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose, but I never feel like I got ######### in the ass by the devs, just outplayed or played well. But if I'm on a farm map or Lery's, Haddonfield, or Yamaoka Estate? I feel like the map is ######### me way harder than the survivors ever could.

  • And scratch marks vanish for no reason and the sound is so screwed up that I can't tell if a survivor is under me, over me, or next to me. And they left us with this for the double BP event so thanks for that too.

I like how killers only ever see it as a "free escape". You can tell these people dont play survivor much.

Go play a game where someone disconnects a minute in. Now you know there's almost zero chance of you powering those exit gates. Sure there's the hatch, but only one of you gets it. Two people have to die. It's not a pleasant experience and it's quite tense. Some survivors even try to get each other killed.

It's really not as rosy as you make it out to be.

Okay but in most games there are 4 survivors doing gens incredibly fast and then either 3 escape or some number are killed and some escape and there is one survivor left crawling around the map while the killer tries to find them or stands at the hatch, then the survivor comes to the hatch and teabags there for 10 minutes until the killer gives up and hits them. This survivor didn't have to do anything great all match, they just have to hide a lot/wait for their teammates to leave. The killer can have a great game and 3k but then lose the 4k because of this stupid mechanic, and it also rewards survivor who hide while their teammate is dying on the ground or hook so they can get hatch instead of going for the heal or save. And slugging the last 2 people isn't fun at all for killers. It's just not. It isn't fair at all as it is. It needs a rework in some fashion to be fair to both sides and not unfairly favor one or the other.

I don't think you'll find many people who will tell you that the hatch is great, but let's just explore the alternative for a second.

So you close the hatch. Now what?

The survivor needs to power up to three generators as the killer patrols them. You can very easily patrol an entire map in 80 seconds (the time it takes for that one survivor to fix a generator), and if you hear that a generator has progressed, you'll know the survivor is around. For the survivor, touching a generator is suicide. It's a "come kill me" alarm. In a normal game, this is no big deal, you get chased, other people keep fixing generators and then maybe you get saved. When you're the last survivor, that's it, that's game over.

So naturally they would wait for the perfect opportunity, where they can magically completely fix a generator before the killer can return, except that opportunity never comes. If they attempt to fix a generator, they're dead. Queue the hide and seek world championship. They have no reason to try to escape because trying to escape is actually trying to die faster. They wouldn't be griefing either because by definition they are just trying to win.

I'm totally down for an end-game rework, but closing the hatch alone would not quite work. Even if it powers the gates and allows the survivors to work on either one, it would be pretty much the same situation. Some gates spawn just a couple tiles away from each other, making them incredibly easy to patrol. On some occasions, they even spawn in eye shot of each other, so you could literally stand in front of one and stare at the other. If the survivor dares to touch them, they get a red "come kill me" light on them too.

TL;DR: It's great on paper, but it wouldn't quite work in practice. That is why the hatch change didn't go through.

A survivor could easily escape out one exit while the killer is at the other. I don't care how close the gates are, VERY few killers would be able to travel from one to the other fast enough. And isn't it kind of your guys' fault the exits can spawn next to each other anyway? So why don't you fix that and allow the killer to close the hatch which then opens the exit gates. At least this gives them both a chance without just screwing one of them over really hard like the current or proposed systems do.

  • Issue - Sound, especially directional sound, is busted
    Platform - PC
    Map played - All maps
Additional details - Since the update, sound has been really messed up. Directional sound especially seems really bugged. I can't tell which direction sound is coming from anymore, which is very detrimental for killers like Spirit who rely heavily on sound when she is phasing and can't see. Now she cannot hear footsteps AT ALL and if the survivor she's chasing is injured and moaning the sound has no direction so you have no idea where it's coming from. Usually it sounds like it's underneath you.

    Issue - FPS drops
    Platform - PC
    Map - All maps
Additional details - Sometimes when I go to hit a survivor it just freezes for a few seconds and sometimes I'll be lucky and have hit them and other times my killer freezes and they get away. It's really annoying to drop frames so hard at such an important point. It happens at least one a game, if not multiple times, usually one of the first hits of the match.

  • Agree, whenever I am forced to spend like 6k BP on a purple mist add on because it's the last thing on my blood web it's awful. I have so many thickening mist offerings on all my killers that I will absolutely never use. If we only got lessening the mist offerings in the killer blood web that would be so much better.

U can wait for BBQ and chilli till it appears in the shrine. But till this happen u probably play a different game already. Look up when and how often it appeared, will keep ur motivation up to wait lol

It appeared exactly once right after the Leatherface DLC came out so if they wait, they'll be waiting a looooooooooooooooooong time.

  • I'd take swamp anyday over Lery's, Haddonfield, Yamaoka Estate or any farm map.

  • You obviously suck at survivor. Git gud.

  • You can't get banned for camping/tunneling anyway so what would she possibly say you did?

  • Unpopular opinion probably: I think Hex: Ruin shouldn't be a perk, it should just be a built in mechanic and should spawn in every game without the killer having to waste a perk slot. If survivors get it instantly, then it doesn't hurt the killer. Conversely, survivors come into the game knowing there is a hex totem out there so they can look for it if they want or play around it. It just really really REALLY sucks to use Ruin and have it go down in the first 30 seconds. I would say at least 4 out of 5 times, Ruin goes down within the first 90 seconds, usually sooner.

  • Doctor is fun too and he isn't actually weak, he just takes some time to learn. I think he can be fairly strong though when you learn how to use his shock therapy to stop people from vaulting/using pallets.

  • Hag has the Hex: Ruin perk so if you feel like you'd benefit from that, she's a good buy. Plus she's fun to play. Spirit is my favorite to play and she has pretty good perks. Leatherface is a must because of BBQ & Chili so if you don't have him, get him too. If you are not concerned with their teachable perks though and just care about which killer is the best/most fun, then Spirit for sure.
