I like everything except the obsession changing because for something like Dying Light if you already killed the obsession, are they alive now? I don’t understand how that will work.

I find it odd how they all claim they dodge SWF but still have a major issue with it - almost like they just want the fun removed.
If you think SWF is hard, and you start buffing around that, you make the game impossible for solo players, well done, you've further ruined the game because some bad killers on the forum can't handle SWF.
At any point are you going to post something that isn't pointless rhetoric? The posts you are making are remedial. You can boil it down to "leave SWF broken and OP because i'd like to convince you that if you buff killers to deal with them you leave solo survivors hosed, while at the same time I hope that you aren't intelligent enough to know nerfing the living hell out of SWF will solve the issue and have none of the drawbacks."
Some of the best killers in this community know and state SWF is broken and you, an unknown in comparison, speak as if you breeze through SWF like it's nothing. It's all hot air. Nobody cares about potato groups it's about the best of the best getting a free ride because the game is exploitable with VoIP and they know how to do it to the Nth degree.
and almost everyone on this forum is a massive nobody but you expect us all to listen to them? If it looks like bias, swims like bias, and sounds like bias, then it probably is bias.
"You're a nobody Senzu, so everything you say doesn't mean anything, however all these nobody killers should be listened to because idk they agree with me".
That's right Senzu, you are an unknown and no one listens to your rhetoric particularly when it is so painfully obtuse and contrary to things fundamentally understood by the community. Even the devs have acknowledged the issues, they just don't care.
As for those nobody killers? Yeah, no. They are large streamers with cult followings that bring many players to the game and act as a constant source of entertainment for people interested in DbD. There are many days where watching one of them sparks my interest in playing and I'm certainly not alone.
What huge streamers are here talking about game issues? lmfao
You have tru3 &... who? lmao they certainly aren't here, are they.
Why would they be? The devs don't pay attention to this forum any more than they did the Steam forums. Reddit and private messages are where it's at. They also have better things to do than go over issues already talked about endlessly with unknown and intellectually dishonest people like yourself.
I love how upset you guys get by this forum.
Little bit of info for you, you're also a huge nobody. I have a different opinion to you, that's cool it's a free world. I'm sorry I don't struggle at every mechanic at this game like you do. I love playing against SWF, I never dodge lobbies and I don't cry about SWF.
I'm still super curious about this list of large streamers with cult followings that share the same "delete swf" ideology you have.
That's not called being dishonest it's called having a different opinion, surely someone with the huge intellectual capacity that someone such as yourself holds should understand that.
The main issue with this game is DS/Map Layouts. SWF is easy, stop crying and get better at the game.
Literally nobody said "delete SWF" just that it is broken and should be fixed in some way. And tons of streamers have said SWF is broken as well. I don't know why you are obsessed with the forum as if that is the only place people discuss DBD. They say these things on stream, Twitter, Reddit, all over the place. The forums are just a bitchfest.

I don't agree with Senzu very often but I think you're looking at the wrong issue. You're not wrong when you say that SWF grants an advantage to players considering that they are more likely to have more information than solo's and put that information to good use but the problem isn't the fact that people want to play with their friends.
The real problem comes with the duration of the matches if you use half of the killers in the game, in which case the real problem we should be taking a look at is good players on bad maps. If you take a look at maps like disturbed ward, haddonfield or pretty much any coldwind farm map then those are horrible for killers let alone if you put a survivor with any form of a brain on them. Once you fix up the problematic maps, it's really only a matter of making some of the more lackluster killers (Trapper, Leatherface, Pig, Doctor, Legion & Clown) more worthwhile to use.
This! I honestly want to DC everytime I load into Haddonfield and Yamaoka Estate because they are AWFUL maps. I would rather play on farm maps every game than every play on one of those again. The other maps I at least feel like I have a fair chance, but with Haddonfield and Yamaoka I feel like I start out with a huge disadvantage and it's not fun at all playing on either map.
-
Same I swear I get the infinite loading screen or a crash more often when I use survivor pudding than when I use any other offering.
-
I find it hard to believe people are actually camped and tunneled this often/as often as they claim on this board all the time. However, I don't find it hard to believe that they are salty they got caught, that they were bad at hiding after being unhooked so the killer found them again, they were bad at looping so they got caught another time, that their teammates were near the hook so the killer stayed nearby, that they consider not leaving the map entirely to be "camping," or that they think the killer should run away from the hook even when all gens are done and the doors are open.
-
They should stay red through the entire dying on hook animation. That would make the event waaayyy better. But at least they fixed the point system for killers so it's not nearly as bad now.

You can count your hits and see how much % that is. Divide your hits (or rather points) by the amount of % you got and multiply it by 100. That is how much 100% is.I have to count my hits? And then how do I count everything else, like the number of seconds each generator stays unfinished on the map? If they are keeping track of these things for percentages then I feel like they could instead post them as points rather than percents.

Fix the causes of lobby dodging first.
What are you talking about? People will dodge over cosmetics, how can they fix that? Try re-reading the post.
That's because there is a pattern among the most toxic players.
Nea with the long 80's hair, or the short dark hair is ok. If she has a flashlight it's just a flashlight who cares.
However a Nea with a flashlight and the pink hair or the beanie hat, there is a high chance they're going to be a Decisive using extremely toxic little twat. Gee I wonder why, I wonder which streamer promoted toxicity and used those Nea cosmetics.
If you read that yourself a couple of times you might eventually get what a load of crap you are stating here....sorry.... this is the kind of bull feces attitude that is exactly ruining the game.
Remove the killers ability to see the survivors inventory. Remove the cancel button unless there is someone with a ping above 200 in the lobby. Problem solved.
And remove half the people who play killer from the game at the same time. Great idea.

How about we fix the disease instead of the symptoms. The disease is SWF and the games complete imbalance. That is why people get dodged.
So you dodge games because you don't like intended items being brought in or intended features to be used , but yet you'll cherry pick some noob lobby to roll stomp with UR add ons and a ebony mori and that's fair to you right? The bias is unreal, nobody is [BAD WORD] cheating were playing by the rules like everyone else , if you don't like to play against these things you might as well play something else because 75 percent of the player base is SWF we just need to give you people survivor bots and let you set them injured or whatever from the start that you want so you can feel better, but God knows we would start seeing "Nerf bots" or "one got the hatch!" Posts and then the world would [BAD WORD] explode
Found the entitled one! Everyone has a right to dip out of a lobby sweetheart, may want to dump some of that salt out, not good for your health.
Move on to the next game, Lobby Dodging isn't even remotely as common as you all bemoaning about it. Players DCing during a match now, now that's an issue to actually discuss
pats head you'll live
No it's total horseshit to have to wait 2 hours for a game it happens every night toe on ps4 don't tell me it's not common you know nothing and you're the entitled one you just are too if ignorant to see it , you think you're entitled to make everyone wait just because you don't think you should have to play a match with any challenge I'll laugh my ass off when they get servers and start time bans on you clowns and you're on here crying again
Yes, because banning killers from loading into lobbies will do a LOT to get you into a lobby quicker... oh wait.
-
Until gens take longer than 5 minutes for all 5 to be complete, I'll dodge any lobby with 2+ toolboxes and I don't give a #########. Sorry, I actually want to PLAY the game, not have it end in 5 minutes. And you know why killers get to see survivor loadout? Because killer is supposed to be in the POWER ROLE. You know, because it's an asymmetrical horror game? Even though the balance is a joke, that is the intention. If you don't like being dodged, don't load in with 2 toolboxes, an insta heal and a purple flashlight.
-
Generators don't take long enough to finish, meaning matches are incredibly quick which makes them very stressful. If generators took longer and/or survivors had additional objectives, it would be much more enjoyable, for both sides I think because then survivors could earn more BP as well. Also DS and NOED are really unfun to play against (I know this is about playing killer but I can't talk about thinking 1 should go without mentioning the other -- they both need to go) but it wouldn't be as bad if it weren't for the fact that it wastes precious time that you don't have as a killer. In my opinion, every issue comes down to the generators.
-
You joined 2 days ago and already have posted 8 times? Idk man, I'm not sure you can handle this game. Close the chat window and never open it again if it bothers you because it's been going on forever and won't change anytime soon. I wish they would get rid of the chat window entirely but until then, I keep it closed myself because I don't want to deal with the toxicity either.
-
It's a $20 multi-player PvP game that isn't just a play through once and done, but an ongoing experience, meaning adding new content regularly is part of the deal. They would not be able to sustain this game if they added all of this new content for free, so they make reasonably priced DLCs, all of which are completely optional. You can't expect the devs to continue putting time, effort and money into this game for free. That's not reality.
There is nothing about BBQ that is going to make you win more than any other free perk. Just because the loadouts you see on YouTube mention some perks that are in DLCs that doesn't mean those are the only good perks or that you can't win with other things. You could play perkless and win. So, if you really want BBQ, then pay for it like everyone else. If it's not that important to you, then don't get it and use another perk. And as everyone else mentioned, that is exactly why the Shrine exists. This week, Ruin is up there, which is from the Hag's DLC and is a meta killer perk.
-
I just wish when a survivor was dying on the hook that the lanterns stayed red for the entire duration of the dying animation, and not just for 1 second before they go invisible.

I could say the same for all the posts about camping/tunneling. There is A LOT of repetition on these boards.

Why bother?

Im about to skip it.So many insecure killers camping and tunneling,it's driving me insane.Wish kiler mains got good and actually learned how to play this game.
I am so sick of seeing survivors ######### about tunneling and camping. If the devs made the game more balanced, killers wouldn't feel the need to camp. Then they come out with this event where survivors can easily get 20-45 points per match whereas killer STRUGGLES to get 20, and will probably never get 45 since that requires every person bringing in a red envelope (I'm lucky if 1 person brings one in per match), and for the killer to destroy all 7, and also hook every survivor 3 times each. Yeah, not happening. So maybe THAT'S why they are camping and tunneling, and not that they need to "get good." But you might understand that if you weren't so biased.
-
It's crazy. For any level 50 character that's a 50-70k red envelope because you have to go through the whole bloodweb to get one, and considering how many points we need to get all cosmetics with them going up by 100 with each coin, it's kind of ridiculous.
-
How exactly did the killer and downed survivor team up? I'm confused.
-
Yup. It's terrible. 50-70k to finish a bloodweb to get 1 more envelope.

I understand many killers at higher ranks feel they need to use such strategies to secure a kill, but often it can be out of salt and they just wish to ruin that particular survivors game. I strongly believe that some change should be made that rewards killers for leaving the hook, and punishing them for specifically for camping doing NONE of the objectives. By this i mean, if a killer is standing by a hook, and the gens aren't finished, there should be some penalty (for example he has a gradual decrease in movement speed or the hooked person dies slower). However if some cocky survivor is running round the hook, as long as you're in a chase with them, the negative affects would not happen. Meanwhile if they leave said hook, they gain a slight buff (for example slight speed increase or faster death of person on hook). So if they are crouching nearby or something and you aren't in a chase but you're searching for them because you know they are there, you get a speed debuff? All of these "anti camping" ideas just sound like they are going to punish the wrong people. People who camp to be toxic WILL CAMP EITHER WAY. And those who camp for a reason shouldn't be punished for it. I've said it a million times but I'll say it again -- they don't need to do anything about camping, they need to fix the reason many killers feel like they HAVE to camp, which is the insane speed at which gens are done and the game ends. Either gens need to take a lot longer, they need to come up with something other than skill checks or buff them so they are much harder, or add another objective for survivors and slow the game down a bit.
-
This event seems super survivor sided in general. I remember when it was announced on the dev stream survivors freaked out thinking it was going to be so killer sided but in reality, survivors can get 25 points for escaping with a lantern, which isn't nearly as hard as they made it seem, while the killer only gets 3 points for destroying one? What? Destroying them isn't as easy as you made it seem either since we have no aura for them so we have no idea where they are, and we can only destroy them after hooking someone which means you have to know where the lantern spawns are and which ones, if any, currently have a lantern still on it, and/or be close enough to even get there in time. The time limit plus having no idea where they are makes it extremely hard to get more than 1 or 2 in a match even if there are 5-7 out there.
-
This just sounds like free perks.

The Nurse player just wasnt very good. You're team did their job well and you guys escaped because the Nurse just wasnt very good. She just needs more practice that's all (and maybe an optimization patch too). You're team just did well. I bet if it was any other killer (especially since its console and Nurse is really hard on console) they would have gotten 1 or 2 kills.
I still wait for the day that I can post the video of a nurse that bothers me or gets the 4k that happens in most other matches against killers.
The solution is come to the dark side and play pc, you'll get scared and go back to console pretty quickly although there's some potato Nurses on pc as well. But generally Nurses at red ranks will get a hook within the 1st 30 seconds or so.
Now if you really want to get scared back to console play against an Omega blink nurse and or one that knows how to play her and you'll be lucky to have the match last more than 2 minutes.
Maybe pc survivors are just worse players than I am? As much as I would love to see these Uber nurses and show them up too, I don't think it's worth the £2000 investment into a decent pc. Thanks for the idea though.
Also, if Uber nurses are a thing over in the land of pc gaming, post vids (:
PC survivors are WAY better than console survivors. PC Nurses are also WAY better than console Nurses.
If you want a video, here is a good one that shows two matches -- the same killer player against the same team twice -- first time with Wraith and second time with Nurse. Really all you have to do is search for Nurse games on YouTube and you'll find a ton.

To me it's just a description of how fast some games go with the current time it takes to complete generators. Games are incredibly short. Survivors only have one objective and some teams do it VERY well. It makes things extremely stressful on the killer. It's not something the survivors are doing wrong though, to me it's a problem with the game. There needs to be another objective or gens need to take longer, or skill checks need to be replaced with something else or made harder or something.
-
To fully prestige and get every perk on one killer (currently 54 killer perks in game I believe), you need to complete 362 blood webs, minimum. That is INSANE. And that is just for one killer! I agree, we should be able to earn more BP normally, or Party Streamers, Escape Cake and Survivor Puddings need to show up WAY more often in the blood web, and get rid of the stupid 50%/75% bonus from X category because you most likely spend more on the offering than you willl earn with it.

Other then that there is Iron Grasp (General Perk) to bridge the gap or Agitation (The Trapper) to a lesser extend!I know the perks, but it seems unfair that I have to give up a valuable perk slot to fix something the devs recently decided to change that is a huge unnecessary killer nerf. Space out hooks, whatever, but they shouldn't also disappear for a full 2 minutes if they are already as far apart as they are. That leaves huge areas with absolutely no hooks.

I hate it when people say that. The game isn't meant to be played so you die on first hook, that's why there are 3 hooks before death. Sure, you COULD leave them and win, but it would be so boring as the other 3 survivors would have no challange and only be on gens, and the killer and the survivor hooked wouldnt be doing anything. It's the most boring strat, and you win by literally boring everyone to death
Not every match is going to be super fun for every player. Just ask killers, lots of matches aren't fun for us. If you weren't meant to EVER die on first hook then you wouldn't be able to die on first hook.

Camping is one of the design issues of this game. It's not gamebreaking, but it hinders a lot of things in DbD. Like also that the game is design with teamplay as an option in mind. It doesn't work and break the game in edge cases especially for killers. But we all have to live with it, because it's part of the game. Hooks work like the do. You can't fundamently change it.No, the design issues are WHY killers camp in the first place, unless they are just doing it to be toxic, which I would argue most are not. Most are just trying to get a kill in a high stress way too fast paced game that is stacked against them in every way.

I HATE when that happens!

If gens took longer/survivors had another objective, people wouldn't have to camp. Some people still would just because they like doing it and are trying to piss you off, but anyone who does it strategically 1) hates it and 2) wouldn't do it if they had another choice.

I see, so it is also a solo player problem. This game is really [BAD WORD], you know that? Developers should take this as a lesson never to design a game around the idea of secrecy. Annoying.
I've been a fairly non-toxic Survivor main but I think that ends today. I have realized that this community is by nature toxic, and it's no use trying to be a nice guy. Exploits like that never even occurred to me!
I am going to join the hordes of toxic players in this game spreading lies and propaganda to show how underpowered survivors are compared to OP killers, and campaign for killer nerfs every inch of hte way, and won't stop until survivors get the buffs they deserve.
This is ######### and ridiculous [BAD WORD] and utter ######### and [BAD WORD] [BAD WORD] [BAD WORD] [BAD WORD] [BAD WORD] [BAD WORD] [BAD WORD] [BAD WORD] [BAD WORD] [BAD WORD] [BAD WORD] [BAD WORD]
The slight inconvenience to you having to wait until the end of the match if you REALLY want to see the build, is MUCH smaller than the detrimental impact SWF being able to see the killer's perks before match end and tell their teammates. I don't understand why solo survivors are losing it over this change that should have been the default from day one. Either wait, or just leave and move on. If you want build ideas, go on YouTube or Twitch. It's not like you can NEVER see the build, or that there are NO other ways to find killer builds.
Also, this response really reaks of immaturity and entitlement, which most of the toxic players in this community also exhibit. Maaaaaybe you should grow up? You're basically stomping your feet and having a tantrum because you didn't get your way.
-
I would be okay with this but they would need better totem placements as well because currently, either survivors spawn directly on the totem, or my totem is like, on the side of a hill or just basically out in the open. I really wish they would make a Hex: Ruin totem default so killers don't have to waste a perk on something that is gone right away 4/5 times.
-
How about the devs fix the issue of 4 minute games, thereby getting rid of the reason most people camp/tunnel in the first place, instead of punishing killers for doing what they have to to try to get a kill.
-
I'm so sick of totem placements. We basically have to run Ruin, especially in red ranks, to even slow down the game a tiny bit, but survivors spawn on it instantly SO often, so then we are stuck without it all game, get gen rushed, and get #########. If they aren't going to slow gens down, give survivors another objective, or fix totem placement, then create some kind of automatic in game version of Ruin so that killers don't have to waste a perk slot on something that might not make it 15 seconds.

Yes this has happened to me in all my survivor games as well.

I'm gonna start DCing everytime someone spawns on my Ruin and see how fast I get banned.

I think overall everyone needs to stop whining about things that are simply a part of the game. Killers are gonna camp, tunnel and kill you any way that they possibly can. Just like survivors are going to use every item, perk and loop they can to survive. Thats literally what this game is made for lol.Everyone needs to focus on the real problems with this game, like disconnecting and lobby dodging.
My issue is more so the nonsensical comparisons to generators than camping and tunneling, really. Honestly I don't usually bring in items, either, as most games you lose them. Frankies or just plain dying~
Eh, we aren't one dimensional. We can worry over multiple things.
I think the comparison is because when talking about gen rushing, survivors always say "it's our only objective, what else are we supposed to do?" and with camping/tunneling, the killer is also trying to complete their only objective -- getting kills.
-
This would be interesting to test it out in a PTB to see if 3/4/5 seconds is enough.

And who are you to tell them what they should and should not do?
I also don't dodge but I don't feel the need to force people to play the way I want.@popoles
Because there is no other reason to dodge a lobby and I never told people "how to play". I only said that you should only dodge in these scenarios (and that's why I said, "Others should do the same") because these are legitimate reasons to dodge while others just dodge for the stupidest reasons. It's ridiculous with how many people dodge for the most stupidest reasons in my opinion:
2 Flashlights? Dodge.
3+ Toolboxes and afraid of BNP? Dodge.
3+ Med-Kits and afraid of Instaheal? Dodge.
3+ P3 Claudettes or Legacy survivors? Dodge.
Someone has a key? Crap! Dodge. If you see this, instead of dodging (not staying you are dodging, just a PSA for everyone) then use YOUR items. Bring in your add-ons or offerings to balance things out, they are there for a reason, namely, strength!
Lastly, why is dodging a problem?
You may not think dodging is a problem but if you waited 10 minutes to get a game just to get sent back to the lobby and wait another 10 minutes. That's 20 minutes just to find a game, that's double than you normally had to wait. Usually dodging isn't a problem for fast game times but it's devastating for the people who have long wait times.
Those are all valid reasons to dodge. You know what else is? Dodging because you feel like it. No one has to justify themself to you or anyone else. Killer is a stressful role, so if the killer doesn't want to add even MORE stress by playing a match against 4 people with flashlights or toolboxes, that's their right. You do you boo boo and I'll do me. If you don't wanna get dodged, don't have 4 flashlights/4 toolboxes/obvious SWF usernames, etc. The killer isn't obligated to play against you if they don't want to.

Anyways, keep the inputs coming, and keep things civilized and respect other's intelligence, we don't want this community to be the next "as Toxic as League" community (Trust me, I've ran into a few Toxic dirtbags)I don't think it's fair to suggest nerfs to killers you've never played/only played against at low or mid rank. 200 hours is not a lot of time in this game, and gameplay is EXTREMELY different in the red ranks than it is in lower ranks. The devs cannot balance the game around new players who don't know what they are doing yet or else it would be impossible for killers to win at high ranks. The game is balanced in favor of the survivors, that's just a fact. I suggest watching some SWF games on YouTube or something and see what we are talking about, and/or just watching high rank survivors play to see what they do and learn from them. Nerfing all the killers down to the point where rank 15s can win all the time would destroy the game at higher ranks and therefore run off all the people who play killer regularly.

BBQ has already been nerfed into the ground, stop whining about it for God's sake.

I love all the the logic you guys bring to the argument, the bottom line is, it could be fixed, and all you want to do is defend a broken game with broken mechanics. I stay rank 1 on both killer and survivor, its not hard to escape, prestige, creep, sneak, etc. But you still dont seea problem with a developer that is 100% ok with people playing their game and not given the opportunity to enjoy it. You have these issues among so many more. Loading screen loop, ######### ping from killers making it almost unbearable to playor their pc's cant handle the load, hackers still out there (videos of speed hackers still being posted), the killer pickup animation for flashlight blinding, etc. I play this game alot it doesnt mean that I cant want a game that I pay for and continue to spend money on to get better. It's been 3 years now and none of these issues have been addressed.Camping/tunneling aren't broken mechanics, they're stratetgies that you don't like. There is a huge difference.

Ive been wondering this for a while. If a killer gets near the exit gate and "the entity" blocks the exit why does it only affect the killer.
If exit gates are open it means killer [BAD WORD] up, meaning killer doesn't deserve ez kills at that point.
Anytime survivors escape, somehow that means the killer [BAD WORD] up?.
Yup, after 5 gens done you are still asking for more chances. Get over it.
I didn't even post this, I don't care about the content of the post. I just think it's stupid to say "killer ######### up" or "killer is bad" because the gens got done. Gens can be done in under 5 minutes. It's really hard to find, hit, down, and hook 4 survivors 3 times each in under 5 minutes. The game is unbalanced. Accept and admit it, don't trash talk killers.

To be honest, I'm gonna have to start running DS again. I don't like DS, but I think the reason I am such a low ranked survivor is because of the constant tunnelling killers. When I'm getting tunnelled, I disconnect almost immediately. That ######### is straight up annoying, and a waste of time, why shouldn't I disconnect? And I'm a killer main, mind you.Ummm, the reason you are such a low rank survivor (besides the obvious - that you are just bad) is that you keep DCing mid-match leading to a double depip instead of just sucking it up and finishing the game.

Cancel button could just mean people loading and DCing in the loading screen left and right. I would be on board if it appeared only after a certain amount of time, like 2 minutes or something. Otherwise it would be exploitable. Also, if the game crashes for you or for someone else and you end up having to close the game, YOU SHOULD GET YOUR OFFERING BACK.
