If they are in a position to get the hatch to open then you should be slugging the second last survivor so you can get the last one, instead of killing the second to last and then having to do a hatch showdown.A mechanic that basically forces a killer to slug or lose the 4k is not a good mechanic. It's not fun for killer or survivor. Even if the killer slugs them both one can still get hatch because dying survivors can somehow rise into the air and jump into the hatch.

The old ptb test that when the killer closes the hatch, both exit gates open is starting to sound better and better the more killers complain about the hatch. Most times if the hatch is open, it's the killer's fault. Adjust your strategy accordingly.
You can't brag about how good you are if you can't do that.So a killer is bad if 2 gens get done and they sacrifice 3 people which opens the hatch for the 4th? That's so ridiculous.
I wouldn't mind your fix if killer can close the hatch and then one exit gate opens, but not both.

I think we haven't heard anything because it's difficult to come up with good solutions to his problems. Wraith, Trapper, and Hag reworks were all pretty straightforward. Mostly involved reworking add-ons and slightly tweaking the power (base Windstorm for Wraith, sped up trap placement for Hag/Trapper).Freddy's power is more intricate. If you just boost numbers he would actually become very overpowered. So they probably need to rework his power from scratch which takes more time.
They said he is the next killer to get a rework. We just don't know when. Patience my young Fredward.
If all they did was shorten the time it takes him to bring people into the dream world he would be sooooo much better and I don't think overpowered at all because he would still need to bring people into the dream world to injure them just like now, but as it stands it takes way too long.

The honest answer is rose coloured glasses. It's the same on both sides.Take camping, for example. Borrowed Time is the only practical counter (to actually save that person).
Or if you're a stealth player who doesn't want their aura to be read by all the new aura reading perks and abilities, you gotta run distortion or sole survivor.
Killer's got ruin and you can't hit those skill checks? Can't find the totem? Stake Out, Small Game, Detective's Hunch.
At the same time, you have things like bloodlust and generator regression added for killers. And let's not discount the window blocking mechanic which prevents countless infinites, that one is absolutely huge. It's not a one way street, it's the same for both sides.
"Can't find the totem?" They spawn on top of it, or it is out in the open. They ALWAYS find the totem (or at least 99% of the time), and usually within the first minute of the game.

Agreed! His base shock therapy range is sooo tiny. If you think it's big enough then you've probably been playing against doctors always using the add ons to make it larger. The thing is, if they buff the base shock therapy by 25%, then they could get rid of the 75% add on and just keep the 50% add on so that his range can't get excessively large. It's just SO SMALL as it is, it's really hard to play him without at least the 25% add on and even that isn't very large, it's just actually viable.

You have to understand that the "fun" is fun from the survivors perspective (even if legion isnt really fun for both sides) and DS can be "fun" for survivorsHit the nail on the head. Not sure how the devs think it's fun to play a killer that is weak and gets bullied by survivors all match. Legion was clearly designed with survivors in mind because he was meant to be the anti-tunneling killer. Funny thing is he ended up being the best tunneler in the game so that backfired pretty hard. But yeah, DS is never fun. It just seems really unfair and OP. It changes how the killer plays the game because I know for me I don't even like wasting my time on the DS person, and they're always the person in bright clothes running around in front of you trying to get you to chase them because they know they have a get out of jail free card. Yet somehow DS is totally acceptable but if a killer uses NOED they are abused to no end.

I have played the game with an Xbox controller. 😂Me too, that's why I'm asking about Steam controller because it's so different. I cannot for the life of me use my keyboard to move. I didn't play PC games growing up and I just don't have the muscle memory to smoothly move with my keyboard so I'm stuck using an Xbox controller if I want to play decent but it means you can't quickly turn for Nurse or aim well for Huntress, but the Steam controller has like a touch pad type thing instead of a joystick so I'm wondering if it works better? Idk.

With distortion, and lockers blocking BBQ, killers will likely get false results.Kinda unfair to blame the killer for that.
Especially if someone other than Jeff is running Distortion.Oh yeah, my bad, I forgot camping is a legit strategy
If running around in circles is a legit strategy then yall have no room to criticize camping.
I abhor 360, but if you are talking about looping that's on you. 360=garbage strat abusing mechanics looping is using mind games and perks to escape.
...I literally said it's a legit strategy just like camping is. I don't even camp but I think it's funny survivors call it out like it's the worst thing you can do and then run in circles all game. Both are strategy. Running in circles works better but that doesn't mean a killer can't camp if they want to.

The game is unbalanced. The average game length is getting shorter. Average survivor bloodpoints are consistently about half of what the killer ends the game with. This is wise from a developer standpoint, but it makes the game very heavily weighed in the killers favor by design. In an evenly balanced game 2 survivors should escape and have scores about equal to the killers. In an evenly balanced game this would be the norm at all ranks. This seldom happens. I main as a survivor but when I need quick bloodpoints I play with an unperked Trapper and usually get 3 to 4 kills without even trying that hard. I don't understand anyone who mains as a killer and complains. It is so easy as a killer and with the new perks it is getting easier all the time.I would LOVE to know your killer rank if it's "easy." Basically everything you said was wrong except that the average game length is getting shorter, which also helps survivors btw, and the survivors get less BP, which is because there are 4 of you sharing in the bloodpoints whereas there is one killer doing everything so yeah, you will individually earn less but added together it's much more.
You said 2 survivors should escape every time if the game was balanced. Problem is, this is an ASYMMETRICAL HORROR GAME. The killer is supposed to be stronger, faster, and threatening. He is supposed to kill. The real problem is that survivors cried when they couldn't easily win so devs nerfed killers and buffed survivors so it's 50/50 now, and yet survivors are still complaining because they don't win every game and can't constantly bully killers.

Anyone else noticed that killers have to wait 10+ minutes for a game? I sure have, and i don't know if any of you have noticed, but it isn't down to a glitchy matchmaking system, as that would slow survivor ques too. The reason is all the recent survivor nerfs / killer buffs. Constant complaining from a lot of killer mains has led to these changes, and sure, they may seem fair for killers, but the game should be unfair for killers. There's 4 players on one team, and one player on the other, so you need only 20% of players to actually want to play killer to get an even waiting time and fast ques. Instead killers just complained and complained, rather than trying to get better at the game, and now we have a bunch of idiots playing killer, no one playing survivor, and a broken game where no one can play how they like. I always said to stop moaning survivors were op, but all i got called was salty survivor main. Now look where you've got us...Oh? So where's all of your proof for this? Where's all of the data you have of amount of players playing killer vs survivor huh? Or did you just make this up?
I'm sorry but have you read any other posts on these forums. I don't even play survivor hence my salt, but i know that many survivors stopped playing because it was too hard, especially for the new ones. Meanwhile SWF still escape every game because they nerfed solo survivors not SWF
That does not prove anything. Just a few "vocal minority" survivor posts has nothing to do with playerbase. Like I said, unless you have solid proof, you are just grabbing at nonexistent straws.
Well i can say the same for killers who cried survivors OP with no evidence. That was until a month ago when they showed that actually, killers kill 2.5 survivors per game on average, which is more that half, even though the game is supposed to be asymmetrical. There's your facts that your so obsessed with
I don't think you know what an asymmetrical horror game is supposed to be like.

This post is not a request for an absurd killer nerf. This post is a merely a query about the status of the community and the game's mechanics and point systems. As a person who used to watch "He who shall not be named" and a person who has played my fair share of the killer role, I am no stranger to how toxic and bitter the community can be. This is especially true for survivors who can use strength in numbers to verbally (textually?) harass players. Knowing this, I've begun mass sparing survivors that aren't deliberately trolling me, but given the phrase "don't feed the trolls" I may even begin sparing them.
The reason I'm sparing survivors is due to the fact that when most of the survivors escape it means that they are more satisfied. If they are more satisfied with the outcome, then they will be less toxic correct?
I look at it this way: if a survivor escapes they get 5000 BP (+2000 BP if they get the hatch) As a killer I get 2500 BP for killing everyone. Assuming that I would be killing everyone by hooks (moris don't grow on trees.) I would already get 6000 BP from hooking everyone. If I don't kill everyone and only go to the second hook I can gain 4000 BP instead with the bonus of reduced post-game toxicity in most cases. In addition to the reduced toxicity chance, I also can gain more BP through the other three categories (Brutality/Deviousness/Hunting) With just 4 extra attacks I can reach the same BP as if I had just killed everyone (admittedly the total is in two categories but points are points!). With 5 more attacks after that, I can get the same result if I had just killed everyone. So as long as I can get 9 more attacks in after 2 hooks on each survivor I will have essentially the same BP as if I had killed them outright. As a person who mains Huntress this is not terribly challenging for me so I guess my question is why would I kill?
From my experience, not brutally murdering everyone, in general, makes everyone a little happier as the survivors don't get salty and you still get the points. All in all, it just seems like killing folks isn't worth it. Granted I run the risk of being gen-rushed if I fail to keep map pressure up. However, since I run Whispers I am almost always applying pressure to someone.
For all of the people who will just shout that the killer should always kill I'd like to point out that by not sacrificing the survivors I'm technically putting them through more pain and suffering as I deny them the sweet release of death.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rhKoxicQLgWhat are your thoughts folks?
I don't know what game you are playing but for me toxic survivors are toxic whether they live or die. If they die, I'm a camper/trash killer/tryhard. If they live, the game was ez/I'm a trash killer/git gud/etc. You cannot win with toxic survivors. They'll be toxic no matter what happens because their lives are sad. Note: I am only talking about toxic survivors, not all survivors. If you talk ######### to every killer after a match, I'm talking about you.

There is no way this man is naturally in between 15-20 ranks. These scumbags stay at those ranks to bully new killers
Not necessarily true. I have lots of tier 3 add ons for survivor but I still suck at it lol plus I'm a killer main so my rank reset and reset and reset without me playing all that often so I'm in the noob ranks but not by choice.
-
Since I'm rank 1 every season I might be a master xD if it's this easy as killer when I meet 1000 hour survivors then I don't know. You should maybe try survivor sometime

You're so full of ######### lol bye.
-
Also LOL at you want more of a challenge yet you play survivor constantly and want killer nerfs.
-
Why would it be pathetic? xD I want more challenging games as killer. Not to rely on all the aim assist I got from the developers xD
You just said you're a survivor main but you want killers nerfed for the killers, so we have more of a challenge. Thanks mate, that's really kind of you looking out for us like that but I think we can speak for ourselves. I know with your whole 100 hours of killer you must be a master and all but we got this.
-
So there isn't less pallets on the maps, closed off windows to long loops, less safe pallets, and you're getting smoked on the best killer map...well damn? The game needs more pallets than most maps. The entire map except for two rooms one on top and bottom is a dead zone. Loops will always be a thing, there is no other way to efficiently evade a killer for more than 2 seconds, it's even harder to get from one safe zone to the next now. Also, I'm curious what alternative to looping do killer mains propose?
The best killer map LUL. The Game has waaaaaaaaaaayyyyy too many pallets especially considering how many windows there are in close proximity as well and how small the square footage is. That map used to be good for killers but now? No way.
-
Rank 1 last season. 90% of getting atleast 3 people. Hillbilly main prestige 3 all event stuff unlocked. 1200 hours. Where 100 hours of my 1200 hours is killer hours. The rest is survivor hours. I don't like playing killer since it's too easy. Not cause I never played it. And I know what you meant with changing the sky color and all the #########.
Literally if ANY of what you said is true then this post is even more pathetic than I originally thought. And LUL that killer is too easy. Go play some killers games, record them, and report back plz.

Spirit
-
Great how you're resonating, But changing the sky to red from blue would make a big impact on game experience since the brightness of the color seem to disturb some survivors. Small things like this is what's so called "balancing" I still think they missed the point. A killer can easily get a 4k. If it's a good killer? Survivors quit. Since it's like allready 30% of getting out

...changing the sky from red to blue or whatever, that was an analogy, not an actual suggestion by the OC. If you think a killer can "easily" get a 4k, then you are clearly not very good and/or low rank. Don't come in here asking for killers nerfs when you're a noob survivor. Instead, play the game for awhile, learn, and get good.
-
No seriously, I feel when I for instinct vault. In the smaller areas I CANT vault now! they have changed everything, they even mentioned it in the patch notes. The patch notes speak against everyone. They said, "Increased hit zone detection for killers"
"Increased the fast-vault distance from 1 meter to 1.75 meters"
In the 2.4.0 update
"Reduced the red stain"
...
I'm just saying! These changes seem small to you. But in result it's way much harder to survive!
A slow vault can ruin a survivors life. And the pallets, if you're lucky you get the right map, and the right killer!
This is not bait or any kind of exxageration.
(Sorry for crappy English*)This game is SO survivor sided that these tiny changes are the least they could do to help balance it a bit more. Get good.

it's also possible to be bug of new engine, and as it might feels confusing and kind of nerf to the pig, it's mostly matter of time to get used, to not listening where sound come from and just take it as piece of information.
so i cannot agree to it as any form of nerf as it gives more valueable informationI don't want to get used to it, I want it fixed. It's either a shadownerf which is wrong on so many levels, or a bug that needs to be fixed. Either way, they should put it back how it was. It's distracting and does not help anything. If I want to see if someone got their trap off or not, I look at the UI. I don't need the laughing going off all around me every second without giving me any indication of where it is coming from. Before, if you heard it, you knew they were near by and could tell which direction they were. Now it is a useless and annoying sound effect.

So say they're in the killer shack, you just use frenzy, vault the pallet, then cancel and immediately M1 them?
Does that sound balanced to you?
when nurse can just teleport over the pallet and smack them, yes it does lmao
If nurse misses she gets a stun, legion doesnt.
Nurse at least takes some skill to use, legion wouldnt
And nobody ever said nurse was balanced. Its widely acknowledged shes the best because she breaks the game.
He gets a stun when he misses an M1 too, this is about his M2.
-
I've noticed this too and for me it's like a nerf because I can hear it but I have no idea where it is coming from so I might as well not hear it. I think I preferred when if I could hear it, it meant they were near me, and I could directionally tell where they were. I was super confused the first few games I played recently when I kept hearing the noise but not seeing anyone nearby.
-
I prefer Spirit but that's mostly because even though I play on PC, I use a controller and Nurse (along with Huntress) is basically impossible to play well with a controller, so I've all but given up even trying to git gud at her. I'm so happy Spirit exists (and wish her picture was on this forum, I would so use that as my default pic) because she's the Nurse I never got to play.

No wonder that ass killer is in the current top 3. He have basically no terror radius with monitor and abuse even at tier 2. basically he's a better wraith who don't even need to decloak and have instadowns when he needs io. Give him normal terror radius at tier 2 since his as trong as a trapper in that form, so M&A wouldn't make him bull$hit to play agains.Honestly, the more posts like these I see, the more I figure that some people play DBD for like 20 hours total across 7 months or something.
And only play Survivor.
At Rank 20.
In KYF.
With one other person.
Who is AFK.I'm going to assume that this post isn't the obvious bait that it is and just answer as if it was a real concern raised by an actual human who isn't giggling to themselves right now.
I'm not going to go into specific mechanics about Myers' terror radius or lack thereof, I'm just going to mention that Survivors have a 3rd person camera that they can rotate around at any time. Survivors can therefore achieve such inhuman feats as being able to see a mile behind them while focusing on repairing a gen and facing the wall.
You can even look around corners and align yourself in such a way that you have perfect spatial awareness and can see Myers well before he is within stalking distance.Furthermore, Myers has a plethora of weaknesses that range from starting the match moving at almost the same speed as Survivors (slowest non-Nurse Killer in the game) and having the lunge range of a particularly ambitious poodle... using only his paw.
In order to leave this hellish experience, Myers must waste a lot of time chasing Survivors and trying to stalk them - because Survivors who don't just play the game at Rank 20 with their AFK roommate don't just sit obliviously and let Myers stalk his way to Tier 2. They see him coming ahead of time and starve the ever-living f$%^ out of him by breaking line of sight and getting more and more distance on him until he's forced to try and juggle "stalk feedings" and hope that the next Survivor he tries to sneak up on just happens to not be rotating their camera in his direction. After leaving the god-awful Tier 1, Myers is now an uncloaked Wraith with minimal terror radius (if using both M&A with the Dead Rabbit addon). Whether or not he can pop Tier 3 is irrelevant since in both "forms" Myers has all the loop-countering potential of a particularly frustrated Hillbilly. In other words, we're back to poodle comparisons.
To put it diplomatically, Myers is extremely allergic to looping. Like most Killers. He has the threat of an instadown but that threat doesn't mean much if he can't get a single hit by the time 60 seconds have passed. Even if he can, he will usually lose 1-2 gens to a decent looper on most maps and after getting a hook he has no ability to rotate fast enough to stop more gens from popping.
Myers is at best a "mid-tier" Killer - he has a.... pretty good tool in the right situations, but it has a lot of dependencies and factors that come with it and he has no map control or mobility beyond that of an uncloaked Wraith / Trapper with no traps / Hillbilly who forgot his chainsaw at home / that poodle again.
slow clap

I'm pretty sure this is just cheesing through him trying to make him the slightest bit viable. Option A would be quite situational and would usually work only against bad survivors since no experienced player will run into an open field when being chased. Working your way up to option B would be absolutely tedious and time wasting. The fact is that it's literally impossible to win with him against proper survivors no matter how good you are. The game punishes you for using your ability and also punishes you for not using your ability (110% ms).I would I could upvote this a million times. Devs, fix Legion.
-
In as strong as trapper i meant he have the same speed and lunge, so he should have the same terror radius too but it's fookin 12 meters smaller. At tier one he basically have -2 meters terror radius ffs (said trapper cuz hes the template of normal killers). And about the other stuff, no there is no counter to him doing the no terror radius sheet ulness you're a nolifer playing this game for 2500+ hours of course, or the RNG gods granted you a map where he sucks (like swamp). Hag is allso bullshit tho everyone hates her.
Or just look around when on a gen instead of staring off into space?
He has a small terror radius in Tier 1 and is also slow AF, so he isn't equal to Trapper like in your analogy.
-
They literally always post patch notes with a patch.
-
Or just get rid of the hatch entirely and have one exit gate randomly open when 1 survivor is left. Or get rid of the hatch and DON'T have an exit open and the last survivor will get killed like they should because they didn't finish the gens.
