How to tackle this Hillbilly build?

Hillbilly with Barbecue & Chilli, Spirit Fury, Enduring, Hex: Ruin

Till now this one is the most painful killer in the game, so how would you manage it?

Comments

  • Honestly? Stealth. If you know it's a hillbilly you should be prepared for BBQ and ready to hop in a locker at a moment's notice. Otherwise keep track of pallets if you can and try to tell when he has Spirit Fury ready.

  • Fix gens through ruin.

Counter bbq by either getting into locker or being close to hook .

Stay at strong loop while giving away your aura.

If you see Billy getting out of pallet stun very quick dont try to stun him.

Force billy to hit you by looping him at T wall loops . Then you no longer have to worry about insta down.

  • Stealth. Work through the gens. Until you or someone else happens upon ruin at a good time.

Lockers before he puts them on a hook after he downs someone.

Try to confuse them at loops and juke off.

I know how to deal with bbq, but you can't just hiding and stay steathy without doing gens, unless he's chasing obsession, I don't know if he's in the chase far away or patrolling gens. Plus some gens are far away from locker in the case I need it.

  • You can hide behind the gen. Or you can fake going in one direction then turn back.

  • Step 1: Learn to hit great skill checks

Step 2: Hit great skill checks

If a wild Hillbilly appears in process, proceed to loop him but make sure to drop the pallets without actually stunning the Hillbilly!

Step 3: Wait at the open exit gate to teambag him.

    Step 4: Leave

  • ruin billy defenitely a pretty big annoyance. if you're solos it just might be unwinnable if the billy is a decent player

  • @artist the only reason it’s most times Unwinnable is Bc the swf we get lobbied with refuse to use lockers🙄

It's unwinnable because of Ruin? A perk that only affects bad Survivors and can totally be nullified with skill?

That's pretty funny but also very sad...

  • Unwinable because of the perk that blows in the first 10 seconds of the game. Ok.

its unwinnable because billy is already a fantastic killer that can put out a lot of pressure. add ruin onto to that and its really hard to progress the game as survivor. also this logic people have of "just hit great skill checks" is so dumb lol. no one hits every great skill check, there's no denying that

that doesn't happen every game, don't act like you don't know that. and its been happening more recently because of broken hex spawns. ever notice that the first hex totem always spawns to the left of the coal tower, either next to some trees or in a structure?

on a side note: stop going straight to your ruin at the start of a game. survivors are watching u

  • Lockers, basic mindgames.

    It’s not that hard.

EDIT:Ruin is easy to hit... it’s just a great skill check. It may be a minor inconvenience, but you’re teammates may go totem hunting at the start.

  • @artist

What do you mean, no one hits every great skill check? Even a decent Survivor will hit half of them, a good one will hit 80-90% so the effect of Ruin results in maybe 10-15 seconds per gen.

If that's enough to make the match unwinnable, you have bigger problems :)

hey just to remind u not every game is a 4man squad with players who sweat in this game lmfao

  • @artist

How the hell is that of any relevance now?

You don't need a SWF to hit great skill checks, you realize that? 4 solos have the exact same potential to hit the great skill checks as a 4x squad.

You don't need a squad to land a few skill checks.

my point was not everyone is a decent or a good enough player to consistently hit great skillchecks, u shouldn't be surprised by that

  • @PiiFree u said it yourself, "a perk that only affects bad survivors"

I'm not surprised at all by that but you realize what this means, right?

If the lack of skill causes a problem for people to win, it means they can solve the issue by simply getting good at the game.

Who would've thought that you will have trouble winning if you suck at the game? Crazy!

with your logic, what would be the point in bringing ruin if a group of skilled survivors join ur game? there wouldnt be, you'd still bring it tho.

but in a real game situation, however, there'd defenitely still be a point because people will always mess up skillchecks. there are people who play this game on a daily basis who manage to still accidentally blow up gens

  • I’ve honestly seen my fellow survivors completely throw matches Bc they refuse to get better and learn to hit these skill checks and would rather have three of themselves running around looking for ruin going down back to back Bc they won’t get in a locker for bbq .

it is certainly a survivor fault. They can’t handle it. Too busy freaking out than thinking or trying I guess🙄

to be fair, if you got better with billy, you wouldn't need ruin in the first place

  • @artist

There is absolutely no point in bringing ruin if you face a group of skilled survivors, that's why good Killers will consider other perks instead.

    Now here's the thing though:

    • You don't know the skill level of the survivors
    • You don't know the spawn place of Ruin

Those are two big risks you have to take when you bring Ruin. You hope for a good spawn and you hope for incompetent Survivors.

Normally and logically, I would say that the chances of getting incompetent players in high rank is rather small but in a game like DbD where even unskilled players can easily reach Rank 1, that appears to be different.

Ruin is technically a noobstomper perk, skilled Survivors will just ignore it but because there are so many unskilled players in Dead By Daylight, it's actually still pretty good even in high rank.

The effectiveness of Ruin is solely based on the incompetence of Survivors and/or the spawn location, nothing else matters.

And the fact that you think Ruin makes games almost unwinnable just proves my point. It's almost unwinnable for people that suck, but it's effectively no difference for players with skill.

for starters, its obvious that ruin will hurt a lesser skilled player a lot more than a better one. I never said ruin makes a game unwinnable. who ruin is paired with is what will make a game unwinnable (I also pointed out if you're solo). which is why I said earlier to another user " if u get better with billy you dont need ruin". these killers are high tier for a reason, they have the map pressure others lack and make up for with ruin, to buy them time. also you pointed out even bad players can hit rank 1. another reason why solo against a decent ruin billy is basically unwinnable

@PiiFree agreed, and very well said. Which I say as a survivor solo main. I blame my team when this happens. A decent team that knows how to stratagize (even without comms) will not have this issue.

  • Can you guys reccommend a good 4-perk combo against this billy?

  • Ruin Billy is really irritating to go against most the time. The best thing I'd say you can do is force M1s out of him. If Ruin is such an issue, try to find the totem or power through it.

Spirit Fury isn't an issue if you drop pallets a little early. If you get hit near the pallet, let it stand and run to the next loop. If you drop it down he can just Spirit Fury the pallet and two tap you.

Dead Hard, Adrenaline, Balanced Landing, and a perk of your choice are my recommendations for a build. I personally use either BT or Resilience for my perk of my choice. ; )

  • I think u encountered me because I use same build for billy which u mentioned xD

  • @PeenutsButt3r absolutely!

First make yourself learn to hit the skill checks.

distortion- that way your aura is blocked from bbq if you aren’t near a locker or close to him, or hiding behind a gen. It saves time Bc you can also use it just to waste the tokens.

alert- so when he’s kicking gens or pallets you know which general area he’s in and where he’s going next.

anything else for the last two slots you use for your preferred playstyle.

I use aftercare , iron will, or calm spirit calm spirit personally for the last two slots as they help against all killers not just billy.

for billy specifically probz dead hard lightweight combo

so distortion, alert, deadhard , and lightweight against these billy matches if you’re getting a lot.

  • Well, you know what they say, you don't have to be better than the Hillbilly, you just have to be stealthier than the guy next to you.

  • If you want to win against billy, learn to loop really well. Stealth is not a winning strategy, i can tell you that. You may take the hatch, but survivors will lose. The survivors need 2-3 good loopers to win the timerace. If you are not one of them, chances are much lower that the survivors have enough good loopers.

Also know your enemy. Play billy for a while, learn his limits and tricks.

  • Throw pallets early and try to find areas with lots of windows. Teammates rush gens while you run and keep him busy for as long as you can.

  • Where he goes to first on the map normally means ruin is around, Billy with the map pressure are fickle that way, if he chainsaw close to you after loading in look where he stops and runs around, use stealth and wait till he leaves, do a gen close enough (not too close) to it first as they may come back once or twice, after that wait till he is in a chase, then go for the totem or just power through ruin and ignore the above.

Hide behind a gen, change direction or use lockers for BBQ.

Drop the pallet a little earlier and dont try to stun them, this makes enduring and spirit fury wasted perk slots against you.

  • Hillbilly with Barbecue & Chilli, Spirit Fury, Enduring, Hex: Ruin Till now this one is the most painful killer in the game, so how would you manage it?

Try This Discordance, BBQ, Surveillance, and whatever else you want.
