Agreed, it’s wild how many cheaters there are and it doesn’t like anything is being done about them. We need some hardware bans otherwise people just get the game again on a new account and it’s stupid.
-
You think no one cares because we haven’t made 600 posts saying so? I’m happy for the nerf but I’m not gonna make a post about it. I’m also concerned about the broken stuff they are adding in along with the key nerf. We can be happy about one thing and unhappy with another at the same time.
-
I think the change is fantastic. If a survivor has a key and uses it to escape hatch when they’re the only survivor left, I don’t care at all. That’s completely fine. Hatch not spawning with multiple survivors alive is *chef’s kiss* perfection.
Idk about other killer players but I usually don’t care if the last person escapes (unless they were BMing in which case I want to kill them a little more but still don’t care if they escape) so this change is perfect IMO and I’m so glad they finally did it.

skip the objective I had to do 3-4 gens out of 5 as a solo player to even to be able to use it if all 4 people were alive it’s all 5 gens.. killers were just upset they didn’t get there precious 4k every game and over exaggerated key usage… I rarely see keys in my lobby’s it’s always medkits and flashlights heck I see more toolboxes then keys and toolboxes are pointless
If your whole team is alive then why are you trying to use a key anyway? Do the damn gens and escape the way you’re supposed to.

Ah yes, so OP because it prevented a 4k and required three generators to be completed, or three survivors dead, before any potential use.
OP because it let 3 survivors escape with only 4 gens done and the killer couldn’t do a thing about it. It’s not about getting a 4K (why is this always the go to argument? It’s so weird), it’s about one item being able to end a match prematurely, with no skill, sacrifice or prerequisite to its use. Multiple survivors shouldn’t get a free escape without finishing their objective.
Keys are OP, period. That isn’t even up for debate.

1 kill by camping is no win, 3 escapes, depip aren't win Whereas good Player will pip and get at least 2 kills I don't understand where did you pulled out from that they will lose? Because they don't chase one person whole game? Actually patrol gens? Doesn't camp and has a lot more time for new downs? Well interesting
Psst, even good players can have bad matches. This whole calling someone a bad killer if they have a bad match thing is stupid.

I'm not gonna argue with you they are bad players it's their fault and their mistake and their lack of skills own up to it and lose like a man next time you'll realize your mistakes instead turning on puss* mode and covering it up and this is a fact ppl tend to ignore their mistakes and blame others and say "well I had to camp" no you didn't u lost right there when u decided to chase single person whole match
How about you just don’t insult people for how they play a game?

That's an interesting take but let's imagine the following:
The killer plays fair for the whole match gets some distributed hooks and boom endgame but no one dead. Now the killer opts to tunnel an injured survivor out and camp them for the kill. The other three come in and save with BT, block the killer after the BT hit and survivor has still the DS/UB combo since there was no tunneling or slugging up until this point. Doors are normally 99% or open at this point normally.
Now tell what a killer in general is supposed to do in this circumstances which aren't rare given the killer would play fair and distribute his hookings and survivor run preemptively meta perks?
If the killer only opts to camp/tunnel/slug at that point then they might as well go afk.
Not that any of that concerns me since I don't even try anything more than aiming for 2 hooks each and 4 escape in general.
I have noticed the irony that DS actually hurts killers who don’t tunnel the whole game more than it actually hurts tunnelers. I’ve had that exact situation happen to me a few times. I get DSed at the damn exit gate because I didn’t eat the DS earlier in the game. It’s a slap in the face and honestly makes me feel like I should tunnel off the hook at least to eat the DS earlier in the match instead of at the gate.

The fact that survivors can light them over and over again after the killer cleanses them is so broken. Completely unfair BS. All killer hexes are prelit and then are gone once cleansed but survivors can relight their boons immediately after the killer cleanses it. It’s just baffling that they think this is fair.
-
I think just the sound being added to the PTB is a good thing. Adding the visual of the dirt might have been too much but just the sound? Still means there is mind game potential since you don’t know exactly where she’s coming from but you aren’t totally in the dark either. I think it’s a blessing that they couldn’t get it to work in time because the sound could be enough and there’s no reason to add extra unnecessary nerfs to a killer if they aren’t needed. But I do think she needed SOMETHING. Before there was no way of knowing where she was or where she was coming from and it wasn’t fun to verse.

Probably a year or more, because most matches were just aggravating and not fun anymore. I've taken lots of breaks from this game when it just stops being fun.

There shouldn't be a problem if you agree (which I assume you do) that both sides should be equally criticize.
Although I would perfer if people didn't call anyone, either killer or survivor, that they have no skill regardless of the perks they run.
Or, neither side should be criticized for running perks that are in the game. They are meta for a reason, particularly gen slow down perks because the gens go super fast without any gen slow Dow . I can’t think of any perk off the top of my head that is broken in it’s current state or needs nerfing.
Are BT, DS and DH annoying sometimes? Of course. I’m sure Ruin and Tinkerer are too. It doesn’t mean they need nerfing, doesn’t mean the player isn’t skilled, and doesn’t mean any player or meta needs to be criticized.
Also I’m not coming at YOU in particular, this is just a general statement because everyone seems to be criticizing all meta perks/meta builds/players who use met perks and builds and they shouldn’t be.
-
There is nothing wrong with Dead Hard. It’s an exhaustion perk like any other. So many people run it that you should just assume they have it and wait for it or bait it out before downing. Once they use it, it’s gone for the moment. Yeah it’s a pain but like someone else said, if you keep missing at their DH then that’s on you. Once you know they have it you have to remember that and play around it.
Posts like this are why people think killer mains are whiny cry babies asking for everything to be nerfed. You are making us all look bad. Stop it.

Imo DH doesn't need to be nerfed. Ot just needs a risk factor added to it, because most second chance perks have a risk factor where DH doesn't.
It’s an exhaustion perk not a second chance perk.

You need to try other games. I get what you mean by not enjoying other games because DBD can be genuinely addictive, but if you give yourself time away from it and try other games, you will gradually stop wanting to play DBD and begin enjoying other games. Try some single player experiences, there are so many incredible story driven games out there right now.
Red Dead Redemption 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, GTA5, Persona 5 Royal (and Strikers), Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Zelda Breath of the Wild, Dark Souls, Demons’s Souls, Sekiro, Nioh 1 & 2, Spider-Man, The Witcher 3, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Monster Hunter World, Borderlands 3, Pokemon, Cyberpunk 2077, etc. etc. etc. the list goes on and on. Try them, try others.
They are much less frustrating than multiplayer games but still fun and satisfying. The longer you go without playing DBD, the less of a hold it will have on you and the more you can enjoy other games. I often take months and months away from this game because it is so frustrating and I truly recommend you do the same.
I’m not saying never play DBD again but if you find you’re frustrated more often than you’re having fun, step back for awhile. Like I said I do this all the time and the game feels a lot more fun when I come back to it after months away. I don’t have the same built up anger or resentment over unfair things anymore because it’s been 6 months or whatever. If it starts annoying me again, I take another break, maybe a month or two, etc. And I’ve enjoyed so many amazing games in the meantime.

Spirit, Cenobite, Nemesis, Wraith, Trickster off the top of my head have cool attacks and weapons.

BBQ is best used for BP, with the auras a nice bonus you get sometimes. Looking at it any other way is a mistake in my opinion because, as you said, it has many counters. The BP are great so I always run it and I usually see at least one survivor, maybe more, but if BHVR got rid of the BP bonus I would drop the perk in a heartbeat because the aura reading isn’t that strong or necessary. If you don’t need the BP you’re better off with a different tracking perk.
And I just saw this thread is old AF but I can’t delete my comment. Idk why it showed up on the main page but okay.
-
I HATE this map. I have only played it as killer but I can’t imagine it’s fun for survivor either. I was playing Blight with Tinkerer but I can’t get to the gen before it pops because it’s down a 20 corridor maze. It’s so hard to follow scratch marks because of all the turns a survivor can take. There were also no hooks in the library area so I couldn’t even hook 2 survivors I had downed. And if I DC to get away from the awful map I get penalized so I’m stuck playing it. It’s not fun, it’s not fair, it’s not good.
Is it cool looking? Sure, but for a map in this game? It doesn’t work. Please devs disable it and fix it.

Sorry to say that, but with the current lack of killers, even when the mmr test would be turned off, you´d soon face the same red rank survivors non stop.
Do you think them implementing this MMR will help the lack of killers? The MMR is going to make playing killer a nightmare. I refuse to play killer again until it’s turned off. I doubt I’m alone. It’s not fun when every single match is a sweatfest. Before I had variety, some sweats and some easier matches. Now for the killers I like to play the most, it’s sweat after sweat, making me not want to play those killers anymore, and if I can’t play my favorites anymore what’s the point? It’s a game, it should be fun, not constantly stressful and #########. When I play survivor even tough crappy matches don’t suck nearly as badly as sweaty killer matches, those are just anti-fun. Watch CoconutsRTS stream from today and see the Huntress games he had. That’s killer right now.
-
That is 100% not a broken perk. Survivors have the upper hand in this game. In the current MMR, survivors will be winning more and more and killer’s games will be worse and worse. Nerfing any killer perks is the worst thing the devs could do.

This, though I also think Laceration should not regress and should just reset every time the Survivors health state changes. That way it can be used more strategically and not hurt Trickster to drop a chase.
Yeah I personally think laceration regresses way too quickly but Main Event being useless is definitely his biggest downfall.
-
@FFirebrandd said:
I honestly do not want them to make Trickster a 4.6 killer. I would very much prefer any Trickster buffs be aimed squarely at Main Event. It very much needs some help and is by far the worst burst power in the game. But Trickster's base kit? Honestly it has some very good strengths and some weaknesses both sides need to play around and... I'm good with it.
It would depend what they do with Main Event but I do completely agree that he could be perfectly viable at 4.4m/s if he had some kind of buff elsewhere. It’s just that at that speed with his current kit he’s sooooo bad. Like, they clearly know that making a killer have 4.4m/s speed means they need to make up for that somewhere else in their kit but with Trickster they didn’t make up for it.
I’d love to hear people’s ideas for a better Main Event that, with no other changes or buffs to him beside that, could make him viable. Maybe the devs will see them and take notes for a future update to him (fingers crossed).
-
I personally wouldn’t want someone to message me outside of the game or send me a friend request or anything but a post game chat message of “gg wp” is nice when it’s a good game. I’m on PC so post game chat is easy so that could be why I would find it strange where a console player wouldn’t.
If I get my butt kicked then “gg wp” can feel sarcastic and condescending even if it isn’t meant that way but just a “gg” would be fine in that case. Idk I’ve had too many survivors harass me over the years to the point that now I just very quickly say “gg” and leave to avoid the onslaught but getting a nice message instead of hate in the post game chat is nice.

There's a difference between survivors rushing gens and being camped on hook.
If the killer couldn't stop the gens quick enough then that's their fault. Blame the devs for the gen speeds even, but a survivor being camped never had a chance in the first place.
Yeah they did, it’s called looping and not getting caught in the first place. Camping is crappy and stupid (real camping) but acting like the survivor “never had a chance” is just incorrect.

Either get rid of Main Event altogether and make him 4.6*m/s or make it so he moves at 4.4*m/s during Main Event. There, he's fixed.

IMO the only thing he needs reworked is Main Event, it rarely comes into proper use. Everything else about him is fine.
Yeah if they made his Main Event feel useful then the other stuff wouldn’t feel as bad but the combination of being so slow and taking so long to injure and down plus having a basically useless ability, it just feels terrible.

The devs absolutely look at all the reports, and take things like racist slurs incredibly seriously. In my opinion, although I'm not a dev, the stuff in that chat was worth punishing and I suspect the team would agree.
Reporting them in post-game chat is the first step, so it's good that you did that. The next step is to send those screenshots you posted here to the team via a Support Ticket - the original, uncensored versions if you have them (although it's good that you censored them for the forums). Contact Support here https://support.deadbydaylight.com and submit a ticket under "Additional Player Report Information".
Sending the profile links in the ticket as well couldn't hurt either.
You can find more information about bannable offences and how to report them correctly here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system#latest
EDIT: Mandy beat me to it! But yes, point still stands - submitting a Support Ticket like she suggested will definitely help.
I put each of their SteadID64 on the report form and after you said this I went and took full page screen shots and submitted them in a comment on my ticket along with links to their Steam profiles so hopefully they have everything they need to do SOMETHING. I understand being kind of annoyed or even mad after a match, but I don't understand this level of vitriol. I hope they were just trying to stop me from reporting by saying reports don't matter. Didn't work though!
Thank you for the help and suggestions!

IF you've reported in game, the chat logs will be kept and reviewed - I'd also advise sending a Support Ticket with the relevant information https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=191426
But the in game report must have been made otherwise there's nothing we can do.
I did report in game each of them that said something and basically just wrote "said racist stuff in chat" or whatever, but I will submit a ticket too if that will help.

People will never stop complaining bud.
And I agree
Sometimes gens go to fast, but most of the times killers main use this because of their lack of skill to apply pressure.
I love when people use the terms "apply pressure" or "map pressure" as if they mean anything or make sense. There is one killer and 4 survivors. The killer can chase only one survivor at a time. The chases can take a hell of a long time, so the killer has to decide between following through on the chase, or dropping it and chasing someone else. The killer cannot pressure every gen, all the time, and also chase and hit and down and hook survivors. They are one single person who can only be in one place at a time. In the time it takes the killer from the start of the match to find a survivor, chase them, hit them, chase again, hit them again to down them and finally hook them, the 3 other survivors could be finishing one gen each, so the killer can get their first hook and then have 3 gens pop right after. That is not good or fair. That is not a problem with the killer "not applying pressure." That is a problem with the game where gens go way too fast, and there is no other objective for survivors to do so the game is more than half over already and the killer has gotten one hook. It's ridiculous.

@feechima said:
Gen times are in a good place. If gen speeds increased ONTOP of all the slow down perks there are, survivors would never be able to get out of a match with POP/RUIN (the current meta) and thana, dying light. And if you think killers would be so kind as to not pack on more slow down perks, ontop of longer gen times, you can just look to forever Freddy. Once someone found out the formula to this obnoxious and boring build, it became so prevalent the devs had to step in to stop it. To change something as significant as gen speeds would mean reevaluating every gen slow down perk and add on in the game. It seems so simple, but it is not.
1) Dying Light and Thana are trash. Thana was in a good spot for like a minute before the devs nerfed it down to an at most 16% decrease in repair speed. Not worth the perk slot. Dying Light, I don't even understand what this perk does anymore. No one uses it because they nerfed it to hell when they messed around with the Obsession mechanic. Giving your obsession a 33% boost to healing speed is NOT worth whatever the hell this perk gives you in return.
2) Ruin and Pop are the current meta because killers HAVE to use them to slow the game down. Trust me, if I didn't HAVE to use Ruin and/or Pop, I wouldn't. There are plenty of other perks I would rather be using but I feel like I am stuck with them permanently in my builds because without them, the game is 4 minutes long. Do you know how boring it is to only have like 1 perk you can actually play with because the rest are required? I feel like I have to run Ruin, Pop and BBQ, so I have one perk slot left for "fun" perks and that's it. I hate it. I would much rather be able to craft different builds with works that work with each other, but as the game is now, it isn't feasible to do that at high ranks. The game will be too short and completely unfun.
3) Even if a few killers did pack them all on, so what? None of them stop you from doing gens, the ones we currently have are incredibly weak, and if the devs did do something to prolong gen times then I'm sure they would work on the gen slow down perks anyway, so honestly that's just a bad argument in my opinion. The devs would NEVER let the game slide into killer sided territory for long. If something like that happened, they would fix it as fast as they nerfed Oni. A few forum posts from pissed off survivors and those perks would be nerfed to hell. But if they are genuinely unneeded because gens suddenly aren't ridiculously easy to complete in under a minute, then I wouldn't even care if they nerfed them all.

People don't believe I'm a killer main because I go against the norm. The norm is; killers complain about survivor's ######### (keys, generators,ds,dead hard, etc) and survivors complain about killer's ######### (Mori, noed, spirit, nurse, etc)
If you see my previous posts,I'm not to the killer's side neither the survivor's. I'm just saying my opinion without being affected by my favorite role xd
Um no, people don't believe you're a killer main because you talk like someone who has never played killer lol. And if you only play at low ranks then you cannot have an informed opinion on gen rushes because you don't see them at low ranks.
-
I find it hard to believe you're a "killer main" or if you are, that you play at red ranks if you think those perks slow the game in any meaningful way. The devs need to do SOMETHING to slow the game down, or like someone above said, fix the maps so the chases can't be as long if they don't want to fix gen speed or add another objective. They need to do SOMETHING because I have had matches where all the gens are finished in like 5 minutes and I'm not sure what I am supposed to do about that as the killer considering I can only chase one survivor at a time, and if you constantly start a chase then leave it to chase someone else, you apply a tiny bit of pressure but get zero hooks, and the person you just stopped chasing jumps on a gen to take the new person's place anyway. The killer has to chase, hit, chase, down, and hook, four survivors, three times each to 4K. You cannot do that in 5 minutes. Even to get a 2K, if you only go after the two people you end up killing (which never happens) that's still a chase, a hit, a chase, a hit, a hook, times 3 hook states, times 2 survivors. And that's if you never chase or hook the other two which again, isn't usually the case and you're usually chasing/hitting/trying to hook all 4 at various times.
The problem is at low ranks survivors are too scared to just bang out gens, but at high ranks they are incredibly optimal and they can work through Ruin, and the rest of those save for Pop don't do much of anything. Sloppy Butcher slows healing, doesn't affect gens. Thanataphobia, at best, only gives a 16% speed reduction to gen repair, and that is if every single survivor is injured. That is NOT a big difference. Dying Light is the same thing - it gives like a 15% speed decrease AT BEST. High rank survivors can hit an Overcharge skill check. Etc. etc. etc. Ruin and Pop are the only ones that actually help, and Ruin only barely helps and Pop can only be used on one gen at a time and only for 60 seconds after hooking someone.

If the perks and items literally designed to counter totems cannot placate you, what kind of conversation do you expect to have? What's your proposed fix to the problem you have presented? I'm especially interested, as NOED is not the only Hex perk that is beneficial to cleanse - all of which have to both be traveled to AND cleansed!
I'm legitimately curious - Where do you want the conversation to go, and what is your solution?
The difference is, the other hexes are lit up at the start of the game, and the only other one that gives instadowns requires the killer to do a bunch of stuff first to EARN the instadowns (Devour Hope). You don't just have Devour and get instadowns right away. A perk that gives a speed boost AND instadowns with zero prerequisites is overpowered, hex or not. This is the same reason Decisive Strike was nerfed -- because something as powerful as a free escape (or in the case of NOED, a free kill) is OP, so if that is going to be the result of the perk, there needs to be SOMETHING required to happen or be done BEFORE that can happen to make it fair. If they want to keep NOED for some god awful reason, then add some kind of requirements. Make it that the killer had to have hooked every survivor once first, or he can only instadown someone he has hooked once, or SOMETHING. Personally I think the perk just needs to be gotten rid of and replaced with something entirely different, but I could live with some kind of rework that added a requirement to its use.
And I am not saying this as a survivor main. I was mainly a killer main for the longest time and only recently started playing survivor more often again so now I'm probably 50/50, but even in my killer main-iest times, I never used NOED because it is SUCH a cheap perk, and I don't feel good getting a kill with it, and it baffles me how any killer can. I'm rank 3 killer but rank 11 survivor and it's like every killer I've come across from rank 14 on has used NOED and played like crap all game just to get 2+ kills at the end with NOED because lower rank survivors don't quite know how to counter is like higher rank survivors do.

Yes, because survivors not doing that 5 times during a match means the killer who let all 5 gens get finished deserves to now get some cheap free kills at the last second. Right. 🙄

@Thomasthetrain said:
The killer plays with 3 perks for all the game.
For a perk that it's not even guaranteed to activate.
It's a strong perk at low ranks,yes.
But I don't think the viability of this perk should be lowered at higher beacuse new players have trouble facing NoEd.
New players have trouble facing everything ,tbh even ruin.
I do think a totem counter should be added tho; to close the gap between solos and swf even more.
But the perk isn't viable at high rank (and more killers use it at lower ranks than higher rank anyway) because higher rank survivors are better at finding and cleansing totems, whether dull or hex, so if it comes on at the end and one player is downed, the rest will find and cleanse the totem before going for a save so the killer will usually at best get 1 person from NOED, if that, at high ranks. If the survivors can't find the hex then they will just leave, they aren't gonna go in for a save and give the killer 2 more kills they don't deserve.
The fact is, the perk is useless at high ranks and OP at low ranks. It is either inactive and useless for the killer, or OP and giving the killer kills they do not deserve and didn't actually earn through good gameplay. The perk has no redeeming qualities to it and turns a good fun game into something terrible and unfun. You go through the whole match doing well having fun and then take a hit for an injured teammate and suddenly you're instadowned and your low rank team doesn't know enough to go find the hex and cleanse it or anything, so you're just screwed for making a good play, because NOED.
Also, I really don't care if a killer is only using 3 perks all game. That doesn't somehow make NOED not OP just because the killer is down a perk all game. I also use 3 perks all game when my Ruin goes down in 3 seconds but you don't see me asking for instadowns and a speed boost once all the gens are finished because of it. It's stupid. Maybe it made sense to have NOED once upon a time, but for where the game is now where it doesn't work on good survivors and only works to screw over newer baby survivors and suck all the fun out of the game thus turning them off to it completely, it's garbage. It is just a bad perk and it needs to go.

ok also remove sprint burst and adrenalin , oh wait that would not favor the survivors who play survivor main , just make the game unfair for the killer ok /s
NOED isn't fair though... I play both 50/50, probably killer more if anything, and I think NOED is the worst perk in the game at this point. It is so incredibly overpowered when it's active. It is either completely OP or completely useless - no in between. There is no skill involved and it DOES reward bad killers. If the perk activates, that means all the gens were finished. If a killer then gets a couple kills because they are faster and suddenly have insta downs, how is that NOT rewarding a bad killer? Lol. I NEVER use that perk when I play killer because I have self-respect, because I am not garbage and don't need a cheap end game perk to get kills, and because I know how unfun it is to verse and therefore I don't want to inflict that kind of BS onto other people. If you genuinely can use NOED and feel good about it/not feel like a giant ######### using a cheap perk, then I don't know what to tell you...
