Her vomit should work like Thanataphobia, lowers progress on everything. Make her Vile Purge more deadly but her Corrupted Purge will need a slight nerf to her timer.
On top of that, if the survivors holds off on cleansing I'm proposing a timer on the right hand side that will put you on the dying state once its run out.
It's a virus people, it wiped out her entire population of followers.
That sounds like a good idea. Raise the stakes! I don’t think she needs a nerf to Corrupt but I would take a nerf to it if it meant that Vile had legs to stand on.
I still think there should be a base exhaustion effect, even if only when broken or briefly during vomiting. You’re sick with Plague, and you sure as hell wouldn’t be running no marathons let alone wanting to move at all.
I really hope tomorrow we might hear some news regarding Plague. You know something is wrong when you see legions of Legion even post “ahh Legion’s dead!” but a Plague, much like Head On, is like a unicorn.
Edit: 50 likes-0! Devs please do something!

I got dbd for free and most dlc on sale. I would say roughly 60 bucks with that and a few cosmetics.

I made a longer post in the balance subforum today, but I can summarize it. Spent a long time playing her yesterday and today. She's almost completely reliant on survivor mistakes.
Survivors at higher ranks (purple and red) tend to not cleanse and then cleanse as one. She lacks the map presence to take advantage of multiple broken survivors unless they make the mistake and group up while broken, which again, good survivors won't do. If someone goes down, then they'll cleanse in unison and undo all of the work you did.
Corrupt Purge is inefficient to gain and not threatening due to how slowed down she is when holding it, plus the hit detection is iffy. It's almost always a net loss to go and get it.
Yeah, that hit detection is severely screwed up. On both sides I have experienced missed hits that CLEARLY should have hit (and a bit more rare, the opposite.)
Even those survivors who do cleanse out of sync are quickly learning to either go to a pool that’s near a done gen or a pool that’s furthest from Plague so going there would waste even MORE time for her.
Plague has so many drawbacks that play right into the survivor hands, it’s really ridiculous.
-
I would rather not give power to sandbaggers.
-
I will stick with self care, thanks.
I often play solo and I can’t rely on my teammates, nor do I want to use bond when I like other perks.
Also if a killer takes Franklin’s and you consistently rely on the medkits, you’re kind of exposed.
When I’m not running a farmer altruistic build, I like to use botany - it really comes in handy for all occasions.

I agree completely with the video.
I think it’s great some people can boast about having strong will power (an iron will if you will) about fomo and the predatory business practices plaguing the multiplayer game industry. Good for you.
Other people like myself though have every reason to be concerned. I am extremely vulnerable to such practices. It’s one of the reasons I left Overwatch (which unfortunately got me to get the new limited time Mercy skin) because I saw they didn’t care for balance so much as what will fork over the most $$$.
I used to believe in the “it’s just cosmetic” theory. But that’s what they want you to think. Especially in an age where multiplayer games put ever more emphasis on how you look in the game. It’s very insidious.
Also one of the reasons that I liked about dbd was that yes, there were micro transactions BUT you could get them anytime you wanted - no rush, no fomo. I don’t think that will continue with a battle pass.
I would be okay, not pleased but okay, if they made the battle pass stuff available for purchase anyway.
-
I would rather not use Overwatch as an example of toxicity prevention and model citizenry.
As toxic as this community is, Overwatch is far worse. Probably doesn’t help that “play nice, play fair” is a load of codswallop and if you like an unpopular character, you’re screwed and miserable.

Plague needs buffs. I wish she was in a state where this could be a reasonable suggestion.
Alas she sucks.

I think we ought to see what the power is before we say it's good or bad. A killer like the Spirit has a power bar and she's one of the best killers, after all.
The thing is the last 3 killers including Spirit have power bars
And Spirit is the only one that’s actually decent.
Legion is controversial and Plague is plagued with weaknesses and drawbacks where literally no one plays her and it’s like Legion is considered more the new killer rather than Plague (who never even got a skin collection to celebrate her arrival.)
-
@Blueberry said:
Her bloodpoint gains also seem lower than they should be as well.
I agree. I feel like the very nature of her power messes with her brutality scores, but also her devious points suffer as well. Throwing up on objects should be at least 100, it would also be cool if the longer a survivor is sick or infected, Plague periodically gets a passive amount of points too.
Here is to hoping we hear more about her soon!
If they’re looking at Leatherface, surely Plague is on the menu right???

Decisive strike is more than fair now, and it’s now a part of my kit. It really does help with tunneling. Worst case scenario you boop their snoot as a “shame on you” tell off.

Yes, she’s not like Legion. Because everybody ignores her or forgot about her. Say what you will about Legion, people and popular streamers alike play Legion rather regularly and with outspoken opinions. Seriously, it’s like she’s been completely skipped over from Legion to the long anticipated Scream chapter. The poor girl didn’t even get a fancy schmancy skin collection like Legion did and Ghostface will to commemorate her arrival.
She is not fine. She’s very far from fine. Do not mistake people’s indifference towards her as her being in an acceptable state.

After the last stream, I don't think the devs play with Plague. They treated her like a joke 🤦
Plague definitely need buffs and I'm not talking about her speed but maybe vile purge. Still annoys me on how survivors can deal so easily with her power. The instaheal thing doens't work on her favour, her add ons doesn't make any difference and well, not to mention how ######### time you waste in a chase since she's tall and easily spotted. I think they should change broken to exposed status and let survivors healing after her attacks to give more time. Or at least let survivors suffer from penalitys when they're work on gens like madness from Doctor.
I hope in the anniversary stream today she will be brought up, and hopefully not as a joke. She has so much potential!
Her power just isn’t strong enough to warrant the total elimination of healing and anti heal perks. Thana even is a double edged sword for her because of the nature of how her power works.
It feels like everything takes longer for her too. She has to break gens, slow down - throw up - slow down, etc. that it’s like everything from gen protecting to chases just takes AT LEAST 1/3-1/2 longer.
It also doesn’t help HOW each side sees the fountain auras. I think it might be a bit backwards, and it too hurts Plague. Instead of survivors having the ability to see a fountain across the map, THEY should be the ones to only see a fountain within 20 m. It might also be helpful for Plague to see fountains being used with a yellow aura.
Something has to give!
ps: 40-0!

Instantly opening exit gates is actually a really interesting idea. Though I'm sure most killer mains would detest. 😅
I don’t think so. Especially if Remember Me was returned to its proper place, I think a lot of killers would think it’s fair. I should clarify that I meant that the survivors need to complete all gens or have the egc initiated before opening the gates, they can’t just scoot over there at the start of the trial.

There is literally no point to green keys. They are the only items that are a complete waste of blood points and chest searches. Even green maps are useful.
Green keys should either open the hatch for 5 seconds or instantly open the exit gates.

Sure, the Plague could use some work, but there are killers who need it far more and have been waiting for it for longer (IE Nightmare and Cannibal).
Freddy and Leatherface do need work imo but I think the fact that they both have cult followings with loads of material to learn from, and the fact that they both each have something in their kit that actually makes them threatening to survivors, makes them both a step up from Plague (who has nothing. It’s also a bit ironic the high priestess has no following.)

Maybe they shouldn't reward only people that equipped a specific perk?
Why not? In the current state of the game, dcs screw everyone over. The people who dc are scumbags laughing they ruined somebody’s game and that they denied bbq or even wglf (because petty survivors exist who purposely kill themselves when they see you coming.)
Giving wglf and bbq users stacks on dc would literally take away so much toxic power. “Ha you think you got the better of me? I’m getting paid and you got jack, you salty loser.”

Her addons really do need looking at, not enough addons for vile purge. the prayer tablet fragment and worship tablet addons would be great if they effected vile purge as well, also i'd love it if fully broken would get debuffs if her addons would allow it. There is alot of potential for her, hopefully next patch they'll surprise us.
I really hope so. I just can’t see how you can look at the Plague and how LITTLE she is played, how Legion is treated more like the latest killer and Ghostface the newest one after Legion, and go “yup, everything is fine and dandy.” So I really hope that the devs see sense and give her some love next ptb and patch.
Tbh her purges need debuff effects as part of the base kit because right now the green puke in particular is just fancy sfx giving MINIMAL blood points and losing Plague necessary time she needs to capitalize on quickly.
A nice qol change could be throwing up on gens automatically breaks it. Add ons that give her sickness more play style variety would be great though.
@se05239 said:
Would Plague lose much if the Corrupted Purge (damaging puke) was removed in favor of more potent infections overall? Like, more negative effects and gimmicks.
I think it depends honestly. The vile purge would need to be buffed drastically to make up for it - I personally also think it would help Plague to have an interactive terror radius like Doctor. I remember @Peanits saying something about how Plague and Doc might end up being too similar that way but if you ask me, it makes thematical and logical sense that the two would share common ground. If you play one or the other, the other should come naturally enough. I think it makes more sense than her having similarities with Huntress.
Also too, removing corrupt definitely means the fountains would need changing. They still need changing because the instant heals are way too strong, but when Plague will get nothing from them at all then the fountains need to have a drawback that works in her favor. Like a built in Bitter Murmur or something.

-
It has to be a hex, it’s way too strong for it to be an unavoidable perk.
That said, perks like Lullaby and Devour should only notify AND light up when they have a tangible effect on the game. Same with how Third Seal should be invisible to those affected.

How are Survivors even able to repair an infected gen while puking on it?
There should be some kind of punishment like more or harder skillchecks or a speednerf
I know right?
I was sick as a dog the other week and I thought about how totally unaffected even sick survivors are against Plague. If you’re sick, you don’t want to move because holy hell everything hurts - you wouldn’t be sprint bursting. If you’re sick, you can’t concentrate let alone hit tiny skill checks. There’s so many creative directions Plague could go, but right now she is weak and incomplete.

Care to share with the class what you, and seemingly you alone, have learned that makes her so great at rank 1 with no add ons?

Her design is built upon using Corrupt Purge for damage, but I think she should be more focused around spreading disease/infection, and that impacting survivors.
I agree. I feel weird that I prefer her vile state and wish it was better than essentially being green special effects. I really don’t like how Corrupt eliminates infection on objects.
@dfrenchiee said:
Plague has been my main since she came out and I agree with you; she really does need some help.
Almost all of her add on's except for rubbing oil and anything to increase effectiveness are absolutely useless and don't really help you. They revolve around increasing duration of corrupt when I would much rather have add on's to increase charge speed.
Generators should go slower while survivors are fully sick, and it should pause the generator repair while they are vomiting.
Yeah, it would be one thing if Corrupt was actually as fearsome as Evil Within at tier 3, but it’s not. I personally think a longer duration hinders her because it really hurts what little gen pressure she has. I want her add ons to evolve and diversify her gameplay, make for devious set ups.
without add ons, Plague vomit needs to have a drastic effect on the game so that survivors can’t afford to ignore the fountains. I think even simply being infected should be cause for concern, and that way Plague actually gets something out of her power before they become broken.
-
I actually don’t mind Quentin because to me, it looks like a Quentin that’s been through trauma and generally is sleep deprived through any means necessary.
-
I can’t stand Billy and Leatherface. Billy because he’s hard for me to use (I always miss or hit objects, tbh fast cameras disorient me,) and Leatherface because he doesn’t feel good and it certainly feels like every survivor knows how to juke him.
I WANT to love Plague, I love her design, but she is SO weak and it frustrates me.

By that reasoning Survivors should be allowed to see which Killer they are going to be going up against so they can prepare accordingly.
And we wouldn't want that now would we? fair and consistent balance? oh no no NO! we can't have that!
Huge difference. If survivors saw killers, the game would be over before it started. That’s too big of an advantage because survivor perks actually counter killers whereas Franklin’s is merely annoyance.
-
Killers have to see items to prepare for the match. It’s at their discretion to use Franklin’s or Lightborn etc. to do with as they please.
If you don’t want a killer to dodge, accept that 4 items or multiple of said items or spotting a key (especially with a map) are risky grounds.
If anything, killer items perks need to be stronger. Franklin’s should damage at 33%, OP should go into effect 15 seconds outside the terror radius as well.
And unless they plan on fixing gen rush, there needs to be an item limit.

Just curious: Why do you open multiple Threads about the same topic? You are doing that a lot.
And well, Plague could get some insight, yes. But I actually see quite a lot of Plagues in purple Ranks, and they are perfoming not too bad, but this most likely because people cleanse vs her...
Personally I think that she should get some Buffs regarding her Vile Purge. A Debuff or maybe a second timer which puts the Survivor into Dying State, if he does not cleanse. But then her Corrupt Purge would need some small Nerfs, because it is REALLY strong.
For Iridescent Seal, removing one of the Debuffs would be great (probably the Movement Speed Debuff) and for me it would be good if she does not get the Corrupt Purge directly, but rather a Pool of Devotion gets corrupted so that Plague does not get Corrupt Purge when she is not near any Survivor and cannot use it (obviously this can be the other way around as well, but for me it would be better to control it rather than to just get it "randomly")
What? No, I’m not. That topic is over a week old, I’m a busy person and I can barely remember yesterday. I was playing Plague today and I wanted to vent my thoughts and I remembered a recent topic where someone said how the devs were only keeping an eye her, but not making any changes.
Also, I barely see any topics on Plague so forgive me if I’m trying to stoke the conversation amidst the thousands of topics on MoM, Ghostface, Claudette, incendiary comments about the devs, etc.

Are you sure about that though? I've waited minutes before people realise I'm there as a Mikey. It's funny to wait it out behind them or at a window, you can almost hear the ticking. 😂
In all seriousness though people above are right, it's when they're on gens, wounded/healing and stab themselves to stop the transition or waking each other up in front of you, there needs to be more than a slight debuff to fear the dream world (and more to Freddy's power than I can actually hit you now, let the looping ensue like any other killer, let's be fair the only real benefit of his power is the class photo and the distance aura reading, I dread the thought that maybe if you are in the dream world you're exposed somehow if you're in too long which would be terrifying and an incentive to get out sooner but something is needed.
All things aside, the unhooking and the adrenaline epidemic is what's going to kick you in the pants. You literally can't do much if they unhook in front of you successfully. I played Freddy up to rank 5 prior to a reset in one sitting from rank 12 and even though this was a while ago my play fair motto thing didn't go well with all the old DS, flashlights and every survivor having adrenaline...
Basically rank 20-8 Freddy feels powerful but at any high rank 5 and above against a competent team it's time to enjoy despair. I just hope the rework buffs him without changing his playstyle too much (I'll never forget the joy of seeing a survivor enter a locker just as I walk up to them)
I mean you’re right (and it’s funny/scary) but I mean unless you had a death wish or you’re foolish, you wouldn’t WILLINGLY stick around with a Michael breathing down your neck. People do that to Freddy though and that’s definitely some bs.
-
@dannyfrog87 said:
yeah amazing power when survivors get unhooked right under your nose with no penalty. and is loopable beyond ridiculous levels. yeah the rework needs to happen asap lol
Unhooking was never the problem. You shouldn’t even be near the hook as Freddy. Get some bbq on that boi and find other survivors to sleep.
The problem is finishing gens, waking up, healing, etc. right in front of Freddy. That’s the problem. You wouldn’t keep working on a gen with a Michael towering over you, so the same should go for Freddy. You get slept, you RUN.

Love her, but I always feel I just can't do as much with her...I know this is lulzy but I feel stronger with Freddy and Leatherface than I do with Plague and I get more Kills than I do with her....I have every Killer and for the ones I have leveled up..I pretty much feel like a decent threat or that I can secure Kills,,disrupt what Survivors are doing etc...Plague has all the workings to be a fantastic Killer...but somehow in practice of playing as AND against...she ends up being more of a nuisance than threat imo.
It’s not lulzy at all. When I was a baby unburnt Freddy and seeing how FUN he was despite what people said, I went looking for everything on how to do him justice. And it was really cool because it was almost like a little club or society - you’re not kooky for thinking Freddy’s fun! we know he’s good, just different ;) - and I found a lot of helpful guides and videos, some with the help of this forum.
There’s none of that for Plague. Literally every single video I have seen with her that had commentary amounts to “she COULD be solid but...” and just general unenthusiasim. People seem to pick up new Legion fine, but trying to find Plague gameplay is like pulling teeth.
And there is literally no, zip, zero tips on how to use her other add ons (besides the emetics) and how to create different builds beyond “get sick quick!”

And compared with the Plague who definitely is rough without the EXPENSIVE add ons, at least Freddy has fun and devious add ons to make fun builds with. Plague’s are literally band aids and not very clever.
-
Boil over, I think, already hinders killer movement especially on Saw and Lery’s. I know because I was playing a fun photo pill Freddy build on Lery’s and this Tapp kept pushing me into the wall and I couldn’t move.
-
On paper it sounds cool, and tbh I would be all for making individual survivors more than just skin preferences per se, but in reality it would just make characters like Claudette be played more AND you would have the added bonus of “get off Ace/some other character with weak perks, you’re making us lose!”
The same meta non meta problems that plague Overwatch would infiltrate dbd, and dbd can’t really afford the added toxicity.
In a way, while I would like something to differentiate the survivors in a balanced way, having survivors be just skins is actually quite nice and you’re free to express yourself and make builds how you see fit.
I think characters should immediately start out with their original perks maxed at tier 3 instead of earning them up like everyone else. It would help with the grind, incentivize trying out characters, and give the illusion of individuality without handing out a competitive advantage to be used as a cudgel against others.

@pemberley wait a second, i could have sworn you were in my game? Do you play on PS4? And were you in the Macmillan Estate, Coal Tower Map and the hatch was in near one of the corners? I am on ps4 (although under a different username - jaustengirl) but this particular instance was Mother’s Dwelling, Red Forest. Although today me and my 2 friends had a Freddy on Macmillan coal tower (double party streamers) - I think a hatch got closed but I was tunneled, slugged, and hooked to death by then. Were you the other Meg?
I tend to play Jane since she’s my main.

Well since it was a freddy you probably didn't see that he might have started the closing animation first, which is why you didn't escape.
That wasn’t possible because he was a good few feet away when I started jumping in. And I was IN the hatch. By all rights, I should have escaped even if it was close.

Any killer. I chase a survivor, get close, and it’s like a sixth sense with how a survivor knew skirting left or right or turning around etc. would be in my blind spot.
-
I was working on the last gen when Meg got downed. I knew she was on her last hook, and as a veteran Freddy I know Joes tend to leave 3 down while we look for 4 if we’re that hungry, so I hide. Turns out the hatch was right next to me.
This Freddy didn’t find me and picked Meg up and hooked her within 40 m (although I don’t think he had bbq.) She was on her last hook and died. When the hatch opens, I’m running towards it and Freddy sleeps me but I jump in and my body is literally halfway through when Freddy closes it under my feet.
Was it close? Yes. But I absolutely got the hatch first and fair and square. I was already IN the hatch, the game should have called it quits and I should have escaped.
I think the egc is fine for the most part (although I do think closing hatch against one survivor should null noed since the killer is essentially activating the hex and not the survivors.) I think if killer finds the hatch first, they have every right to close it. But this wasn’t the case. I got the hatch, and I was jumping in.
-
I’m on ps4 and if they’re not outright disconnecting, they suicide or afk into suicide. As a solo survivor this gets me more mad than as killer.
Ironically, as killer, even though I’m stressed out I actually laugh at how utterly pathetic these jerks are - and then I try to take it easy on those left behind if they’re just minding their own beeswax and I’m not doing a challenge.
But as a solo HOLY HELL do I wish those survivors to step on 1000 legos barefoot on a hot pavement.

Plague used to be high tier on PTB and I thought she was pretty balanced. Her movement speed wasn't an issue, she was fast when she was charging and holding Vile Purge however it took awhile for survivors to become infected.
Now she's slow and it still takes awhile to infect a survivor unless you are using addons.
I’m on ps4 so I unfortunately never got to experience her pre nerf state.
I hate how she is literally the only killer in the game who NEEDS add ons to even stand a chance. I’m a Freddy main and a add on hoarder so I regularly play with no or brown add ons - Freddy can be played without anything but the perks on his back.
The very few Plague YouTube videos I have seen (seriously another tell tale sign that she’s not in tip top shape) EVERYONE uses green and purple emetics. It’s asking a lot of expensive investment into her. Not to mention how boring and unintuitive and band aidy her add ons are - Freddy, Michael, Clown, Legion, etc. all have devious add ons to toy and tinker with.
-
:(
They really need it though, especially Plague. I feel like her state speaks for itself when she was a blip when released and now it’s like she’s been forgotten and people play and treat Legion more like the new killer.
-
It would be cool, especially for Legion where skin customizations can be more fluid. It would also allow Legion players a lot more options with skins.
-
I play Freddy regularly as my main, got a lot of perks and add ons for him but I haven’t prestiged him. Does that rescind my Sharp Hand Joe membership card?
