@SlinkyJinky if the Killer successfully downs you the first time and then later finds and hooks you again then MoM will still activates and gives the same benefit compared to if they had healed at some point. Escaping does not assist you in getting the most out of MoM.
Oh but it does. You get far more out of it if you earn your keep with MoM by escaping to mend three times.
Once MoM is prepped if you haven't been hooked you have the added bonus of having 2 hooks before sacrifice.
If your at full health and MoM is prepped to fire off you have two hit points before the next hit will down you.
Far better than if wounded and have already been hooked twice then you only get 1 hit when MoM activates before the next hit downs you and your sacrificed on your 3rd hook.
Having been hooked prior shouldn't make a difference. I mean if a Survivor escapes you before you find them and hook them again it doesn't negate the effects of BBQC so why should it negate the effects of MoM. That would be double standards and surely there are no double standards in dbd!
If you can't see the nuances of strategy in that then your either in denial, haven't used MoM before or stupid.

"gg wp" Causes actual real life physical harm to trolls. It deprives them of their one and only form of sustenance that they depend upon for their very survival.
Every time you "gg wp" post match, a troll dies a little inside. For a better world one less troll at a time, "gg wp" today.
-
Blendette has the best stealth in dbd, even better than Freddies (because she doesn't go around playing a lullaby on a portable boom box)
It allows the Killer to know weather they need to turn their monitors brightness and contrast way up.
-
By that reasoning Survivors should be allowed to see which Killer they are going to be going up against so they can prepare accordingly.
And we wouldn't want that now would we? fair and consistent balance? oh no no NO! we can't have that!
-
Adrenaline pisses me off no end when I'm on Killer, they're about to be downed for their final hook but NOP! They get a free escape they didn't earn + speed hack levels of sprint.
-
Two fixes for this:
- Leave Survivors to finish level and leave with the same amount of bp had they been given the opportunity to de-hook their allies twice each.
- Increase bp gains exponentially to both Killer and Survivors remaining if a Survivor disconnects.
This discourages disconnecting because everyone remaining in match gets good bp where the person who left doesn't
-
Because /easy-mode, babied, dev hand-holding
-
This thread again? just another tunnel vision Killer crutchlord who cant play Survivor because /hard mode so /cries fo Survivor nerfs and Killer buffs
@OP "Changes for MoM We all know that MoM does not require skill to activate" - lol
- Get hit once, escape and mend
- Get hit a second time, escape, and mend
- Get hit a third time , escape and mend
- (by this time the Killer has had 3 chances to hook you and failed, allowing you to EARN your 1 extra hit)
- Next time, the Killer will have to hit you three times before your downed.
Pretty sure juking the killer and earning your pip by escaping = SKILL! lmao
-
I de-ranked because of this ^
-
Yet another ######### Survivor perk that's become totally, absolutely and completely without a shadow of a doubt, obsolete with the introduction of EGC with no re-balance in sight. Nothing new there.
-
It's only an unpopular opinion because 80% of these forums are Killer cry babies who wouldn't have the first idea of how to play Survivor without crouching around on the edges of the map waiting for better Survivors to loop Killers, rescue allies and complete gens against insurmountable odds of YEARS of killer buffs
-
Legion, it's hilarious watching them complain about Legion after Survivors /cried them into 'extinction'.
I hardly ever played Legion pre nerf because of the cheese factor, just didn't feel like I was earning my hooks. Now they're fairly balanced because I didn't get used to playing easy-mode Killer I'm wrecking face with them.
-
4th Survivor evades you all match, plays well, does a couple of gens and rescues everyone at least once.
3 other Survivors are sacrificed and you catch that 4th Survivor. As it is you didn't earn an instant sacrifice but you get one because you cant handle that last Survivor holding out till the of the whole sacrifice to earn their 800 bp from struggling.
No, Killers get enough free hand-holding as it is.

I just tape cat nip to my mouse and keyboard, go to bed and wake up and my cats earned me a million blood points on Nurse.

Surprise attacks trigger MoM stacks.
So 40% from your counters are wrong.
And 20% are ultra rare addons.
And the other 40% things depending on the situation.
Hit the Survivor twice with M1 twice
This argument remember me to the old DS.
Outright lies, mis-direction and smoke screening. Either that or you haven't actually puchased Ash or used MoM on live servers, if you had you'd know first hand that surprise attacks absolutely do not trigger MoM pip progression events.
And the rest that "depend on the situation" are STILL A PART OF THE GAME! and out right prove you wrong when you state "MoM has no counter" It has a good what, 20 counters? Maybe more if I've forgotten any (which I'm sure I have) not to mention the chase them down, hit them twice (registering only 1 pip when it should be 2) hook them and don't let them get rescued counter which ALL KILLERS can do, INCLUDING ME! as I have done this many times since Ash dropped.
-
Traditionally, lower levels require less experience points (or 'blood points') to level up much like how the blood web works. And because of their lack of practical experience they earn less.
Traditionally, higher levels require far more experience (or 'blood points') to level up much like how the blood web works. And because of their practical experience they do earn more.
-
Except it's the people in lower ranks that need more help than people in higher ranks.

Add to that [ More things that counter MoM and will continue to counter them once the nerf drops making it so situational no one in their right mind would ever take it]
Spirit: [ Prayer Beads Bracelet] for stealth gen grabs = Countered
Wraith: [ "The Ghost" - Soot ] + [ Coxcombed Clapper ] for stealth gen grabs = Countered
Wraith (again) Surprise Attack doesn't trigger MoM pip = Countered
Huntress: [ Iridescent Head ] One Shot Down = Countered
Myres: Tier III [ Evil Within ] One Shot Down = Countered
Billy: M2 [ Chainsaw ] One Shot Down = Countered
Bubba: M2 [ Chainsaw ] One Shot Down = Countered
Trapper: [ Honing Stone ] One Shot Down = Countered
Nurse: [ Blink Surprise Attack ] doesn't trigger MoM pip = Countered
Hag: [ Teleport Surprise Attack ] doesn't trigger MoM pip = Countered
Clown: [ Redhead's Pinky Finger ] Exposed One Shot Down = Countered
Pig: [ Sneak Attack ] One Shot Down = countered
[ Hex: Haunted Ground ] One Shot Down = Countered
[ Hex: No One Escapes Death ] One Shot Down = Countered
[ Make Your Choice ] One Shot Down = Countered
Basically any Exposed Status perk / hex / core killer ability = Countered
The Plague [ Corrupt Purge ] Bypasses MoM Pip progression the same way M2 Killers do
So that's Freddy / Doctor / Legion that need to COUNTER MOM by hitting them twice without losing the chase to take advantage of the pip progression bug that grants only 1 pip to MoM for 2 hits, hooking them and patrolling the hook so they don't get rescued
And you know the funny thing? I guarantee you I've missed some!
I hope that's enough hard, undeniable and sourced evidence to sway your god level denial. I highly doubt you can manage it but go ahead, prove me wrong and accept the cold hard reality presented before you.
-
@Frugl1 Just of the top of my head:
Myres - Countered
One Shot Trapper mod - Countered
One Shot Huntress mod - countered
M2 Killers - countered
Hex: Noed - Countered
Hex: Haunted Ground - Countered
Everyone else:
Hit the Survivor twice with M1 twice to down them in the initial chase and it only counts as 1 pip (bug). hook them and patrol so they don't get rescued - MOM COUNTERED
Hit the Survivor from Surprise Attack with M1 and it counts as 0 Pips. Hit them again and they have 1 pip, hook them and patrol so they don't get rescued - MOM COUNTERED
If it triggers? chase them down AND HIT THEM AGAIN! (It's not hard, I've done it twice today) - COUNTERED
If you let them escape? They earned a pip. Get the hell over it lol. It's not like they can do it all match long with zero repercussions like any one shot Killer out there. They can do it once safely then the Killer gets a guaranteed hook due permanent to aura reading debuff or they choose to go the rest of the match with 1 hit point.
-
The amount of times I've been at 99% wiggle on the verge if not already on 100% and been hooked regardless. lol

They will soon regret DCing because once dedicated severs come out boy oh boy!!!!!!! They won't be happy any more cause they just got a message that there banned:( every one play sad music to the DCing players:) this is great news no more dcing:)
And no more matches because there's no more people to play against.
Very sad.
At least no more entire lobbies de-pip due to rage quitting scrublords:
-
Monitor & Abuse + [ Red Paint Brush ] = ZERO TERROR RADIUS FREDDY <3
-
@McEchoChamber ^ The amount of counters available to Killers have for MoM are hilariously long which I have listed countless times so I won't be listing them again which everyone if they're honest knows about but won't admit to because they want their easy ride.
Kind of sad really.
-
Premium classes should never be pay 2 win but always fun to play. Like Freddy!
Where as non premium classes give new players an easy-ride (because they're new and need to get eased into the game) like Billy!
Until they've learned the game and want to challenge themselves with a harder, more rewarding premium class, like Freddy!
-
Ooh! it's story time:
Having no friends the Doctor camped himself in the mirror on the weekend one too many times till one day he snapped and forgot how 'skill' worked, so now all he does is tunnel and face camp.
So sad!
Learn from his mistakes and be a "Gentleman Killer" or one day you might find yourself a skill-less face camping sack of trash. 😤
-
Get hit de-hooking a team mate from a face camping sack of trash then lose them to mend = Skill
But in @Mister_xD's imaginary world of make believe the only skill in dbd is M1 or M2 (most likely M2 one shot crutchery, let's be honest)
Entity's left nut sack the Killer Echo Chamber on this forum is real
-
I'd like an item auction house with an in game economy so I can just go in and buy what I want and sell what I don't need.
-
Dear god the Echo Chamber in this forum is real ^
-
But! No blendette version 2.0?
-
Wiggle free mechanic is almost always guaranteed to be a waste of effort because hooks are always, ALWAYS spaced too close together even if you've applied an offering to shorten the distance it'll never be enough for it to matter.
Even with Boil Over which doesn't actually shorten the distance or make the wiggle bar go faster it only makes your wiggle motion more dramatic so it's completely pointless.
And FlipFlop is dependent on being neglected on the ground by the Killer so the ONLY reason to wiggle is to stop the Killer putting you in the basement.

@SmokePotion said:
Sorry dude. It's a chase extender. And basic, simple math can tell you it's bad in the current state of things.
I don't like tying it to safe hooks, and making it a reverse Borrowed Time. Because Killers are nudged in the direction of tunneling due to Pipping changes. (i can't count how many 3k games i have where I black pip, and 4k games where i only get 1. And don't get me started on a 2k game "entity displeased" 2k games are what they are balancing for, and they are punishing killers for it. You have to hook everyone 3 times as a killer.)
That's why i think it should be tied to generator repairs. Preferably, the person using the perk has to finish a generator themself, or have x amount of time repairing generators before it is activatable.
If MoM is a chase extender than 1 shot mechanics is a chase shortener.
They mirror each other exactly bar one detail. One can't be OP without the other being OP or we're talking double standards bar one exception:
One shot mechanics have several points of detail which are from a basic premise far more "OP" than MoM: One shot mechanics take away 2 health bars and they do it all match long where MoM only gives 1 health bar and can only be done safely once per match.
By that infallible unquestionable reasoning if someone says MoM is OP then their saying that 1 shot mechanics are exponentially more OP and therefore needs a nerf far more than the one extra hit point that MoM gives.
-
Yes.
-
All I know is the ones that shorten Feral Frenzy Bleed out effect are pretty much completely useless. And that rules out some of the more 'powerful' mods.
-
I don't trust those links. I mean it's "Youtu.be" not "Youtube".
-
@ClogWench said:
@SlinkyJinky body blocking counts as protection though if I'm not mistaken. And considering the tradeoff is an immunity to any hit that would down you, from injured or otherwise, that's a pretty solid effect.
@ClogWench It does if it works which it rarely does. MoM will be reliant on an unreliable, inconsistent system. If they can make it reliably consistent then sure, but I highly doubt it.
-
@Milo said:
@SlinkyJinky Using (basically) the most powerful add-ons. Oke
Your forgetting the most powerful counter. Hit them twice, hook them, patrol the area (not face camp) and scare off anyone who tries to de-hook. If they do rescue them the first two hits they received if you didn't lose them during the chase ONLY COUNT FOR ONE MOM PIP (I think it's a bug) I've tested this on Survivor and if I'm hit twice during a chase it only counts for one pip. Just down them again, wash, wrince and repeat. If rescued they've only got 2 pips so if you hit them again after that MoM is prepped then just hit them again and they're down but that's besides the point.
MOM HAS NO WAY TO COUNTER M2 Killers and M1 Killers who exploit the sneak attack bug and other M1 Killers who have mods / totems / core abilities that bypass the system. So once the nerf drops it's just going to make MoM so situationally unusable that no one would ever in their right mind take it. Job done killers right? lawl.
-
@ClogWenchThe new version will be incredibly unreliable because the entire system hinges on recognizing weather you are taking a defensive hit for an ally or not. You have NO CONTROL over this as it's detection system is inconsistent at best.
-
But yeah I know I'm fighting a losing cause here. Guess I'll just have to go back to /face rolling on easy-mode, hand-held, boring ass Killers. oh well.
-
@BBQnDemogorgon said:
@SlinkyJinky Uh no. It doesnt work that way. There is no skillful way to prevent MoM as an M1 killer.
You're straight up telling people to face camp both hook states to avoid hitting them 3 times.
That's not being good you're likely to lose if you do that because you're just staring at a hook for minutes to not have to hit them more.
And as for the second part good. MoM should be super hard and rare to pull off its a free health state.
M1 Killers that can counter MoM:
Myres: Evil Within III
Pig: Sneak attach doesn't trigger MoM pip progression
Trapper: with [ Honing Stone ] for insta down traps
Spirit with: [ Prayer Beads Bracelet ] for gen grabs (and / or surprise attack exploit that bypasses the MoM pip progression system)
Wraith with: [ Coxcombed Clapper ] + [ "The Ghost" - Soot ] for stealth gen grab (and / or surprise attack exploit that bypasses the MoM pip progression system)
There's probably more I've missed but that's besides the point here. All these Killers can remove 2 points of health instantly in their own round about ways bypassing the MoM pip progression system entirely. And that's not including M2 Killers who can do it easily.
There are so many counters to MoM it's just hilarious when MoM has no way to counter any of them.
Any other M1 Killer can 'counter' MoM with Hex: Haunted Ground or Noed. Or they could just sack up and continue the chase and hit them again, BAM! no more MoM unless they want to mend and give themselves a permanent aura reading debuff till they're inevitably hooked.
All Killers, every single one of them has no down side to their myriad of tools that counter MoM, and all of them bar the hex totem ones can do it all match long.
I tell you the denial, mis-direction, obfuscation and out right lies are real.
I guess those 'squeaky wheels' who /cry the loudest really do get the grease.
-
@BBQnDemogorgon said:
You can't counter MoM and insta heals they happen regardless of skill.
You can counter exposed and insta downs by being good and looping/dodge.
Killers can't prevent you from pressing a button with their skill. M1 killers can't not hit you with M1 3 times to not let MoM happen.
"You can counter exposed and insta downs by being good etc etc"
"You can counter MoM by being good at hitting them twice and not letting them get rescued"
That broken logic works both ways you see^
Things MoM currently cannot counter (and still won't be able to counter post nerf):
- MoM can't counter M2 Killers
- MoM can't counter M1 Killers with insta down core abilities
- MoM can't counter M1 Killers with insta down Perks / Hexes
- MoM can't counter M1 KIllers with insta down weapon mods
- MoM can't counter M1 Killers who exploit the surprise attack bug
Once the MoM nerf goes live all of this will still be true, only MoM pip progression will be so situationally rare that it won't be worth taking, so people won't.
Just like they don't take DS, only it's worse because at least DS counters tunneling where as MoM won't counter anything any more because it relies on janky coding to detect weather you took a defensive hit for an ally or not.
-
Yeah there are a LOT of Killer abilities that take away not one but both of the Survivors health bars instantly without having to do anything to earn it and they can do it ALL MATCH LONG!
Unlike MoM who has to get hit three times, escaping in between hits to mend each time before they get 1 extra hit point. After which they get a huge negative aura reading affect lasting until they get hooked if they mend again.
So I'm seeing some double standards here.
You know what the difference is? Killers get to do what MoM does in reverse only taking twice as many hit points while doing it without limit or consequence all throughout the match.
-
Bump for the bump god.
Make MoM pip progression from any and all damage received within the radius of other players or this nerf is not fair, consistent or balanced as without this MoM has no way to counter M2 Killers and other 1 shot M1 and M2 Killers.
-
@Zarathos said:
Protection is kinda messed up atm since you have to be on top of an ally which is awkward. So you can gain the protection score event a little easier to achieve.
Fix this and MoM will encourage more riskier play. By trading hits to alleviate pressure off of injured survivours. As the reward of tanking a future hit will be well desired.
The current existing perk is basically a free health state since unless the killer tunnel or camps it will proc unless 1 or two killer can hit you multiple times with there power. Which as many have said only nerfs the wealer killers.
MoM reminds me too much of ds where the perk encourages killers to play in a optomised/ scummy manner to prevent it or mitigate its impact.
Tunneling and camping to prevent it from procing if your playing 60 to 70% of current existing killers.
But go on I want other survivours in favour of current MoM to explain to me how an additional health state is balanced. Because if the logic operates in anyway like old ds your fundamentally wrong. That why it was changed.
@Zarathos Upvote for you <3
That's what I'm worried about. MoM's entire mechanics being built around an incredibly unreliable hit identification tool takes all the power out of your hands and puts it into the devs which I am incredibly anxious about.
-
- Make all damage done towards Survivors taking hits for their allies (any hit received in close proximity to another Survivor) count towards MoM pip progression. I'm talking all M1 attacks, Traps All M2 attacks, every form of damage perceivable give at least one pip.
- Attacks that do more than 1 health bar of damage will give the same amount in MoM pips.
Do that and MoM will be balanced fairly.
-
-
So when's this Killer's cheese getting nerfed again or am I going to keep having to show Nurse Killers absolute zero respect by homing in on them the instant the match starts deliberately getting myself hooked denying them any significant xp pharm because /easy-mode hand-held babied crutchlords don't deserve handouts?

Nurse. I don't like going against fundamentally broken and overpowered killers.
Was up against a toxic nurse today with ebony mori. Did my best, evaded her the entire match rescued people 4 times from hooks completed 2 gens, when the last person was Mori'd I just sprinted right up to her and tea-bagged the crap out of that cheese ball totally wrecking her mori experience. I then suicided on the hook because she hadn't been able to hook me prior.
I win because I chose to die wrecking the nurses fun in the process XD
