Once again behaviours pacific population are left without any option but to suffer terrible latency at servers half way across the world. Nothing new there.
Thank the entity that ping isn't as absolutely crucial in dbd as it is in their other less successful titles *cough*eternalcrusade*cough*
-
So no word on allowing MoM to counter M2 attacks (and other 1 shot killers) once the nerf goes live making the perk hyper situational only being relevant in extremely rare situations every couple of hundred matches because presently it has no counter to this type of Killer?'
Oh wait that's right, what's ok for one is not ok for all. Forgot about the culture of hypocritical double standards we have going on here.
-
I love Freddy, well the idea of him but for the life of me I cannot sit through the first 10 minutes of the first original movie without boring myself to sleep (just past the bit where he puts his face up against the wall / sheet and kills the random in bed next to the I assume boyfriend. Does it get any better?
-
@NoShinyPonyI actually think the dbd population is closer to 50/50 each side because of the fact it takes longer to get a Killer match who has 3 less slots than a Survivors lobby wait expecience which by comparison is relatively shorter.
So there's always 3 Killers next to you playing Survivor who couldn't be arsed waiting in the Killer queue
-
There are 4 Survivors to 1 Killer each match
So it stands to reason that only 1 quarter of the game can play Killer at any one time and 1 quarts of the game can only play Survivor.
This is why the Killer queue is so long compared to the almost instantaneous Survivor queue.
-
If its the Doctor I'll just go run right up to him, grab his attention and loop till I'm caught then immediately /suicide on the hook because screw that I'm not wasting my time on that cheasymode bollocks.
-
But Bloody Party Streamers gives a 100% xp boost for EVERYONE in match no matter which side provides it.
-
Are you kidding? Doctor has huge map presence and a free built in BBQC that doesn't require to actually locate, chase down or hook the Survivor. Because of this he's legion levels of boringly un-counterable, right up there with the next in line for nerfs: Billy and Nurse.
-
M2 Killers take away 2 health bars in one shot either modded or un-modded (and some M1 Killers - Myres / Modded Trapper M2 traps) and they can do it ALL MATCH LONG without any down sides.
These Killers totally bypass MoM's pip progression system disallowing Survivors any method of countering them with MoM
By comparison MoM allows 1 extra hit point once per match if a set of increasingly situational and rare circumstances are met, some of which as mentioned above CANNOT BE COUNTERED - (M2 one shot Killers and their M1 counter parts not to mention the surprise attack M1 exploit that also bypasses MoM's pip progression)
They need to make all one shot killers accountable for this by making hits that take away 2 health bars when used as a defensive block post nerf count for 2 MoM pips. All damage needs to be made accountable towards pip progression or it's double standards in regards to Survivors with MoM not having any tools to be able to counter M2 & M1 one shot damage.
But Killer fan-boi's won't want this because they don't want the game to be fairly and consistently balanced, even if the perk is so situational that it almost never gets a chance to be relevant they'll still scream OP @ whatever perk it is till it's nerfed into extinction gathering dust on the shelf because that's what they do.
So hooray for the myth that is dbd's non biased fair and consistent balance!
*now wait for the inevitable, boringly predictable, non constructive * - "hur hurr git gud nub*
Oh well it's back to boring Killer face roll for me I guess.
Or Survivor with better more powerful perks that are far more powerful than MoM that go un-noticed as they're more utility and far less in your face that go under the radar which end up being far more OP.
-
@28_stab_wounds said:
Yeah i am not reading all that
To hell with MoM, i am not dealing with more double chance garbage
MoM gives 1 extra hit point per match
M2 damage takes away all hit points in 1 hit all match long
They are the same at opposite ends of the spectrum except M2 damage can be done an infinite amount of times with no down side and MoM can only be done safely once per match which will become even more situational once defensive activation is implemented.
The double standards are real.
The Killer denial is real
The Killer favoritism is even more real.
Lame cubed to the power of derp.
-
Yes, M2 Killers shouldn't be allowed to bypass MoM's pip progression system entirely making it so Survivors have no way to use the perk to counter them.
Any M2 damage (or any damage at all, including surprise attacks which are currently exempt from the MoM pip progression system) needs to be included.

I run DS and unbreakable no matter what.
@TreemanXD If you run Unbreakable how about Flipflop? both are equally, situationally reliant on the Killer neglecting you on the ground. Add DS into the mix and you potentially have 2 escapes lined up while being carried to the hook. Add Boil Over and it makes it even more likely.
I'm going to try this lol.
-
Yeah it's a bit rough when you go out into the game without the devs holding your hand for the first time and you realize you actually have to work for your hooks. But if you can get past that it's actually quite rewarding knowing that you didn't just faceroll your way to victory.
-
One sided Killer hand-holding for teh win.
Mom cannot counter 2H Killers but of cause there's no solution for that in their nerf.
MoM will just become another shelved super situational perk nobody uses because Killers /cried that they actually have to work for their hooks by *gasp* chasing down their Survivor and hitting them one more time once per match! Oh noes!
Nothing new there. Just more Killer hand-holding.
-
Match making fail is the norm.
-
Killers complain that "MoM has no counter" yet there are M2 Killers and some M1 Killers with and without mods . . . And for the rest there's ways of denying it getting to the 3rd pip. So it has counters.
Once the MoM nerf drops, Survivors who use MoM will have ABSOLUTELY NO WAY TO COUNTER THIS. (that my friends, is called double standards and / or one sided hypocritical balance) 😀
Add to that how remotely situational the perk will become I doubt it'll be in anyone's perk loadout,
Fix this clear discrepancy in fair and consistent balance before the patch goes live by making all defensive attacks received count towards the MoM pip system
And equally as important for fair and consistent balance, for M2 / instant down attacks make them count twice towards MoM's pip progression as they take two health bars away at once.
-
@SunderMun . . . 😶there's a LEGAL aim bot in dbd? mother of god . . . why is this a thing.
-
*ehm*
Survivor DC's, that's one less Survivor.
Killer DC's, entire match ends.
And omg the toxic perks. Franklins, Noed, Ruin and BBQC. lol. just lol.

Ash has some stats for you TC, stop relying on perks to cover your mistakes.
Love it lol
Aaanyways. M2 Killers render MoM completely useless as it is. Once the nerf lands there'll be no reason to take it as it will become even more situational so I'll be going back to Alert / Spine Chill / Urban Evasion / Quick 'n Quiet for ultra stealth immersion build. Well done Killers, you brought this on yourselves lol
-
Killers complain that they have no way to counter MoM
Once this nerf lands Survivors will have no way to counter M2 Killers when they equip MoM.
How is this going to be addressed? Because I'd hate for there to be a culture of one sided non consistent balance.
So for fair and consistent treatment within the construct of balance I propose that MoM pips build with any and all damage interactions between the Killer and Survivor.
The fact that we're even having this discussion is beyond me. I mean what do M2 Killers do? they down you in ONE SHOT by removing both health bars at once and they can do it ALL MATCH LONG. (Some M1 KIllers can even mod themselves to do this as well)
MoM allowed you to do the reverse of this safely once per match. But rather than adding 2 health bars like Killers where allowed to do it gives just one extra hit (because fair and consistent balance?)
And it allowed Survivors to do this just once per match, and you had to earn it by escaping and mending 3 times.
Yet Killers can again remove 2 health bars bars at once all match long and Surivovrs are not allowed get one extra hit do this even once? come on people. Fair and consistent balance for all or none at all.
-
Legion's entire class ruined countless peoples dbd experience for -half a year- till their long overdue nerf landed.
Ash is out a little over a month before the hordes of Killer fanboi's /cry their corrosive radioactive, acid infused tears of necrotic rage cancer enduing misery to get Ash's one good perk nerfed into hyper situational dusty shelf extinction.
Yeah.
-
Bought Ash because
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Awrem5pfhBkHe's just a badass legend
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuyWNr5oc2wAnd totally hilarious in the face of the grimiest, darkest, insurmountable odds.
-
@fluffybunny SWF have audio coms via un-policable external programs unnaturally enhancing their performance with tools not intended to be in the game.
To combat this give solo survivors not using SWF [ Bond ] as a baseline buff
-
MoM becoming less reliable and more inconsistent and exponentially more situational than Head so as to only trigger once every thousand or so matches if your lucky and the coding actually works noticing your taking a hit for a team mate 3 times before it even becomes an option On is clearly the way to go.
wd.

🤣🤣
Now memes aside, to the contrary i think the change is fair and makes sense. It was too powerful and easy to activate, with that change the perk will have a purpose (tanking hits) instead of just rewarding mistakes.
I 👏👏👏👏 the devs for the idea and hope it comes soon to the game specially for the m1 killers.
That was Dead Hard's job to proactively tank a hit for a team mate once every 60 seconds. With MoM your relying on janky, unreliable and inconsistent coding to actually work and recognize you've joined the fray to tank a hit before it automatically turns on and gives you a pip towards one hit for the entire match. (You have to do this THREE TIMES)
Oh no make no mistake, this will make MoM totally obsolete as it will work less than Head On does (and that's saying something) At last with Dead Hard you have control over using it, no this is the killing blow for MoM. One of the few perks worth taking consigned to the shelf to gather dust.
On the plus side it will make Survivors harder to deal with because we'll just go back to using 'ok' perks that make Killers lives even more of a pain to deal with. I'm going full immersion blendette with Alert, Spine Chill, Urban Evasion and what ever else because all other perks are just meh right now.
-
Oh well when the nerf rolls out I'll just go back to rocking Blendette with Alert + Spine Chill and go ultra immersed toxic stealth mode so all good.
-
All I can say is [ Borrowed Time ] better bloody trigger MoM pip progression post nerf otherwise what's the point of taking it if your supposed to put yourself in front of the Killer to protect your allies while rescuing.
And before this nerf goes live fix Killers being able to abuse Sneak Attacks to bypass triggering MoM pip progression. In fact make it so EVERY type of M1 hit triggers it or the perk just becomes so situational it's not worth taking.
As a 'nice to have' if you've progressed MoM to rank 3 the next M2 (or one shot M1 hit) that would have downed you gets absorbed.

Changes in meta are necessary and they are inevitable. Dead by Daylight is a LIVE game and what does LIVE game means? It lives, changes and evolves.
We adjust balance primarily for the health of the game and to match our design intentions. There is no injustice or organized attacks on a side or the other, we care about the PLAYERS as a whole.
The changes we make might have a direct impact on your playstyle and might require you to change the way you play the game; adaptation is the key here. Find new ways to face the issues, find a new perk that could help you out, see it as a challenge. If you don't want to do that... well that's on you, ultimately, changes will happen that's the reality of a live game.
This doesn't explain Billy or Nurse sitting on top of the game like a pair of giant fat toads of depression crushing the life and soul of the game beneath their enormous bulk, eating away at the game from within with their hilariously imbalanced mechanics, not at all good for the health, well being and future of anything.
-
[ Coxcombed Clapper ] for totally silent Wailing Bell + [ "The Ghost" - Soot ] 0 terror radius or red stain for 6 seconds after de-cloaking
Start de-cloaking around the corner of a gen. Swoop around with surprise attack speed boost for a gen grab.
Everyone expects Spirit Prayer Bead Stealth Gen grab. Nobody expects a Wraith to do it.
-
@xChrisx Your wasting your breath man, these forums are nothing but a Killer fanboi echo chamber in which there is absolutely no interest in helping balance the game for the health, well being and future of their own game, only buffing their own selfish interests as if they where playing a single player game.
-
Wraith + [ "Shadow Dance" - Blood ] + [ "Shadow Dance" - White ] = While stealth it's probably less than quarter of a second to destroy pallets and you can vault as fast if not faster than Survivors.

@Peanits said:
It's a couple different reasons.
- The wording confused people. Many people think of "75% increased recovery" as "stuns only last 25% of the normal time". This is not the case. Instead of being stun time * (1 - 0.75), it's actually stun time / 1.75. Your stun is only reduced by about 43% when you increase the recovery speed by 75%. With stuns just being half as long, it's much simpler. 2 seconds becomes 1 seconds, bing bang boom, everyone understands.
- The pallet stun durations are actually going to be about 0.15 seconds shorter.
- This way we can re-evaluate stun perks and better balance their stun times. Currently we need to make sure that anything affected by enduring lasts long enough that it doesn't render enduring completely useless. Take a look at DS, for example. It was a 4 seconds stun, where the survivor was locked into the animation for one second. This leaves you with only ~1.28 seconds to run if the killer is using DS. As a result, the stun time was raised to 5 seconds, giving you ~1.85 seconds to run. With that in mind, we could potentially lower it back down to 4 seconds (or even 3 seconds) after this change, making it more consistent whether or not you're using enduring.
It basically allows us better control over balancing stun perks so you're not forced to run enduring just to counter them.
- "The pallet stun durations are actually going to be about 0.15 seconds shorter."
Right. So it's not actually a nerf it's a buff. Glad we sorted that myth out. God forbid one of the most powerful killers abilities in game be nerfed oh no, the forums would burn with tears of napalm we can't have that.
-
Perks that stun currently:
- DS
Head On
@Madjura There, fixed that for you (Head On never actually works)

no?
i thought so.
Yes, I just chase them down and hit them again because pointing and clicking a mouse is not hard.
-
Well yeah, we cant have Survivors having powerful perks that are actually worth taking oh no no NO that 'privilege' is reserved for Killers.
Another Survivor perk for the shelf. I swear Killers won't be happy till Survivors spawn already on the hook with a 0.0001% chance to de-hook themselves in a 1 Survivor vs 20 Killer match and 0 perks while Killers spawn with all perks maxed out.
-
@GrootDude said:
The toxic people will dismiss your opinion since they refuse to believe you’re a killer main. I think the goal of new MoM is to take hit(s) while the killer is carrying someone.
So basically so situational it's not worth taking, another Survivor perk for the shelf because Killers want their easy-mode, hand-held, babied crutch fest. Nothing new there.
-
People who say MoM is not skill based: Escape + Mend = requires skill.
People who say MoM is not counterable: M2 Killers / M1 twice, hook them and don't let them get rescued.
ffs people get over it just because MoM is a useful perk doesn't mean it needs to be nerfed into extinction, if that's the case then BBQC, Noed, Discordance, Nurses Calling, Monitor and Abuse, Make Your Choice and any perk that's even remotely useful needs to be nerfed.
-
I'd like to see Boil Over increase the wiggle free bar. Currently just making it more of a chore for the Killer to work against with the normal wiggle free timer doesn't make it a worth while perk to take as its never enough to actually stop you getting hooked, which is it's entire purpose. It needs to be more like Flip Flop.
-
@Chaotic_RiddleAll generalizations are 100% accurate at all times
(I like putting myself in harms way to rescue others)
-
It's a lot of fuss over 1 extra hit when how many Killer abilities are out there that take away 1 extra hit? Most of which are far more than the 1 off deal that MoM is before it becomes unsafe to use Come on people, double standards much? lol. Imagine if Billy's chainsaw could only one shot 1 Survivor per match, any more and permanent aura reading is given to the opposition. That's MoM!
-
@ShrekIsHot Hey hard truths hurt, that's why they're hard truths. No one with power ever released it willingly, it's what people in power do, they hold on against desperately overwhelming evidence that their corrosive hold on the world is tearing it apart at the seams and I get it, nobody wants to give it up once they've got it easy, it's just human nature.
-
Nurse, for when you just can't be bothered trying - 4kDC for t3h win
-
Whats to stop a Wraith blocking you in a corner indefinitely?
-
I dunno I find playing Legion more rewarding because it doesn't feel like my kills are being handed to me. I like to feel like I've earned each chase, each down, each hook and each sacrifice.

Dudes like him is why I'm a Nurse/Billy main.
Hey every multiplayer game needs an easy-mode right? nobody blames you for that.
Oh wait, no. Easy-mode hand-holding only works in single player games, in multiplayer games it's just boringly predictable and corrosive to the health, well being and future of the game.
I keep getting those two mixed up ya know?

@TheluckyboiWhen I'm providing the undeniable answer and the person refuses to believe it I just find it sadly amusing.

Don't hinge your entire 'skill' set on OP crtuch perks and you shouldn't have to worry about totem positioning.
And there's a way to counter "Hex Rushing" - I think I just coined a new term, lol
It's called [ Hex: Thrill of the Hunt ] and [ Hex: Haunted Ground ]
And now we know! 😀
