  • Bring on the empty lobby simulator!

95% of Survivors perma banned from dbd = 100% of Killers without matches =D

DC's say more about the terrible state of balance than anything.

You know you have the whole match to find and kill 5 totems right? No totems up means no NOED. I know its a hard concept not to gen rush and take time to find the totems... But choices have to be made some times.

Well we were comparing like for like at the time so there's that. And technically by that reasoning you'd also have the whole match to counter MoM, DS and DH

  • @AsheruSwiftwind @Tensor Show me 1 person who can find and destroy all dull totems on the map in the 10 seconds it takes to catch a Survivor after triggering MoM / DS or a DH dodge and I'll show you a liar.

  • Lithe + Quick'n Quiet + Dance With Me all day every day

  • Just de-rank and /roll with tbe brown ranks.

  • @MrDardon I'll never get this image out of my head now:

    image.png

  • I'm thoroughly convinced that no one on here complaining about MoM has actually bought it or used it so they don't actually know how best to counter it.

Bring on the MoM Shrine of Secrets already. Education for the masses!

  • I don't know how I feel about this. There are pros and cons to both sides for EGC starting after hatch close.

  • A Legion was tunneling me today, (clearly enraged at his slew of nerfs) he then DC'd the entire match after I used DS on him. The very fact DS was even triggered being entirely his fault.

  • @NoShinyPony

You know there are perks out there that truly have no counter to them like Alert and Franklins Demise.

Yet firstly with Alert, because their use goes totally unnoticed by Killers they don't even know it's been used against them which is why you never see threads complaining about it even though the only way a Killer might try to counter it is by not kicking Gens and not breaking Pallets. (hence the 'Alert has no counter' statement earlier)

And with Franklins the only 'counter' to it is to either not get hit, don't bring an item, don't pick up an item so not reeealy a counter at all. This is a perk just as 'in your face' as MoM with no actual counter yet nobody complains about it. hmmm.

Where as MoM is an in your face bright neon sign saying to the Killer "You think you earned that down? You thought you where entitled to it? NAHP!" which hurts the Killers delicate ego.

They then come on here and rage about it when there are any number of counters they could chose from but failed to deny the Survivor before they escaped 3 times to mend, each time they escaped earning their next pip towards 1 extra hit point which can easily be chased down and hit again for the hook (I managed that one against a Survivor with MoM once today, I rarely see a Survivor with it because I don't let Survivors collect MoM pips).

  • @wydyadoit Porcelain dolls have always creeped me out. Something to do with the 'uncanny valley' - human instinct to distrust things that are almost human in appearance, a little too close for comfort but not quite the real thing.

And yes anything creepy is good lol

  • @se05239 I have the opposite problem to you it would seem. Survivor just depresses me these days, used to be 70% Survivor 30% Killer, now more like 80% KIller, 20% Survivor due to stress.

  • @FSB75 Hilarious, I made a gif out of that I liked it so much lol

Dead hard: Just bait the survivor

    Borrowed time: Dont tunnel

    Ds: Dont tunnel x2

MoM: Use your m2 attack, and if you are a M1 killer just make the survivor use MoM

Did you know killer have perk that reward their bad play?

    Blood Warden, Spirit Fury, NOED..

    @Arroz

MoM: and if you are a M1 Killer, hit them twice to down them for the hook and don't let them be rescued = MoM denied.

  • Play Survivor for a day and you'll be crying in a corner talking to your traps telling them 'it's ok, the easy-mode can't hurt you any more'.

  • Dunno about you but I play both, the best way to defeat your enemy is to become them.

  • Billy is 'insta down' by default. Cheasy-mode, hand held crutch Killer who deserves, earns and gets no respect.

  • Hook distance increasing offerings are totally useless in this game. makes zero difference at all.

  • I'm sorry ll I'm seeing is a face camping, tunneling cheasy-mode billy.

MoM is fine. Most games a survivor will have to purposefully take hits just for MoM to activate before the trial is over. Maybe killer's at low ranks are having problems, but at high ranks it is easy to counter with all the options for instadowns. And even if the survivor gets to use MoM, they now are stuck being injured unless they want to risk having their aura shown and having to loop.

^This is literally the answer to every MoM complaint.

Hit them twice without letting them escape to mend and their down for the hook. Don't let them get rescued and you've just denied MoM

If a Killer can't do that then their probably brown ranks.

  • @drunky26 Killer gets punished for losing the survivor 3 times. Hitting the survivor just builds pips towards the reward for escaping to mend. Just hit them twice, don't let them escape, hook them and don't let them get rescued.

  • All generalizations are 100% correct all of the time without question.

  • Is Head On going to be fixed so it's consistently reliable with a clear indication of when to activate it so it's not just a guessing game with reliably unreliable results?

  • Yet I've had many matches where "Killer's DC because X"

They need to do something about the doors sometimes they are very close each other

  • @Tru3Lemon Head On should work on a consistently reliable basis, let's start from that and work our way up. lol

    How to initiate chase.

Run around the map until the killer sees you.

Get hit enough times. MOM activates. You deserved it.

If you do this you get downed in the first 2 hits, hooked, face camped and sacraficed.

You need to get hit then once you've escaped you've earned your first pip. Do that 3x and you get 1 extra hit point.

  • gg instead of qq causes physical pain and suffering to trolls. The most delicious type of pain.

  • -shudder- Porcelain.

Would totally buy this chapter. so creepy. lol

  • @TreemanXD Add on's make for good training wheels and I mean it's fun to a point but after a while it just starts to feel a little cheap so I'm going add on naked for a while.

That’s a lie do what I do and just hit the great skillchecks it’s not hard lol may take some practice

    There's always one.

Hooray for the need of introspective projection of self validation! 😀

  • It is the best way to deal with Ruin other than looking for and hoping you find the hex totem unguarded.

Just: [ hold down your Left Mouse Botton for half a second and release it ]
Solo: [ Mantener presionado por medio segundo y luego soltar ]
    image.png

usually gives about 15 to 20 BP per 'tap'.

What this does is it allows you to repair the generator without triggering Ruin skill checks. Though it takes MUCH longer, it is far safer than relying on the Killers ultra laggy lobby for skill checks.

  • @BlueberryYeah, gate spawning needs to be fairly balanced for both sides, the 'Goldylocks' effect, not too far, not too close, spaced just the right distance.

  • @Theluckyboi Still a one sided, wide sweepong set of Survivor only nerfs, yet according to you "You survivor mains got no nerfs this patch" - hmmm

    hmm 2.png

  • @Theluckyboi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/471214#Comment_471214

@SlinkyJinky The only nerfs survivors received is they can no longer teabag the killer at the gates

Hatch standoffs have ended, and that is huge buffs to both sides, not only for the killers

    @Theluckyboi

Hatch can now be closed denying Survivor a chance to escape - nerf

Once the hatch is closed the Survivor must open one of the gates which is most likely spaced a ridiculously close distance apart - nerf.

Case in point, hatch closed, gates distanced a good 4 seconds stride apart:

    Close Exit Gates.gif

In fact everything about EGC is a Survivor nerf.

  • PResenting.png

And in other news, @Irisora Yeah, just saying it needs to be a little less easy so as to not guarantee a win for the Killer in the instance the gates are spawned close together, that close is just a little too close to feel fair.

What do you mean? @Theluckyboi EGC is clearly a huge nerf the Survivor archetype while at the same time being a huge buff to all Killers.

  • omg the amount of face I'm wrecking on Wraith is just criminal. I mean I'm not even remotely a great Killer but Wraith just feels so natural I barely even have to think. Sadly it also feels like I don't really have to work for my hooks unlike with other Killers.

Does anybody else have this experience with Wraith? I never see "OMG Wraith OP" threads about is all which is weird because the way things are for me I'd expect it to be gor most Killers. Maybe it's just I've found a niche way of playing Wraith few have thought of playing in?

  • I would de-rank into the brown ranks (16-20) before you even attempt a hard mode Killer like Nurse so you can practice against Survivors who don't know her many and varied counters.

  • @HavelmomDaS1 M1 Killer hits you twice, downs you on the second hit, picks you up, takes you to the hook and makes sure no one gets to rescue you. Well done, you've just denied (or countered) MoM.

So no, MoM is not a 100% guarantee, you have to earn it by escaping the killer after they hit you then mending afterwards 3 times before it's even primed to activate and give you 1 extra hit point.

So yes it most certainly is not debatable because I've just proven it to be fact that it does not activate 100% of the time against every M1 Killer.

Besides which M1 Killers who have Surprise attacks can abuse a bug that doesn't trigger MoM's pip system.

  • Why would anyone care enough to slot Head On in the first place? let alone get any use out of it to warrant caring about it's cool down? This is a perk that is so useless that I've never actually seen anyone use it 'successfully' apart from in the devs demonstration video.

  • @Unnamed_Freak BBQC has 2, Hide behind a Gen / Hook's aura or hide in a locker

@Sairek Well yeah escaping and mending after the hit is the optimal use of MoM, it's how you truly earn the full potential of the perk. I mean sure you can get hit twice, get downed, hooked, rescued then get hit a 3rd time, downed and hooked again (at which time the Killer had two chances to ensure you stayed hooked) and then rescued again so that the next time your hit during the inevitable tunnel it activates but your not really getting much out of it. I much prefer the escape & mend x3 method which requires by far the most skill rather than just derping your way to a hook repeatedly. But you surely knew all that.

Again what it all really boils down to is, hit them twice, don't let them escape to mend, hook them, don't let them get rescued and you've denied (or countered) MoM's 3rd pre activation pip.

  • EGC is Killers needed their hand held after Legion nerf

  • @cetruzzo Shrine of secrets

The only things ever behind a pay which people may consider to be pay to win wall are things that can't be earned in the Shrine of Secrets such as:

    • Myres 1 shot down
    • Bubba's 1 shot down
    • Freddies Pay 2 Lose Dream Demon
    • Pig Stealth / Reverse Bear Trap

  • MoM is no more "broken" or "unfair" than BBQC is. It can be countered in a very similar way.

People who say "MoM has no counter" are blatantly ignoring the undeniable fact that it can very simply be countered by downing them without letting them escape to heal. AND THAT'S IT!

The only real problem with MoM is Killers who cant do that ^ I mean come on people, hit them and don't let them escape to heal. It's how MoM works, they get hit, they escape (and in doing so EARN one MoM pip) they heal and repeat the process twice more to activate it so that the next time they're hit they have 1 more hit to down (which is also countered by just continuing the chase and hitting them again)

Anything after that is just general Killer house keeping.

First stage in the denial (or counter) of MoM:

    • Down them by hitting them twice (or once if your a M2 Killer) without letting them escape to heal

Second stage in the denial (or counter) of MoM: General Killer House Keeping:

    • Hook them and don't let them get rescued
    • Don't let body blockers deny your hook
    • If you cant make it to the hook, drop them and make it un-safe for any rescue attempts by patrolling the area
    • Once sacrificed you've fully denied the 3 escapes to mend survivors are required to earn before getting their reward of 1 EXTRA HIT

Once they activate MoM and get their extra hit which again they EARNED by escaping your grasp to heal three times that's it! they can't mend again or their totally screwed by the 100% permanent aura reading debuff that makes them visible to the Killer till the Killer decides to go put them on a hook.

At that point the process resets and again all you have to do if they're rescued from the hook is don't let them escape and mend so they don't earn the first of 3 pips.

If the Survivor is god level proactive stealth skills they can use MoM a lot more than the 2 possible times it can be activated in a match. I've never been able to get it to work more than once in a match without dying so really in that respect DH is SO much more OP than MoM ever was.

  • @ClogWench said:

MoMs weakness is that it requires you to take a hit and escape to heal, or effectively lose 1-2 hookstates before you can get it. And while 1 free hit might seem like a big deal to a lot of players, it's really not. MoMs biggest strength comes in its ability to stop camping, especially in conjunction with borrowed time. Hit-unhook-hit usually trades one survivor for the other but MoM timed right emulates the old, obscenely broken Borrowed Time. Only because it's 2 perks and needs setup first, it's balanced.

Killers don't actually see the time they save when survivors are forced to heal more often to get the perk, so it's really easy to think it's a free hit with no downside

@ClogWench For everyone who says "MoM has no counter" (seriously that line right there is starting to feel like a bad meme at this stage) this line right here is the answer to that every time:

"MoM's Weakness is that it requires you to take a hit and escape to heal"

I'll say it again. To counter MoM DON'T LET THEM ESCAPE TO HEAL. Denying them pip progression is how you counter MoM.

It's the same way Survivors counter [ Play With Your Food ]

    • Don't let them hit you the first time and you deny them their first speed increase pip to 3%
    • Don't let them hit you the second time and you deny them their first speed increase pip to 4%
    • Don't let them hit you the third time and you deny them their first speed increase pip at 5%

How to counter [ Mettle Of Man ]

    • Don't let them escape and heal after you hit them the first time
    • Don't let them escape and heal after you've hit them the second time

The rest is just general Killer house-keeping:

    • Once downed don't let Survivors body block denying your hook (and hook them)
    • - If too far away from the hook to make it drop them and patrol the area making it un-safe to attempt any mend rescue attempts
    • Once hooked don't let Survivors rescue their hooked ally denying any further MoM pip progression (once sacrificed you have fully denied MoM entirely)

There are several nuances for MoM's counter, some of which I may have missed? (such as the very situational partial counter of Franklin's Demise if their carrying a med kit and not self care they're boned unless they can find another Survivor or med kit in game) but the first two above points are really the main thing to focus on, the rest is again just general Killer house keeping.

  • Perks I'd use before MoM:

    • Spine Chill or Premonition
    • Alert or at a pinch instead, Dark Sense
    • Urban Evasion
    • Dance With Me + Quick 'n Quiet + Lithe (swapping out the last one for Balanced Landing maybe)
    • DH + Borrowed Time + Adrenalin (at that point do you really need another hit mod? best spent on aura reading at that stage)

And then once you've activated MoM, Self Care + Botany Knowledge becomes completely useless, so that's 3 perk slots its eaten up for what? ONE EXTRA HIT! MoM really is a needy perk. Which is why I'd only take it if I had no other viable options.

  • @I cant quote your name for some reason ^

A bit like the trend of every Killer running BBQCheese / Ruin / Nurses Calling (and whatever the hell else they want for the 4th slot because at that point it doesn't matter as the three previous perks are just that powerful) on Billy / Nurse?

People use what works on both sides. For Survivor it's DH / MoM / Borrowed Time / DS (or swap out DS for Self Care)
