Wait, I forgot, this community does not like to "try" to learn, and want everything positive handed to them.

don't get me wrong, i'm a killer main, but I also use my brain.

You shouldn't only be using your chainsaw anyway, some times it can be very inefficient at chases at certain loops, and it's better to not feather every single loop. You may have forgotten, but you also have a sledgehammer, use it sometimes maybe?

(Do you want survivors to start the match on death hook too?)

And the Leatherface buff seems to be rather miniscule as well

I was the first to provide the feedback to the dev team on this matter because I knew it was going to be an issue.

    I'm still playing as him.

Hes not unusable or Legion tier at all. It just solidifies that Im not going to use the cage whatsoever and just save the torment for when I need the mori.

His range attack is still ass though. Its got great mind games, but the attack itself is lackluster.

I play both killer and survivor equally but lately, I've started playing Ghostface a lot. I became obsessed with playing him mostly because I got a real good hang of him real quick. Now I do really well every match because I understand how to use his power to full potential but I'm not a fan of his perks.

There are TONS of suggestions from people on YouTube with the "best bulids" for him but they are all different ideas. Usually i'd go with their advice but I also saw that they mained other killers so I didn't know whether to take their advice completely or not.

For players who MOSTLY main Ghostface, what are some different bulids to use for him to make him even more powerful?

I have found in my experience, that BBQ, Pop, Thrilling, and Corrupt usually work. NOED can substitute for any of these if you dont have them.

So I've been lurking these threads after these pyramid head nerfs and I keep seeing every survivor respond in the exact same way like a hivemind. I can get behind the nerf where the cage spawns elsewhere, I cannot get behind the nerf where PH cant see the aura of the cage. Can survivors begin to understand that one low rank pyramid head tunneling people does not mean that pyramid head is a killer that deserves to have their tools neutered because a possible application of their ability is tunneling/camping. An example of this is legion, Legion is not a tunneling killer because his design encourages going after groups and clumps of survivors, not individuals. I wish survivors could understand how much of a disadvantage it is to essentially not be able to see a hook, so caging people is actively giving up pressure now. If nothing else, I wish for pyramid head mains to gain compensation and buffs, Ill make a post later on a pyramid head rework/buff.

Back on the topic of survivors not contributing to conversations, survivors make no efforts to actually understand how hard these nerfs are, to survivors, these nerfs will make pyramid head hook more often. To killers, an interesting killer has been essentially lost a huge part of their pressure, and now has to play the game in a much more orthodox manner. This nerf will not end tunneling, this nerf will just make pyramid head tunnelers just throw you on hooks and then tunnel you.

Now heres WHY these nerfs are rough on pyramid head. This is not just a crippling to the option of tunneling through the nerf of the cage despawning. Removing the ability to tunnel is always rough for killers. The taking away of the cage aura is the worst part. Survivors can still see the cage aura, while the killer cant, essentially making it so the survivors have more information from the killers power than the killer. A survivor can effectively uncage someone and start stealthing and before pyramid head could at least have a good idea that now 2 survivors are coming from that cage, but now by uncaging then stealthing, 2 survivors have essentially become unknowns. This also makrd it hard for PH to properly capitalize on the potential advantage of stripping survivors of certain perks due to the Pyramid head being forced to ignore cages. Pyramid heads playstyle has become less freeform due to this, instead of choosing if to cage or not to cage, then if you should then go to the cage or patrol gens, PH will likely only cage as a last resort when surrounded by flashlights or to dodge an obvious DS. This makes his playstyle much less interesting and makes him play like an orthodox killer more often than not, which if you really think of it, Orthodox is not what you should expect from either silent hill or dead by daylight.

This all just infuriates me to no end. I remember joking about the 4th anniverary killer being pyramid head but threw the concept away because it was too far of a reach. I wanted pyramid head far more than any other killer in this game and I was excited when I saw how cool his power seemed. I find it incredibly annoying for survivors to just try to deflect the ridiculousness of the nerfs with saying things like “Just dont tunnel or play scummy” or things of that nature. Pyramid head did not need these nerfs, at all.

Welcome to Dead by Daylight, where amazing characters like Pyramid Head and Leatherface lose to an angry Japanese girl and a self concious floating woman.

    Go figure.

If that's your issue with it, wouldn't a more elegant solution be to disable DS when you touch a generator? Then you don't have to worry about moonwalking to cheese the mechanics about it, it just straight up disables the second you decide, "I'm not getting tunneled, I'm putting myself back in the game."

That still doesnt solve locker "tech", forcing a grab, or being fully healed and having DS active.

These are the main problems with the perk.

  • @ATerribleBilly said:

I think decisive shouldn't work at all if you're not the obsession. I mean, what's the point in it being an obsession perk if anyone can use it despite obsession status?

Well, what if a non obsession is being aggressively tunneled?

  • Yes I meant the perks tier. Not the survivors rank.

  • @Wubalubadubdub03 said:

Make it 60 seconds and pause during a chase, or paused when slugged. It would be too easy to slug and avoid ds if it is 30 seconds total.

I dont think it should deactivate when healed, but it should deactivate if you try to rescue someone off a hook.

Fully healed I mean. If you have time to fully heal, you arent being tunneled, or does the killer have any momentum to cancel.

So what nicknames do you have for maps and realms?

    For me:

-Azarov's Resting Place: (butchered pronunciation) Atzarov's Ratze-Platze or just "Knochenmap" (~Bone(shaped) map)

    -Treatment Theatre: Lèry's

    -HNL: Hawkins or The Lab

-Coldwind Farm: Corn map (doesn't matter which)

    -Temple of Purgation: Temple

    -Mother's Dwelling: Forest

    -Midwich Elementary School: The Square

    -Wretched Shop: Death Zone

    -Blood Lodge: Pallet Town

-Shelter Woods: +just puking+ (I hate this map)

    -Pale Rose: The Boat

I also tend to call the only maps in a realm by the realm's name like Haddonfield if it is shorter.

I have nicknames for Midwich, Backwater, Badham and Haddonfield.

Exactly. I just dont want to wait 20 minutes for a 3 minute game. Its just not worth my time. For either side.

  • @schadenfreudez28 said:

as a killer main, noed shouldn't be in the game. It's a stupid way to give bad killers more kills, resulting in them being boosted into higher ranks. "Do the bones" is a sad counter, especially with the inconsistent totem spawns. All 4 survivors shouldn't have to go around the map to find 5 dull totems just to protect themselves from noed. There are times where I play survivor, cleanse 4 totems and still get hit with noed because the other survivors can't cleanse one. Most of the time that I die from noed it's on my first hook during the endgame, and the killer puppy guards me so absolutely no one can get me. If they do try getting me, 99% of the time the killer will stay there with a slug and me on the hook. You don't need noed to get kills, stop using it as a fallback when you play terrible.

Its literally the only second chance perk we have. Survivors have a whole meta dedicated to free and easy escapes. And any competant survivor team will destroy your totems first.

Exactly, this has also kinda been my question when people mention Pennywise. I mean, I can think of some powers, but they are always quite underwhelming to put in the DBD meta.

I could understand Candyman's power, I could understand adding The Nun in with her power, I could understand even Chucky not even having a power because he is so tiny(I mean, ultimate stealth killer, right there, I actually would quite like having a tiny, powerless killer like Chucky added to the game. I really think he could fit in and be really fun to play as).

But Springtrap's power being turned into DBD, just feels disabling. The whole reason that Springtrap failed to kill the main player was because of the way he worked was being used against him. Imagine a killer that can run 200-400% movespeed towards any noise that is being generated, with the downside that he wont be able to run away from that sound untill he sees a survivor. That could really ######### a game over for someone as even though you're given immense power, you're not the one in control of that power. So the only way to truly give him some power, I would rather have him in his human/mascot form before he (accidentally) turned himself into an animatronic.

I'd also rather see Slenderman join the killer gang before I see Springtrap even being a viable killer.

Well technically, every killer in the game is like "oOo LoUd NoIsE" and then goes to investigate.

  • Most brutal: Huntress, Oni and Legion

Best overall: Ghostface, Demogorgon, Clown and Deathslinger

    Worst: Plague, Trapper, Wraith

  • @Salty_Pearl said:

I know this won't make deathslinger a better killer, it's just an idea I had.

The deathslinger's iridescent add-on hellshire iron, in my opinion, sucks. It reveals the auras of survivors in your terror radius when you're reeling in a survivor. This sucks because deathslinger has a naturally smaller 24 meter terror radius, which is not very much.

My idea is to completely rework this add-on, by making the add-on work like a silencer. Whenever you bring the add-on, the gun makes no sound when it's fired.

    Thoughts?

Most of Deathslingers addons suck. The only good ones are reload speed and reel speed. The rest are pretty much pointless.

    Yeah, no.

Did you know how many pressure that gave to the killer? it was basically impossible to escape, there was no chance.

And, hold on, that was completely optional. With 5 gens to do on the map?

My suggestion is 4 gens, and the map specific objective.

Its not an accomplishment to reach red ranks with MMR being as ######### as it is. I probably belong in rank 7-5 but alas, matchmaking handed me easy game after easy game before proceeding to match me against the same Seal Team 6 for three games in a row.

I am not a FNAF fan, most of my knowledge of it comes from watching a few game theory videos. But i noticed a lot of people are pushing for a FNAF Chapter, specifically for the killer called Springtrap who i had to look up. He looks more grotesque than any of the other robots which is cool but otherwise it doesn't look like he does anything special. So why him instead of the guy the game is named after? I personally think something about Freddys design is just really cool, the fact that most of his fans are kids even lends to his reputation because he's basically chucky e. cheese, but he's still a killer robot bear. Is there anything springtrap can do that Freddy couldn't or is Springtrap just the fan favorite? Either way the map alone begs to be DBD, they could even do something interesting with the live cameras

Side note, FNAF 100% deserves to be in Dbd, people have been saying "it's not scary it doesn't fit dbd" we have stranger things and a cowboy, shut up. The fact that it's the most relevant modern horror IP speaks enough to it's legacy to join Bill from left for dead and the remake Freddy imo. If it wasn't beloved by children i don't think anyone would have a problem with it but the fanbase doesn't change the prospect of it. If it was an original chapter people would be all over it

No more FNAF begging for the love of god. The devs have seen the slew of posts about it already. I was already for it, and now with people posting left and right about it, I think Im changing my mind.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1396374#Comment_1396374

I'm surprised so many people have Ghostface above Myers. I always felt he couldn't snowball, didn't have as good of a lunge and was too over reliant on add-ons. Maybe I should play them both add-onless when I'm done with PH.

Ghostface has on demand stealth thats difficult to be broken out of. No movement speed penalty while stealthed unless you crouch. Its easier to stalk someone to exposed, or just get an easy first hit. Myers is still a good killer, but Ghostface is stronger in the early game, which allows him to take control of the game faster than Myers can.

  • @CashelP14 said:

First things first. This is my opinion as someone who is Devotion 9 now. Been playing since 2017 and I've been red rank on both sides for pretty much the whole time.

I'm ranking these off a few things.

    1. The killer is using their best perks.
    2. The killer is using grey/no add-ons. This doesn't include extremely strong greys like huntress's exhaustion add-on.
    3. The survivor team is good. Not OP swf levels of good but they aren't babies.
    4. The killer is decent. Some of these killers need at least some skill in order to beat a good team.

The reason for these rules is just so you understand my mindset. Against babies (hello boosted red ranks) all these killers are S rank. I don't want really strong add-ons since they make killers like Leatherface, Pig, Doctor and Ghostface go much higher than they maybe should. This is also why I'm including perks since killers like Leatherface, Myers, Trapper and many more are dependent on perks. Having no perks would also make Pig go up a few ranks due to her built in slowdown ability.

Now for the actual tier list.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/6A5DWBC3OMWG/my-image.png

If you have any questions as to why certain killers are in certain spots then feel free to ask. This discussion is already too long so I don't want to explain why each killer is their spot.

EDIT: These are in order. The left is best and right is worst of each tier.

I agree with almost everything. However, Ghostface is too low. He does everything Myers does, but better. Ghostface is better than Plague

  • @joshuashep22 said:

    let's start with the arguments:

1- "it's not scary enough" dbd has lost most of it's scary aspect and seeing a giant rusted metallic robot/human hybrid twitching violently charge at you sounds pretty terrifying.

2- "we have never seen him attack anyone/move before" in fnaf vr we see him clearly move on several occasions and I'm sure springtrap can be modified to work in dbd while staying true to his original character.

3- "but what about his power?" phantom animatronics like a stronger version of the doctors illusions that attack survivors are a good start.

4- "we have never seen a fnaf survivor before" recently Scott cawthon posted and image of a young looking woman who seems to be a security guard, also we don't know who the guard in fnaf 3 is so It could be an original creation, Scott might even go out of his way and reveal a past characters appearance through dbd

5- "the fnaf community is cringy/toxic/full of kids" in some ways this is true but this doesn't really affect much and the dbd community isn't the best either

conclusion: a fnaf chapter is a great idea/concept and people should stop treating it like it's as bad as asking for a fortnite chapter.

Its true that a lot of people are just bandwagoning hate, "ooga booga fnaf bad fire good", I still dont think its the wisest move. I would take Killer Klowns from Outer Space over FNaF.

I honestly thought they’d be bad before release, but I gave them benefit of the doubt and put a lot of hours into experimenting with them.

They’re my new favourite perks, and provide greater value than what they’re given credit for.

I’m currently running a new anti heal build on Clown of Nurses, Coulrophobia, Deathbound, and Forced Penance, with Sulphuric Vial for Mangled. It’s working very very well.

Forced Penance and Trail of Torment are quite decent perks.

Ok... This is the first time that i'm actually clueless on balance stuff, but...

When you are SWF we all know how unbalanced this game is, but when you are solo, you can only rely on yourself so:

Deathslinger has low terror radius, combined with m&a it's literally unexistent. When you hear it, it's literally on you already and since he has a ranged attack, that doesn't really sound fair tbh...

He is capable of point-blank shots and this makes him even stronger in terms of chases since, you can wiggle as much as you want, but with a good read you are hit no matter what...

I feel like something is wrong with this character. Like something is missing to make it balanced or so, but i'm REALLY afraid of changing anything on him because it could make it very unplayable...

I believe that maybe he should have a "humming" like the huntress and it should be on a certain range despite your addons and perks. Or maybe he should have a charging moment b4 shooting like the huntress, or lower speed, even just 105%, maybe the shot should be slower once it's shot, like the more you aim the faster it is (i know rifles doesn't work like this, but...). I really feel like something is missing in this character, but can't say what...

Type down here what are your thoughts guys!! Need to know more POVs!!

    P.s.

I play both killer and survivor at rank 1

Deathslinger is easily bottom 4. Most overrated killer in existance

    Killer: The Addict

Speed: 4.4m/s, T Radius: 32 Meters, Weapon: Lead Pipe, Ability: TBD

Lore: Josiah Collins arrived in Rapture to seek a getaway from the life above the surface. He managed to work his way up the ranks of society and social class in Rapture. Through countless jobs and hard work, he struck a deal with the owner of the Rapture bank and received a loan to start up his own business. His business was a store, and most of the profit he made went to Fontaine's Home For The Poor, or so people thought. It actually went right into his pocket so he could buy more Adam to purchase more Plasmids and gene tonics, which he had become fairly reliant on to keep his sanity. His over use of Plasmids has made him disfigured, so he wore his masquerade mask from the recent new years ball to hide his face. But, one night he was approached by a whistleblower who said she'd reveal his shady buissness practices to the public, unless he payed up. In a rage of fear that he'd be arrested, he took a lead pipe to her temple, killing her in one strike. On his way back to his apartment in Olympus Heights, he passed out as a dark fog surrounded him. Some say he fled Rapture, others say he still stalks the halls of Rapture.

Perks: Entrepreneurs Eye: For each good skill check done, survivors working on generators will receive the oblivious effect 5/10/15 seconds, and for each great skill check done, survivors auras are shown to you 2/4/6 seconds.

Im sorry but there cant be Bioshock anything without Big Daddy. Big Daddies are one of the most iconic villains in gaming history. Getting a non Big Daddy killer in a Bioshock chapter, would have been like getting Big Boss without being voiced by David Hayter.

This is a petition for Springtrap as a new killer, please if u can sign the petition and show devs that we really want him in game ♥️

While I still firmly believe that FNAF is simply not scary enough to be in DBD, I do think that if a FNAF chapter happens, Springtrap is the best bet.

How would his power work? How would he attack? Hes never seen attacking anything in the games. Would his M1 be bitchslapping a survivor with his hand?
