Look. I'll start this by saying: DS is a really good anti-tunnel perk (and I know that the Devs never said it was its function) as BT is a great anti-tunnel perk.
Now that's over, WHY, WHY in the heavens the devs doesn't say NOTHING about all the complaints (and proofs) that DS is a broken perk in its current status?
Hell, there's almost a consensus (when you play both sides) that 1 minute of immortality and "do whatever you want as long as the perk is active" is utterly BS.
And a really good solution has been brought by Scott Jund (and many other players). Give DS any duration you want. Hell, make it last for the rest of the match. BUT, in the moment that a survivor touch a gen o start healing somebody, the perk desables.
It's that simple. You won't get tunneled, as it will be up, and the killer won't have to worry about you sitting on a gen in his face 'cause you have 1 minute of "get out of the jail free card".
Why is so difficult to do that? (Besides the fact that survivors are the majority of player base and god forbid that the devs mess with their beloved perk).
EDIT: BT is great anti-camp perk.
DS really isn't an issue. The 60 seconds go by a lot faster than you think and the "60 seconds of invulnerability" is such a stupid complaint.
When you're playing killer you can slug or just not deal with the survivor if they jump into a locker. They're wasting their time, don't waste yours. I can't remember the last time I've been hit with DS and I usually get 4ks. Slugging is the most effective way to deal with it. It's not hard to make a mental note of who you just hooked.
Meanwhile, for survivor the only times I do get to use DS is when the killer tunnels me, sometimes not even then because the chase takes longer than 60 seconds. By the time you get unhooked (with the killer across the map) , get healed up and find a gen or something else do to, the 60 seconds are done like that. You no longer have DS, and never get to use it if the killer is good at pressure (like 99% of my survivor games go).

I hope you know that the issues with footsteps aren't exclusive to survivors, right? They stop killer footsteps too, at least from my own experience.
The shards glow on about 3 skins (they don't on her schoolgirl outfit, for example) and if you're close enough to see that then you're dead no matter what you do.
Grass doesn't move from Spirit.
> not like there is nurse's calling, bbq n chili, whispers, bitter murmur, rancor.
All of these but one reveal auras and rancor only works when a gen is done. Stridor removes the one reliable counter the survivor has- iron will- and means if you're injured you die. She can't see auras whilst phasing. She can hear things.
Making audio omni-directional would satisfy me more than enough, or adding a tell for when she's phasing that actually works across all her skins.
Most of the time you are at a pallet or window, spirits try mindgaming it to get you. That's when seeing the shards glow and her skin shimmer is useful. I can't remember the last time a spirit has successfully mindgamed me unless I mess up. I'm sorry but the "if you're that close it means you're dead" appears to be a sad way of saying "I give up".
I could gave sworn I see Grass move from her as well, but I could be wrong. I remember a few chases where I saw the grass move behind me so I walked to the left and lost her.
Fixing that bug and making it so she interacts with the environment more while phasing are the only necessary changes for her

As far as I know, the shimmer is a graphical bug. As well as that, it doesn't work on some Spirit cosmetics. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's the case.
I believe that the part of it not working on some cosmetics is a bug, but i have seen it on multiple skins. It's a designed feature to show when she is phasing, and it helps a lot when playing a Spirit.

Because there's no way to tell if she's phasing or not. Its just a terrible design decision. Imagine if Demo just shredded instantly with no animation or wind up. There's just now way to tell what they're doing and you end up dying for a lack of information that you legitimately cant have.

You know when Nurse is Porting. Cool.
You know when Trapper is placing traps. Cool.
You know when Ghostface is in stealth, you can still hear him swoosh around.
You can SEE Wraith's shimmer and you can hear his bing bong.
You can hear Billy Rev.
Huntress grunts when she readies her hatchet and she throws it.
Clown readies his bottles.
Demo opens his mouth.
Every single killer has a method to KNOW when they're using their power.
Why is Spirit any different? Standing Still shouldn't be a free hit, or a mindgame it isn't a mind game.
And I'm a PS4 Spirit Main.

She's so easy to 4k and to get to Rank 1 with.
If you're far away, you hear the phasing noise.
If you're close, you don't hear anything at all.
If you see her, she shimmers white which is hard to miss.
If she's phasing, you can still hear her footsteps and bushes move.
There are a lot of ways to tell that she is phasing, a lot of people just don't pay attention.

The howl and character itself isn't bad, however the turncoat would be very complicated and somewhat annoying to go against.

If devour was "so easy to defend", why are the best killer mains in the game constantly cucked of their devour before they get to use it? Oh wait - only a year in DBD.
I'm not overcompensating for anything. When going up against you, it's completely unnecessary. You make this far too easy. Keep going. I dare you.
1. The best killer mains don't run devour constantly, quite frankly most killers don't. If they do it's for a specific build or a requested one. You show how out of the loop you are if you truly believe that it is a meta perk at this point of the game.
2. You constantly reassure yourself in your comments. "I've shot down every point" "you forfeit the debate when you said you've been playing for over a year" "Anyone who disagrees is wrong". It doesn't make you look smart or better, it just makes you look thick minded.
3. You have misread multiple posts and continue to throw insults rather than make opposing points. @PigMainClaudette brought up fair points and you can only reply with "you're inexperienced your opinion is wrong". You have done the same for me. Like they said, get off your high horse, add something productive and grow up.
Also side note, I clearly said over a year. Learn to fully read and understand something before replying.

No need to get angry, I'm a killer main too. I think it is balanced as you only have 3 out of 4 perks until endgame. I guess if it absolutely needed to be nerfed, it could activate when an exit gate is opened. Also just because you use it doesn't make you bad at the game. If someone camps that sucks, and they probably are bad, but those who do not camp can use it to great effect and not be toxic. I am not trying to start a flame war.
I wasn't trying to be rude to you, just stating my opinion. Sorry if it came off as rude to you. I personally believe it should tell the survivors when they are exposed and it should be on a timer, not permanent until the totem is broken. There's been many games where a survivor finds the totem, killer gets them, then they puppy guard the area so it can't be broken, resulting (in my opinion) in undeserved extra kills

Perhaps you've never played killer before if you think hooking 3 survivors while defending your hex perk, and then finally get use out of it before it's destroyed isn't actually work.
Don't say you do - because you'll be lying.
I've been a rank one killer this entire season. I've been playing for well over a year. 3 hooks is not hard if you're a decent killer. You don't have to defend your totem if you apply enough pressure, but you clearly wouldn't know what that's like. Stop trying to over compensate for something by calling everyone inexperienced or a bad player just because they thing a perk shouldn't be in the game :)

As a player who plays both sides, but mainly a survivor main, i completely disagree.
As survivor, you have perks and items at your disposal to find totem spawns. Sometimes you have to put away those meta perks if you find noed to be any sort of issue.
You can always leave or find the totem when it is activated. It is in my opinion, it is one of the easiest perks to counter in the game.
The only reason a player doesn't break bones, is because it is more efficient to do gens.
Do bones. There is no excuse for having totems up by the time all gens are done.
How many solo survivor games do you truly have all 5 broken (without you bringing stuff to specifically counter totems)? There are games where you can't even find a lit totem because there are some insanely good spawns. Just tonight I spent my time trying to find totems because of this discussion, each game I broke 3-4 totems and was unable to find the last ones yet my team was unable to find them. 7 games I faced a killer with noed and almost every game they didn't have any kills until that point.
(This doesn't really matter but I'm rank 4 and keep facing rank 10-12 killers. Those are the killers that mostly bring noed or boosted red/purple rank ones)
Also, I'm sorry but the "bring this perk and it won't happen, bring a map, etc" arguments are still ridiculous to me. It's equivalent to "bring Franklin's to prevent a key escape". I'm not going to bring a map, detectives hunch or small game every game just because they might have noed, especially since i mostly run solo and can't trust the teammates i get.

Ok if i follow your logic DS should not be in the game it encourage the survivor to play stupidly after they get unhook
I have yet to see a survivor play stupidly just because they have ds. I have been rank 1 this entire season (besides the first few days getting back after reset), I watch tons of streams, videos, etc. If a survivor plays stupidly with ds by jumping into a locker, you can ignore them or just eat it so they don't have it for the rest of the game.

Devour hope? A second chance perk? A perk that takes SO much work, AND luck, to even use properly? LOLOLOLOOOOOLLLLOOLOLOLOLOOOOOOOLOLOOLOLLOOL
So much work is 3 hooks? and you have the audacity to call other people bad players? Also, if you could read, i asked what other survivor perks were second chance perks. I never stated that Devour hope is a second chance perk, it's one of the best perks in the game. What luck does Devour hope take? You hook someone and walk away 3 times to get an insta down, 5 times for a mori.

Rank 10 playing at a bad time of the day (those times exist) and come against 4 rank 1 SWF, body blocking and just being overall toxic. How are you meant to get 2 kills when you are rank 10? That leaves them to run NOED to not uninstall the game and actually have a chance.
That's broken matchmaking, and how would you know they're rank 1 swf prior to the game? I'm sorry but that just doesn't make sense.

Its literally the only second chance perk we have. Survivors have a whole meta dedicated to free and easy escapes. And any competant survivor team will destroy your totems first.
Besides DS, unbreakable, and Adrenaline what second chance perks do survivors get? Survivors have good perks, but they are nothing compared to killer perks. Devour hope, make your choice, haunted grounds, and noed alone are stronger perks than any perk survivors have.

@chase131119 said:
I believe they need to add a baseline totem number counter that every survivor gets, no perk needed. You shouldn't need a perk to effectively know how much of a secondary OBJECTIVE you have to do left (this is solo queue FYI).
That, and if NOED stays the way it is I believe that totems shouldn't be hidden any more than they already are (minus the really stupid spots like the disturbed ward totems literally next to a tree).
You can't tell me "do bones" on maps like lerys or hawkins.
I was on Hawkins and cleansed 4 totems and couldn't find the 5th one (the devour hope). I checked every cheeky spot and still couldn't find it. Some spawns are ridiculous and others are invisible.

It punishes survivors that only do gens and don't do anything else. If they dont do totems, then they might be punished by noed. Only way to stop this is by cleansing. And with matchmaking, its just the way the game is. And with it being a crutch, sometimes it is just needed because of DS, BT, DH and other similar perks. One too many SWF games as killer and you feel like this is your only option to at least get 1 pip.
The perk was designed for when the game was extremely unbalanced. I'm sorry, but if you can't get at least two kills you're just a terrible killer that doesn't deserve to pip or safety pip. Ds isn't as good as it once was, if you spread pressure you don't have to worry about it (Don't Tunnel). BT only activates when you're near the hook, it adds time to mend and heal, and the rescuer is an easy down. DH doesn't work most of the time, and when it does it barely makes a difference. If you wait a little before you swing then it's absolutely useless.

If NOED is an issue, you can use Small Game of Detective's Hunch :)
Ah yes, you should run a perk that you might not even need in order to prevent a poorly designed perk that isn't necessary anymore (in terms of the game being more balanced than when it was released). Also, when you're busy healing, being chased, or doing the objective sometimes there isn't time to run around the map to find 5 totems. I cleanses totems when I see them, but to reiterate, it's often times a waste because i don't get one and the randoms don't get it either.

What perks are you using as Survivor?
Botany knowledge, BT (which is only useful if the killer camps/ tunnels), iron will and plunder (i believe that's the name). Sometimes I'll throw on we'll make it, but that's really it. Why do you ask?
-
The reason survivors jump in a locker with ds is to prevent being slugged. Most of the time the killer slugs the survivor that was just unhooked and doesn't pick them up to prevent getting hit with it. It's not a big issue unless you only have one survivor left
-
as a killer main, noed shouldn't be in the game. It's a stupid way to give bad killers more kills, resulting in them being boosted into higher ranks. "Do the bones" is a sad counter, especially with the inconsistent totem spawns. All 4 survivors shouldn't have to go around the map to find 5 dull totems just to protect themselves from noed. There are times where I play survivor, cleanse 4 totems and still get hit with noed because the other survivors can't cleanse one. Most of the time that I die from noed it's on my first hook during the endgame, and the killer puppy guards me so absolutely no one can get me. If they do try getting me, 99% of the time the killer will stay there with a slug and me on the hook. You don't need noed to get kills, stop using it as a fallback when you play terrible.
-
I play ps4 and it's really not that bad.
1. DC is punishable now, so there's a lot less. I see people who purposely kill themselves on hook because they get salty often but there are very few actual DCs.
2.The matchmaking does need some work. For example, when I was a rank 8 killer I only faced rank ones. Now I'm rank 3 and I either face rank 1s, red rank swf, or purple ranks. The oddest game I had was when I was rank 4 and faced rank 20s. It takes a long time for survivor but short time for killer.
3. I've been receiving less hate as well. It just truly depends on the person and how you play. I've made quite a few friends by being a fun, yet challenging, killer to face. There is occasionally a few bad apples though.
4. The skill has improved but it largely depends on your rank.
Overall, the game is better than it used to be. Obviously it's not perfect, and it never will be, but it's fun to play.

But BPS...
Bloody Party Streamers are freaking CURSED!
I've almost never had a game go well with them - regardless of who uses them.
I am the same, but for once I actually had a perfect game while BPS were active. I was playing Freddy with survivor pudding and the survivors brought 2 BPS and an envelope that gives 25% BP to all players (forgot the name). I ended the game with a perfect 32,000 score against all rank 1/2 survivors. I was crying tears of joy
-
Another note:
Prestiging also causes additional problems to the blood web and poor add ons.
For example, I enjoy being a little toxic as survivor, and I have gone through 3 lvl 50 blood webs to get another flashlight but I continue to get brown tool boxes, medkits and add ons I already have. I haven't gotten another map in the last 10 blood webs, yet I have 20+ brown offerings. A lot of add ons, perks and offerings are unused because of how useless they are (perks are a different story). A solution to this could be to cap the amount of a specific add on, item or offerring you can get, maybe 25. This would result in less grinding to get an item you have a high chance of losing next game. Same thing goes for killer add ons and offerings.

Hits got by using killer's power are meant to give killer an edge and are balanced accordingly. Giving cooldown reduction on some of the killers' powers would tip the scales too much and it would be very hard to balance. Just imagine Huntress' hatchet throw with oak haft and babushka with STBFL affecting it.
I do see the problem with some killers having that cooldown. It probably won't be implemented, but if it was they would have to sift through the killers powers to see which ones would be affected and if they should be.
The least i can hope for is better add-ons for the lunge recovery for demo, it feels insanely long, especially if you hit something by accident.
Thanks for your thoughts!

That on Legions fatal frenzy or nurses blink stun would be bonkers
And if you would exclude those that would just bring confusion of why it would work on some killers and not others
It's a neat idea but I don't think it would be worth the hassle and confusement that would bring
It would be hard to implement, and truthfully I don't see it ever getting implemented because of the complexity.
You would have to break down every killers power that involves hitting the survivor and see which ones one be applicable, which is something I don't even want to investigate lol.
Thank you for your thoughts!
