Honestly, I don't even know if it's true. I haven't watched the movies, I've only heard people say it xd
Yes, he was a child killer in both canons. That's his origin story: the parents of the town found out that he (working as a gardener at a pre-school) was luring children to their deaths, so they locked him in a building and set it on fire. Freddy died in the fire but resurrected with dream powers to enact his revenge.
In the remake canon (the version in DBD), Freddy was both a child killer and implicitly a child molester, whereas the latter was only implied at best in the original series.

No.
You don't just add a character from 3 games deep into DBD.
Like @SunsetSherbet said, that's like making the Halloween chapter about Doctor Wynn. "He was the one who made Michael kill and it'll make people watch those totally not awful movies too."
>You don't just add a character from 3 games deep into DBD.
Why not? They've done it before, twice in fact.
Pyramid Head is from Silent Hill 2. Cheryl is from Silent Hill 3.
Leon is from Resident Evil 2. Nemesis is from Resident Evil 3.

"Play around it" That one spot in the RPD library makes the survivor unhookable. If that's not broken then I dunno what to tell you.
Perhaps the issue is then with the map design philosophy that allows spots like to happen, not the perk itself?
They added a hook to the second floor of Thompson House for similar reasons, because Survivors could hide up there to avoid being hooked (until the realm was reworked to add drop-downs to the second floor, removing the need for a hook up there).
Why couldn't something similar happen to R.P.D and other maps people are complaining about? Why complain about a useless perk receiving a well needed buff that finally makes it stick out and be used?
-
You wait, just like everyone else who hasn't received them yet.
-
It's a glitch. Everyone has it on Jane in particular, it will be gone by next patch.
It's not the first time we've received cosmetics unintentionally.
-
...most likely not.
Wouldn't be much of a Prime exclusive if it wasn't exclusive to owning Prime.

The devs aren't even elite players. They're like yellows at best.
No disrespect to the devs
Most game developers aren't, seeing as they're busy making the game, not playing it.
I imagine the last thing a game developer wants to do when they get home is play the game that they already spend eight hours a day working on.
They're not streamers who make a living off having 12+ hours a day free at home to play games professionally.

Yes. After a minimum of six months have passed since the closure of the Rift, they become eligible to be released in the Store.
Mind you, that doesn't mean they will be released as soon as the six months are up. There's still several outfits from earlier tomes that haven't come back iirc.

Prior to creating open doorways on the second floor of the houses, I believe they were all windows, which iirc was a lot worse :P
It was good for the Trapper though. No way for the Survivors to get to the other side and disarm the trap without setting it off first.
-
Only Boon related change I think should happen is having Booned Hex totems relight once the Killer snuffs it out.
It gives the Survivor a choice. Do you Boon the Hex totem, risking the Hex coming back into play once the Killer finds the Boon and snuffs it, or do you break the totem, removing the Hex permanently but also losing a potential Boon opportunity.
-
Probably.
Most customer support in video game companies seem to be nototiously inefficient, at least in my experience.
Except (rather ironically) Activision-Blizzard, which I've only got high praise of.
-
There's a miniscule increase in speed each time you hit a great skill check.
If you manage to hit every single one without fail, it shaves off a single second (so fifteen seconds instead of sixteen), but doing so is pretty difficult seeing as the great zone decreases in size with each successive hit..
-
It's her Tome... why wouldn't there be challenges for her. That's how every tome has worked.
-
It's real, and it's coming. Be patient.
6,000 Iridescent Shards if you played at least one match as Leatherface before the Mid-Chapter.

Wdym ?
I was thinking about this and shouldn't have just replied, because you just the dumbest thing I've read all day
It's an online competitive video game, not a singleplayer power fantasy slasher. Regardless of the backstory and power level of the Killer in their canon, they need to abide by standard gameplay mechanics. It wouldn't be fun for the Survivor players to have no chance because the Killer is an immortal demon with superpowers in their home series.
-
It's going to end the same way as Soul Guard, Power Struggle & Lucky Break, where people drastically overreact to it, but you're not going to see it used at all a week after the change.
It's not good enough to warrant swapping out a standard meta perk for.

It wouldn't take long at all if they could just ice then out to everyone who owns him.

Imagine comparing guns to an unlockable cosmetic in a video game.
Imagine comparing the usage of guns, a large social issue, to the usage of a tool to harass minorities, another large social issue. It's an apt comparison.
It's not about the guns specifically. I could replace it with pretty much any other comparison if you'd rather.

Isn't Baba Yaga like old or something?
If you look closely, you'll notice the duality theme of the skin.
The left side (her left, meaning our right) of the mask is unblemished, youthful and beautiful looking, like a woman in the prime of her life. The other side has wrinkles, crooked and spiked teeth, and a stereotypical hag nose, representing not so graceful aging.
Look at her legs. Her left leg is relatively normal (as far as it gets for a DBD killer anyway), and is even wearing a shoe. The right leg is all burnt, skin and bones with pointed toes.
This last one I can't confirm myself as I haven't heard the voice lines, but apparently her singing and humming features a youthful soft voice, while her wind up and attacking grunts are coarse and rough, further falling line line with the theme of duality. Half of her is a young, normal woman, while the other half is a decrepit old hag.
-
@Shaped said:
I prefer it over original. And for some reason she sounds younger.
Because it isn't Anna under the mask. It's a supernatural being in Slavic folklore, Baba Yaga.
It's the same deal with the Trapper and Oni. The Trapper isn't dressed up as Krampus, and the Oni isn't cosplaying as a Minotaur. It's those actual creatures you're playing as.

This has nothing to do with guns. It's very different. The 5 people using the mask in that way are the issue. That's why you ban them.
You're very naïve if you genuinely think it was only a handful of shitheads doing it.

I blame BHVR. They are the reason it's gone. They had multiple options to handle this. Like I don't know, doing what any other company does? Ban them instead?
Banning the offender doesn't erase the source issue, does it?
Why do you think there's such a big movement on gun control in the United States? Arresting one criminal who shoots someone doesn't stop the next guy from doing the same exact thing, but limiting the usage of the tool would.

Could you even tell the difference with the other 3? I know I couldn’t
Dwight's was almost identical to his default face. It was just missing the weird stitching pattern on the forehead that Bubba's face has.

Well what else would you make it? I was gonna make it Survivor Genocider but that wouldn't make sense as a survivor paragraph. You could do "Fix all generators yourself in a single public match" so you get a similar feeling of Zombie Genocider by doing it in 1 play through.
Well, I probably wouldn't add an achievement designed to reference a small community meme, especially one that would require a ridiculous quantity of anything to be done. You could instead reference the Willamette Pop. in a perk or add-on's flavour text, similar to Nemesis' Jill's Sandwich add-on.
If I had to add an achievement that required 53,594 of anything, it would be distance in meters travelled. At 4 m/s running speed, it would take 13,398.5 seconds of running, which translates to 223 minutes, which is about four hours (assuming all my math is correct).
Considering running makes up a large majority of Survivor gameplay, it would be a very reasonable achievement to get, and you wouldn't have to go out of your way for it either.

A time consuming trophy from a time consuming game.
Which can be done in a few hours if you use the SUV in the tunnels.
53,594 generators would take literal years of gameplay lol
I've been playing since launch and I've only done about 14,000, five and a half years later.

I cant believe the number is actually real. I agree 100%
Id love to see what they actually do? Lets say 50 are managers ( which would be insane ), what - 400 on the game, 400 on cosmetics?
Man its a ridiculously big team. They literally have enough people to put out a AAA game every 3 years.
Somehow I doubt that all 850+ are working on Dead by Daylight. They're both a developer and publisher, meaning they probably work on all sorts of external projects that we're not privy to.
Their Wikipedia page name drops seven different games they've worked on since DBD released (one of them being Deathgarden). Of course, they're mainly ports and mobile games, but still.
If you think 850+ is ridiculously big, you should take a look at Square Enix (5,500+), Nintendo (6,500+), Activision-Blizzard (9,500+), EA (11,000+) and Ubisoft (**19,000+**).

Haven’t played RE 5 but I think it is.
It isn't an exact match, but its definitely close.
The strange part is that he looked way different in the Chapter trailer and other promo material, looking much younger and a closer match to how he looked in the original Resident Evil, which would make sense as DBD's Leon, Jill and Claire are all from that era.
-
No rewards please. The bloody clothes is fine as is. It's purely cosmetic and optional, and should stay that way.
Retroactively adding rewards to Prestige levels is just going to screw over people who chose not to Prestige because they didn't think the current rewards were worth it.
I have a friend who didn't want to lose his event items on Jane, so he chose not to Prestige her because he didn't think her Bloody outfit would be worth the loss of the event items. Imagine how he would feel now, years later and several million BP dumped into Jane to get all the perks, if Prestige rewards were added.
-
I just want them to get rid of the distance gained from it.
The point of the perk is to dodge throw an attack, not to arbitrarily gain distance to make it to a window/pallet you wouldn't have otherwise. It's basically on demand Sprint Burst.

I may have a better idea: how about you grow up, stop spreading incorrect information about a character because you personally disliked them, and quit acting negatively towards people who rightfully want to play as their favorite killer again?
Mine sounds much more fun, I would say.
'Spreading incorrect information', such as my opinion? Opinions cannot be wrong (outside of the obvious examples such as "I think grass is red" nonsense).
The very last sentence was the only part of my comment that was not an opinion, and that's because it's a fact. Old Freddy was bottom tier. He was almost unanimously agreed to be trash, and that cannot be refuted.
The rest of it is all my **O P I N I O N**, not 'disinformation' or 'lies'. You're being disingenuous pretending otherwise.
Would you like me to start every sentence with "in my opinion" just to make it clear what I'm referring to? Because I thought it was rather obvious enough that it was all my *subjective personal opinion* and thus not up for debate.
EDIT: Also, point me to where I was "being negative towards people who rightfully want to play as their favorite killer again?", because I can't find that at all in my comment. I didn't mention any thoughts to anyone at all, let alone negative disparaging comments like you're implying (and like what you actually did to me).

So you are telling me, that you are happy that the most unique and interesting killer in the game was completely destroyed, and replaced with a boring mess?
I found that impossibly hard to believe.
And the "stronger" part is extremely questionable. As of now, I can safely say that an Old Freddy player can perform way better than a current Freddy player.
Without a shadow of a doubt.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2764245#Comment_2764245
I do not appreciate your lies.
You are correct in two things: invulnerability and the teleport being nice. Everything else is incorrect.
He had nothing else going for him outside of Aura control if you didn't know what you were doing. If you did, however...boy, the weapon you were wielding! He could make gens borderline impossible to complete, and there was a Forum member here who even mastered that tactic. He immediately started chases with a huge advantage, including a free hit at the beginning. Heck, he also had a pseudo-stealth.
And now...everything about him is boring. He insultingly hits Survivors who are awake, his alarm clocks are yet another escape route and he already had a reasonable amount of those, his Snares are boring and promote nothing but sleep-inducing gameplay. And his Dream Pallets barely work.
His rework was nothing but a failure, a huge middle finger to everyone who enjoyed and dedicated themselves to that killer.
Hey, here's a fun idea! How about you grow up, stop accusing people of 'lying' because their opinions differ to yours, and quit acting condescending to everyone about this subject matter?
-
Old Freddy was (rather ironically) a snoozefest. His rework is one of the better things to happen to the game.
He had nothing going for him outside of being able to see auras of asleep Survivors far away from him. That was his sole positive trait, and it was nothing special, nor did it offset Survivors having several seconds of invulnerability until you dragged them asleep.
He's so much more interactive and enjoyable now. Alarm clocks, dream snares, fake pallets and generator teleportation and fake-outs. He has a niche now, and is actually viable above low-level gameplay, unlike Old Freddy.
-
If they were going to make a Survivor incarnation of a Killer, they'd do it by making them their own character, not as a Legendary skin for a completely unrelated Survivor.
Why Feng? I can understand suggesting Yui as she came with Kazan, but Feng? She's Chinese, not Japanese.
-
I can't really see the Volatile being run around trucks and stopped by windows and pallets considering that they're very adept at parkour.
-
Jokes on BHVR, but I hadn't noticed because I've customised my Steam library with alternate artwork that looks far more visually appealing than the low res Huntress just standing there. 😎
Right now its just low res Nemesis just standing there, but I digress.
-
I'd rather it be original honestly.
I'm aware that the last three anniversary Chapters have been licensed, but if it happens again, that would mean four of the last five (and a half) Chapters were licensed. Resident Evil, Hellraiser, Ringu & whatever this license would be, with only Portrait of a Murder & Mikaela breaking it up.
I want more original content.
-

The survivor skins should be legendary imo and you can add Louis for Adam and nick for ace
No need to have six+ characters from the same franchise. The outfits are enough imo, especially since they were free.
Even if they did do what you suggest, the best L4D Survivor of them all would be left out because none of the DBD Survivors would fit him.

And? Do you want a round of applause for dealing with such heinous opposition?
This is a discussion board, not your personal diary. There's nothing to discuss here, you just notated something that happened to you.
-
That would be up to the IP holders, New Line Cinema, not BHVR. Seeing as we've gotten content for every other IP in the game except ANOES, its unlikely anything new is going to come from it over four years later.
Now thinking about would the idea of a mystery box like you pay auric cells for a random outfit the game choices for you sound good?
No. Lootboxes are not good in any game, and I'm glad that era of microtransactions is over.
