I disagree. Bubba is my fav character and I put a lot of time into getting those masks. I'd like to buy his other cosmetics.
Disagree with what? What I said wasn't an opinion.
You did not spend any Auric Cells on those masks. That's a fact. Why would they give you premium compensation for the removal of something you got for free?
6,000 Iridescent Shards is the equivalent of several dozen hours of playtime. That's more than enough for the removal of cosmetics that you didn't pay anything for but time.
-
That's what daily rituals already do, no?
I'm fairly sure that its tailored to primarily give you rituals to the side you play less, seeing as 90% of my rituals are always Killer ones.
I'm lucky to get a Survivor ritual a week.
-
No?
How many Auric Cells did you pay for those masks? None.
What did you pay to get those masks? Playtime.
Guess what currency you can only get exclusively through playtime? Iridescent Shards.

Well I class hellraiser and mikaela together as they're simply paragraphs, I do get why it's only pinhead as it's a liscene but other than that..
Well his power, you can see where it's being cast from, can dodge it, break it faster and still vault and drop pallets. You also have a mini side objective (the box which is good and mixed it up). Theres physically nothing more you could ask for from a power to be interactive?
Eh dont care for NFT, I didnt buy it I just brought a game character. Not like the whole world dont waste money and energy on millions of other things
Well I class hellraiser and mikaela together as they're simply paragraphs, I do get why it's only pinhead as it's a liscene but other than that..
Hellraiser isn't a Paragraph, it's Chapter 21. That was my point; it counts as a Chapter and is advertised as such, but it features the same amount of content as a Paragraph. The same thing was done with Ghostface actually, and I had the same grievances then.
Well his power, you can see where it's being cast from, can dodge it, break it faster and still vault and drop pallets.
Sure, for his manually aimed range attack. I don't have an issue with that, but I do have an issue with chains randomly appearing to harass me when I'm trying to run away, repair generators, heal other Survivors, and for almost *three full months before it got patched*, even while trying to solve the damn box to stop the chains. Seriously, in what way was it interactive to not even be able to solve the box because chains kept dragging you out of it? It is an absolute chore to face him in solo queue, because you can never rely on your team to go do the box, and when they do, they go down with it and starting the chain hunt early.
Chain hunt is not a fun or well designed mechanic IMO. It's just an annoying passive benefit for no cost on the Killer's part.
Eh dont care for NFT, I didnt buy it I just brought a game character.
You should, and you did. Part of the money you spent on the Chapter went to Park Avenue Entertainment (the at the time owners of Hellraiser) and Boss Protocol (the creators of the Hellraiser NFTs). That's how any licensed DLC goes.
Not like the whole world dont waste money and energy on millions of other things
Money and energy on things that actually matter, not images of monkeys smoking blunts used in crypto scams.
-
In my opinion, 'everything a chapter should be' should hopefully contain a map and a Survivor, no? The Survivor half of the community got absolutely nothing out of that Chapter.
Thankfully we got Mikaela's Paragraph only a month and a half later to make up for it,, but they really shouldn't advertise Hellraiser as a Chapter when it only contains half the content.
Also, 'interactive power for both roles' is debatable.
Also also, NFTs.
-
We do... I'm not sure what you mean?
We typically get a balance patch with every Chapter & Mid-Chapter. Each update has six weeks between them, or a month and a half.
The PTB for the next one literally went live today.
-
The Epic client probably doesn't have support for several opt-in builds of a single game like Steam does. It's likely not up to BHVR.
-
How?
The beta tab is for client side QOL changes like the wiggle skill checks feature. It wouldn't work with anything balance related, such as perk changes.

Oh my god, get over it already. It's been four months, they're not coming back.
They were obviously removed for legal reasons, which means there's basically no chance we'll ever see them again.
EDIT: Unless? 😯

Next time when people use Wraith with same way, say this again my dude.
'use Wraith' how? I'm serious, how would they theroetically 'use' Wraith to harass anyone?
You're being asinine.

They should remove Wraith too then? He is black and you can do same thing with him.
Or you can use black survivors for target this streamers and players. Or you can use LGBT+ flag and you can target this community too. We should not lose content for bad people. They should ban them. Now this is just reward for them.
Please don't be facetious. I agree that the masks shouldn't have been removed and instead a different avenue was taken, but comparing blackface imagery to black characters is ridiculous, just like your pride flag comparison.
-
Immature players were using the SmartFace as a tool to harass POC players and streamers, so now all masks have been taken away from everyone while those same players are just going to find another avenue to be toxic.
-
Grow up, OP.
-
@adam1233467 said:
i don't understand why they are going to take off all the masks instead of just the problematic one, they could make more bubba masks too
Because removing just the SmartFace would be the literal definition of racism (discrimination, or being treated differently, based on the colour of skin).
Removing them all is the right call, as it gives the SmartFace mask the same treatment as the LeaderFace, AthleteFace & SurvivorFace masks.
-
The killswitch is reserved for things that break up gameplay.
Cosmetics working as intended (I.E not making Survivors invisible) don't fall under that category.
What's the issue with warning people about it? It's not like people have a stockpile of masks that they've been waiting to use, like we saw with Iridescent add-on nerfs in the past.
-
You didn't pay for the four masks with real money, so why would you expect to be compensated with the equivalent of real money?
The only thing that earning the masks cost you was playtime. Playtime also happens to be the only way to earn Iridescent Shards (besides limited time event codes of course).
Ergo, you're already being compensated fairly.
-
I feel like the 8% nerf on Marvin's Blood is going to be completely negligible, and may result in you needing one extra hit at most to reach tier three.
It really (probably) isn't a big deal, and the Iridescent buffs more than make up for it.

Then why you guys can't mention all the upcoming changes in developer update? We need health-changes updates. Most of us don't care about removing Letherface's masks. It's only the cosmetics.
Then what would be the point of the patch notes if literally everything was already mentioned in the developer update?
It's for the biggest changes. They're not going to waste time writing up every minor detail for a quick forum update.

Sooooo, we buff Pinhead, right?
God no, anything but that. I'd sooner he be removed from the game.
Just pointing out that he does take more skill to play effectively then Clown does, so comparing the two in regards to giving Clown the same effect as Pinhead isn't great.
If Pinhead lands his ranged attack, he deserves the benefit of the Survivor being unable to fast vault a pallet, because it takes skill and timing to land a ranged chain and he gets punished if he misses. If Clown misses (which he won't seeing as the gas is an AOE and not a projectile), he can just throw another bottle immediately.

Yeah I figured this would be the case of many people who play the game a lot. It's just kind of an idea where if you want to prestige you can but don't have to. I'm sure there is a way they can also change it and make it better for like what you said and you don't lose EVERYTHING. Maybe just perks or something?
"It's just kind of an idea where if you want to prestige you can but don't have to."
So... like the current Prestige system?
It's much too late to add any more Prestige levels, because that's going to make hundreds of people feel like all their BP dumped into Prestige 3 characters was wasted.
Getting new cosmetics through the Store, Rift and Events is enough.
EDIT: Even adding more rewards to the current three Prestige levels would be iffy, because that means players who didn't prestige to begin with because they thought it wasn't worth it at the time would be out of luck. I have a friend who kept his main survivor at default level 50 because he thought it wasn't worth prestiging, and he has since dumped several million bloodpoints into the survivor, meaning hundreds of good items, offerings and dozens of limited time event gear.

I met plenty of pinhead mains or ppl who do enjoy playing him that dont have any issue landing the chain so idk what you mean with that. Maybe for a casual player yes but thats not what I am talking about obviously.
There's a difference between skilled Pinhead players who have practiced their ranged attacks being able to confidently land their chains, and Clown players who can literally right click at a loop at any time.
They may not have issue landing their chains, but that's because they've time in learning how to do so, not because it's easy to do.

Favourite: The Resident Evil chapter. Just in general.

Yes, it's January 1st there, but that's my point. When this thread was made, it was 3:30PM on January 1st where I lived.
I just found it humorous to see a post about it just being midnight, when for me midnight was over 15 hours ago. That's all.

Nope. Current time in both Koreas is 3:00 right now, so it definitely wasn't 3:30 an hour ago when I posted lol
I'm in Australia actually, on ACDT time, so it's currently 4:35 here.

No thank you, I'm not religious.
Also, the first thread of 2022 was probably made by someone in Oceania, likely New Zealand, as their timezone is ahead of the rest of the world.
-
3:30 in the afternoon for me lol
-
No.
You say that it would "stop survivors from running the same perks constantly", but what it would actually do is make players feel like they're forced to play the few survivors who have the best perks.
Let choice of survivor remain purely cosmetic.

I see you don't understand how this forum works. People have been outright flat out banned, jailed, etc for "voicing their concerns with the game."
I agree with you, but I'm only adding emphasis that it's not my intent to disrespect the devs to avoid such issues, if possible.
Sorry for the bump
Did this "voicing concerns about the game" happen to involve insults, personal attacks and non-constructive criticism, by any chance?
Because I find it hard to believe that anyone has genuinely been banned/jailed for merely discussing their thoughts in a polite matter, and I've been active on this forum since it was created.
-
It's already on Unreal Engine 4, which is already the most current version of the engine. Until Unreal Engine 5 becomes commercially available, this is as good as its going to get.
Anyway, its unrealistic to expect any live service game developer to change engine. It would just cause a myriad of problems.

Its called covid home therapy alot of players are still stuck at home due to quarenteens i feel like and while i dont use that as a valid excuse its a sort of frustration that alot of us have that cant quite be quelled in other areas.
Not quite. The community has been this bad for years, well before the pandemic started.
-
1) Darkness Among Us
2) Resident Evil
3) Cursed Legacy
-
Best: Resident Evil.
Two Survivors, an iconic Killer who is enjoyable to play as and against, a great map and nine perks.
Worst: Hellraiser.
A single Killer who is frustrating at best to verse, three 'meh' perks, no map, and absolutely no content for the Survivor half of the community. I don't think many people would lose sleep if the Chapter was removed from the game entirely, especially after the NFT fiasco.

you're really defending it as a winter solstice event even though it's fully christmas themed?
1) It isn't a Christmas event, it's a winter event. Not once has any of the winter events been referred to as a Christmas event. BHVR is particular in their phrasing because they're aware not everyone in the community celebrates Christmas for one reason or another (primarily religious reasons I'd imagine).
For example, 2017's and 2018's winter events were specifically referred to as 'Winter Solstice', 2020 was "Advent Calender' and 2021 was 'Season of Giving' & 'Bone Chill'. None of which are 'Christmas Event', yet all of which can apply to other festive traditions besides the Christian one. Having specifically Christmas elements (which are a thing, don't get me wrong) does not change that.
2) There's nothing to 'defend'. The event wasn't "cancelled", it ended on the specified date that we knew about before it even begun. I suppose people are upset that BHVR is adhering to their originally planned event timeframe and haven't extended it in compensation for a mistake, like they did for Halloween?
-
Okay, this is a bit much.
I've been pretty vocal about disliking how Dead Hard can be abused, but attacking people on a personal level is too far.
and probably incorrect at that. A lot of people who run Dead Hard are in general pretty good at the game and won't be affected horribly by a nerf.
-
Who would have thought that the Winter Solstice event ends the day after the winter solstice?
-
-
game that is not competitive
It's an asymmetrical Player vs Player game where you're facing off against strangers. By pure definition it is competitive, no matter how many times people would like to claim that "its a party game".
You want a casual experience? Do custom matches.
-
Here is a much better comparison image I made in Photoshop just now.
On the left is an in-game screen shot of Jill in DBD. The middle is the official Jill Valentine render from the Resident Evil 3 Remake (2020). The right is the promo render for Jill in Fortnite.
DBD's depiction of Jill matches much closer with RE3's, especially the face (which is surprisingly accurate considering they most likely did not get the actress's likeness much the rest of the licensed characters bar Ash.) Of course, Fortnite is a very stylised game, so that is to be expected.
Fortnite's Jill simply doesn't look like her. If you gave her any other outfit, she would not recognisably be Jill Valentine.
Not even mentioning Chris's depiction.
Fortnite's models might be cleaner, but DBD's are more accurate.

The fact that the dbd Jill was bugged in the first place is kinda still BHVR's fault no?
Sure. But the point is that OP is being disingenuous by using an outdated image of an unintentional bug while acting like that's her standard look.

Well it could be similar to soul guard in that, if there is a hex (we'll say for argument), that a player can unhook themselves for free. Maybe even on second stage? That could make it interesting.
That would make Deliverance almost completely useless then, seeing as almost every match has at least one Hex perk in it.
-
No thank you. I don't want my teammates to have incentive to try and unhook themselves, fail miserably and putting themselves in second stage for no good reason.
-
>like collect something ingame and escape, or prevent the survivors of having it by hitting them.
We're lucky we get that at all.
- Community complained endlessly about it during 2018's Hallowed Blight and 2019's Moonrise events, for 'disrupting normal gameplay'.
- Devs see that people didn't like that type of event, so they stopped doing it in favour of what we normally get (Bloodpoint offerings, decorations and special items, none of which change gameplay that much).
- Community complains that all the newer events are boring and don't do anything.
- Devs finally makes another event with gameplay changing elements (the snowmen), and take a guess what the community does (just look at the forums and Reddit these past few weeks).
We can't even have something as minor as that without the community bitching about it. There's no way that we could handle something as drastic as what you're envisioning, unfortunately.
-
No.
Given they were listed as removed in the 'Changes from PTB' section of the patch notes, and not the known issues section, that indicates it had something to do with the Hellraisers licensers. This would explain why we've never had any clarification about the removal.
-
What's the representation of RE5?
Chris is in his S.T.A.R.S outfit from REmake 1. You could argue that he facially resembles RE5/Revelations Chris, but that's more because he didn't appear in REmake 2 or 3 like Leon, Jill, Claire & Nemesis did, so BHVR had to get creative with his design.
-
2 weeks since the Artist came out.
That means a mid chapter is upon us.
...what?
Chapters come out every three months. That means the Mid-Chapter arrives roughly six weeks after a Chapter release, AKA a month and a half.
We still have a good while before the mid chapter arrives. Not to mention that the next Chapter is confirmed to release in March, meaning there's going to be a longer delay than normal at four months instead of three.

Uhh...99ing ignores EGC.
The gates are not open, there is not EGC, they save their friends, lick the gate without losing speed, and exit.
So you're post is either completely wrong, or I'm not seeing what you're trying to say.
Their point is that now the survivors are forced to keep the door closed to avoid EGC, whereas before they could have it wide open.
Contrary to what you keep saying, but even at 99% it does slow you down to have to run to the switch, tap it and wait for the door to slide open. Especially if you're coming from the opposite side of the gate, meaning you have to cross the length of the closed door to open it.
Open the gate yourself to kickstart EGC if it really is such an issue.
-
Much prefer RPD over Packing Plant and Treatment Theatre.
There's actual landmarks to go off of, while the above mentioned maps are basically endless identical corridors and rooms. Makes finding generators and totems a chore.
Hawkins had the same issue, but it wouldn't do for me to badmouth the deceased. 😔
