Exit Gates Should Regress
Not all the way, but by enough to make it take 1.5 or 2 seconds to open.
I am just done with Survivors 99%ing the exit gates, running in for a rescue, hip-checking the handle, and escaping with 0 risk. Going back to save your friends should be risk vs reward, but if you can 99% both gates; there's 0 risk and 100% reward.
Run back into the map, grab your friend, lick the handle and you're free! The Killer can't even kick the gates to regress them! There's literally 0 risk to 99%ing the gates. No fear, no risk. Lame.

Egc was not implemented to give you extra pressure.
You're fed up with 99'ing. Before egc, survivors simply opened with no consequence. 99'ing effectively can get them killed now.
Uhh...99ing ignores EGC.
The gates are not open, there is not EGC, they save their friends, lick the gate without losing speed, and exit.
So you're post is either completely wrong, or I'm not seeing what you're trying to say.
No, go open the gates yourself if you want.
Ah yes, because that will totally help me kill the Survivors, by giving them a way out.
The Killers need something balanced in their favor, given how OP boon totems are and how Survivor-biased this game is. And 99ing exit gates should not be allowed; It's yet another Survivor-favored mechanic that dodges EGC and lets Survivors save their friends with 0 risk.
Their point is that now the survivors are forced to keep the door closed to avoid EGC, whereas before they could have it wide open.
Contrary to what you keep saying, but even at 99% it does slow you down to have to run to the switch, tap it and wait for the door to slide open. Especially if you're coming from the opposite side of the gate, meaning you have to cross the length of the closed door to open it.
Open the gate yourself to kickstart EGC if it really is such an issue.
Look at the bigger picture here. Not what it suit you.
They have to rework and balance the entire endgame collapse and killer's endgame perks. Too much work for nothing.
EGC is not a killer tool, it's simply a way to prevent infinite matches.
If anything, the 99 makes it take a bit longer to get the rescued teammate out. The only thing it really affects negatively is Blood Warden, which I'm in favor of slightly buffing for this reason.
If you truly have a problem, bring No Way Out and/or Remember Me, or open a gate yourself.
They would not have to rework anything, if the gates regressed by 5%. It's 2 seconds to prevent 'I win' no-fear scenarios. What else would have to be reworked?
Nothing.
Fair but gates should still regress to prevent 99ing. Absolutely nothing in this game is in the Killer's favor right now. Nothing. Even Hex's, once the domain of 'too strong (rofl) effects' have been punted into the trash by the absolute OP trash that is Boon Totems.
NOTHING in this game favors Killers anymore. Nothing.
Even Killer powers favor Survivors, and have for years. IE: Nemesis extends chases if he uses his tentacle instead of just punching.
Killers need /something/ or there won't be Killers to play with. I'm already convinced Ringu girl will follow the same pattern of every other Killer:
To be fair, I'm actually not opposed to a slight regression myself. It would encourage teamwork, i.e. someone would have to stay behind to open the gate for optimal escape.
But killers' energies are better suited to making arguments for nerfs to CoH, buffs for weaker killers, and possibly even buffs to Hexes. The EGC is comparatively a non-issue to those, especially since the devs most likely wouldn't see EGC as a killer issue to begin with.
Fair but how often are weaker Killers buffed?
In all my years, the devs seem to jump on quickly over-nerfing Killers, then maybe, kind of, possibly, sometime in the next decade, buff one again. (Looking at you, Legion!)
Or maybe the exit gate opening animation should actually play out when opening the gate. (Example: Survivors 99's a exit gate and in order to open it the animation has to fully play out)
I used to think regressing the gates would be a good idea, but the more I thought about it, the more I started to see that really it was an extra tiny step for survivor, which has resulted in their demise sometimes.
Before, it was open the gates, make the rescue and escape. Now, it's 99% the gates, make the rescue, run back to the switch to finish the gate, then wait for the gate to open enough for people to escape. If you're chasing them down, now you have a little extra time where you can floor them as they hit the switch and have that extra bit of time to wait for the gate (useful if 2 survivors who are injured are trying to get out at the same time). Also, as has been said before, killers can now start the EGC.
The only things it hampers by not regressing are 2 perks: No One Left Behind and Blood Warden. I've thought of amendments to both which might make them more useful, as currently both are strong yet nearly useless perks because of the new tactic which is commonplace:
No One Left Behind: Once the final gen has been repaired, for every separate survivor you have either full-healed or rescued you gain the following buffs:
1. You see the aura of every survivor you have fully-healed or rescued. Depending on the tier, you may also see an additional 0/1/2 survivors that you have not rescued or fully-healed.
2. You gain a 50%/75%/100% BP bonus for all atruistic actions, based on which tier the perk is at.
3. For each survivor you have fully-healed or rescued, you gain a 30%/40%/50% speed boost to unhooking and healing.
Blood Warden: Once the final generator is repaired, each individual survivor you then hook prior to the gates being opened grants 10 seconds of Blood Warden blocking both exits once the gates are opened. If any survivor is hooked after the gates are opened, Blood Warden remains active (or reactivates if it ran out) for a further 20/30/40 seconds. However, once that happens, no further stacks can be added to Blood Warden.
Do the regress changes into a new perk or rework a bad one.
Not basekit.
I like this. It would make it something Survivors would have to worry about, and build around, but never know if it was going to happen or not. That way, they can't just plan for it every time.
See? We find a way. It's more intresting. If it was basekit, survivors will find a way to "counter" that and altruistic plays/saves probably will die.
You will lose potentional extra kills. With a perk, the end games will be more unpredictable and fun for killers.
Watch this tweet this is what should be in the game

Yes, they should regress a bit if the lever is let go.
