Who would have thought that the Winter Solstice event ends the day after the winter solstice?

you're really defending it as a winter solstice event even though it's fully christmas themed?
1) It isn't a Christmas event, it's a winter event. Not once has any of the winter events been referred to as a Christmas event. BHVR is particular in their phrasing because they're aware not everyone in the community celebrates Christmas for one reason or another (primarily religious reasons I'd imagine).
For example, 2017's and 2018's winter events were specifically referred to as 'Winter Solstice', 2020 was "Advent Calender' and 2021 was 'Season of Giving' & 'Bone Chill'. None of which are 'Christmas Event', yet all of which can apply to other festive traditions besides the Christian one. Having specifically Christmas elements (which are a thing, don't get me wrong) does not change that.
2) There's nothing to 'defend'. The event wasn't "cancelled", it ended on the specified date that we knew about before it even begun. I suppose people are upset that BHVR is adhering to their originally planned event timeframe and haven't extended it in compensation for a mistake, like they did for Halloween?
To be fair this wasn't called a winter solstice event either. It's fine if BHVR wants to refer to this as a "holiday event", but it's a little odd to end it days before the most recognized and celebrated holiday in the world. Regardless I just found the meme funny. This was in no way meant to get anyone up in arms over, especially on Christmas.
It might not have explicitly been a Christmas event, but the imagery etc. is very suggestive.
Still, they decided to give us more BP for Christmas itself, so there's that.

still better than most events . seems bhvr is actually trying somewhat for events. events used to be for a while just hooks and gen recolors that gave extra points. but now there are some fun elements
