people who dress in black, are morbidly dramatic about things
You're thinking of emo, or perhaps goth. While 'edgy' can apply to this as well, it has a broader definition of styling and acting in an unconventional way with intent to set a trend.

Absolutely shameful trigger discipline smh

You move slower while manifesting? Either thats wrong or I need to file a bug report; manifesting and demanifesting hasnt changed my speed while I was playing her, unless its a recent change?
I've just changed back from the PTB so I can't verify myself, but her wiki page says her manifesting speed is 3.68 m/s, or 92% base movement speed.
-
You move slower than the Survivors do while you're manifesting, likely giving the bodyblocker a chance to catch up and get in your way again.
Surely it's easier just to injure the bodyblocker, giving you two potential targets. I've seen so many Killers lose a kill because they adamantly refused to hit the blocker instead of hitting them instantly, and lost too much distance with the blocker constantly getting in their way.

You just can't see it yet...but you will.
If the devs give us a chance, I will change your mind. I can do better. I can help you see it.
No need. I'm not ignorant to the old Freddy playstyle; I've been playing the game since it launched and have first hand experience with him.
I was there when old Freddy was born, and I was there when he died.
Definitive proof that I played him extensively well before his rework rolled around in July 2019.
-
Nah, Old Freddy can rot in the depths of whatever hell exists in the Entity's realm, alongside pre-nerf Spirit.
Sadako's power imitates his somewhat, and already looks far more enjoyable and interactive to verse.

The annoying thing is, rpd isn’t even really a new map, it’s just the RE2 map with some extra doors
That logic doesn't make sense whatsoever.
I guess Haddonfield wasn't a 'new' map, because it's "just Laurie's street from the movie"? Did Midwich not count as a 'new' map because it's "just the school from Silent Hill 1"?
How about characters. Bill wasn't a 'new' character because he was just "Bill from Left 4 Dead"?
It's new to DbD, ergo it's new content.
-
Jake, because he was the least played out of the four Survivors available, and I didn't want to join the tsunami of Meg's and Claudette's.
-
No.
There's already a noticeable difference in the 5% between 110 and 115. Making them even faster is an unnecessary flat Killer buff, and would make Killers like Trickster, Clown, Blight and Nemesis unbearable to go against.
Focus on buffing individual underperforming Killers instead of giving the entire role a flat buff that would just cause problems amongst the roster.
-
Probably not. The Ring doesn't interest me as an IP. The Japanese original novel even less so.
I'd prefer more original Chapters over a horror IP that hasn't really been relevant (outside of Japan) in 20 years.
Admittedly, I'm probably biased because my dream Chapter already got in last year.

Yeah, I agree with that.
It feels like it has the skin of a horror game, but the framework has shifted.
I feel like that's to an extent simply because of nostalgia. We don't feel the same feelings of unease and spookiness because we've been with the game for years and know about everything it has to offer.
A new player today would probably feel very similarly to how we first felt years ago, in terms of the game feeling like a horror title.
-
@SunsetSherbet said:
Why would you add in the villain of the third game and not the character in the games title?
For the same reason why Pyramid Head is the Killer in the Silent Hill Chapter, and Nemesis is in the Resident Evil one, despite both characters debuting in a sequel.
-
Besides the obvious 'most likely wasn't ready' idea already put forward, look at it this way.
The anniversary is supposed to be a big event. See the past two, where two huge horror IPs joined the fog. It's about recognisability of the IP, how iconic it is.
I'd wager Scream and Ghostface is far more iconic than Stranger Things is, particularly in the horror fan community.
Of course, our Ghostface is an OC, but I digress.

I cringe when I see legion kill someone like David. Like how
It's almost like its a well established fact that the Killers have been powered up with supernatural abilities and are no longer human. You didn't gather that from how even the smaller Killers like Legion, Pig, Ghostface, etc could break a wooden pallet by stomping it?
Even without that fact, the Legion is armed, and the Survivors are not. It doesn't matter that David is a burly man with a history of cage fighting; he has no weapon and the Legion is a knife wielding maniac.
-
Literally just spend them elsewhere. "...effectively locked my account"? You're being over dramatic. You get more Bloodpoints by literally just playing the game.
Drop the million BP on a different Killer of your choice, and you'll make that BP back in no time if you use the numerous Bloody Party Streamers and Survivor Puddings you will surely pick up during the spending spree.

I think people who actually take the game hostage should be the ones punished. I also think walking into a corner when a killer around is a huge misplay, I also believe taking advantage of that as a killer is BM. I do not, however, believe the person blocked is taking the game hostage because why would I? Other people agree with that, surely. Then why is the bodyblocker magically taking the game hostage? They are not, objectively.
It is just a fact. And when dealing with punishments, generally speaking facts make more sense than just randomly promoting negative behavior. Yes, you establish body blocking is bad. But in doing so, you endorse players literally refusing to do their objective. Both are wrong and should be equally punished, but they are not because of a, quite frankly, poor mentality.
As far as I am concerned, that is reasonable. The only innocent person here is the one who put it upon themselves, ironically. So to be clear, no, I am not defending the body blocker. I am merely properly assessing where the actual blame lies.
If I am ever blocked, I will be far more frustrated with the survivors keeping me in the game than I would be with the killer who might not even be at his freaking monitor. Rofl.
Then why is the bodyblocker magically taking the game hostage? They are not, objectively.
It's funny you say that, considering BHVR's take is a bit different.

Slugging is most definitely NOT holding the game hostage - the game will end, the person will bleed out.
Holding someone hostage in a corner, the killer body blocking a survivor there for example, prior to EGC starting, is holding the game hostage for that person, as the person cannot do anything to progress the game, cannot die for example, cannot do a gen either. Slugging does not fall under that category which is why we specifically have on the game rules that camping, slugging, tunnelling etc are not reportable offences.
Nobody gets banned for slugging anyone.
"Holding someone hostage in a corner, the killer body blocking a survivor there for example, prior to EGC starting, is holding the game hostage for that person, as the person cannot do anything to progress the game, cannot die for example, cannot do a gen either."

Sorry this is also incorrect.
The killer blocking a survivor in a corner is a hostage situation regardless if the other 3 survivors are able to work on generators. The survivor that is being blocked cannot do anything to progress the game (this is of course as long as EGC has not yet started). It is completely irrespective of the other survivors being alive.
The blocked survivor is being held hostage, cannot die without being hit by the killer, cannot work on generators - can do absolutely nothing in that situation therefore it is a hostage situation and completely against the game rules.
"The killer blocking a survivor in a corner is a hostage situation regardless if the other 3 survivors are able to work on generators."

Only three people will buy the outfit. Why make an outfit for someone who isn't played as much?
Well that's the problem, no? They don't make cosmetics for characters who aren't played often, so people don't play those characters because there's very limited cosmetic options.
It's a self-perpetuating cycle, and its why characters like Feng, Meg, Nea and David seem to get a new outfit every second collection, while characters like Adam, Jeff, Ace and Zarina are lucky to get two outfits a year.

The current Rift is for a licensed Chapter. Much of the content of each Rift relates to to characters being feature, so in this case, all of that content will have to be paid only. BHVR can't give away SAW related memorabilia for free.

or basement bubbas... could never get a game
aaaaaand this is exactly why it won't, and should not, happen. It's an abusable system that has already happened in the past in the form of MLGA (Make Lobbies Great Again). Good players were unable to get any lobbies at all because everyone and their dog had them blocked because they didn't want to play against someone better than them.

Her licensed game makers would have to approve of something and generally they won't. They only ever approve of the Xmas sweaters. That's about it. NO licensed character has ANYTHING holiday related EXCEPT those sweaters. It won't happen.
I mean... Capcom approved the Blighted Nemesis skin, no? As did Konami with the Blighted Pyramid Head, and Fun World with the Blighted Ghostface.
Kind of makes your second paragraph not true.

Probably we will get some outfits from RE this year. But i don't know when.
Ethan won't happen until Capcom decides to stop treating his face like it is a mystery. If anything, we'd get a Village outfit for Chris (although I'm unsure how that would work considering normal Chris is already a skin for Leon).

Companies are not your friend. They exist solely to make money, not to earn your 'respect'.
If it's not going to make a substantial profit, they're not going to do it.
It's the same in every industry, be it Video Games, Television, Films, Music, etc.
-
Yep. Fun and well designed killer power, right?
Being unable to do what the game is telling you to do, not because your opponent is blocking you, but because the game itself is.
-
I've reached tier 70 in every Rift so far... except Rift 2 (David, Jane, Doctor and Spirit's). I was burnt out on the game at the time (the influx of Doctors and Spirits didnt help), and stopped playing at like tier 11.
Boy do I regret it. Could've had that flawless streak. 😥

Thing is, it wasn't even enough for a "good" cosmetic. It should have at least been 7500 shards.
The four masks were low effort retextures of his default mask.
A standard low effort retexture of a cosmetic in the shop costs 900 Iridescent Shards. You can get six new equivalent cosmetics in exchange for losing four.
Let's not pretend that the survivor masks were anything special.

Ultimately it is their call what they do but it does feel irksome that they took away cosmetics from Bubba but gave you no replacements for Bubba.
Whether I got them for free or not doesn't really matter to me. It's BHVRs call in the end so they can do what they want (Hell, it would have been well within their right to just pull the masks they feel is problematic and told everyone to suck it up and give us nothing) but I feel like it would have gone far smoother if they replaced the cosmetics we lost with a different one.
Then you would have complaints that people dislike the new Leatherface cosmetic and feel its inferior to the old ones.
At least this way, you're completely free to spend your compensation however you want instead of having something you may not even want forced on you.

The thing is it is not a challenge, both players just hold 1 button till the Killer finally reaches you, it is both a boring way of gameplay and has no interaction with each other.
Camping, tunneling, gen rushing and hiding all game are all also valid ways to play with little to no interaction between the roles. I don't see how its any different for the 'run in a straight line' "strat".
Camping is just stand there staring at the Survivor as they die while the other Survivors bang out generators in peace.
Tunneling is just chasing one Survivor over and over while the other Survivors bang out generators in peace.
Gen rushing is just banging out generators at all costs while completely disregarding the wellbeing of your other Survivors.
Hiding all game is just sitting in lockers and bushes with minimal generator progress until the Killer gives up in frustration.
-
The 'holding W' argument is so stupid.
Only the DBD community would complain about the opponent running in a straight line.
Wouldn't want to make it actually a challenge to catch anyone now, would we. 🙄

The Hellraiser DLC is also marketed as a Chapter, despite containing the same amount of content as a Paragraph. They've probably just dropped that naming scheme altogether.

I mean sure, its OP if you don't miss. But that would imply that huntress couldn't miss. Which we all know...nobody ever hits 100% hatchets. That requires skill, and this game likes to remove skill requirements in favor of hand holding. Thus, no raising the stakes with Iri Head.
Also can we get real for a second and stop pretending every single huntress runs around with a stack of 90 iri heads as if they're bringing them to every single game...
Balancing something based on whether the player is skilled enough to use it isn't a good way to balance.
Not that hitting at least one shot out of three is very difficult what so ever. All you had to do was wait for them to get animation locked (vault a window or pallet) and hit them while they are unable to dodge.
Nobody hits 100% of their hatchets, but old Iridescent Head only required you to hit 33% of your hatchets, a requirement most people with functional brain cells could meet.
It's still a really strong add-on, and better then most iridescent add-ons. It just has a wider margin for error and requires more effort on the Huntress' part to use, which is fine.

Old irri head need to be back indeed! We killers are sick of being abused by survivors all game long...
because the gameplay for survivors is not 'do gens' anymore.. it's go harras the killer! it needs to stop
We need the game to flip being killersided for year or such .... and maybe then Survivors 'cry babies' wiil understand WHY we were always camping, tunnelling, mori'ing atm. in this BS survivor sided game!

You need to be scouted by someone at BHVR themselves. Streaming the game for years and putting money into it doesn't mean anything if your streams aren't popular enough.

RPD fun to play on....
Pinhead has a pretty meta perk and is fun once you learn him.
I love RPD. The four (formerly five) indoor maps are all in my top ten. Most of the outdoor maps play identically outside of the individual main buildings, so its refreshing to play on maps that force different playstyles.
I can't appreciate Killer powers who give such a passive advantage for absolutely no effort on the player's part. While I'm aware that Nemesis has this to an extent (the zombies acting on their own accord), but Pinhead's chain hunt is ridiculously effective for something that happens independently of, for the most part, anything the Killer player does, and its super frustrating to go against as a Survivor (doubly so in solo queue). Nothing is more controller breakingly frustrating than a random teammate grabbing the box and going down with it, punishing the entire team with movement slowing chains and preventing any sort of generator progress.
-
Best is Resident Evil. Nemesis is fun to play and easy to learn, and the AI zombies are a really cool innovation that I hope we will see expanded on. Two iconic Survivors, nine alright perks, kickass theme and chase music, and RPD is super fun to play on and is visually gorgeous to boot (puddle reflections in MY DbD??).
Worst is Pinhead. Advertised as a full chapter, but all you get is a single extremely frustrating and annoying Killer and his three meh perks. No map, and nothing for Survivors. He's not even fun to play as or against to boot. At least Ghostface (whose Chapter did the same thing) brought a healthy alternative to Myers' playstyle. Add the whole NFT fiasco in the mix...
Pinhead should be thrown in the garbage dump where he belongs and forgotten about.

Because people tend to point to his political donations as evidence that he's a 'homophobic piece of ######### who deserves everything coming his way', when everything we have ever seen him discuss about the topic, as well as other private donations, indicate the opposite.
You can support the views and actions of one aspect of a politician, organisation, charity, group, etc while simultaneously not being personally on board with another aspect. He's made this clear both through his other actions and his words.
