I noticed that collecting Haddie's pants in the Event Tome counted towards the #/10 count even though it shouldn't. That might be a contributing factor (I assume the same applies to the Dredge's arm cosmetic).

Iirc, in past events with the crowns you had to play that character to unlock the crown for them. So I was asking if I could play say, Cheryl, and unlock Dwight's mask by chance.
Yes. That's what I answered in the comment you replied to.
"No, you don't need to be playing one of the six."
There's only six Masks on each side. You don't need to play any specific character to unlock anything. You can unlock all 12 Masks as a licensed character, for example.

Can you still unlock masks for other characters not playing as those characters?
Sorry?
I might be reading this wrong, but I'm fairly sure you're just asking something I answered already in that comment.
-
1) Pretty sure that's the noise the invitation stand makes when it's relocating to another area of the map.
2) Additively.
-
No, you don't need to be playing one of the six. You're just getting unlucky.
I've found several as Haddie and Jake, both who aren't one of the chosen (although Haddie does have one in the Mini-Tome, I guess).

Stupid question, where on the UI does it say how many rewards you've unlocked?
Same as the Lurking Stripes event earlier this year.
Once you return to the lobby after unlocking one, it briefly pops up at the bottom of your screen with the cosmetic you just earned as well as how many you've obtained so far. It stays for a few seconds, and its easy to miss if you're tabbed out or something.

You sure they weren't referring to the week long Bloodhunt we had not even three weeks ago, which started a few days after the Anniversary Stream?

2017 had normal looking Mystery Boxes, its just that they were half price, commons were 1500, uncommons were 2000, etc.
2018 is the only one that had the gifts, they didnt just replace Mystery Boxes as they would appear multiple times in 1 bloodweb
No, 2017 definitely had the Solstice Gifts.
https://youtu.be/AyNuc7xi-N4Video is dated 15th of December, 2017. Nine minutes and thirty seconds in, one appears in Jake's Bloodweb.

Not every solstice event
only the 2018 Winter Solstice did these show up, I guess theyre bringing them back for the Anniversary Event
They were only absent during 2021's Solstice event.
They appeared in both 2017 and 2018, while 2019 and 2020 didn't have the event to begin with.
-
They're called *Winter Gifts* and they replace Mystery Boxes during every Solstice Event. They were special in that they tended to reward the unique Event nodes more often than regular nodes.
Did you find this one in a fresh Bloodweb you just generated? Or did you happen to find it on a character you last leveled during said events?
-
There's been countless updates tweaking number of and distance between pallets over the years.
Yes. Tweaks *over the years*.
It's almost like Dead Hard is not a new addition, and has been around for five years, giving the developers plenty of time to adjust the map design accordingly.
-
What's the point of this thread?
Are you shaming the Haddie for disconnecting after being farmed off hook by Mikaela? That's not too outrageous of a choice IMO, though I'd personally just let myself die instead of give up my points.
-
@bm33 said:
I wouldn't say "new", I'd just say it's tradition since it's been past 3 years.
Further back then that.
The release of Curtain Call in 2018 was delayed by several weeks on all consoles because the update was that busted.
-
They need to be in the same region, of similar MMR, and need to be searching for a lobby at the exact moment you are.
Odds aren't in your favour.

They've released free survivors before. Feng, Bill, and Nea are 3 that come to mind and I think David was paid for but I believe he's free now. And you'd be surprised how big the market is for openly gay characters ESPECIALLY characters who have drag cosmetics (Hell, I've seen so many people say they should've made a NEW openly gay character instead of just making David gay. Ppl want it!) Hell, the number of new David players I've seen (rocking Pride charms as well) since after they announced he was gay has skyrocketed. Just played a game as killer trying to get some BP and two of the survivors had the Pride charm. I mean, even I've started playing him a bit more after that. Not to mention the players it'd BRING to the community.
There's literally a horror themed drag show called Dragula. I mean, imagine the Halloween themed fits we could get in DBD. Elvira themed look? I mean I'd pay for that in a heartbeat.

Yes!!! I need to read it ASAP.

Feng is definitely not free. She was released in the Spark of Madness Chapter alongside the Doctor. If you want to get technical, both the Spark of Madness and Of Flesh and Mud Chapters are included by default into the console editions of the game, although the price of the game is accordingly higher to compensate.
David (and by extension the Huntress) on the other hand was indeed free, and always has been.
-
Excuse the poor cropping job. It was pretty much glued together in Paint.
-
Looks fine to me.
Definitely doesn't look exactly like SH3 Cheryl, but she looks like a normal person regardless, and not a hideous abomination like old Quentin and Claire did.

I'm just saying it's weird.
Not entirely.
You don't lose gained Bloodpoints mid-trial for any reason, whereas you can lose progress to your Emblems by playing poorly.
It's entirely possible to stay in a match long enough to perform enough actions to maximise your score categories, while also losing progress to your Emblems by repeatedly losing chases, getting hooked, stuff like that.
-
It's been several years since the ranking system has been based off points.
-
David getting a second Tome while Feng, Adam, Jeff, Zarina, Felix and Élodie not having their first at all is such a travesty.
Those last three in particular have such interesting potential for a background expansion that could relate to the overall lore of the game. Both of David's Tomes just go into his frankly uninteresting character imo.

There's no need for it if it only gets used to throw vile vulgar racial words from the survivors to the killers as they gang up on the killer.
That's the issue the don't get punished the in game report system is useless as it doesn't do anything against those who abuse it.
Also if we are going to talk about everyone. No one gets punished for it. Those who use in game chats already have sources such as discord, teamspeak or twitch tv for the streamers. They don't need nor get punish for it, everyone wins. And so BEHAVIOUR don't need to spend more time on having a censoring bot to censor certain words
Here's the button you're looking for.
Use it.
-
Uh, no?
Turn it off yourself instead of clamouring to remove it for everyone. No need to punish everyone because some people abuse the feature while you can't be bothered pressing a single button.
-
@Tsulan said:
What makes you think that it will be reworked? Project W could mean a completely new map or several variations like freddy's map.
Probably the part in the Stream where it was explicitly stated that it is going to be reworked.
Nothing to do with Project W.

I was praying we'd get Beach Wraith as the outfit 😔
BHVR really conning me into buying their dating sim by attaching an outfit for my man Jake. 😓
-
@ChurchofPig said:
Wait where did you hear this? I've heard nothing about any exclusive charm/outfit, did they say it in the anniversary stream and I just missed it?
-
It's Steam exclusive as far as I know. None of the marketing specifies any platform besides Steam.
-
I interpreted that statement as six Survivors and six Killers to represent the six years of the game existing, not specifically one representing each year.
That said, Dwight shouldn't get one. It's clear he's the poster child of the game, as he gets shoved into everything.
Jake erasure.
-
Yes.
The bottom six are for, in order: Ace, Élodie, Dwight, Jane, Mikaela & Yui.
-
Here we go...
-
Rather have twelve unique cosmetics for select characters instead of one cosmetic copy pasted thirty times like the past two Anniversaries.
-
We could have gotten a Kart racing game instead...
😥
-
CHRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS
-
Map layout accuracy bros... we lost.
-
Only during the Solstice season, where I put all the Survivors in their Ugly Sweaters to fit the mood. Except Quentin and Laurie, of course.
-
Good job.
I've clocked in just under 3,900 hours since June 2016, and I've yet to manage this feat. Guess you play much more optimally then myself, in terms of Bloodpoint gains and usage.
-
They're time consuming (not 'hard') to get, because:
A) You earn them by literally just playing the game as you normally would, with no effort required on your part in going out of your way to earn them.
B) They're a substitute for premium currency that is only obtained with *real money*. Wouldn't be much incentive to purchase Auric Cells if Iridescent Shards were both free and easy to obtain.

He was playing survivor in the video and he literally looped someone for at least 2 minutes around a single house. A SINGLE HOUSE and he wasnt using the god windows that much.
That sounds like major incompetence on the Killer player's part, not an issue with the map design or even a display of impressive plays on the Survivor player's part.
-
That's not at all what it means, nor has it for the past couple years since the difficulty ratings were introduced.
It's not their fault you misinterpreted it into believing something completely different.

sick and twisted
That's literally the whole point of the Battlepass system.
If you could buy the specific tiers that you only want, then they might as well just be regular store cosmetics to begin with.

Was that a failed pallet save? I can't tell, looks like he's just dropping the survivor though 🤔. Looks like you loaded into a 3v1 too... wait... were you farming? Also those perk rarities in the first pic... I'm guessing the Leader perk is that colour because the Dwight had it equipped? I don't even remember it being like that so that's interesting.
That 2nd screenshot, 3 weeks after the game released? I think that's Wretched Shop? Wasn't there 3 open windows right where you're downed? Crazy.
Also just for fun, here's my first in-game screenshot (cursed):
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2D2CYE7CZM6Z/steamuserimages-a-akamaihd.jpg
Can't rightly remember the specific details to be honest. It *was* over five years ago, and that's a long time for someone in the midst of adolescence.
The pallet save was successful, evident by the point indicator on the left. I doubt I was farming. I always thought it was a waste of time when I could just kill myself and move onto the next match ASAP.

20th January, 2017.
By no means my oldest, but its the oldest uploaded to my Steam profile.
Look at those fully capitalised Survivor names. Positively ancient.
EDIT: Went digging through an old hard drive and found this one.
9th July, 2016. About three weeks after the game released.
The username 'Baked Jake' was apparently hilarious to my fourteen year old self.
-
Been playing since Beta. I barely play anymore, and when I do, its to SWF with friends (redundant, I know).
Been that way for a couple years (although there was a brief stretch after the RE Chapter released that I was once again *hooked* on the game).
-
I don't see how the directional audio change would have affected it.
That applies only while the Spirit is phasing. You can't vault windows, or do anything else for that matter, while phasing.
Sure it was aesthetically pleasing, but it wasn't fun to have to guess whether she is actually vaulting or not. It lead to many unfair downs for many players because *you couldn't see her*.

New Kavid Ding Perk:
- Hard
You can take a beating, but without the ouchie part.
New Kavid Ding Perk:
* Dead
When injured, press the Active Ability key to instantly die.
-
Borrowed Time, Iron Will, We'll Make It & We're Gonna Live Forever.
Four beautiful perks, three that encourage teamwork and cooperation, which is essential to any successful trial.
-
Unlikely.
All Bill related content is free, and his outfit was in the free track of the Rift. I doubt BHVR would be able to take his outfit and put it up for sale in the Store like they (eventually) do with other formerly Rift exclusive outfits.
-
Because simply getting them sacrificed isn't the only thing that gives you points in the Devout category.
Three sacrifices is six points, and a Gold emblem requires eight.
If all four Survivors have been hooked at least one, you get a bonus point. If you've reached a total of nine hooks (not hook states), you get another bonus point.
So it's possible to get a gold with only three sacrifices, but you didn't fulfil the whole requirements.

Multiple timelines and alternate universes are an established component of Dead by Daylight's lore, which explains why you can have several of the same Survivor, all dressed in outfits that they would have never worn in life (Yui's archive video in particular demonstrates this nicely).
Seeing as Leon has his RE4 special agent outfit depiction available in game, that means at least one version of Sherry survived Raccoon City in DBD canon, as Leon joined the Secret Service under threat of Sherry's continued safety.
