keep in mind this is the live version of the game and not the ptb. if this were the ptb i wouldn't have had to allow unhooks to keep showcasing DMS. i also wouldn't have needed to run furtive chase and would've had room corrupt or starstruck. the especially lucky part of this video is how i found the obsession first, which won't matter if the ptb version of DMS goes live! the video ended early because i can't get current DMS to work once the obsession is dead unless i get a new one, but it's a 3v1 at that point anyways.
i'll be first the admit that this won't work as well on other maps with gens on different elevation (haddonfield, badham) but i don't think that justifies this working this well on actual good maps lol
another game, but much closer: i think the most noteworthy thing about this video is 2 gens were finished at the 3 minute mark in the video (about the same time i started activating DMS), but the 3rd gen wasn't finished until 11:41 in the same video. wow.

Honestly, I'd agree with you IF CoH was getting a nerf.
As it's not, we must assume that's the new bar for balancing perks, and now were going to enter another arms race between crazy killer perks and crazy survivor perks.
It's going to suck, but it is what it is.
-
In solo-que, it's a nightmare. At least one person will DC the second they realize it's in play, and everyone else attempts to reenact a Three Stooges bit all trying to use the same box while the killer looks on.

We can thank MMR for reducing survivor experience to verse same 4 killers over and over.
At this point I am just happy to see any unusual killer, even if I dont escape
Honestly, I don't really think it's MMR. My MMR is probably not all that high, and I still see far too little of a lot of killers.
It's more the meta being a bit stale, killers feeling a lot of pressure to win - simply to avoid getting teabagged and gloated at and CoH making a lot of killers really frustrating.

So I was trying to learn Oni today. The main idea was to hit people, let them go and get my power consistently, and then basically only try to down people with my power to train it. In almost every game there are boons, sometimes multiple. I was trying to snuff them, but on stacked maps like Midwich this becomes impossible and they just rebless it anyways...
So how do you guys deal with them?
I can't tunnel out the person with the boon, because, firstly, sometimes I don't know who has the boon in the first place and, secondly, In a decent amount of games there are multiple of them.
The other option is to just generally always go after the injured survivor, which is kinda stressful to do and no one really enjoys it. Any tips from veteran killers? (Except for playing Plague every game :D)
Short answer - you don't.
Long answer - A team that knows where to set them up on about half the maps means that you're going to have a bad time.
The intended counterplay (snuffing) actually results in you falling behind even if you know where it is (the library on RPD and the main structure on Eyrie are good examples).
Avoid playing Wraith, Hag and other attrition based killers unless you have either instadown capability (NOED, Devour, MYC etc). Don't bother with Sloppy, it barely helps.
The major issue isn't just CoH, it's that it can cover half the map in a position where you can't really get rid of it and stacks so aggressively with other healing stuff that people can literally heal mid chase.
Instead, play killers with instadowns, anti-healing (Plague), a camping oriented kit etc. It's a perk that even survivor mains agree is brokenly OP and unhealthy for the meta.

This was a little while back, but I had been playing Pinhead a lot. Even got him to PI. Playing him for about a month and I see a YouTube video of someone summoning his chains through a wall. All the time and I didn't know you could do that. Felt really stupid after that.
What can be even funnier is going through a wall, then hooking a survivor who's busy doing box from behind - then watching them panic.
Man, I wish Cenobite was better...

I think his base kit is fun. He is one of the best designed Killers. But still somehow these days I find it VS him more boring than fun. It might be because of a) offten see best add-ons (ring + speed add-ons) that makes him in my opinion too good / low counterplay, b) too offten seen in my games, c) top meta builds on him are boring to VS (tinkerer + ruin + undying + etc.)
He's really fun to go against, the issue is that he's probably the most common killer right now thanks to one specific addon.
I enjoy facing Huntress too on the odd occasion I play survivor - I just see too many of them and it gets boring.
I miss playing against Wraith and Cenobite. Those were legit fun games.

even if this addon had a downside it would still be ridiculous, the fact nothing has been done about it is insane to me
Probably because, when BHVR look at gross kill rates, it doesn't look like a problem. You may as well ask 'why are they nerfing Marvin's Blood?'.
This game is balanced on a very weird axis.

@Canas said:
Right now you're better off with playing Pyramid Head, not only is the hitbox on his projectile longer and wider, it also doesn't give survivors a third health state & bypasses structures. And it even deals AOE damage!
Meanwhile Nemesis has an extremely slim hitbox on his tentacle which can't even bypass collision and gets easily countered by anyone simply crouching behind a structure. What reason would anyone have to play this killer?
Nemesis might have a pair of zombies stalking the map but they rarely ever prove to be useful, most of the time they tend to get stuck in the environment and their movespeed is simply too slow to make a difference. Pyramid Head meanwhile can flatout ignore and counter things like DS and flashlights due to how powerful his ability is.
Nemesis in his current state is simply a pay to lose killer. I absolutely do not comprehend how the devs could even consider nerfing him if he's in dire need of buffs to actually get a niché of his own. As long as Pyramid Head exists, Nemmy's playstyle will be always inferior.
I used to think this, but Nemmy is actually pretty decent. You just have to get really good with his whip.
I don't play him much anymore, the three reasons being:
- Awful, awful addons. Boring, weak, terrible iris.
- Zombies are janky and too easy to counter with a single flashlight.
- Some maps are inconsistent with whether you can whip through or over things.

I know she’s definitely the killer that requires the most skill, but I’m asking why that matters? Not in a negative way, but a very skilled nurse is almost inevitably unbeatable, especially with good perks and add ons. And if you’re solo que? That ######### is ROUGH. Survs have to rely on her to make mistakes if they want to win, not just on their own skill. And if she doesn’t make any mistakes then it’s often a gg.
Yes she takes a lot of skill, but once players achieve that there’s almost no solid counters. Pallets do nothing and if she has any aura reading or sound cuing perks, even if you break line of sight you’re dead. She’s highly mobile in chase, and the things put in the game like windows and pallets to slow down other high mobile killers, don’t do anything to her. Insta down and speed perks just make her even stronger. I’m not salty or mad, I just genuinely want to know why she hasn’t been nerfed very much when she’s by far the strongest killer once people are good with her. There definitely should be really strong killers that take a lot of effort to do well against, otherwise it would be really unfair for those players. I just think a good nurse can be too strong. It takes a very lucky build, map, and just play style to fair against one. Cracked nurses are something else.
I’m not really advocating for a change at the moment, I’m just curious. Plus there’s not that many nurses who have gotten that good. Maybe the number of players at that skill level isn’t high enough for a nerf? Or is it just because of the skill ceiling? Because spirit was a lot easier to play and still really strong before recently. They took a long time to nerf her despite her being no where near as hard to play. And good Spirit players could easily win a game with good perks and add ons while having little reliable counter play besides specific perks. And those stand still mind games were literally a guessing game. She was also a really high picked killer though, so the number of players that were good with her was def more than nurse.
I have played for a long time, about 2k hours, and I’ve only ever won against a great nurse a hand full of times, and it was always because she made a mistake or I got lucky, whether with the map, having a specific build, or being in a swf at the time. I don’t think I’ve ever had a four man escape against a cracked nurse though.
Because BHVR balance almost entirely around gross kill rates, which is why Wraith, Cenobite and Slinger got nerfed despite being mediocre at high MMR. Nurse has incredibly low gross kill rates.
You can't say 'we don't care about high MMR play' and then nerf a killer because of high MMR play.

So you chase someone and get them as the obsession, or chase the obsession, hook them then use distressing in tangent with your static blast to kick survivors off gens and keep then from progressing. Not great but fun and promote not tunneling.
It's fun.
For an evil variation of this, go Starstruck+Agitation instead of DMS and Nemesis.
For an even more hilarious version, replace Furtive with Monitor and use your static blast mid chase. You'll hit the entire map on smaller ones.

I honestly don't see much reason to come back until the Ringu chapter.
BHVR really seem to be missing the mark as of late.
Wraith nerfs, Cenobite nerfs, Slinger nerfs, the poorly tested and endlessly exploitable frigging snowmen and now an absolutely bizarre nerf to Twins and Nemesis. No changes to stuff like COH which even survivor mains agree is brokenly OP and genuinely unhealthy for the meta.
Was watching Otz's stream where he talked about it, and it's probably the only time in recent memory where he's been legitimately furious with the developers. And if you've managed to get Otz angry, chances are you've messed up.

I've heard some arguments that if played 'well' he can make A tier. Personally I think he's high B tier. Overall I do decent with him however as with many the lack of mobility makes him lag behind strong survivors. Your opinion?
Definitely not A tier. Factoring in his strongest addons, he's mid B.
Without them, I'd say low B/high C. The simple fact that indoors maps can basically make you not have a power is extremely frustrating, plus whatever trick is being used to solve the box without allowing you to teleport (seen it a few times, it's definitely deliberate and the closest I've gotten to an answer is 'I saw it on a streamer's Discord, but she doesn't want it to get out or it'll be changed').

It's very, very annoying when I'm playing survivor to have someone DC because 'I don't like Midwich' or 'I don't like playing against Pyramid Head'. Now we've lost the game because someone was sulking.
It's also annoying as killer. I want to win, but not like that.

So thanks again dead by daylight by continuing to reward toxic killers by penalizing survivors who don't want to be camped and tunneled. I love spending a couple hundred bucks on a game to be told how to play it, or face a timeout. How about we get to see the killer in the pre-game lobby, that way the survivor gets a say on who they want to be camped by? It's only fair huh?
No.
Just...no.
Think of it this way.
The goal of a camper is to eliminate one person ASAP. No DC penalty = more DCs = rewarding campers.
'Tunneling' isn't a thing. That's just playing killer correctly. It's your responsibility and the responsibility of your team to distribute damage.
When this game has no DC penalty, it's miserable for everyone. People DC the second they get a map/killer/start they don't like, screwing over everyone else.

Yes, DBD has taken away Bubba's masks for a good reason. So, I'll give them that.
However, the devs haven't focus on other forms of hate, more in the line of hate speech.
Every other match I get a simple message that tells me to go to forever sleep (Yes, I did censer myself). I report them and a week later I see them still in my games. Then on top of just post game because at times I hide post game chat, my steam gets filled with comments on my profile saying the same thing or worse. And some of my friends on console get the same thing, so it's not limited to PC.
Again, good job on fighting against some hate, but now you need to do it for all forms
BHVR's policy towards moderation is just so...odd.
On one hand, they remove the masks - which I am against on principle, but it's their game so I don't really get a say.
On the other hand, they've confirmed that anything short of actual threats or racial slurs in postgame are not only acceptable, but an integral part of online gaming.

Does that mean that Face-Camping is also a tool?
Watching opinions on both sides over the recent "Bubba masks" being removed. I got to thinking, most of the players hate crime targeting specific communities that occurs within this game, have one common denominator.... They all face-camp.
Understandably, this playstyle is part of the game, but I do also believe it plays a role when you factor in what goes into what these (bullying) players are using to harass individuals. I am not asking for it to be removed and I understand that the devs have stated they have acknowledged it, so I am happy about that. I simply wanted to bring light to it, because so far I feel like people are only focusing on one element of what happens when a person gets harassed in this game. It's like calling a burglar a burglar because they wore a striped shirt and a mask, but not because they broke into your home and stole your all your stuff.
Just to be clear. I am part of the LGBTQ community and having been harassed in the past, I completely sympathize with the players (victims) who have had to experience such horrifying behavior, and it sickens me that we still have to witness it today. I know that we will probably never truly get to a point where we can stomp it out completely, but I do believe that as a gaming community we have the power to be kind to each other, and love each other enough that we can make this a place where everyone can feel welcomed and not have to fear being a part of it because of who they are, where they come from or what skin color they are.
I'm...so confused.
Okay, firstly: facecamping is not a hate crime. People usually facecamp to win, because it's a very powerful strategy right now.
Secondly, by this logic, you'd have to get rid of everything that could potentially be used like this. Teabagging, flashlight flicking, nodding - the works. The fact that you only focused on facecamping makes me think that this is more about your own frustrations with facecamping.
Thirdly...what did I just read?

Just out of curiosity for the killers who chase one survivor the whole match while all of the generators are popping, how is it satisfying to play this way?
I've been in many matches where the killer will chase me most if not all of the match and end up getting one kill because all the generators are done and the other survivors escape.
Even if I get rescued after one or two hooks, the killer keeps coming after me despite the generators being done allowing all the other survivors to escape. Thus resulting in one kill at the end.
I'm just wondering how this strategy or playstyle is satisfying for someone who plays killer? I'm not a killer main but it seems like a boring way to play. I would think that someone who plays killer would attempt to maximize hooks and kills in a match, but maybe I'm wrong after experiencing this over and over again.
Learning when not to commit to a chase and when to peel off is very difficult.
There's also an ego aspect in play. Giving up on a chase feels like losing sometimes.
Are you familiar with The Gambler's Fallacy?

My SoloQ survival rate went from 40-45% to 15-20% ever since SBMM had been enabled. Either there's a person going down ever 15 seconds to a cracked Blight or its a baby killer that gets looped and maybe gets a hook if he is lucky. And as a Killer, it's the two extremes again. Absolute navy seal team with microsecond perfect DH and knowing when I will/will not respect pallet on any given loop. Then it's back to poor baby survivors hiding behind trees in the following lobby. It's almost like there's the Max MMR and the Min MMR with zero space in between.
SBMM can be weird. I will say that if you want to compare the two in terms of Otz in particular, look at his older 'streak' videos under ranks and his attempts under SBMM. He got 100 wins on pre-rework plague in a row with no addons. It took him ages to get 20 wins as Cenobite.

I'm not doing either. Having a survivor unable to look behind or keep track of a killer clearly isnt otz skill.
I also stated otz is very good and verses strong steams. I'm just confused why he had such a weak link in the games I watched so i wondered luck or SBMM issues/changes
Oh. I was just pointing out how one guy invented a rumor by claiming 'there's a rumor that x' and now everyone's talking about that rumor. Just the nature of gossip.
I watch Otz stream on occasion. He plays against very good people. Keep in mind that he has somewhere between 7 and 8 thousand hours in the game, most of that on killer. There just aren't that many people of that level to pair him against.
I'll say that even as an intermediate, I get bizarre games. SWFs with 10k hours combined against my 400. Completely new players with sub 20 hours. Right after each other. I suspect that lobby dodges cause this to happen, as the system basically just grabs the next person in line to fill the missing spot.

- I Prestige every time I get to level 50 so I can reset my stuff and see what I get from scratch. I like playing with whatever the bloodweb gives me and see how I do, it forces me to try perks and add-ons I might otherwise not consider.
- Doctor’s “I want them to hear me coming” build. Distressing, Unnerving Presence, Overwhelming Presence, Coulrophopbia for instance. Sometimes Overcharge in there, maybe Startstruck if I get it unlocked on him. It’s just fun having a massive terror radius on Doctor. 😄
- Builds with all five totems Hexed at the start of the match, such as Devour Hope, Haunted Grounds, Retribution and Undying. There’s lots of combos, but Haunted Ground adds that extra lit totem in the beginning so it’s kind of mandatory here (plus it’s really effective with survivors who cleanse and bless every hex they see)
- The “Blind Me Bro” build. Lightborn, Enduring, Brutal Kick, Agitation for instance. Basically if they stun you with a pallet and go for a blind it’s pretty much a free hit since you break the pallet super fast and can see their aura if they try and run. Agitation is so that if they try and blind you while carrying someone you move faster than them and get a hit there. You can also replace Agitation with Fire Up or Spirit Fury if you want to break the pallets even faster, or replace Enduring with Mad Grit if you want to really go after people while carrying someone.
- A little similar to above, I’ve beeb meaning to someday try a “Carry On My Wayward Son” build which focuses on things that happen while you carry survivors. Thrilling Tremors, Agitation, Mad Grit, Starstruck for example. So you down someone, carry them, get gen information and a bit of slowdown from Tremors, and if you have another survivor nearby get to chase and hit them with Starstruck potentially.
If you want to try another 'wait, what exactly is happening?' build, run Plaything on Demogorgon with the Lighter and Cat addons. Basically, permanently blind, permanently oblivious survivors.

So the thing is Jill wasn't even hiding all game she was on her last hook she did well that game even healed the guy I left on the ground and unhooked the guy after he tryed to sell her so from that moment Jill I decider Jill was free to do what she want she is going to escape. So after I managed to kill one of the other guys and had the last guy on hook she opened the doors came to the hook. I was saying no so she said goodbay and left. After the game the rage was hard in chat and the swf guys said I can get banned for teaming up with survivors and they are reporting me.
So is that true is it forbidden to have mercy on some survs or are they just salty a holes. (sorry long post)
What you did? Absolutely fine. A killer is free to let survivors go or to kill everyone. The devs have reaffirmed this time and time again.
What they did? Absolutely not fine. They were actually working with you to try and sandbag the Jill. Report them.

First of all I love otz, I dont believe for a second hed lower mmr of stream. I also believe hes a very good killer.
With that out the way, I watched the first few games of 0perks AFK video as it's all anyone talked about.
Now I only watched the first 4/5 but I noticed he had a questionable and weak link survivor in the games.
For example huntress he had a meg who didn't know where he was and even gets hit at a gym then vaults into him all at the same gym (0 awareness)
Then there was a David who never looked behind him (trapper game I think) and he wastes god pallet and goes down and never looks where otz is at.
Now I know otz verses good players, but how are these people versing someone who wins so much? Is he just lucky or has SBMM changed?
I ask if SBMM has changed as I haven't played in a month, other games catch my eye but I like to keep up to date on things. So I never got someone that weak as killer, and all the survivors I got was all meta.
So has SBMM become more chill over time? Was he just lucky? Is it something else like day/time? Honestly curious.
Edit: btw all his videos showed me was you need a weak link thats clearly below your skill and play in an unfun way (camp, tunnel and slug) and you have a change of winning. Personally I hate that mentality, wish you was encouraged and rewarded for playing in a more fun way. Afterall chases are the most fun part for either role imo, dont wanna slug, tunnel and camp
Ugh.
This is an example of how one person claiming that a rumor exists immediately causes a rumor to exist.
Otz gets really good people and some mediocre people. When he plays to win, he plays hard. He also loses plenty. EU servers have very odd matchmaking sometimes too.

Watch Tru3s attempt - he only got a kill rate of about 1.3.
And some of his matches were incredibly quick with 4e.
I'll have to watch his series, but I've seen a fair amount of Tru3 games and - while he's an excellent player - he does tend to play a lot 'nicer', and also tilts quite fast.

the only chapters worth getting (imo) would probably have to be Bubba, Hellraiser (if the nft thing doesnt bother you), Portrait or murder, Mikaelas chapter (forget the name), and Halloween
Bubba for bbq, hes also fun to play (and, you’ll be getting 6k shards soon for the removal of his masks)
hellraiser for Plaything & deadlock. Pinhead can also be fun if you like ranged killers.
portrait of murder because of the new scourge hook, its a very good perk. plus artist is a great killer, and jonah has 2 really good perks (unbreakaboon and overcome)
Mikaela for… obvious reasons.
and finally, halloween- ds, object, and save the best for last. Myers is meh.
In terms of power, Myers is meh.
In terms of fun...I really enjoy him.

My point of contention with, I guess I'll call it the tru3 agenda, is that the whole premise is trying a playstyle the game isn't intended to be balanced around and still using said playstyle to draw balance conclusions from it. He's basically saying "I don't want to have to play well at a macro level to win". Game management is 75% of killer skill at a high level when everyone has good mechanics.
If I recall, it was one part of a wider experiment. He, Otz and anyone doing this first did killers with the meanest addons, offerings and perks they could think of, then putting themselves at a disadvantage to simulate an absolute 'worst case' scenario.
It's not a scientifically sound research project or anything, but establishing the margins is actually a good first step for this sort of thing.

I want to see who here thinks which DLC is worth the money because recently it's been getting more and more obvious that certain chapters are damn near worthless.
And I mean it for both sides, not just one side.
Also Since it has been announced how many of you think with how the game is now feel that the ring dlc will be worth the 5-8 dollars.
If I was new, I'd grab Bubba (for BBQ), Artist because I like playing her, and also for PR and Penti, Cenobite for Plaything and Myers because I have a lot of fun on him, but also for STBFL.
In terms of licensed killers worth buying to play, Demo would top my list but sadly you can't buy him anymore. Myers is a close second, but purely because SM is so much fun.
Out of the rest, Nemesis is fun but janky and way too common for my liking, Pyramid Head is great but has awful addons and perks, Cenobite is just a touch too frustrating after his nerfs and Ghostface...I'll wait for the rework.

Does no one play this guy anymore?
Jake?
I see him plenty.
He tends to be cocky, teabag me after vaulting then turn, walk into a trap and DC.
I don't think I've ever seen a Felix, and I can count the Tapps I've seen on both hands.

Those aren't meme addons. Especially Vanity.
Scratched is absolutely meme.
Vanity is either meme, or near-as-dammit. It's far worse than Plague's 'earn more' addon, which is both a brown and genuinely decent.

Not really, i haven't played more than 10 survivor games since release and 80% or more of my dailies are still killer or can be rerolled to killer.
Ditto.
I play maybe 80/20, and maybe 3/4 of my dailies are killer based.
If only they were killers I like playing. I swear, when it's not Nurse, it's Blight. And when it's not Blight, it's Legion.

It is capitalism. I am not frustrated at all. Almost everything in the world is done for money. At least I can understand what is going on and why the game is in the state that it is.
The core gameplay is great but the balance is crap because the devs keep hitting the "release OP item the nerf it 2 months later" button. You wanna know why Trickster's perks are some of the best in the game? I will give you a hint, it's not because they sold well initially.
Yes, sure. But you can't get milk without feeding the cows, and without players that aren't at least somewhat satiated, you can't get them to buy your stuff.
Also...let's take a look at the recent killers. Keeping in mind that licensed killers are the ones you need to pay real money for (I always float at least 10k shards and never really have to try to keep them).
PH: Useless perks.
Blight: Undying was good on release. It's meh now. BF was terrible until quite recently. DG...I don't think this was ever that good.
Twins: Useless perks.
Trickster: One decent but gimmicky perk, two mediocre perks.
Nemesis: Ditto.
Cenobite: Ditto.
Artist: The first 'new' killer with actual meta disruption perks in ages.
Also, out of the top tier of killers, the only remotely new one is Blight.

That's my nickname for Vanity Mirror Myers. It's a play off the old Burger King Myers with vanity mirror and tombstone. The joke was that He was slower than survivors because he ate so much Burger King. He's not slower than them anymore because he started eating healthy... So... Salad Myers.
It's... Maybe dumb.
That's actually pretty funny :).

Honestly I'm just a mixture of sad and annoyed that Vanity Mirror finally became not a meme the same patch that CoH and Shadow Step came out.
Those two together just ruin what Salad Myers is good at. Spooky Myers too honestly.

No, i'm pretty sure I know what both are. Do you think these devs are looking out for the players? I would argue they look out for themselves.
Not that it's a revelation, but the dogged loyalty and ignorance of the situation by people like yourself perpetuate the situation. The game is unbalanced, rigged to #########, run by devs who blatantly release overpowered characters/items/perks to boost sales. But unfortunately there is no real competition for the genre so they can get away with it. A snap of the fingers and it can all change though.
It...sounds like you maybe need to take a break. If you really are this frustrated with the game, a holiday could well do you some good.

Asking for a friend, of course
My friend plays this game every day and usually once in 2 days meets certain squads that are not particularly enjoyable to play against. These people usually try to abuse certain game mechanics like locker saves, while being quite toxic in-game and most of the time in the endgame chat. Sometimes there are flashlight macros, that kinda deem the game unenjoyable.
My friend thought of 2 ways to deal with these squads and preserve her/his mental health, by afk'ing the match to end it asap.
Is this something my friend can get banned for, or by pressing "ready" you are basically forced to play the match?
Technically speaking? Yes. It counts as non participation.
Realistically speaking? No. Not unless you are basically botting out dozens of games every night to farm shards.
Usually, in matches I don't want to play out, I'll set my own objectives. 'Kill x survivor who teabagged me' is a favorite. Another is 'hook everyone at least once'. I'll AFK matches out where people are deliberately stalling the game out, hacking or playing hide and seek.
@dugman said:

Yeah I haven’t come across a group using an exploit to keep the match going indefinitely against me yet but I’m sure that’s annoying.
Not really exploits, but I see the following being used like this.
- Some maps have really bad hook spawns, where with a single offering and a well placed sabo, you can almost permanently cause an unhookable deadzone over a pretty wide area of the map. Combine this with boons, bodyblocking, flashlights and you can basically stall a game out forever if you just 99% the final gen.
- Two people with flashlights can hold the match hostage until they are depleted by abusing dual lockers.
- People can hide in lockers and around the map, while avoiding AFK crows. On some maps it's almost impossible to find them.

I just wanted to throw the question out there to start a discussion regarding old Ruin: Undying. With the controversy surrounding COH (Circle of Healing) at the moment regarding its level of power I just want to see if a return of the old Ruin: Undying would be a way to effectively balance the power of both boons and hexes.
Just interested in feedback regarding if it would be a good idea at this point in time.
Old Undying? Yes, definitely. The issue was Ruin, and that could have been adjusted. Nerfing Undying was a huge nerf to all hex builds, even the bad ones.
Old Ruin? No. That just wouldn't work now, and it would make Ruin incredibly good against newbies and utterly useless against anyone experienced.

There's a few problems:
- BHVR rarely admits mistakes for a long time. Look at the old hook struggle mechanic, and how long it took for them to change it in the face of people saying 'This literally hurts'.
- A number of Survivors claiming voice comms is 'not that powerful'. To which I call BS. It's literally the only difference between SWF and SoloQ.
- Survivors claiming they 'don't want people screaming on mic'. But, you know; mute options exist?
- Survivors claiming it's impossible because of language differences. Ignoring TF2, and Overwatch, and CS:GO, and literally every single team-based game.
So it won't happen. It SHOULD, but it won't.
Yeah, there are other examples, like the old flashlight stuns, OoO and more. This is actually really common for devs, and is often called 'developer arrogance'.
@Barbarossa2020 said:
And if you don't use a hex build?
Instead of messing with ruin, just make kicking gens meaningful. And/or so you cant 0.1 sec repair to stop the regression.
Yeah, a lot of people have suggested forcing at least some sort of commitment to stop regression. For...years now.

Then nerf CoH, don't try to balance bullshit with more bullshit.
Everyone and their dog agrees that COH needs a nerf, and if BHVR were going to nerf it they would be doing it in 5.5.
As they aren't, that needs to be the new balance metric.

We have not numbers but we know they are gonna give more rewards for grades. So what should be rewards for highest grade?
For me;
Iridescent 1 as Survivor = 500k Bp + 1.000 Shards.
Iridescent 1 as Killer = 500k Bp + 1.000 Shards
Total = 1 million BP + 2K Shards.
I'd like to see the BP gains doubled, and some cosmetics for hitting Iri 1.
@OpenX said:
As if they will ever give you shards outside a holiday event. That is against profits.
Grades don't matter anymore since you cannot lose them. It's how much you played for the month rather than how well.
Uh, I think you're getting shards and cells mixed up.
Shards are earned passively while playing. Cells are the RMT currency.
