    hey,

The Internet is a meeting place for people from all walks of life and all age groups. After a busy day, there are many who just want to sit down and play a game.

It's only human that sometimes people take their pent-up anger or frustration from work home with them. Unfortunately, it sometimes happens that this frustration transfers to the game and you give it free rein.

The so-called "identity-based hate" is particularly depressing. This is no longer about insulting a person because of a supposed "bad style of play" or "lack of skills," but it becomes personal.

That's why I'm glad that the developers of DBD are cracking down on this and punishing people when they get personal. There are also many sadists who enjoy hurting another person, even if it's just a stupid comment. That's when you play fair as a killer and still get a stupid comment at the end of a match. I'll show you a screen from one of my matches I recently played against a 4-player SWF.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/7J3K6FZZWB5T/20220101175831-1.jpg

I played fair....neither tunneled, nor camped....and instead of a simple "gg" .... there comes another stupid comment like that. Honestly, no one needs such a sadist and you don't have to put up with something like that. If you ask me, these people only feel good when others feel bad.

"Don't feed the trolls" is a saying I'm sure many of us have heard before. If it were up to me, end-game chat should be removed from the game altogether. That will cause less tickets. My tip: just turn it off and don't pay attention to people like that.

Has anyone else had sadistic experiences? Let's talk about it if you want

    greetings

A while back, BHVR came out and basically said that anything short of hatespeech or death threats in postgame chat was perfectly acceptable, and that they consider 'smack talk' an essential part of online gaming.

I really disagree with them on this (and think that it's going to come back and bite them) but it is what it is.

Usually I'll just keep postgame chat off unless I want to say something after a really fun game, or unless I won (I don't mind sore losers, but gloaters get under my skin).

Two games which I will always remember for the endgame chat.

First one was a Felix mad he'd died because he didn't follow the person away from the Huntress and instead ran into her. He then went on to blame my boyfriend, who'd killed himself on hook earlier because her ping was... Now I won't say she was playing from Mars but if it was under 400 I'd be shocked. He's very, very mad and brings out the good ol "Nazi cuntbag" (wasn't blurred by the filter, btw). Bf has moved on so it's just me trying to patiently explain that it's a literal video game but no, bf is German and therefore he's a Nazi. Obviously.

Second game, different Huntress, really didn't like me. No tbagging but I did get a couple flashlight saves and along with my bf we basically carried the game (I got chased, he did gens, honestly dream team right there). Now she got... Mildly annoyed in the endgame chat and acted like any reasonable person would. Instead of voicing their grievances, we got plenty of hashtags followed by "SUICIDE! NOW".

It was kinda funny looking back.

Also!! Actually just remembered a third but can't be asked to edit my above comment as I'm writing it. This one kid got very annoyed because I dared... Play Claudette. Mhm. Okay. Facecamping tunneling nodding etc, the usual toxic racist behaviour, but because my friends are gods and none of us care about escaping, they tagteam up and save me off the hook and out the gate. Now, once more acting like a reasonable person, this killer then goes through my previous Steam aliases to find my Twitch account, watches part of a VOD, only to then start insulting my appearance pretty... Horribly, actually.

So yeah this is why the endgame chat shouldn't be a thing

I've had some absolutely ridiculous ones. Stuff like 'GG EZ get cancer', 'lol bad noob uninstall games full' and the like. This game really does bring out the worst in people.

Then again, you do get the funny ones.

    'OMG scrub just play normally'

    Me: 'Play normally?'

    'Use a real killer'.

(I ran my gimmicky 'blinder' Demogorgon build. I've actually had this one multiple times. I guess people just want everyone to play Blight, Huntress and Nurse with Ruin and Pop)

    'Stupid camper'.

Me: 'What? When did I camp?'

'I was in locker and you just stood there, ur camper'.

    (Killer exists = camping)

    'JAJAJAJAJA'

    'get trolled scrub'

Me: 'You died at 5 gens mate'

    'Oh sorry'

    'Thought you were someone else'

    (wat)

'So much tunnel, get ebola die baddie'

Me: 'You seem like a nice person'

'Just let people heal next time'

(They kept trying to heal under the hook, I'd immediately use a nearby portal and shred them)

    'So much tryhard'.

    Me: 'Huh?'

'Pinhead such a crutch killer l2p'.

(This was post nerf Pinhead by the way)

    'Report killer for hacking'.

    Me: 'How was I hacking?'.

    'You know what you doing'

    Me: 'Nope, no idea'.

'Demo was removed, you can't play him anymore hacker everyone report hacker plz'.

(This one was a head scratcher)

    'Hacker reported'

    Me: 'What?'

'So sad you have to use wallhacks to win'

Me: 'Check my addons'. (I was using Plague's iri that shows you the aura of puking people, and nobody wanted to cleanse).

    'Get banned cheater'.

(When you never play killer and have no idea how they work)

    And my all time favorite:

    'BG cheater'

    Me: 'How was I cheating?'

    'Popping gens hack'

    Me: 'Zuh?'

'You weren't kicking them but they explode'

    Me: 'Surge and PR'

    'What'

Me: 'Two killer perks that can hit gens when I hook or down someone'.

'So unfair should be bannable imho'.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Tunneling is certainly an over used term. I've seen a lot of people who stream get off hook go and start a gen. Killer chases someone else and loses them, finds the person last off hook on a gen and the person cries "I'm being tunneled".

The only thing I call tunneling and that makes me sigh is if I'm hooked early and as soon as my feet touch the ground killer goes for me again. Unhooked a second time and the killer goes right for me again. Don't get me wrong I don't frown on this playstyle. Nor do I get mad at the killer. Makes sense to go after the injured party over someone healthy who they could lose in a chase. It just makes me sigh because I know I'm getting bugger all BPs.

There are times when I've been camped (especially when you see them running back and forth looking for someone hiding close by) and I can see no one is coming for the rescue. I wish I could tell the killer no one is coming for me might as well go look for someone.

I'll generally proxy camp when I hook someone, then can't find anyone to chase. People get really salty if you don't give them free unhooks, and it's a mentality that people need to shake off.

I won't tunnel someone off hook unless it's a really difficult game or they've annoyed me, but I'll certainly try to eliminate someone early if the chance arises. It's your and your team's responsibility to protect you if you are vulnerable, not mine. My job is to kill you.

  • @Zboard said:

Most of my matches are miserable, why force me to stay?

    Sigh.

    Okay.

When you DC, you ruin the match for 4 other people. The killer now gets less BP and it doesn't feel good when you win because someone decided to screw their teammates over. The other 3 survivors now have a nearly impossible task ahead of them, especially if you DC early.

If most of your matches are miserable, I suggest you find another game.

Usually, when people say 'I DC if I'm not having fun' what they mean is 'I DC when it feels like I'm not going to get an easy win'.

Frankly, the DC penalty is way too lenient in this game.

    @ThiccBudhha said:

The DC penalty literally exists to keep people like you from ruining the game, that is why.

If anything, they really need a 10 minute surrender to address the only valid gameplay related reason for leaving, being held hostage.

I like this idea a lot.

It happens on killer too - I'll get a team that 99%'s the final gen and then plays hide and seek, or stalls the game out with sabos, dual locker flashlights etc. In these situations, I generally just go AFK, but it would be nice to have a 'okay you win, onto the next game' button.

I do think that it would need a limitation (like...once every 10 games or something, maybe more) to stop this from being an easy way to smurf though.

  • @Myla said:

I'm genuinely curious. I play this game like 60% killer and 40% survivor with it doing a flip recently with the addition of boons and just started playing Survivor heavily. But I would say most of my games had none of this stuff. It's also the reason why I started making topics about how DS is overrated garbage in high MMR. Of course there's some "Camping" or "Tunneling" in some games but honestly it could be attributed to the game being on EGC that this is fair play at this point. There's also the fact that your random teammates is doing a godawful saves and just encouraged the killer to patrol the surroundings instead which I think is also fair play.

I also met a friend when I was looking for randoms to play the game with since it's boring doing Solo queue for years and he throws around this terms around willy nilly and I'll be scratching my head midgame when the Killer isn't even doing those stuff, Just stayed near where he got hooked and started doing generators. It also didn't help that he didn't a good job pathing himself properly and just showed blatant disrespect to the killer because he has DS on and BT. It's just mind boggling.

I also watched some random streamers on Twitch and seems like this is just the mindset going around. It's like you have to run a non existent Make your choice otherwise you're either of those terms.

By the way I do think Camping and Tunneling do genuinely exist in the game but I'm starting to have doubt whether it applies or not in some cases.

    Hmm.

    • DS is an odd perk. It's real power comes into play when you don't equip it, as killers will often still behave as if you had it.
    • 'Tunneling' is basically code for 'you played the game tactically'. Eliminating 1 survivor ASAP is absolutely crucial. Tunneling directly off hook is a little dirty, but otherwise - if I see two people, I'm going for the one with more hooks.
    • 'Camping' is only a problem when someone is straight up facecamping.
    • I've been accused of camping/tunneling for: Attacking people while healing. Waiting for someone to leave a locker. Hitting someone who's trying to unhook the second I hook. Defending totems, Pig boxes and fountains. Grabbing people off gens. Defending exit gates. I no longer care.
    • I won't facecamp outside of EOGC or someone teabagging me, but I'll absolutely try to get rid of one person as soon as I can.
    • It is odd how killers are expected to behave by some sort of honor code, but survivors aren't.

I've tried this and it doesn't. It works until the med kit depleats and then continues as default.

    edit: autocorrect

Tested it...maybe 4 days ago and it still wasn't fixed. Either it got shadowfixed or maybe you moved out of CoH range/it got snuffed.

  • @Leachy_Jr said:

    Thank you.

Or at least rebalance it, so survivors don't have 4 godly buildings to run to and the only viable killer on that map being nurse.

Oh yea also delete/rebalance Circle of healing while you're at it.

EDIT: oh yea and RPD while ur at it. In fact swamp as well.

There are a few maps that need a rework.

    Badham is one of them.

Stop thinking that breakable walls solves everything and just remove some of the silly windows, and increase hook density while you are at it.

Least favorite thing : even if boons & MMR appeared !

What I'm expecting for 2022 : More small balance changing (ex: like they did with plague to make her smoother), and I hope Sadako will be a really spooky killer

    Your turn now !

So I must be old because if thats normal than that seems crazy to me. Now I'm not asking for all of your ages, but what do you think the average age is?

    I'd reckon around 25.

I'm pushing 50, and I'm still having fun.

Based on some on the behavior I've seen in game you would think the average age is 12. I'll be 40 this year.

Baby killers always tend to wear base game default outfits.

I've got almost 400 hours, and I still prefer them a lot of the time.

    • Cosmetics often increase my visibility (Hag in particular).
    • Many of them are just...ugly.
    • People tend to underestimate me initially, whereas if I play something fancy they sweat from word one.
  • @SvarturSteinn said:

Back in September I made a thread asking people what is your personal favorite killer perk that is as popular to you as Survivor will run Dead Hard.

    Back then I generally always would include BBQ and Chili on a killer I didn't have all my perks unlocked on yet but now that we are passed that and new perks have dropped since then I decided to update my all time favorite perk of 2021;

    No Way Out

When it comes to value, this perk just works. The majority of my games it always has given me that little breath of air at the end of a match to get that one last kill in.

Tempted to say Pain Resonance, as it's probably the most 'perfect' perk they've ever made (satisfying, powerful, interesting interactions with other perks, skillful, has counterplay), but I'll go with Surge.

    • Herding survivors to just the right spot to fire off a juicy one is brilliant.
    • Extremely satisfying to use.
    • Free.
    • Requires clever decision making.
    • Allows me freedom in that I don't have to kick as many gens.

    Runner up: Plaything.

    • I love stealth.
    • Excellent tertiary pressure.
    • Interesting interactions with other perks/kits.
    • Can be used as an info perk too.
    • Enables Penti (especially once boons eventually get their nerf).

    @GoodBoyKaru said:

PGTW. I know it's come under fire recently for being too ineffecient and there are better alternatives, but there's something just so satisfying about watching all that progress vanish in a cluster of sparks that I can't stop.

    Honourable mention to Surge Jolt.

Pop is still an excellent perk. It's a bit clunkier than PR/Surge/Ruin but has a higher yield. I love combining it with Oppression (if Oppression ever gets it's cooldown improved, I'll probably run this combo a lot).

  • @IlliterateGenocide said:

Of course these could be also down to different factors these are just my top 3 determining factors

    1. Finding a gen bein worked on and kicking it before trying to get a hit on survivors. (unless POP I guess)
    2. They Double back way to much
    3. They fall for a window fake
    4. They don't try to get hits that are almost guaranteed

I think if we notice the killer is sorta new or having a hard time not to make there time more miserable.

Of course its not ur job to make it more fun for the other side.

    Eh.

    1. Yes, it's a very difficult priority to learn. The tutorial makes it seems essential.
    2. I find myself doing this sometimes. Gotta go Crazy Ivan to catch people.
    3. To be fair, even very experienced players fall for this sometimes.
    4. Yeah.

    I'd also add

    • Misses a lot of attacks.
    • Overcommits to unwinnable chases.
    • Camps (it sounds weird, but it's such an obviously effective tactic, and new players might not know that it goes counter to the etiquette of the game).
    • Gets 360'd a lot.
    • Always vaults or breaks the pallet.
    • Spends a lot of time waiting for 1 gen to regress.
  • If you even have a tiny bit of medkit remaining, the entire heal while in CoH range will retain the full medkit bonus.

  • @IronKnight55 said:

    No. That's kinda weird...

I genuinely think this Tech is near useless and doesn't work on majority of survivors in the game. In fact I consider myself a really good survivor but I have never seen a killer do this tech at all. Probably because I never noticed it in the first place, I don't specifically look at the killers tiny head tilt mid chase. I would assume that is the same for most players here and think you're having a placebo thinking you baited dead hard with that head tilt...Maybe it does work on like two survivors in your hundreds of matches....

It works maybe 1 time in a hundred, but it costs me nothing to try.

I have seen it work, but I have more like fanning my power with Doctor or Cenobite.

I'm remarkably pleasured to see how interestingly people can react.

    1. I'm not a person who is using forum, this place is a nightmare and people here are trolling
    2. BNP is not strong anymore, hence why the usage dropped down solidly
    3. You cannot heal midchase with CoH, because if it's within the range, you will hear it as a killer and snuff it most likely. Will you lose the chase? Maybe. But you will lose their precious time they could have spent on generators. More information can be also found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzeblKQSYN4&t=66s
    4. OoO is not an excellent perk, it is remarkably horrendous perk which nobody uses anymore. The aura reading is situational and won't apply in chase as you would intend to. It's also generally not useful to see the killer if you are on furthest generator, because you can hear the killer isn't anywhere close to you and stealth killers completely negate the effect. DS is still abusable, but not as abusable as before. Now, you don't activate it each game, hence why people no longer run it as much, but I never implied it's a bad perk
    5. If you say there are 2 killer-sided maps, you are generally not playing this game at all. All maps are dependant on the killer itself, for example you will be more than pleasured to see Coldwind map on Billy than Nurse. This argument is completely irrelevant.
    6. Very bold statement, you cannot negate "powerful loops" and make them balanced at all times. These loops have been drastically changed troughout the years regardless.
    7. Not as strong as it was previously, vividly didn't pay attention on what I implied.
    8. I have never mentioned a single point regarding DH, completely out of point and irrelevant. I have mentioned that Exhaustion perks have been nerfed globally.
    9. So what? It was changed, thus this argument is again irrelevant.

For the last arguments you've mentioned, I'm not even going to address them. Tierlists are tremendously subjective topic, hence why I am not going to address it.

I'm sorry, but you are just straight up wrong here.

    1. It's still pretty sus. If you really are that experienced, I don't see how you could hold some of these opinions. I have my own suspicions here, but I'll keep them to myself.
    2. BNP is still extremely strong. Where has the usage dropped down? I'd love to see your numbers, because I still see it plenty.
    3. ...No, that's not how CoH works. Firstly, CoH has a huge range and survivors will try to put it in an upstairs area or somewhere hard to snuff. You absolutely can heal with it mid chase, you can get the heal down to 4 seconds or thereabouts.
    4. I still see OoO being used when I play, and when top level streamers play you see it too. The reason you don't see it as much is that it's no longer permanent maphacks for a SWF and there are tons of survivor perks that are better than it.
    5. Nurse is irrelevant to this discussion. This entire game is not balanced around one killer. That's like saying 'this game is killer sided because of Alchemist's Ring). Again, go watch Otz's video on this, he breaks this down pretty perfectly.
    6. Just because something was broken before doesn't mean it's not still imbalanced now.
    7. 'Insane nerf' implies that it's bad. If something gets an 'insane nerf' and is still very good, then it probably needed an insaner nerf. You don't see BL as much any more because of the Dead Hard buff.
    8. Yes, things change all the time. Keys were honestly long overdue. I really don't get what you are complaining about.

Finally - if you want to disagree with one of the most well known and experienced players of the game, then you'll need to do better than 'hes wrong because I sed so'. He wasn't speaking subjectively. He was speaking from thousands and thousands of hours of killer play time, numbers provided by the developers and consultation with other experienced players.

So I wanna use the blight serum and it doesn't let me it's an add-on I spent bloodpoints on I get it's an event item but it makes more sense if it's an offering like survivors can use all the event items why can't killers use the blight serum.

Probably because it barely worked properly during the event, and because it was crazily easy to stockpile. I've got 50+ on some killers.

Thats 2 minutes survivors arnt doing gens then that's already a win. I also find that most the time they just get on a gen because it was to long to wait out.

Dl is there to stop multiple gens from popping back to back. Imo it works really well

No way out gives you time after the gens are done to clean up.

Hey if they are working for you then more power to you. All I'm saying is maybe try the build for a couple of matches.

Corrupt, deadlock,no way out, whatever you want(normally BBQ for me)

    Is it?

Honestly, if they are hiding it's a wash, just a longer game.

Previously, people would try to brute force it - but survivors seem to be getting savvy to it now. Sometimes they'll set up boons, do bones etc. but often they'll just sit in a bush.

I know a lot of people enjoy Deadlock - it's a decent perk, I'm just not a fan of it.

NWO is a brilliant perk. I don't run it because I like the power to give the occasional duo gate - especially if they stuck a game with an early DC out or were really fun.

    Happy New Year everyone btw.

He's getting a rework. Hopefully a Plague level 'wow, this killer feels really good to play now' and not a Pig level 'we moved some addons around, look grateful' level rework.

Keep in mind that his janky-ness cuts both ways. Sometimes you'll be revealed by absolutely nothing.

  • @BlighTown said:

Bubba is my all time favorite killer especially because he denies Circle of Healing. Any tips and addons I should use on Bubba Sawyers?

    A few tricks:

    • Bamboozle is essentially a requirement on him. Vaults are your greatest enemy.
    • Learn to time your 'taps' to get the most out of each charge.
    • The fewer charges consumed, the shorter the tantrum state.
    • If someone jumps into a locker, causing you to tantrum, spin your camera around rapidly. This makes it very difficult to time exiting (and looks hilarious).
    • Tinkerer is another incredible perk on him. Plaything+Penti is another.
    • He can get rid of pallets extremely fast.
    • Sometimes it's better to take an M1. Don't overcommit to sawing.

I just had to make an account to talk about this because I have noticed damn near every killer I go against is camping for some reason, it’s not even “haha insidious bubba” anymore it’s an actual issue where I’m waiting 20 minutes for a match that ends in 10 minutes with me watching the killer stare at me die. I know there’s a penalty to being in close proximity to hooks for killers but it’s nowhere near enough. I don’t know if it has to do with the new mmr but for some reason killers have started to think it’s somehow better to just stand there instead of actually playing the damn game

tl;dr insidious trickster is the new meta

    Define camping.

Facecamping? Yeah, that's annoying. It's also pretty rare, outside of the always fun basement bubbas. The devs have acknowledged the issue but it's a knotty one to fix in a way that doesn't break other stuff.

Proxy camping? It's entirely legitimate. You aren't supposed to be guaranteed a free unhook.

  • 'Oh well' doesn't really click with that though. It's a phrase representing a nonchalant response to a negative development, and also an awful pun.

Was rather proud of that one actually.

  • It's a dad joke.

It's not supposed to be funny :).

Hint: 'Oh well' is a pun on the story of Ringu.

Just making another ticket to raise more awareness on this.

This is not a balance issue, it's game breaking.

    Unacceptable.

This is a bug that's been here since...release if I'm not mistaken. It's likely almost impossible to fix.

Like seriously can we talk about this?

What was that 4 secs maybe?

Yup. With CoH and the right perks/medkits, you can get a heal around that time. Plus there is an exploit involved which makes it even worse.

I've had people heal up in the space of a pallet stun.

Deadlock corrupt makes sure you don't lose 3 gens in the first chase. Then Deadlock shuts done the most done gen for 30 seconds.

CI - Works well maybe 3/4 of the time. The other quarter, the enemy team basically just hides and waits it out, and all it does is drag the game out. It's a strong perk, for sure.

Deadlock - Works well maybe 1/2 of the time. The other half, either the other team have multiple gens half done, or slam solitary gens out really fast. What happens some of the time is that a gen will get locked at 95%, then they'll get another 2 gens to 65%, then suddenly 3 gens go almost simultaneously and suddenly they are opening the gate.

I'm glad they are working for you though!

    Right now I go between Starstruck+Agitation+PR+Discordance/BBQ, Plaything+Penti+Surge+STBFL, Pop+Ruin+Penti+Devour Hope or PR+Agitation+Surge+Tinkerer/BBQ.

  • @BlighTown said:

I never experienced such a long queue before. I had waited 15 minutes in queue as a survivor but the queue is 2 minutes whenever I play killer.

    A combination of things likely.

    • MMR. Very high or low survivor MMRs can have long queues.
    • Time of day.
    • A deficit of killers, particularly at certain MMRs.
    • Killers leaving the game due to frustrations around balance and survivor BM.

I know that my survivor queues are around 2-3 minutes at peak (at least) and I've had them exceed 10 minutes before offpeak. They took a dip during the Christmas event, but are back up now.

  • @POISONOUS_OXIDE said:

Has anyone noticed that one of the exit gates, the killer can stand in the door way and block the survivors from getting out? Just played a match where I got block from leaving and didn’t have time to make it to the other gate, I think this needs a change lol

RPD has this problem in a lot of regards.

There are some hooks where body blocking on both sides is very frustrating to deal with.

Hook spawns overall can be so random that certain spots can be very difficult to hook from as is.

In regards to this specific issue:

    • Move to the other side.
    • If he follows, split up.

You should try deadlock corrupt,no way out. It works really well for me.

I'm not a big fan of 'entity blocking' perks. Sometimes it results in a lot of gens popping in very short succession.

    @Sonzaishinai said:

It's kinda funny how pain resonance and pop work so well together when they are designed to be anti synergistic

PR causes the gen to regress so you shouldn't be able to kick it with pop after, but with survivors tendancy to instantly hop back on they just give gen regression on a silver plater

I honestly think the two together are overkill - both are 'win more' perks, and you are sort of putting all of your eggs in that basket.

Both of these also require you to jump through some hoops, and together that amounts to quite a lot of wasted time.

If I'm going Pop, I'm probably dedicating the rest of my perks to pressure or info. If I'm going PR, I'll combine it with Surge and Agitation in order to waste less time.

who sabo in all honesty? you see 1 sabo squad every 15 matches

I see it maybe 1 in 4. People are starting to discover that there are 6-8 maps with possible hook spawns where, if you keep 1 sabo'd, you create a sizeable deadzone where it's impossible to hook anyone.

Plus - he's saying there is a direct counter to PR. Do you...just want PR not to need a counter?

how often have you used lichen? i see it as a huge upgrade over soda tbh. see EVERYONE no matter what they're doing (except lockers) while tping and for 3 seconds.

i guess if you miss them behind the gen then soda would be better in that specific scenario? but overall i don't see it being better in the majority of times personally.

sorta up to preference though, but i'd still argue that lichen is stronger and gives valuable team-wide information in every stage of the game whereas soda is too focused on one thing.

also i do like the brass lighter praise, it's very easy blindness.

    Quite a lot.

From certain angles, I find the auras get blocked by gens.

Do you think Boons will get another change? Personally, I just think they need one more nerf in either the ability to place it multiple times, or a rework to snuffing totems. Especially since Boons make Hex: Pentimento completely redundant. What are your thoughts on Boons?

    It's basically guaranteed.

CoH is the prime offender, and needs a targeted nerf. At the very least, it shouldn't stack with other healing. A team-wide self care is already strong.

As for the rest, many people have suggested that snuffing a boon should break that totem. I also like this idea.

Pinhead wasn’t gutted. I played a match against him and that change where the chains don’t interrupt you while solving was bullshit I was harassed by chains while trying to solve but I thought they did that? Also the addons were completely fine. Pinhead is exactly the same. Stop saying he was gutted

    Eh.

He's still playable. He's not Pig or Legion - but he went from 'B' tier to 'C' tier, which is annoying.

The problem is that so much of what made him interesting and viable were his addons. The solving time addons could have done with a small nerf, but his hunt addons were totally fine (and are now Freddy tier) and his iri box absolutely did not need a nerf (it's really, really bad now).

He really needs a bit of help to his base kit. Not being able to break his own chains would be a good start - this adds a layer of really annoying RNG.

I know you're not doing anything against the wave of cheaters so at least remove the DC penalty.

Seriously this is getting out of hand. The amount of cheaters i got in the past days while playing killer is unreal.

Do something.. Anything.. But do something.

    No.

Nobody likes cheaters, and it's bloody frustrating when you get them.

However, removing the DC penalty makes the game miserable for everyone for weeks.

Basically every game, the second I get a down, or a survivor doesn't want to play against my killer today, or they make a mistake, they DC and now I get to have an annoying game and their teammates have basically lost.

Frankly, I want the DC penalty increased.

  • @IsMmrReal said:

Like we get it you mastered an easy killer to play!!! You are a god let me tell you!!

    ...Zuh?

Nurse is by no means an easy killer to play.

Generally though, Nurse is a killer you play when you want to win. She isn't fun at all for dozens of hours after you start learning her, so once you've put the effort in, you'll probably have a slightly inflated sense of pride.

Honestly though, I don't see many toxic nurses. They'll win (or lose), chuck a GG and leave. The worst I've seen is them doing that spinny thing once they've downed someone.

    @IlliterateGenocide said:

While I don't think nurse is nearly the hardest killer to learn or master. Every killer takes skill.

I think twins huntress and blight are harder to learn and master then nurse.

Mastery isn't the issue. There are a lot of killers with a very high skill ceiling (Hag, Billy, Blight, Demo, Plague, Huntress etc.).

Nurse has a very high skill 'floor'. She's very difficult to pick up.

I've been having a pretty enjoyable time with BBQ, Pain Resonance, Retribution, and Plaything on Spirit.

44 + 135 seconds of aura reading is devastating.

I'll run PR on killers that I know I have choice on where I down people. Plague and Cannibal work well with it. I also use it on Cenobite, combined with Surge. Ditto Myers, unless I'm doing a mirror build.

On killers like Hag, I prefer Pop or Ruin. I'll also run Plaything+Penti sometimes, but I find that good groups identify this style quickly and just don't cleanse the Plaything totems and instead rely on coms or other cues.

  • @RaSavage42 said:

All of them need to be reworked in one way shape or form

Eh. If the hook spawns are currently bugged (as some streamers think) Midwich is pretty decent.

Both Yamaoka maps feel moderately balanced and fun to play on.

    SW is fine as is.

    I'm sure there are more.

  • @Epitome said:

    Seriously think about it.

The perk was garbage before the nerf (people would just tunnel through it anyway) but now it's even more garbage cause it deactivates if you sneeze.

I'm here for the totem and gen deactivation but healing? Seriously? It should deactivate when you finish healing.

Those opinions aside, they should alter it since it's still trash.

    Make it actually decisive.

    (it's not called Lucky Strike)

Rather than a sad one-shot skill check, it should be switched to Active Ability key/button, and you should be able to decide when to use it. (Still with one use of course) It's meant to discourage tunneling, no? Well, what's more discouraging than walking to a hook laughing to yourself about how easy that tunnel was only to get stabbed before you get your hook?

I play both sides and I've never had a problem with Decisive Strike as a killer.

I think the only people who complained about it were those who actively want to and like to tunnel.

(Which I do on occasion as well, like anyone playing Killer does. But never once have I gotten stabbed and said "I didn't deserve that")

    ...What?

No, the perk was ridiculous before the nerf. It often essentially amounted to an extra life for survivors.

What you are describing would be even more frustrating to face than the original incarnation, and would amount to an extra life.

Tunneling is how killers are supposed to play, to some degree. If you try and 2 hook everyone before killing, you're either going to lose or were mismatched.

You have a perk to prevent tunneling off the hook (the only sort of tunneling I consider problematic) and another to discourage tunneling further.

I know it doesn't feel nice to be tunneled but the answer is to rely on your teammates to distribute hooks better and on you to play more carefully if you're on your final hook.

  • @TeabaggingGhostface said:

As much as id love that, id have to say thats kinda a bad idea

    I actually rather like it.

    Trapper just needs...something.

A smaller TR would help Trapper and Pig in a big way without getting complicated, and it feels weirdly organic to their kits too.

  • @TheDarkTyrant said:

Can't easily fix something that is already good. You'll most likely just make it worse.

I really don't think that RPD is good.

As a survivor, I lose there sometimes because there are a lot of hooks that are almost basements, and others that my allies simply can't seem to find. Gens can be annoying to locate and it's really easy to get turned around.

As a killer, I lose there sometimes because I don't like staking out a 3-4gen in advance and staying there. However, I'll routinely lose gens despite me knowing where they are and that people are working on them due to just how big the match is and how much of a time commitment it is to patrol. Add this to the ridiculous boon spot in the library, where you either lose because you have to spend ages going there to snuff it, or lose because half the map is covered in CoH and Shadowstep and...yeah.

It's probably my least favorite map. And yes that includes Haddonfield, Badham, Cowshed, Eyrie, MD and Pantry.

  • @wewantbetterfun said:

Corrupted intervention (2 minutes without 2 gens done for your first hook)

Scourge hooks: pain resonance (constant pressure at nearly every hook + location even if they let go you know which gen has most progress)

Pop goes the weasel (after pain resonance you can remove another 25% on that gen for a total of 40% or get another gen)

The last perk is whatever you want really, bbq for points and auras if you wish or something else for endgame or help you during chases.

While using these perks combination myself with nearly every killer, my matches last way longer and I had way more chances to get many hooks or kills with it, I really don't get genrushed as much as I used to, the constant pressure with every hook + the pallets during chases + pop + the 2 minutes at the start gives killer a way bigger chance to win with this combination since it removes lots of progress and really reduce the ability for survivors to finish 2 gens before your first hook, once you get your first one the pressure is already done and it's a constant build up.

Even if they all heal they already lost a few pallets and they constantly lose progress on gens since at every hook they lose 40% progress, every hooks remove 32 seconds of progress, do 2 hooks in 1 minute they lost a minute of progress, it's nothing to laugh about.

I really recommend killers to use these perks if you really want to not get genrushed and you want your games to last longer and be more likely to get kills/win, try it out and tell me your experiences with it

    Good luck in the fog.

    Eh.

CI - yes. Although I've been moving away from it recently, as a lot of groups seem to have figured out that if you simply wait it out and hide cleverly, you deny the perk completely.

PR - no. It's a good perk (honestly, I'd say it's almost a perfect perk) but it has counterplay and a pretty wild RNG element to it.

Pop - sort of. It's another good perk.

That said, this sort of reflects the meta, and the killer meta is usually informed by the survivor meta. In this case, negating all attrition builds by healing crazily fast with CoH and medkits (particularly due to a specific bug).

This means that killers either have to go all-in on aggression/hard pressure via instadown perks or stuff like STBFL, or adapt to a new attrition game involving heavy regression.

  • Yes, but that was because it made hexplay viable, enabling a wide variety of builds.

Ruin probably needed a small nerf, but nerfing Undying was actually a pretty sweeping nerf to a lot of killers.
