We should nerf that perk and make it a non-hex perk. That perk right now feels like the ######### sibling of ruin.
I use it with Ruin, to rather good effect. But like I said, skilled survivors don't mind it so much at 5 stacks, and tend to stop failing skillchecks then.

The hag is a princess, and doesn't actually need any perks to play well. I have run her completely naked at rank 1 (no perks and no add-ons)
The setup I run the most with her currently is actually all Hex Hag.
Hex Ruin, Devour Hope, Huntress Lullaby, Thrill of the Hunt.
I know what your thinking "why are you taking all Hex's, they are just going to clear them and leave you with no perks."
Exactly. They spend the first 2-5 mins hunting for my totems, this lets me set up my run-path traps and get a hook or two. None of those totems can be ignores. Ruin is hated by all survivors, and devour and Huntress are great game changers at 3 hooks+. And you would be surprised how many games, at rank 1, I end with Ruin still on the board, or devour actually working.
The Princess is all about play style, and taking perks that help yours. I thought the game needed to slow down, so I give the survivors something to do other then the generators. They get points, i get kills.

Seriously. If the game isn't lagging unbearably then it's just a tunnel fest.
Before you cry "w3lL dun get c@Ught lol" they stil tunnel other survivors to death.
You get penalized if you don't unhook. Plus its not nice to leave someone on the hook. But you have to. Because every killer walks a little bit away from the hook then quickly runs back to tunnel the unhooked guy before he can get away. Game after game after game this is the strategy of every 9 out of 10 killers.
Its absolutely awful for the person being tunneled and its boring as hell for the remaining survivors.
Dont give me "its a legit strategy" approach. Its garbage and has completely ruined one side kf the game.
They need to make some extreme changes to make this playable again. Its only worth it in SWF or playing killer now.
Doubling back isn't camping. Doubling back works because of 1 of two things.
1: Survivors are camping killer hooks. If you don't let me walk to the gen I know is being worked on, it's your fault.
2: Your team is being over altruistic and the unhook is obvious
In short: Stealth is part of the game. Knowing when is a good time to unhook, is part of the game.

When i play survivor i need Dance W/ Me. On the rare times i don't have it, i still count to three after fast vaults.

That's not how they name themselves. i've worked for 3 different tribes in three different states. During orientation, when they give you the sexism and racism info, they all mentioned this as a racial stereotype.
I have seen many native americans get really mad over this. I watched one Seminole tribe member fire a manager at their casino, and then blackball them from working in any decent restaurant in Tampa, for calling himself ManWHoCooks.
It's one of those racist things that got put into popular culture, like calling a Romani a Gypsy.

dude... thats exactly what they are doing right now.
nothing you see in the PTB is in the game yet, this is all just gettig tested.
give them feedback on what you think about the changes they made and they will most certainly take them in consideration for the upcomming change.if the majority of the playerbase is against the current "Deep Wound" status effect, you can almost be certain that they will not release it without some major changes.
I'm not talking about the deep wound effect, by itself. I understand testing that.
I'm talking about changing the existing effect to be in line with the new one. I think that was backwards.

Let's discuss this from from reddit here:I was so hyped to be able to switch characters/masks/personas in the game and become a different guy of the legion with a slightly different power and advantages (one legion/persona for faster chase, one with lower terror radius, etc)
But then I found out you can only control one person, they all just have this sprint attack and the Legion are actually just different skins for the sake of the cash shop that look like death garden's runners.
The community was so hyped for a "persona changing" killer and it would have been sooo cool but behaviour missed a big opportunity and potential there.
What do you think?
If they did it your way, everyone would choose the faster person, to counter loops. I rather like switch between the two, and i'm certain that they will be releasing other members of the legion as cosmetics. (probably have the same voice as their other male/ female counterpart) And I'm looking forward to that.
I look forward to buying this DLC, just as soon as they adjust the legion to be useful in the ranks I play in most season.

The corn hides both ways just like mist can.
I main Hag. She can do really well in the corn fields. but the maps are still annoying, especially when you keep getting them over and over. it doesn't feel like I'm getting a variety of maps. Even if I am.

ok, who the hell is talking about totems. I'm talking about people going in and out of lockers while you are chasing there friend, so they can cover their friends sounds from the other side of the map.
Ya'll need to stop being so defensive. it's an obvious abuse of the code.

@DwightsLifeMatters said:
Yes, I said this long time ago to the devs, that this is a needed QoL change. It's pretty lazy to give all notifications the same sound. Happens aswell with thrill of the hunt, they do it on purpose. Imo, the explosion sound should only be on real generator explosions and maybe hook sabotage. Everythibg else needs a different and much quiter sound notification. Something like if a dull totem gets destroyed with thrill of the huntAgreed. I really wish there were different sound notifications. I main Hag, so my traps, failed skillchecks, vaults, lockers, ect all have to be interpreted by me in a second, especially while in a chase. And they are all the same sound. I remember being/ getting very very overwhelemed my first game against decent players as a hag, because of all the sound notifications. It's a skill you either learn as the hag, or stop playing her.
And that's without players abusing the sound notification system. Please Devs... do something!

I trap the window on the opposite side of the direction they want to go. This make them turn that way, however, if a survivor trips your trap as they jump through a window, most will jump right back through, assuming you will tp to it.
I love catching people that jump into the Princess' waiting arms.

Sal, the Generator Repair man!
I hear he's going to have a perk that makes you do gens faster, and another that let's him pick up pallets after they are used.
I doubt t that the devs want to kill their game^^
Originally it was a joke to get people speculating about the new survivor, and what neat stuff we are getting there (and I don't even play much survivor)
However, now that I have thought about it, the Pallet perk isn't a bad idea, if they put some sort of limitations on it (like 60-30 seconds after it's used, or something, so it can't be used in the same chase probably)
The reason being is that there is counter play to it, and it's activated by a choice the killer makes.

Ha....
If you are being tunneled, you are screwing up. That or your team mates are Blue Falcons (army term for Buddy F-er)
I don't tend to camp, cause the gens will be rushed. However I will usualy double back for an unhook. because there's guaranteed to be 2 people there, as opposed to maybe 1 person at the gen.
If your teammate unhooks while in my heartbeat, that's ya'lls fault, not mine.
If you run down an open lane of sight and i see you running from my hook. That's your fault.
If you literally run into me. That's your fault.
If I double back because I saw your unhookers pathing, that's not camping.
If you get unhooked and you both run different directions, and you take the path with less/no pallets or escapes. That's your fault. I damn sure remember the weak paths as a decent killer. You should too.
If i hook you and then the exit gates pop, or hook you while the gates are open. Then I probably will camp you. It takes 20seconds to open a gate, with no skillchecks involved. By the time a killer reaches a gate, it tends to be open. So leaving a hook, is just giving up a sack. Sorry, it's just how the endgame works atm.

according to the stats just released. It would seem like it's balanced. an average of half the survivors are killed per trial. And I would think that's about ideal. You wouldn't want 75-100% escaping, or dying on average. That's a lopsided stat. That being said, there's definately work to be done. And I hear they are working on it, just slowly.
I also feel like they need to take another sample for that statistic, further away from events.
Those stats are not worth much.
DC = death (deranking, don't like the map, don't like the killer)
Remaining player after ragequits are also counted in.
Overaltruistic dorks turning a 1k match into a 3k match, because the yinsist to "leave no one behind", also count.
Those stats would be valid if survivor would actually NEED to survive.I do wonder what the actual breakdown is and not guessing by either side, I want hard data such as.
What is the breakdown by rank.
By region
By time of day
Crashes during loading screen.
Crashes in game (i.e. the video card ones as an example)
Killers dcing during loading screen
killers dcing during match
Survivors quitting right before lobby locks in
Survivors quitting early
Survivors quitting sometime during the match.
Killers giving the hatch
Killers going afk to derank aka Bubba guarding the basement as an example
What time frame were the stats recordedetc.
I'de also like hard data such as:
Average pips per game per mode (killer and survivor)
I'de like any instances of 3 person games, or other nonsense removed.
Essentially, i just want a better sample for the data. -

Speaking only from my own point of view (which is no more or less valid than anyone else's in this instance), if I knew only 75% of Survivors escaped, an escape would feel much more deserved and skillful.
I think you said that backwards, but I understood your meaning.
And I guess, and there is an arguement for it in an asymetrical game. But I think 50% is about right. it gives a good margin for skill. Average killers, or an average game, is 2 kills. That makes sense.
I did say it backwards and fixed it. 50% does make sense, but the problem with that flat statistic is that it makes a lot of assumptions about the state of the game. Chiefly, that ranks are the best indicator of skill and that everyone is trying to escape/kill.
I don't really think it says anyhting about the rank system, but I would concur that it requires that everyone be trying to escape/kill. But with a midling percentile like 50% the margin of error for "trolling" doesn't tip the scale in any one direction.
My guess is that people want this game to be Evolve or Friday the 13th. Where the monster was super OP. But we saw how well that concept works. They need to adjust how SWF groups can bully a killer/ gen rush and depip the killer. But the game is balancing out, and isn't in a horrible state. No matter how mad I get at some really lopsided mechanics in the game.

The hatch is one of the most discussed game mechanics in the Community, each complaining about it for different reasons and asking for different corrections. Since I think developers do not have time to read ten billion threads to find all the suggestions that all users have elaborated on a particular issue, collecting the whole debate in one central thread could help users to compare each other and developers to draw the best ideas from the heap.So I ask you to answer constructively, analytically and without controversy the following questions:
1) PROBLEM DEFINITION: What is the "hatch issue" for you? Do you dispute its existence or its operation?
2) PROBLEM ANALYSIS: What specific injustices do you believe derive from the existence or from the actual operation of the hatch?
3) PROBLEM SOLUTION: Which specific and balanced remedies do you propose to fix the problem of the hatch?1: The hatch is DBD Jesus. You can do nothing all life and get saved in the end through no effort of your own.
1: When the key is used, you immediately open the hatch and jump in.
1: It can spawn even though the gates are available, giving survivors 3 escapes.
2: Survivors that did nothing but hide all game, and not do gens or save anyone, can hatch out on their teams work.
2: Survivors can hatch out mid chase with gens left. I've personally had more then one do it just out of my lunge range. Not that it would matter if they were in my lunge range. Still not close enough to interupt and grab.
2: Honestly, im not going into the injustices, it's just to long, and subject to opinion.
3: Require a key for the hatch, always. And put a keyhook in the basement that spawns the key at the start of the match. If a survivor feels the match is going bad, they can grab it. And if they die, the other survivors got to find it, but they know the key is available to them.
3: Require a progress bar to open the hatch, similar to opening the gate. It makes no sense you can open the hatch while injured, intoxicated, and in a chase, with perfect sure hands. Maybe even throw a skillcheck in there, but that might be to much, but worth playtesting IMHO.

Breaking news: people try to win game.
”Sweaty” and “try hard” are more annoying than anything else about this community- the insinuation that’s trying to win is a negative is nauseating.
there is a difference between "trying to win" and going 3-4 man like it's an e-sport. The game isn't balanced that way. They should probably reduce SWF to duo's. A pair can still do some very well coordinated things. And two duo's makes for a very tough game for the killer. But it still leaves open an air of mystery. Without kindred, the other pair wont know if someone is going for the unhook or not. Plus blindness perks like knockout and third seal would be viable.
So you're saying everyone has to play casually.
That's ridiculous. While its not an esport game, some people enjoy playing competitively, trying to be the best they can and improve their game to see how well they can do. Some people really enjoy the min maxing of builds to see which is more efficient and can make their game as killer quicker or more brutal (let's not forget they ARE playing a killer whose job is to kill you all). Some people want to be the beat of the best.
No, everyone doesnt play that hard, and nobody should be required or expected to, but to diminish someone elses gameplay because its "too serious" for you, when it falls within the rules and legality of the game, is absurd.
Sweaty and try hard are used as insults but all it means is they're willing to put more effort into playing their best game than you are. Which is perfectly fine.
Not what I'm saying. In fact if you read my post you'de see that I very much favor a competative game.

Unfortunately he is plagued with bugs like his bottles breaking on him, and tall plants as well as the gas straight up not working sometimes and the fact that he snags on things other killers don't. If they would debug the killer he would be the absolute best chaser in this game. hands down.

He has the potential. But I'de say he would end up more of a defensive killer then a chaser with buffs. (like a lethal version of the hag)
maybe i just want poor trapper to be s teir
I'de love for him to be B tier. Viable and balanced. His look and kit is right up my alley. But his gameplay is not. I hate carrying 1 trap wihtout add-ons and having to fetch them everywhere.
If they made him keep his traps in the toolboxes like huntress and limited the total he can have on the map, I think it would be a better fix. Also, let him hold 2 base.

Again - implying ever SWF is 4man.This impacts solo players in that match too 🤦🏻♂️
that's why the actual best fix for SWF is to limit it to 2 people. While a 2 person team can do some really organized stuff, there is still an air of mystery to the game.
Unless the 2 rando's have kindred, they wont know what the others are doing when the rando's are hooked. THIS IS A MAJOR THING. On of the best game slowers is when more then 1 survivor goes for the unhook, and you don't have people gen rushing.
Knockout and Hex: Third Seal would be worth using. 3+ person groups make these killer perks useless.
I have no issue making it Duos only, but again, it takes away the fun for those that do like 3/4man.
HOWEVER, while I don't have an issue with any amount of SWF when I play killer if people want to moan about it thats up to them but I PERSONALLY don't struggle or don't finish a match and think "I only lost that because SWF".I know it would take some of the fun out of the game. Because it is fun to take a 3 man or 4 man, and be a swat team. But the game just simply isn't balanced that way. This game isn't an e-sport, and isn't inteded to be.
Duo's would let you play with a friend, and give you two a distinct advantage. And 2 duo's makes for a pretty tough game for the killer. But the killer does have a chance to gain momentum.

Good killers don't run NOED, because good killers don't count on you powering the gates.
Generally speaking, my perk build is made to keep you from doing that.
NOED works like this in red ranks:
1: They destroy all the dull totem
2: You down one person, they notice the insta down, and hunt down that last totem they missed. Sure you got that last hook you wanted, but now you gotta camp it, cause NOED is gone and the gates are open.
I'll take the black pip and move to the next game. Screw NOED. on anyhting but defensive killers (hag can make good use of it) and even then, you shouldn't be counting on the end of the game like that.

those people deserve hugs. i haven’t seen a clown in FOREVER
i know poor clowns rare creatures i wish trapper would get a buff though he has one of the best playstyles in the game the predictions and potential in chases is off the charts but sadly sfw steals trappers lunch money then breaks his stuff and then they beat him into a corner and even when the exit gates are open they continue to jeer and taunt at him because they know he is useless
i cri evri tiem
poor trapper not even his dad can save him he comes home and the entity is like "how was your day" and he just sighs and says "good" then goes up to his room and curls up on the floor hungry for his stolen lunches and cries until sleep takes him
Clown is absolutely amazing, when he works. Unfortunately he is plagued with bugs like his bottles breaking on him, and tall plants as well as the gas straight up not working sometimes and the fact that he snags on things other killers don't. If they would debug the killer he would be the absolute best chaser in this game. hands down.
maybe but if trapper was buffed he could be best in chases
He has the potential. But I'de say he would end up more of a defensive killer then a chaser with buffs. (like a lethal version of the hag)

I honestly don't care if they ever add Jason or not. It seems like the design space for his character is pretty crowded already. What would his power even be?Stalking. Stabbing. Very original.
Exactly. Michael already has the stalking and stabbing ability. He has to have a different enough ability to fit into DBD.
Said it before, and I will say it again. The jason power was the ability to break through walls. They tested a killer that had that power in beta, and decided it was to op.

Is it the rank reset? Is it something In the water? Why are there so many SWF groups acting like this is an e-sports game and they are trying to get sponsored? It's nearly every game since reset. it's nuts.Am I the only one experiencing this?
You might wanna look into deranking, but I dont know how to situation is at lower ranks either because I decided to take a break after the halloween farming event

I actually have avoided pipping up to far. And from the streams I've watched, the sentiment is mutual for killer mains. I see a lot of people trying for black pips in green and purple ranks just to avoid gaining rank.
Me personally, when I decide to play, I do something like : Hag or clown (my faves on pc atm) then something I don't play because i'm almost certainly going to depip since almost every game i've been getting has been really hardcore SWF groups.
The problem is that even though I'm not taking the depip games to seriously, they are. And man do they treat me like utter crap for that time. Which makes me go back to hag, get a 4k, and hate myself for double pipping.
IE: Last night i Played Nurse. I'm really bad with her. The group ended up being a 3 or 4 man, not sure. And the last guy decided he was going to run loops with me for 5 minutes after everyone escaped.
I d/ced, and reported him for taking the game hostage (i couldn't hit him, and he knew that and he was just trolling me)

What? My swf (3 people btw) isnt sweaty....we just enjoy playing in the same game and often will treat each other like randoms. No super altruism or calling out perks post game.
Just because your team plays SWF like it was intended doesn't mean most others do. Especially lately.
I've kinda stopped playing. i'm waiting a few more days for the survivors to plateau in the color rank they belong. Maybe that will cut down on the sweat some.

As a Killer main, I see Tapp the least.
Tapp players tend to play the distraction roll.
I see plenty of Quintons, and most of them love to teabag. So i love to kill him.

You are not alone. The sweat is real and the salt content is extremely high.I've noticed that about the salt too. A couple weeks ago I could stick around in the after game chat, and talk about the game and how to improve, ect.
Since reset I almost immediately just leave, even if it was a good/ fun game. Cause people just throw shade.
And this has caused me to play less.

2 things give me the smiles on the standard:
First: When someone vaults, triggers my hag trap, and vaults right back into my arms.
Second: Out mindgaming and then tunneling out anyone that's toxic IG. (especially when i have a Mori)

They said 50% of survivors don't survive a trial. That means a Killer got a 2k. And considering you can pip up without surviving pretty easilly... i'm wondering why people think that means the killer is OP. Should the game be 100% of survivors escaping? Or 75%? Cause that's your only other 2 options.

I'd be curious how many of these survivor deaths come from NOED alone. Literally every killer takes it. I see games go from 0-2 hooks all game, and then turn into 2 solid kills due to NOED as the other survivors wont unhook while thats active.Actually most good killers don't take it. I don't know others reasons for not taking NOED, but mine is thus: I don't plan on the gates being powered.

Ace wears a wedding ring and is a confirmed bachelor. Might not be trans, but i'm betting he's part of the LGBT community.
