If I recall they currently can't do cosmetics for Victor because he's a separate model. He's basically Charlotte's power, like Billy's chainsaw or Trapper's traps.

But that does not make the thing op... If you feed an Oni 20 free hits because you meme he will have blood for the next 5 games... Does not make it Op... Memeing around decreases your chances of winning.
I think you misread his post. When he said OP, he meant "original post" not "overpowered".

On a side note, Jane's perk that let's you miss Gen skill checks without the blowup is kind of decent against him... Because if he wants to mori you and you are on a gen you can prolong the Gen duration by missing skill checks ^^ I don't remember what the perk is called, because it is so trash xD
You're thinking of Feng's perk Technician.

Well it's a Tomb >challenge< right? You just selecting the challenge shouldn't give you a free win? The Killer's objective is to KILL. You have to SURVIVE as a SURVIVOR. That's just the core gameplay we are talking about now. The Killer Kills, the Survivor has to Survive. No challenge should give you immunity or force the opponent to play a certain way you want.
Once again, you just made a strawman. NOBODY said anything about free wins. Being annoyed by something that makes the challenge too difficult doesn't necessarily mean that you want no challenge at all. Why do so many people pretend that middle-ground doesn't exist?
-
@Nick said:
If you're playing for Tomb challenges why are you getting annoyed at not winning? You want to get wins AND go for Tomb challenges at the same time? If you want to do well and win consistently you shouldnt be doing any tomb challenges. Put on an exhaustion, anti tunnel (DS or OTR) or maybe in your case even both and maybe a Bond? Kindred? You can't expect to win every game if you're doing challenges and in a full solo team. Come on man
You realize there are multiple tome challenges that require you to "win" (escape), right? Also OP didn't even say they're annoyed at not winning. Where did you get that?

No, just nerf the FTP-Buckle up
No need for what you ask, just wait for the heal to be over and down them immediatly after. Well done, you wasted a massive amount of their time
What OP's suggesting wouldn't affect FTP-Buckle Up since that combo is used near instantly and during the killer's cooldown animation, when they can't do anything else. They're more likely referring to heal-tech at the exit.

Why do they shadow change things? What’s the point of not putting this and Pyramid Heads new add-on in the patch notes? It just feels disingenuous.
They weren't "shadow" changed. It lists in the patch notes the perks/addons that were changed because of the Mangled changes.

If MFT is considered OP, then UW is also OP. Both have two strong effects that could arguably be separated into different perks, little to no CD to hinder it from proc'ing again, and each has a simple activation condition that is closely tied to the natural gameplay loop.
"two strong effects"
Are you really saying 30 seconds of Blindness is a "strong effect"? And searching lockers isn't really part of the natural gameplay loop, at least not nearly as much as simply *be injured*.
But yeah, Ultimate Weapon is kind of just Doctor's Static Blast except it lasts 30 seconds instead of being one and done until cooled down, it requires checking a locker and it doesn't inflict Madness. Oh and it doesn't have to be charged, gives no warning it's coming and works on survivors hiding in lockers. Plus the minor annoyance of Blindness. So overall I'd say it's better than Doctor's Static Blast. Weird having a perk that's just part of a killer's power but better.

i don't care what excuse these players give... it will never be ok to ######### over your team.
It certainly is okay in some situations. If my "team" never so much as looks in the direction of a gen in the first 5 minutes and is instead off trading hooks and trying (i.e. failing) for flashlight saves I see nothing wrong with bowing out. If they aren't going to put in some effort to progress the match, I'm under no obligation to stick around and help them lose slower. Making moral absolutist statements about a mostly gray situation is pretty silly. There are situations where they're obviously wrong, like going down 20 seconds in and trying to suicide immediately. However, in my experience that's fairly rare. I actually see DC's more often, oddly enough. I guess if they're "that type" they're more likely to take the quick twitch reaction of hitting "Leave Game" than wait until they're on hook to decide.
P.S. Apparently censored posts get uncensored in the reply box when you quote them. Weird.
-
It was never about cheaters. Back in the day cheaters could just use Cheat Engine to effectively have infinite BP, or save edit to give themselves however much bonus BP they wanted (since bonus BP has a different, practically unreachable cap) as well as items/addons/offerings/perks without even touching the bloodweb.
McLean said in one of his streams years ago that the point of the cap is to keep people from saving enough BP to max out new characters right away. That's all it is. A way to prevent players from burning through new content too quickly.

I love it when people deliberately being smart is somehow a "glitch", really shows that the DBD crowd is coming to MYM with their mindsets. Something tells me you all would hate games like Mario Maker.
And finding the entrance takes under a minute, if it's not at the start of the base. Harvey's route logic is a thing, just search a base with the pathing in mind and you'll find it quickly.
Because it's very obvious that it's a glitch. The devs went out of there way to make pistons stop when the HRV approaches, so they clearly don't want them killing it. It's an oversight (i.e. bug/glitch) that the piston won't stop if the HRV is already in its path at the start of the raid.

Wiggling free on your own is rare (as it should be). You need others to bodyblock/make the killer whiff to buy time. In my experience the problem is most soloQ teammates exclusively bodyblock when you've been picked up <5 sec away from a hook, only giving the killer a free hit. If you're 15s from a hook they're suddenly nowhere to be found.

...Yeah, infinite free heals is pretty gamebreaking. Who'd have thought?
Infinite free heals? The Inner Healing bug made it so the perk was basically shared between everyone who had it equipped. If anyone cleansed a totem, all Inner Healing perks would become active. However, it worked the other way too. If anyone used it, all Inner Healing perks would become inactive. This meant at most you'd get 5 Inner Healing heals across the entire team (unless the killer has Pentimento), which is no different than normal. It just made it more annoying if you were with randoms, since they could use the heal before you were able even if you were the one to break a totem.

If you punish people for killing themselves on hook they'll just start going afk while doing something else or deliberately throwing the match to get out quicker. You can't force people to play a match they don't want to. And frankly, there are times where suiciding is perfectly justified. An automated system wouldn't be able to distinguish between rage quitting and peacing out because killer's farming, other survivors are just hiding in the corners, etc. Manual reports would require video evidence and going through their report system, which is already tedious enough when reporting cheaters. Plus it would add way more work from their support team having to manually review a bunch of videos.

You completely missed the point.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Because for some reason Killers who failed all game and camp during Endgame think they deserve the pity Kill.
The endgame is still part of the game. They haven't "failed" until the results screen pops up. Once gens are done they have literally nothing else to do but secure what kills they can. Most of the time that means camping/tunneling. Really weird to see someone who's played this game for years still have this mentality.
Also endgame DS was more of a problem if you DIDN'T camp. If you were camping, you could force a trade in most situations and DS wouldn't come into play. DS was more punishing to killers who decided to not camp, but were then forced to go after the unhooked because everyone else was healthy or sitting at the exit.

I think people really overestimate prove thyself. It's not a bad perk by any means but it's hardly OP.
It saves about 6 seconds with 2 people, 8 seconds with 3 and around 11 with 4. This time save is also not nearly as efficient as soloing gens as the time save comes from negating the efficiency loss of working together. As in, it takes 80 seconds to solo a gen and 41 with prove thyself where otherwise it'd take 47.
It's more useful for knocking out a problematic gen and maxing objective rather then straight up rushing them.
For reference, the base brown toolbox with no add-ons saves around 5 seconds while the commodious saves around 11, again no add-ons. Toolboxs can also be brought by everyone without needing to waste a perk slot or needing someone else to get the benefit.
I think Prove Thyself is perfectly fine as it's basically just a toolbox in perk form.
Exactly. It's also more strategic to split up on gens. It's far easier for the killer to get survivors off one gen than 3-4 scattered across the map. If everyone sits on a single gen and the killer interrupts then progress is completely halted. If they were on separate gens, only one would stop progressing while the others continue. "Don't put all your eggs in one basket." Prove Thyself only really shines when preventing or breaking up a 3-gen.
-
Bill's not on the bottom of the scoreboard. That's highly unusual.
-
They said "during a major release this summer" so I'd think it's coming either in the mid-chapter or, more likely, the next chapter (in September if they stick to their regular schedule).
-
-no sprint bursting off gens
-no dead hard when chased off a gen unless you manage to stop moving for 5 seconds mid-chase
-exhaustion cooldowns don't recover while doing gens
-all aura reading perks (Bond, Empathy, Kindred) useless while working on gens (mainly effects solos)
-can't see where other survivors go down (and by extension where the killer is) and you can't tell when they are picked up
It's a very solid perk.
-
From my understanding, you can still do things the old way; they aren't getting rid of teachable perks. It's just if you do prestige a character you immediately get tier 1 of their perks (or tier 2/3 for prestige 2/3) on everyone else without having to find them on the bloodweb.

But why do they care about if a killer is maxed out on the first day? Like, in the grand scheme of things, who cares? And new killers are usually behind the eight ball anyway since they're learning new mechanics. Why not help them out by letting them get some half way decent perks?
They're worried that people will get bored and the hype of a new chapter will die quickly if they immediately unlock everything.
-
The problem is that the game regularly has bugs, some of which would trip those conditions (getting stuck above the map, permanent sprint burst, etc.). It'd be way too easy for there to be false positives that would have to be resolved.

The killer is running a perk to slowdown opening the exit gates. Survivors have perk options to speed up opening the exit gates.
Just because Wake Up isn't meta doesn't mean the perk isn't there for this kind of situation.
It's impossible to bring to tools to every match to deal with every situation, you just have to decide what is more important to you.
I never said you couldn't do that, but that most won't.
You're also ignoring a couple things:
-No Way Out does NOT slow down opening the exits; it delays the interaction.
-It lets the killer know you're there so they'll more than likely find you. Unless you can shake them, you won't be able to open the exit at all making Wake Up moot.
-
@Crowman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2943081#Comment_2943081
You still have a key. You still have time to open the exit gate after it's blocked and if you really want to open the exit gate you have wake up too.
The situation you are talking about is suppose to be difficult to escape from. It's not impossible, but it's certainly not in your favor.
IF you have a key, then yes since that's exactly what they're designed for. You can't bring a key every match though.
You only have 60s to open the exit IF you touch it right away, and you need 20s to actually open it and 1-2 seconds to run out. Add to that the fact the killer will be notified when you touch it and will probably beeline it to you with no distractions and you most likely won't even get to try to open the exit. Unless the killer's very new, they basically have to try to lose at that point.
And no one uses Wake Up come on now.

I don't think either of them gives a guaranteed win, and think both of them are ok as they are, so I don't really see where you're coming from.
You don't think the exit being blocked for half of the endgame timer and giving you a notification of where the only remaining survivor is located is a guaranteed win? What more do you need?
-
@Crowman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2942884#Comment_2942884
Actually the initial version only worked when last gen was done. When they updated the perk to make it not bad they removed that.
That's what I thought but the wiki description said "When the exit gates are powered" and I couldn't find anything to contradict that and thought I was misremembering. Apparently it's because the initial version didn't have the "interact with the exit switch" requirement. The wording still makes it sound like it should've worked when the hatch was closed though.
-
It really shouldn't. It always baffles me that Remember Me got hard nerfed because it was too unfair for the final survivor (at least I think that's why), when they could have gone the Rancor route and just given it an "all gens completed" requirement. Then almost 2 years later they release a perk that's even more effective, still don't give it an "all gens completed" requirement, let it stack with Remember Me and then proceed to buff its numbers AND give it a notification so it screws over the last guy even more. It makes absolutely no sense.
I don't get why people are so against it. Most of the time unless the gates are very far apart it's very hard for the survivor to get away once you close hatch. Where's the fun in continuing to play a match when the other side has 0 chance of surviving and you basically have to do nothing to get the kill? May as well just have the Entity auto-kill the last survivor at that point.
-
I saw "Hawkins" get censored shortly before the map was removed. Guess they really wanted it to be forgotten.
-
Are you certain the cheater didn't just change their Steam name mid-match and clear previous aliases?
-
It's not because of hackers. McLean said on one of his streams that it's so people can't max out new characters day one and get bored. Not a good sign when the devs have such little faith in their own content that they think people will get bored without some grind to keep them interested.

"Fair" matches don't exist in DBD. The game is based around luck.
You should always strive towards fairness, even if it isn't completely attainable. Just as you should try to be better, even if you'll never be perfect. With your mentality the game would still be in its 2016 state.

Standing on hatch for several minutes clearly indicates the 4k mentality.
I couldn't care less if someone escaped via a key as I play the G-A-M-E for F-U-N and not to boost my virtual ego.
Who cares if someone escapes via the hatch?
Just play the next match and stop acting like you had to stand on the hatch for several minutes because anything less than a 4k shortens your lifespan.
Doing what you can to get a 4k/3k and believing you deserve a 4k are two entirely different things.

I wish they'd get rid of the match cancelling when a survivor leaves. I just sat for 5-10 minutes waiting for a match just to get stuck at a 5+ minute loading screen before it finally cancelled the match so I can wait another 5-10 minutes for another match. Even if it winds up being a 3v1 like it used to at least I could get credit towards this stupid glyph challenge.

If the Pig really wants to keep them off the boxes there's really nothing you can do about it. If anything, it's better to just pop the gens because then it might pressure the Pig into leaving them alone to get the others off gens. It's like camping/tunneling. You want to punish it by doing gens as quickly as possible while they're focused on that one person.

Her new addon requires her to have 0 hatchets. Turning her into a m1 killer with a huge terror radius/lullaby. Where is this beneficial for her?
I'm pretty sure the idea is that IF you run out of hatchets when you nearly have someone downed, simply M1'ing them is more viable. They don't expect you to intentionally go around with no hatchets for the whole match. Still not really Very Rare addon material though. Honestly could probably be base kit.
