  • Happened to me yesterday while playing legion

    Picked up a survivor, remote hooked them as they got pallet save;

The game ended up hooking someone else entirely and the other survivor stayed on my shoulder till the end of endgame collapse. Had to DC in the end cos the match wouldnt end

Got gaslighted by survivors cos i killed them while carrying their friend tho

  • Send me to ormond, springwood or other survivor sided map, i'll go extra hard on you. Thats only fair, you want to be a jerk, let me be a jerk.

  • The only thing that should be removed is the "emote" exploit (inb4 they call it a """tech""")

Go look for lilith omens video and hug tech and learn how to counterplay it, if you assume it has no counterplay means just don't know about that yet.

The only "counter" to it was :

    • Noticing he was using the exploit
    • Predicting where the exploit will lead him
    • Go to an unusal spot in the loop that you know he can't reach

    Fun counter i guess

    All of those are exploits...

So if we call all of them exploits, the term exploit will be overused instead.

Techs are basically exploits, but they are simply not so game breaking compare to getting invisible etc.

Techs are additional layer of what you can learn in DBD and I believe most of them should stay.

Not when those "techs" give little to no counterplay (as blight one)

Fov, cj, window and so on are easily predictable

Blight hug was ridiculously broken, making him arguably better than nurse

And for the record, im like 95% a killer player

Yeah, crouch exploit also sounds way better than crouch tech.

    CJ exploit, FOV exploit.

Why even use tech for anything?

Idk, i find the "tech" word being so overused in dbd, whereas its absent of most multiplayer game i know

    Still, its an exploit

  • I've seen this idead for many years now

It would be funny but actually totally unplayable against swf

  • There is absolutely no "skill expression" by "managing your hooks", you just hook someone to the closest one or to the closest scourge one, like everybody does and alwas have done.

But some survivors love to go to hook dead zone and going down, knowing they will be unhookable. Then they get slugged, then they complain about slugging being unhealthy

  • @Laendra said:

they maintain statistics of each match. If they don't get the mix they want, adjust powers until they come more in line with what they'd like to see…seems simple

Yes, seems simple to track 42 different survivors abilities, making them different enough to justify playing them but not strong enough to unbalance the game

You are absolutely right, piece of cake

  • Its already a S tier killer

Why would you buff him again. The nerf was justified and welcome. Don't call this a "tech", this was just an exploit giving 0 counterplay to survivors.

  • They bufff and add QoL to killer who need it.

Its a casual game, nobody cares about your "skill expression" being ruined because you spend too much time playing them

Not really? I m just arguing that both positions are valid... I don't even take the time to sit around when somebody decides to bm me while bleeding out, I just tab out and do something else in the mean time, same when the team decides to give up, I deem my time too precious for that... However what I argued about was that one side is not worse than the other... Remember chess merchant when she held the game hostage for an hour? Kind of similar, some people deemed that a good time investment, and if it was only to prove how stupid that thing was... Sidenote: Just like everything else about the stupid skull merchant character was and still ist...

I didnt play from knight release to chucky so i wasn't around for that. But defending gens is actually playing the game

Hiding in a corner just to waste time, isn't.

Shocking the last survivor with doctor for an hour is the same in my book. I don't get why people get so mad that they need to actually waste so much time doing debiliting things just to prove a point.

  • @Archol123 said:

Like I said before, fully depends of the duration of hiding... It has not been clear yet if it was 10 min less or more... I think the line is 15 min of not progressing the game? Which is fairly easy to avoid..

So you would rather waste 1 hour of your time because the killer played ruthlessly instead of just move on with your life ?

You people have too much tome on your hands i guess.

I mean both sides are kind of fair... One guy feels mistreated, as he feels like he did not get to play the game because the other side played in an unfun way and now the same thing happens to the other side... I would almost call it Karma…ofc it is not the most mature thing to do, but then again it is a video game, you can be as immature as you want to, exactly because you never meet the other guy again, there is not punishment for that.

The thing is both sides can do whatever they want within the rules of the game, and as long as that's the case all is fine, so if he wants to hide for an hour, progressing gens a bit every 15 min so it is not reportable then that is completely fine... Quite honestly the other side cannot really complain, they started off by playing unfun to reach their goal and now the opposing side does the same... Not saying it is the mort healthy thing for the game, but it is understandable.

Except for the fact that, this is actually reportable

  • Exactly, it's a game. So tell me where is the entertaining bit of not playing it and just waste the time of everyone, including yours, to prove a point to a random that you'll probably never ever talk to or meet.

    Grow up.

icl if the killer tunnels or camps i will make my mission to not be found and to waste as much of their time as they did mine. i’m just petty like that.

but anyways the killer instinct suggestion is not awful but would be rewarding the killer for not being able to find anyone which kind of defeats the purpose of the game (scary hide and seek- as described by one of the devs a few years ago) and if someone is swapping lockers etc they’re not afk so there’s no reason for them to spawn crows.

swamp needs reworked sooo bad, if they do it justice who knows.

i don’t really think there’s anything they can do if im being completely honest

That's a really mature thing to do and surely, it helps driving the community to a better place

  • That would make trickster actually playable ngl

You are the only person who is using the word "weak" here.

The point is that the Killer powers are stronger. And this cannot really be denied. (e.g. breaking a Pallet remotely is way stronger than putting up an Event Pallet)

Ofc the killer power are stronger

    Like killer perks are stronger

What a surprise, there are 4 survivors and 1 killer

No one is asking to farm with you.

No one is asking you to sit and watch people do gens.

"I usually play fair, going for 12 hooks if i can and if the pace of the game permits it"

That's pretty much all that is being asked.

The dont bring gen rushing build

    Dont bring bnp and comodious

Dont go bodyblocking me when you got unhooked

    Its a double edged sword

He is not weak, his buffs made his tantrums last extremely short durations, and his sweeps got his Chili add-ons basekit. His collision was also buffed in his favor, he is not weak like he was before, I've played him quite a bit and he feels very nice to play in general now.

Artist can't place crows near hooked survivors, if Xenomorph exits a tunnel near a hooked survivor the speed of which he exits is very slow, and Dredge can't teleport to lockers near hooked survivors.

I hit the survivors who are coming for the save early, then if the other survivors are still trying to unhook, I'll target one of them and get them hooked. That's normally how I'm doing it as killer, I main Spirit/Chucky.

I'm not saying obliterate his ability to camp, I'm simply saying add some middle ground in which the survivors can have a chance of trading rather then two or more survivors going down from the chainsaw. For an example the unhooker gets the save, Bubba downs both of them, now he got two kills.

So nothing stops xeno or dredge from camping hook, you wont ever go in a tunnel or a locker during egc to camp a hook

Bubba is weak against peopel that actually know what they are doing, the buff helps him, but he is still in the low tier category

When 3 survivors swarm you for the unhook, the most plausible scenario is :

    • They all come together, waiting for you to hit (someone will try to unhook, forcing you to m1)
    • Once you m1 someone, he'll run as fast as possible to the gate
    • During your recovery time, another gets the save, you hit them > recover > thy make distance
    • The 3rd one will body block you to prevent the down

Thats what actually happens when they know how to do it. Sure with spirit/nurse/blight you can manage to catch up and eventually maybe get another one. Then they reset and now the hooked person is closer to the gate, meaning you wont be able to do it again when tgey come for the save.

I'll say it once again : there are absolutely NO REASON for survivor to get free unhook possibility
Bubba deletes the possibility. Just leave then, someone is dead but you still won the game.

I don't mind killers having strong defense, but when most of the time it's a death sentence, then it's an issue to me.

You say deal with it, I'm allowed to speak on what me, and many other people believe. His current state of being able to face camp is ridiculous, he already got multiple buffs prior which makes him a solid killer overall in chase, why does he still need to be an absolute monster when it comes to camping?

Unhooking shouldn't be easy, yes I do agree with you on that, but to the point that saving is no longer even an option, I then believe that there needs to be a change. Let's compare killers like Artist, Dredge, or Xenomorph, killers that have restrictions near hooks, while Bubba doesn't. I'm not saying completely disable his chainsaw, but add some penalties to it if he stays near the hook.

Swarming a hook will result in trades anyways.

Bubba is still a pretty weak killer, its only a noob stomper

What restriction does xeno or dredge has when it comes to camping hook on EGC ? I'm curious

Unhooking results in trade only if you don't know how to do it. If 2 or 3 people comes in for the save, there is not really much you can do to prevent them from all getting out if they know what they are doing. If you always end up trading, you should watch some videos to see how it is done.

Bubba, like billy, like plague, like vecna, like myers, like trickster is a killer that makes unhooking pretty hard. That's one of their strength, why would you nerf that

  • @Spirit_IsTheBest said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3742298#Comment_3742298

I totally understand that, but my point is that the survivors should have a fair chance of getting a trade, but it's rather difficult because Bubba can quickly down both survivors, I feel that it shouldn't be a guaranteed death once Bubba camps someone during endgame.

Thats the way it is, some killer have strong defensive abilities, some dont. Ofc its easier to unhook in the face of freddy than bubba

Just deal with it and move on. Unhooking during EGC shouldnt be an easy mecanic. Its already free when you swarm a m1 killer, don't complain about the one you can't.

  • @Spirit_IsTheBest said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3742221#Comment_3742221

This was during endgame when the camp meter was gone. I see Bubbas a lot they tend to camp when the final gen is done.

And what is he expected to do ? Hook you then go on the gates to watch people leave while someone unhooks you and you exit through the other gate ?

Gens are done, there are no objective left to defend for the killer exept securing kills. That's a totally normal and expected behaviour.

I usually play fair, going for 12 hooks

Then this post is obviously not referring to you?

I get games where i go extra hard because survivors go extra hard, or i just had a game where i felt miserable. It happens to all of us so yeah, it does.

  • Did you ever consider that i don't want to waste time farming bp with you ?

I dont want to sit here and watch you do gens ?

I usually play fair, going for 12 hooks if i can and if the pace of the game permits it. If i see that i got 2 hooks with 2 gens done, yeah, im gonna try a little harder because im at a clear disadvantage and i still want to win

Sometimes, it happens that i stumble on the same person multiple times. Thats unlucky but i wont just ignore you and go to the other side of the map to hope to find someone (i do it when game is clearly one sided and i want to have some fun).

I'll give you hatch if i feel like giving you hatch.

It's not being a douchebag, its just playing the game. I play in the event mode because i find it fun. It doesn't mean that i want tofool around for 20 min, i want to actually play.

Don't expect people to play as you want them to. Expect them to play how the games allows it.

let’s not act like some killer players wouldnt ask to nerf any and everything in the survivor side please. This doesn’t mean that there aren’t nerfs needed (on both sides) - and imo(!), aura reading is a huge problem in lower skill ranges/for casual players.

Also, I really don’t see many people asking to buff maps for survivors, it’s more the other way around, no?

Asking for distortion nerf is then also pretty ironic if the argument is that people ask for too many nerfs..

(And just in case someone mentions it: holding the game hostage by not progressing the game should be addressed in another way as it’s even now a problem with aura reading perks in place. You shouldn’t be required as killer to run these perks just to avoid being held hostage)

"recent map sucks" "huge deadzone" "no pallet" "shrinked map suck, killers op now"

Oh yes, some people definitely do.

And yes there are some thing i would like to see nerfed on the survivor side (deja vu or toolboxes for example), thats true, its the way things are.

But i'm just trying to say that both sides have their own strong things. I'm personally fine with distorsion, i dont play aura reading on all my killers, and when i do and i don't see them, fine, i'll go for someone else, its not my experience that is impacted tbh, thats just a counter as lightborn is a counter to flashlight

I know that Haddie, Zarina, Rakoto or Soma don't get too much love, but Sable is also pretty new

    Feng moon, definitely

There are some i hate, some i like (i hate ace with passion cos i've been bullied by them too often), i love feng moon when they bring the bunny skin

But i've seen more sable since i came back (like 2 month ago or so) till the point i just have no pity for them when it comes to hatch 💀

  • Some killers are really scary on the game

Some sucks ass cos they cant avoid pallets

Map is kinda unique in its genre, let it exist

  • @Mooks said:

haven’t read the whole thread but imo the problem lies in too many too oppressive aura reading perks and player relying too much on them.

Distortion just highlights this problem combined with tunneling problem but nerfing Distortion will not really have the effect people are hoping for - it will just end up in some players evading the killer in other ways (Shadowstep, Lockers) or going down within seconds bc they are not that good in chases (and no, not everyone has the capabilities to be a god survivor and that’s okay). Same people hating on Distortion will just shift their hate to something else and the game will not really end up in a healthier state.

Imo, aura reading perks in general need some adjustments and Distortion can very much simultaneously get some nerf (eg only recharging in chase).

    The thing is

    People want to nerf regression
People want to nerf aura reading
    People want to nerf tunneling
    People want to nerf slugging
People want to nerf add ons
People want to buffs maps to help survivors

What are we suppose to bring as killers if you nerf all of perks ? Are we meant to play with predator, stridor and whispers only ?

  • Please let go of sable, im fed up about sable, i see two sable per game, its so boring

Thank god she doesnt have anything event related

  • @Archol123 said:

No clue, but in some sense the game gave you even more of what you wanted ^^

You decided to play the worst character in the game, so you somewhat wanted pain... And the game decided, you know what would be great, even more pain xD Kind of funny from that perspective..

If I had to guess it is either because of the temporary event pallets or because the map does not spawn place without pallets? Nostromo has quite a lot pallets, but they all kind of suck, I would assume there are just not many empty pallet spawns you could use? Even without the event? You could check it out in a custom lobby, I assume the event is not going to happen there?

I played pallet freddy on nostromo before, there are A LOT of space where you can put pallets in it actually.

But there, even on real pallet spawn that i destroyed, i couldnt put one, so i guess its buggued with the event

And yes, i love to torture myself, but it makes me laugh quiet a lot to chase survivor, see them use a palet, realise its fake then stop moving altogether accepting their fate

I think we have a case of "i got many hours but im terrible at the game but i think im actually pretty good and my opinion maters" thingy here

  • 2.5k hours and you are complaining about myers and bubba

    Actually pretty impressive

  • @solidestcross63 said:

Ormond is a survivor sides map he probably relies on the broken map (he probably brought the offering)

And myers is that weak in other areas to 'make up for' lack of tier 1 terror radius and his insta down/ insta mori. So if we remove those broken things we can buff his other areas

Right so you clearly don't know what you are talking about

Myers has no terror radius in tier 1, what an insuferable menace guys

  • Oh you mean like bubba ?

Funny i played against a realy good survivor the other day as bubba. He just ran me for 5 gens and i didnt want to leave him for some reason. He just went from pallet to pallet to pallet on ormond and there were literally nothing i could do (except drop chase and go for someone else, but i just wanted to push the thing out)

Now imagine with myers that cant break pallet this fast and has a limited insta down capacity. He also can run out of juice in the game (the only killer that has this downside btw). Yes, lets remove his ONLY strenght.

  • It's an ego inflated teenager thing that have too much time on their hands

As said, you go to a map, you alternate between one round of killer and one of survivor and the survivor that stays alive the longest wins

People asking for 1v1 after a pub match are usually poor human beings

  • Great, just a bait topic "us vs them"

People actualy complaining onother side's BP gain during the anniversary event , typical cry babies

"I wont bring a cake, THAT'll show them how angry i am 😡"

Good for you, you do you. If you get offended for this little, your life must be a walk in the park and i envy you.

I'm pretty sure they stated it was because of the pick rates.

Agreed, they wanted to nerf the meta perks

Pain res is still and will still be the most used perk in the game

As for op, no, its not "heavily killer sided", sure its more balanced than when you could abuse good ol dead hard and it must be a shock to actually have to play the game with less unfair advantage

  • Slow downs are absolutely mandatory on most of mid to low tier killers, thats just the way it is.

The problem is, and always has been, top tier killers that do stack slowdowns. The fact that nurse, blight and spirit exists and are more or less untouched is the real issue here.

If you want to limit slowdown this much, you'd have to either augment gen duration, GREATLY nerf gen speed perk (deja vu, pt, resi), and nerf comodious.

    Thats what we complain about

You cant trade if someone sabo in front of you, they can get hit>sabo>get away during your recovery time

And funny thing is, i met a survivor yesterday that didnt even knew sabo was buffed and replied "you couldnt down me because im good at the game", actually hillarious

They've tried this numerous times to give the 'secondary objective' that people (killers) are clamoring for.

But that alternative can't be beneficial to survivors, we tried that with boons.

It can't involve interacting with the killer, apparently, because bu+ftp, BP+FB, and now sabo.

The only thing that hasn't been complained about in this regard is the invocation, which, even after being buffed, is still a killer perk.

At this point, 'secondary objective' is just code for 'they need more gens'.

Apparently survivor mains cant understand basic math

Lets say you dont play nurse nd you want to have some fun with, idk, sadako

You enter a chase against a healthy survivor. It takes you roughly 1 min to get them down.

1 min chase means 3 min in survivor time wich means e3 gens that can be at 70%.

You want to pick up the downed survivor and hook them (YOUR PRIMARY OBJECTIVE)but someone comes in for the save.

Normally its fine, because that recquires actual planning wich means people getting off of gens to follow the killer around.

But in swf with old ftp bu, its a lose lose situation. You lost 1 min of your time and you now need 30 seconds more, which means 1 min more on gens (2 survs still doing gens). By the time you finally down the survivor again, those 3 gens i talked about just poped. 1 hook for 2 gens left.

    Same happened with backround player

    Same is happening with sabo.

Getting in the way of the killer main obj shouldnt be this eay. Im fine with the high risk high rewards. But new sabo is just about the reward, as were ftp+bu

When we say we want secondary obj for surv, its a way for them to not insta jump on gens. This or basekit corrupt would help killers imensly but thats another topic.

    Agree

Games should be like 10-15mins MAX and yeh it should be close that's what makes it fun otherwise it's killer shooting fish in a barrel 🙄

YOu can't expect a game to be 10-15 min max when the killer has to win lets say 9 chases on average, hook, kick gens, travel to another gen to find someone

It's mathematically impossible. Thats why pain res is such a popular perk, thats why grim is such a popular perk. It let you actually earn some time. Nerfing those perk and keeping the gen rush meta on survivor side (resi, deja vu, PT, comodious toolboxes) makes the game shorter yes, but heavily favors survivors.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

  • Remmember when devs wanted less slowdown stack ?

Guess what, now you have to stack even more to get value from it. On almost every killers i now run

Corrupt + pain res + grim embrace + surge

And of course, nurse and blight stay untouched and dont care about the nerf

Maybe someday, instead of making the life of mid tier killers miserable by nerfing slowdowns, they will actually nerf nurse and blight so we can have decent perks
