  • And anyone can try tell me BHVR is killer sided now...

    Try to match this one.

I think I could have lived with the removal of haste, for sure.

However, the scan line change makes no sense. And we still have no way to remove lock on stacks.

There is also not really way of gaining stacks, so why worry about removing...

  • Issue is you can Mori only last survivor, otherwise is useless, right?

So if it actually be enough BP, that is going to increase slugging for 4k a lot. If not enough, why ever use it over cake?

  • Why even nerf hindered?

Claw trap will be near impossible outside of chase and way more difficult during the chase. You can make it 100% and it's pointless.

Without haste, if undetectable didn't work (LoS), you are M1 killer without a power. Nothing in chase.

How more useless could killer be at this point?

Because the goal is not balance here. It's solely to please survivors who'll find something else to complain about and rage quit against that.

So my anger should be put on survivors? Good thing I got back to Blight, should be easy to do.

  • Yeah, that is going to be worst killer in DBD.

    Worse than Freddy.

Right into garbage, why is balancing so difficult for devs sometimes?

No haste and bad hindered? She is useless in chase without haste. You never get to hindered anyway.

Only one line? So she is forced to spam changing direction... That was supposed to be removed, not forced.

No scout drones, so basically impossible get claw trap outside of chase.

That's worst rework I have seen in my life.

You completely forget and ignore the fact that killers in most cases just instantly return to the hook to tunnel when the boom sound appears. It does not matter wether or not they have someone found already in most cases. This feature simply encourages tunneling and if behavior cares about the survivor experience, this would make it a lot less miserable. Killers could still easily tunnel, but they would be a bit more oblivious. We already had this in 2v8 and it didn‘t hinder killers tunneling capabilities, but there it was not as common and one factor was this.

You completely forget and ignore the fact that killers in most cases just instantly return to the hook to tunnel when the boom sound appears

Well, I am not doing it if I am already in chase and it doesn't happen when I play survivors often.

Issue is most survivors simply unhook too soon, then blame killer for their mistake.

Well a good point, it gives survivors some advantage, but I think it would make the game a lot more enjoyable, when the game does not actively tell the killer „go back to the unhooked person to tunnel them out“. You know what I mean?

I can also see hook turn when unhooking starts.

No idea what you mean with that?

Well, survivors shouldn't unhook until killer got in chase, or just wait as long as possible to work on gens.

If killer is still searching, you are asking him to return…

Survivors got increased timer for a reason, it's their issue, if they don't use it.

Preventing self unhook attempts Is an interesting thought, but it does come with complications…. if self unhooks were removed entirely without a perk… I would recommend Slippery Meat to be buffed accordingly to make slugging less appealing, since just the raw 6 attempts with a crap chance to succeed is a dead perk (more than it already is):

    Slippery Meat

In the most dire of situations, desperation can lead to a glimmer of hope…

When all other survivors are either in the Dying State, hooked or already dead, Slippery Meat activates:

    • Grants the ability to self unhook yourself

Slippery Meat is not available during the second Hook Stage or if you are hooked as the last living Survivor in the Trial, regardless of your Hook Stage then.

Though it does raise a few questions/thoughts:

    • Being completely unable to attempt to unhook yourself without a perk means the game must end when all survivors are hooked/dead… otherwise we're locked in till the timer goes down…
    • What happens to this version of Slippery Meat, Wicked and Deliverance? Do we not get to self unhook as the last hooked survivor regardless of stage 1 or stage 2 on all others survivors? We're already seeing a surge in slugging then taking 4 hooks, we may need to allow attempts while people have a perk active…
    • However if we do allow unhook attempts while a survivor is still stage 1 and Wicked, Deli and Slippery Meat are in play, does the killer get made aware in this scenario by the fact the game doesn't end?
    • If we're replacing with a bot if no skillchecks are attempted in stage 2, what about giving up for hatch? Do I have to deliberately miss skillchecks to excuse myself from the trial for hatch?
    • What about slugging for the 4k? With the inability to excuse yourself, Survivors are locked in for 60s plus the time it takes to ######### manually missing skillchecks. The last survivor has to survive this long for a chance at hatch… but there is still slugging for the 4k that trumps that, do we do anything about it?
    • If hatch is generally being made much harder to reach as a result of all of the above, should it spawn closed with 2 survivors left alive so the survivor can try and find it? Maybe have it unlockable with a key for 1 and only 1 player so that slugging for the 4k is less viable? Should a key be usable in the dying state?

Quickly becomes complicated the more I think about it ;D

    I wouldn't worry about slugging.

If I get full slug even now, I can just wait for survivor to try self-unhooking, but even if they do, then the moment they touch survivor I can down them before they pick them up.

It doesn't really change the situation much in my opinion.

I wouldn't mind that buff much for slippery meat tho.

Being completely unable to attempt to unhook yourself without a perk means the game must end when all survivors are hooked/dead… otherwise we're locked in till the timer goes down…

Already happens with second stage, can be changed for first stage too unless game detects active perk for it.

What happens to this version of Slippery Meat, Wicked and Deliverance?

Game should be able to track if such perk is active, no?

However if we do allow unhook attempts while a survivor is still stage 1 and Wicked, Deli and Slippery Meat are in play, does the killer get made aware in this scenario by the fact the game doesn't end?

That's true, but you don't know who has it. Also as I said, after group slugging, I usually wait for survivor hit second stage anyway... If they annoyed me

What about slugging for the 4k? With the inability to excuse yourself, Survivors are locked in for 60s plus the time it takes to ######### manually missing skillchecks. The last survivor has to survive this long for a chance at hatch… but there is still slugging for the 4k that trumps that, do we do anything about it?

Wouldn't that be better, so killer has good chance actually hook survivor instead of always slugging?

I can get same effect now with longer timer with slugging, right?

If survivor won't be able to kill themselves, I can simply hook them and have time to find other survivor.

That seems better for everyone than current situation when killers want 4k.

  • Yeah, just find someone to teach you, or play killer.

Honestly if bat had better (or same) tracking as Spirit there would be literally no reason to play Spirit anyways…

Not really, bat can't attack asap and has worse movement (turn rate). Also easily visible with huge lullaby.

Weird sound system is simply annoying to me.

There used to be no DC penalty in the past and there wasn't any major abuse of the system like you would expect. So either this helped the community regulate itself as I have seen some suggest, or somehow this wouldn't work today which is an odd thing to say without supporting evidence. At first it would probably be a lot though, there's no doubt about that.

Increasing the penalty is pretty similar to just making option 1 a thing. I guess you could also put both options together. You would probably need to triple down and begin reporting+banning people for not playing then, because otherwise I'm not sure if this would change much. Seems quite aggressive don't you think?

I'm down to have a team decide to forfeit the match as an alternative mechanic, and I guess making it so both sides could do it at a certain point is an interesting idea. I'm curious what that would look like. A simple number like 3-4ish minutes in is probably an okay starting point to keep it simple, but I do wonder if some combination of hooks and gens might be better.

There used to be no DC penalty in the past and there wasn't any major abuse of the system like you would expect.

Well, I think community is worse now compare to past.

Seems quite aggressive don't you think?

I don't like to play with people without self-control. This would help.

A simple number like 3-4ish minutes in is probably an okay starting point to keep it simple, but I do wonder if some combination of hooks and gens might be better.

If only timer, then something like 30 min.

    Otherwise for example:

    • All survivors are incapacitated for 20 seconds
    • Survivor was slugged more than 90 seconds straight

    For killer:

    • 60 seconds after all gens were finished
  • I think Huntress is in quite a good spot. She is not best killer in DBD, but definitely viable if you learn snipes.

Main issue are maps. Not that fun on indoor maps.

  • I kinda like idea to increase base brightness (so survivors can see little bit better), but go back to dark version while in chase (maybe let it linger when chase ends)

  • I wonder how they are going to change Distortion. Would be very sad, if rats lost their Infinite hiding.

Devs should really change crows so you can't ignore them so easily.

  • I can see it on HUD and when I have LoS on distance, it will be easier for me to see where you are running. It gets blocked by that black circle now for a reason.

I can also see hook turn when unhooking starts.

  • I would be fine with 1, simply except you have perk for it.

    2. Hell no, you would need to disable it for both sides and that can't end well. DBD would become queue simulator.

    3. Survivors DC for ANY reason. They do it in highly questionable situations (about to die in 5 seconds later). You can't fix that.

    4. Most likely outcome

I would just increase penalty instead. If you don't want to play, then don't play at all.

Remove self-unhooking unless you have got perk for it and if survivor ignores two skill checks in second phase they get replaced by a bot.

Implement some reasonable feature for both sides, so they are free to give up in hopeless situation. (Combination of gens, hooks, dead survivors, survivors on ground, timer) Survivor gets replaced by a bot and game ends for now if killer gives up.(Game ends when all survivors become bots)

What's wrong with playing Dracula like Spirit? All they did was make Bat better which is what people asked for, saying Bat was mediocre.

What's wrong with arguably the most overpowered form being nerfed a little? Wolf Form will still be fine and viable.

Try one game as Spirit and then one game as Bat.

Bat is way worse for tracking survivors by sound.

Shapeshift cooldown reduced by HALF (it was 5s and now is 2,5s).
This is probably to mitigate this issue (transforming into the wrong form in the heat of the hunt).

Konami is the one to blame for this.
Castlevania is stucked in a limbo for more than a decade now. :(

It's awesome that DbD and Castlevania got a collab, but now we need a Castlevania collab with Castlevania.

I will give him few games, but most likely return to my mains again.

They made tricksters hitboxes smaller? I had no idea, I feel his buffs to his movement speed were a step in the right direction but I do feel the extra hits were necessary to make sure his ricochet and pierce didnt get too out of hand… but they could have also just targetted those addons.

Not smaller hitbox, but feel of the killer is completely different than before rework in my opinion and it really didn't improve.
If they only made him 115% and nothing else, then it would be amazing. Maybe also lower recoil a little, but they just had to do so many changes….

"my intention to win at all costs HAS WEAKENED" and I wrote further that I play pretty chill. I play for chases for last 1-2 years and usually don't sweat my butt to win, at least not from the start of the game.Yeah, mmr cap should be increased. What's the point of it, if I get newbies in one match and then comp players literally in the next one. Same on survivors. How do I keep getting teammates, who can't hit 3 skillcheks in a row?
But I'm talking not about that. I'm talking about how often streamers get really good survivors in comparison with me, player who don't play that much and don't win that much. Maybe really region thing.

my intention to win at all costs HAS WEAKENED

But you clearly used to play in such way, no?

I play for chases for last 1-2 years and usually don't sweat my butt to win

    Timeframe is quite important

How do I keep getting teammates, who can't hit 3 skillcheks in a row?

Yeah survivor's MMR is definitely an issue. Thing is if you get bad teammates, you are likely to die, which is going to give you even worse teammates next game and repeat.

I have played full SWF for several years, so when I play soloQ now, it's actually quite good, because my teammates are usually decent at least.

I'm talking about how often streamers get really good survivors in comparison with me

Region, time, maybe they lose off stream, or they are just very good, so survivors seem bad to people watching.

I have seen scrims with Xeno(player), where someone asked if it's public game and those were comp players... Quite funny burn

I regularly play with survivors having playtime in thousands. Streamers (Hans was fun), or actually comp players.

Well, I definitely deserve those for my past, so don't really complain.

It's quite fun to have challenge. I personally prefer it over babies.

Why you get them? hard to tell. I don't think it's really hard to get on MMR cap with killer, if when you are not trying much (same as old rank 1)

  • my intention to win at all costs

    That's why...

I am not much better, but when you try to win every game, you will play against survivors with same mindset sooner or later.

It could be understandable if I got them on my main killers

There is limit how much lower you can get compare to highest MMR killer.

Not a good thing if you want to learn new killer tho...

How the hell I keep getting all these lobbies, playing killers 1-2 times in week in pretty chill way

Well, there is MMR cap. So even if streamer has several thousands higher MMR, if you have enough yourself, then your chances are exactly same.

Otherwise depends on region and time when you play.

  • Seems like a good way to make killer worse overall.

I would rather do minor changes than completely change overall feel of the killer.

We have seen this with Trickster and I consider it a mistake.

  • I wouldn't give back manual scamper for sure, but current version should be buffed.

There are several possible ways how to buff either scamper, or dash after scamper.

    • Speed of scamper
    • Higher turn rate
    • increase remaining duration

Definitely fix the bug... This one is very broken.

  • I have started to use DH with Iron Will since IW buff and didn't really have an issue.

Maybe ping issue? My ping is very low, so maybe that's why.

Yea it was pretty easy to do, but I aswell also miss it (from the Survivor's POV of course), it was a fun Perk.

How could you miss it when you used to mainly for distance? I can't reach window/pallet, press E.

It was equally difficult to miss for swing as current DH, but you had more attempts per game.

  • @ZamasuManzon said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3796177#Comment_3796177

If this would become a feature (which will probably not) I would have no complaints.
Wolf for me is pretty good to gain distance and the pounce works like a weaker version of Wesker's power, so I'm pretty familiar on how to make it work on loops. :)
Since the Bat can't see blood and the damn noise is too loud for the Dracula player I avoid using it to track survs mid chase because I could end up losing them for some of their shenanigans. :P

I hate Bat sound so much. It's very funny how much worse tracking with Bat is compare to Spirit.

But isn‘t the new deadhard stronger if you don‘t miss it. New dead hard gives a lot more distance by the sprint and the killer has to clean the weapon. With the old one you just got a short sprint, which made the killer miss, which didn’t give that much distance like current one.

Back to topic. I want a gamemode with just old stuff and old perks so badly, where we have the prime version of every perk. Old dead hard was so much fun. I would want it back as a dodge perk without the invincibility.

But isn‘t the new deadhard stronger if you don‘t miss it. New dead hard gives a lot more distance by the sprint and the killer has to clean the weapon. With the old one you just got a short sprint, which made the killer miss, which didn’t give that much distance like current one.

You need to time it/bait killer to swing, that's simply more difficult than DH for distance.

Main difference is you don't have it for first chase and you have max 2 attempts. Before it was regular exhaustion perk, so killer had to bait it every time.

Of course effect is better, when it's more limited. That makes sense.

My friends say I should but I got some strong anxiety so it's been a struggle to bring myself to try again.

Legion makes actually sense for this.

You don't really need tracking and have build in slowdown to some extent.

Groups where you lose, which split/bodyblock while mending, would probably win even if you have perks, so it doesn't change much.

From all characters I managed to play perkless on Blight and Legion.

I like either endgame, or chase build on Legion tho. It's fun...

I mean you can sort of flick the wolf's pounce and it helps A LOT to get hits.

    Crap. :(

because people want to play using bugs

I mean, they can just let him slide by default... Bug makes him actually decent.

Wolf is going to be quite weak after they "fix" him imo.

  • I have played Dracula quite a lot, but I will definitely drop him, because of hugtech fix.

I think Trevor is ugly and if I was honest about his looks, I would probably get banned.

I instantly bought Alucard tho and have him as side main after Jeff…

  • Not really imo, it was easy and cheap.

Oh no, I got outplayed. Press E

  • Yeah, I can relate after losing filters...

DBD is bad to play during the day. Luckily I usually play later in the evening.

Interesting how DBD doesn't have brightness filter as most other games.

  • A lot of survivors

I have started to play current DH with Iron Will and it's quite fun to use imo. Old DH was brainless to use.

  • In my 30-40 games past weeks on survivors, I think we have met 2.

I don't think neither of them managed 4k. One game was very fun, because we got 4 out in soloQ while he was endgame camping...

I am personally not interested in playing him and I am not worried about him even in soloQ. Unless he brings double iri...

  • Nice, wanna stream? You might get very popular if you manage that without tunneling as soon you get an option.

If you always 8 hook without perks, then I would respect that even on Blight/Nurse.

Unless you then let all of them leave on purpose to lower MMR. We have seen this one before.

  • @Langweilig said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3795281#Comment_3795281

You can simply make gaps in some structures like Badham has few spots, but they don't think about totems at all with map design, then just randomly place them around, which creates such terrible spawns.

Leri's, Badham and some others have this. So totem is inside some small structure of grass, or boxes etc.

Sadly you are right they do not really care about hexes and boons. I really hope they give boons and hexes some buffs in the next update since they said they want to make a lot of perks better there.

Having the boons spawn like on those maps would be great, but it would still not do much on most maps when they are small. Those two maps are relatively big and have a lot of walls, which make hiding them better. The other maps simply do not have those advantages.

You can also use corners of map, they don't need to be put in middle. I am pretty sure I would be able to find enough hiding spots on most maps, except Eyrie of Crows probably...

I would like it, but this change would make boons even worse than they already are and on the other side many survivors would probably complain, which would lead to one of the fastest reverts.

I personally enjoyed NOED, Ruin, Undying meta. There was a reason to use anti hex perks. They are garbage now, because hex builds are mostly trash.

Survivors to complain about better totem spawns just have skill issue in my opinion.

There is a pattern, which would probably stay, so as soon I find 1 totem, I can easily find rest of them.

Eyrie of crows is probably only map beyond saving. Light, open, no gabs. Just bunch of straight loops and rocks. There are several spots where I can see 2 totems at the same time.

  • @Langweilig said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3795432#Comment_3795432

Not being able to do anything now is even less fun. I do not like ending chases extremely fast on either side and to immediately die or kill survivors in a chase

How am I supposed to make it harder? I’m not playing meta perks as killer or the best killers and I do not tunnel. I play what I find fun and swap many builds. Maps are already extremely easy as killer and instead of them making the few killers, who are actually bad better. They make every killer easy mode by making maps and their loops super easy.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3795445#Comment_3795445

Yes, but why do they only fix killer issues and no survivor issues and why did they make some of the loops even worse instead of just adding those line of sight blockers? The map wasn’t bad for killer before and one of the stronger killer maps.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3795460#Comment_3795460

This is such a stupid way to balance the game since the better killers will perform even better now, so you have even less chances and then also buffing most killers every update is not the smartest move in combination.

Having it super easy as killer isn‘t even fun and constant struggling as survivor at the same time…

Midwitch wasn‘t even a map where killers struggled and it was actually a map that was better for weaker killers.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3795605#Comment_3795605

Well hillbilly might not be able to use his power that well to travers, but it is still easier for him like for the other killers now.

There might be a lot of pallets, which are needed, because of the size and other stuff, but there is still not enough stuff for survivors and now even less.

So how exactly is this map better for survivors now? Loops are worse, (breakable walls are many gone which helped you to get a bit of distance, don‘t know wether or not most a re gone), the clutter slows down survivors massively and hinders them to prerun+to see the killer, so there is no improvement for survivors on a map that was already really good for killers.

It shows again how much the devs hand hold the killers.

How am I supposed to make it harder?

    • No slowdown perks
    • No more than yellow addon rarity
    • Always 8 hook before kill
    • No slugging
    • No camping
    • No map offerings (just use BP offerings)
    • No lobby shopping
    • Never drop chase
    • Don't play top 3 killers
    • Adepts

Important thing, kill any survivor you can. If you just let survivors escape, then it will never actually get difficult...

Some of those are more extreme than others, many will make game more stressful in reality and be quickly forgotten.

Especially never drop chase would lose anyone many games.

If you like actually strong killers, you can play without perks, if you think you are that good.

I play Blight with endgame build, so survivors have chance to get there at least, then I start trying...

I have seen some good killers without perks, or with 1 info perk. I definitely respect it, but most of them will kill a survivor as soon they have chance for it.

If you just don't use any slowdown and try to always hook 8 times before killing anyone, then unless you keep letting survivors escape on purpose, at some point they will do it without your help.

This is what I'm saying I don't use it on Survivor side, but as soon as I switch to killer at least 3-4 every game, it's so annoying, how are you to improve against Holding W as some killers with no mobility, it wastes so much time and takes 0 effort. "Skill issue" or not, it's harmful to casual dbd play I feel

Well, it's needed for casual DBD.

Most players are simply terrible. WoO is perfect training wheels, issue is many survivors will never start to walk themselves...

I would fix it by simply creating valid perk to counter it. Ultimate Weapon was good for it, but they nuked it as they often do with perks. It was very simple to fix, but it's useless now.

Issue is Blindness not really good alone, so you need secondary effect. Another issue is survivors with WoO, or other info perks hate to lose those effects (reality check).

Doesn't matter what some say, BHVR did, does and will create nerfs where only reason is not fun for players.

  • I don't really think it needs nerf, but recently I forced myself to stop using it.

WoO and Lithe will let even worst survivor have good chase. Vault window and follow yellow color...

Issue is you will never really improve your looping skill, because you don't need to.

I kinda enjoy that I am forced to get maximum value out of every loop, because I don't know if zone next to me is safe or not... It makes survivor for me way more entertaining.

It was hilarious with Ultimate Weapon to watch survivors run like headless chicken when they lost WoO. Sadly there is not really good blindness perk for chase now.

Honestly I agree it feels better when playing as him, but on survivor PoV the sound doesnt play half the time when he preps it and the latency will show him hitting somewhere you never even touched (not drift tech, a desync atm), but as it stands he just spirals out of control in Late game and he is now even better at tunneling than before.

It's mainly a thing where it must look fine on LAN but awful on higher latency, so they never pay attention nor refine it.

Well, sound in DBD is weird for both sides right now. I don't think that's Nemi issue.

it stands he just spirals out of control in Late game and he is now even better at tunneling than before.

Even at tier III he is neither best chase, or best tunneling killer.

    awful on higher latency

Higher latency is terrible basically for any online game. Shooters are unplayable with high latency.

  • I am from EU and 21:00-1:00 is usually for the killer...

Even when it's for survivors, I never had an issue with queue times.

  • Nemesis changes limited to his tentacle are better option overall in my opinion. It is direct feedback for the killer (how he feels to play) yet because of slow early game, basic movement speed and additional hits, he can't really get too strong.

If you focused on zombies, he won't really be that much better, his effectiveness will be random based on zombies.

Also if zombies get too good/reliable, I think there is definitely chance for him to become most obnoxious killer in DBD. It would be highly annoying to deal with unless you got flashlight/one of few perks to deal with them.

  • I always find people who say killers are too easy hilarious.

Pick most meta build, so they can to stomp soloQ groups and then complain about it.

Well, then challenge yourself, so it's more entertaining for you and survivors. No slowdown perks and always 8 hooks is good start.

Have some self-control, it's not like BHVR needs to do it for you.

We will see how long that will last to you...

  • Interesting, I lost interest in sloppy butcher completely. It's not really better than some add-ons we can use for exactly same effect.

Sloppy is 90 seconds, where survivor can wait on hook up to 70 seconds. So if survivors want they don't really need to wait that long...

It can have meaning in two scenarios:

    • You regularly drop the chase, which is viable to few killers (Wraith)
    • You always return to hook and hope survivors heal there and won't manage in time

Issue is Wraith has addon (and several other killers) to get basically Sloppy butcher for 70 seconds (on surprise attacks). I don't see value of perk, which I can get from addon.

I am going to choose almost any other slowdown over sloppy.

I never said they were better versions of them? I'm well aware of the shortcomings. All I said was that they're harder to dodge because, as the OP said, there's no audio indicator that Hellfire is being charged.

Well, compare properly, not only what fits you.

Even with low audio cue, they can't be used well without LoS and their visual is quite easy to notice. So I don't think it's an issue...
