what are these disadvantages to hooking you speak of
- Time waste.
- There are many perks around hooks for survivors. Why let them use it, if you didn't bring any?
- Risk of getting stunned/flashlight saved when picking up.
If I have 1/2 survivors already hooked, fresh hooks are pointless unless I use perk for it. It's better to always slug them and go for next chase.
-
I have no idea why they didn't revert those gen kick nerfs when they implemented 3-gen feature.
-
What's your build?
Legion is required to use chase perks to be viable.
I like to use either Enduring/Bamboozle, or Enduring/Spirit Fury.
Then two slowdown perks of your choice.
Enduring is an amazing perk for Legion, especially survivors try to stun you out of your power, you often end on same side for instadown. Otherwise just no need to respect pallets is good when you have no time to waste.
-
From my personal experience (when I play survivor), I have recently removed WoO from my build and I have found it forced me actually try to loop way more.
Survivors with WoO see yellow color and simply run as long they get away with it, because they simply don't need to risk and try to loop killer.
So I will probably use WoO only when new maps are released.

It was also when she had an access to exposed and pallet breaking on vaults… That's way stronger than hindered btw.
Haste is outdated, that's why I would rework it around either 1, or 2 tokens. Definetly not remove it. -
annoying parts of her kit while still keeping her strength (For the love of god remove haste, it is unnecessary)
So not really keeping strength, if you want to remove her main strength for looping…
I don't care about broken and hindered, but she is trash without haste and undetectable. -
I still don't mind the map overall, but randomization of some windows can be definitely annoying.
-
His counterplay is exactly same as before. Nothing really changed about that.

I find kinda funny that what you described sounds as an amazing game to me, yet you act like it's end of the world...
I guess different expectations.

??? He's frequently played in DbD League. He's a 3 gen monster on indoor maps.
He is played and put into best possible map he can get, but it's not like he regularly gets 4k even on Leri's.
But it won't be really good for him on most maps and they have played in Shelter Woods. That's not an indoor map… -
Means kinda nothing when we can't see the games.
Most likely the skill issue.
It's not that difficult to escape even as soloQ sometimes, but as full SWF? Just cmon… -

I'd like to use it more, but that thing wobbles more than carrying a survivor equiped with Boil Over. You waste an immense amount of time trying to get through a simple door. In its current state it's nothing more than a teleportation tool, which is dependent on an addon to have a decent range.
You waste an immense amount of time trying to get through a simple door
Yeah, I have had issue with this too. It is hell to use on RPD, or Leri's.
-
I think it makes sense for him to be survivor… I already made him my second main :D
-
Issue is most killers can't really act based on all that information properly and those who can are not really build around M1.
-
Not really any specific killer for me.
It's more like few add-ons. I hate Shackles Hag so much...

These are mine atm. As you see Sonar has a nice preset made for dead by daylight alone which ive been using. I can hear breathing sounds and small things really well.
Ok, that's actually really cool.
I was thinking about new headphones, which one do you use?

Yeah i might have to mess with my Sonar settings from steelseries to see if i can get it better. Its also so high pitched it kinda hurts my ears. I main spirit so keeping my headset on 100 im used to but damn these bat noises makes me crazy and i really do otherwise enjoy playing Daddy Dracula.
Luckily because of how high it is, you can reduce it without messing with other sounds much.
-
Damn, I will have to play burned Huntress skin today...
-
@Hannacia said:
Yeah i can't hear much when using the bat form. The sounds are way too loud for the killer. So i only use the bat form for traveling. They really should lower the bat sounds at least for the killer.
Yeah, I couldn't care less for huge lullaby to inform everyone about it, but this actually hinders the gameplay.
PC can mostly fix it, at least those willing, but consoles are super screwed.

OMG, sorry, i misunderstood it. I thought it referred to the area around the damaged generators. Now that I’ve read it again, I see it actually refers to the area around the killer. I apologize for missing that
Btw it's good on killers with fast teleport like Sadako, or Unknown.
You can combine it with Lethal Pursuer and check locations other than just gen area.
-
That's why I currently enjoy playing The Blight most. Sure he takes some time to get used to, but unlike other killers, I have never had a game, where I was without a chance to win.
I definitely had games with Wraith, Legion, Deathslinger, or Skully where I just had no chance for a good result.
-
They can't really do this, because than other kicking perks start working. Like oppression with pop.
Nowhere to hide is already best aura reading perk for most killers.
-
His range always extended in tier III.
Now difference between tier II and III is simply more noticable, but I don't really feel any big difference about Nemi overall...
-
Yeah, true.
I hate bat sound so much...
Wolf without hugtech has very limited use imo.
Kinda sad, I would love to play more on animal forms, but right now you transform, use their power and go back to Vampire asap.
-
Lol, that is way bigger nerf than anything they did in this patch.
He is also not really that stronger anyway.

I don't think Bloodlust should get removed entirely, I just think it should be a lot more rare tbh. You have so many killers starting chases with playing for bloodlust.
Well, there are killers who can be completely without power for some time during the game.
Legion, Plague, Ghostface, Myers, Oni, Twins, Trapper, Vecna
Then specific loops for 110% killers.
So if bloodlust should not happen, then chases would need to be faster even without it and long periods of hold W couldn't exist.
There are simply killers, if survivor holds W, you will get bloodlust no matter what.
-
@AmpersandUnderscore said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3789383#Comment_3789383
According to the stats killers hit bloodlust tier one in over 70% of games
Source?
I also doubt that there's any way to discern if bloodlust is needed by map design or if the killer is playing in ways that bloodlust is more common simply from one stat.
For examples: Is this just killers respecting pallets too much unnecessarily? Or is this just a case of things like skull merchant drops a drone at every pallet and the only gameplay is to hold w, which basically forces bloodlust?
I don't think Bloodlust 3 is needed, but completely removing bloodlust is a huge nerf for some killers (basically any killer who has a moment without power no matter what) and new maps are not going to end well…
I would refuse to play Midwitch without blood lust. That's hold W simulator.
Hold W is already very strong thing to do against most killers and it would be way better without bloodlust.
Huntress/Trickster/Deathslinger on rock loops without bloodlust? You have nothing to do there. -
This is my setting, it doesn't change sound much for me except Bat. You can do definetly more, but it starts affecting other sounds little.

You can lower the volume but cannot isolate it out of the mix.
I have tested it anyway and if you lower everything above 4.5 kHz, then it helps a lot with Bat sound.
-
So just an information for those who are interested.
I got an idea this could be fixed with equalizer settings and from my testing it can be.
Bat's noice is very high pitched, way higher than normal sounds in DBD, so if you reduce everything above 5 kHz it is going to affect the bat sound a lot. I have tried it today and it was so much better.
So if you like Dark Lord and want to use Bat for chase, this might help you with it. -

This makes wolf somewhat valid at least...
It's way more difficult than Blight's hug tech tho. You don't see anything with wolf.

Slinger example against genrushing team if slinger is actually good works really well. He has no map pressure, but he can down people like REALLY quick. And he can proxy into down almost at unhook. If the whole team takes only genrush stuff and nothing to combat camping/tunneling, then my money is on slinger (again, provided we are not talking about old red forest).
As for Legion example - you deliberatelly didn't read that I said about new team? Like I said it out right - genrush build in hands of new (even new-ish) players is worse then "normal" build and they would absolutely get wiped out by even a bad legion (for example, because they would group and give him 5th hit). And new players will 100% totally not know to bodyblock when mending. Sure - it will be very much different in skilled team - hence Legion is real bad in comp settings. But that wasn't the premise.
Gen rush is not popular simply because it's boring. Most players don't have only goal to escape as fast as possible, people want to have a chase. Genrush doesn't allow it.
You say this, but facecamping Bubba, tombstone piece meyers, camping with prepared projectile pinky finger/iri hatchet were still a thing and I would say I saw it more often then true 4-man genrush squad (not more often then single survivor taking full genrush build). And it still was quite common (not every game, not most game, but people were not surprised to see it). Some people do want to just win no matter how fun/unfun things they have to do to get it. And these things needed to be looked at (and they also were - a lot of things on both sides were looked at - like proofthyself even though I considered it noob trap (because grouping) and overall killer's advantage was nerfed because of genrush) while others are still present in game (kill addon meyers can even facecamp, camping from distance with 1-hit downs projectile killers, no revert to speed buff from dejavu, etc).
I think the healing nerf didn't put it quite at 60% yet, but you might be right and I can be wrong on this one (there were quite a few map nerfs after it as well). If so, then OK - time flies by quicker then I expected. But still - the kill rate didn't go back to when the game was enjoyable to me - it was still somehow OK when the kill rate was on average 55% (that means killers win 22% more then survivors) compared to current 60% (50% more wins then survivor) and I am still counting hatch escape as full survivor win even though I shouldn't (because of missing stats of how often it's used). This already wasn't fair state, but it was still tolerable in my eyes.
he can proxy into down almost at unhook
So free time on gens for survivors. So smart...
He has no map pressure, but he can down people like REALLY quick
Not reliable on many maps, I can just predrop pallets. Also not difficult to dodge after his nerfs...
you deliberatelly didn't read that I said about new team
So survivors struggle when they are new to the game? Damn, what a new concept...
tombstone piece meyers, camping with prepared projectile pinky finger/iri hatchet were still a thing
Didn't play against it for a long time and it's not really that boring.
facecamping Bubba
Wasn't that boring, most survivors tried to save... Also not really possible now and even worse with current patch.
But still - the kill rate didn't go back to when the game was enjoyable to me - it was still somehow OK when the kill rate was on average 55%
I personally don't ever want to go back. I enjoy playing both sides, chase is what matters for me and it's not really that worse on most maps.
I consider the game way more balanced right now than in past.

Bat for you can’t see survivors or attack immediately though… it feels clunky in my humble opinion.
Bat should get buffed in form of easier survivor tracking by sound. It's terrible to use for this.
But Bat can teleport, fly over windows/pallets and have basekit Zhansin's tactic. Unlike Wraith, or Spirit.
Not being able to attack is not the issue. Issues are movement (feels weird) and sound tracking.
-
I hope not.
It's actually quite difficult to do, because you don't see anything while using it.
Wolf is going to be very weak without it. You would be able to use him only for some wall loops.
-
@dbd900bach said:
Yea, it's really hard to track properly mainly because the bats make so much noise themselves. They're also not the greatest traversal tool either because survivors have to actively be making scratch marks or doing gens. It's actually easier for them to hide, especially if they have a perk to hide scratch marks since you'd have to exit bat form to see them.
I usually use bat, immediately teleport in direction I want to go, then transform to wolf, then Vampire for most loops.
I would love to use Bat more for chase to gain distance after first hit etc, but it's just not possible right now for me.

A year ago, killers didn't have 60% kill rate on average (but I will give you that year ago stated goal by devs was to get there), so overall things that were done in last year absolutely were not to help survivors (with exception to the queue times - by it seems alienating players like me for one thing).
Concerning the streak - the difference is, that comp survivor team (or weak killer on the other side) can try and still most likely fail to end such a streak - hence 2k blight wins compared to only 200 win streak on survivors or on onrio.
As for most killers being unable to combat super heavy genrush - true if you talk about player base. Not true if you talk about best players on their main. Even insane Deathslinger would be able to do a lot about it given reasonable map (not old cowshed, but he also doesn't need Saloon), because of lack of any defense.
And of course if you take 4 brand new players and give them best genrush build, even bad legion would wipe them out without any difficulty. Otherwise kill rate would not be 60% and genrush build would be much more popular (same reason why you used to face facecamping bubba in at minimum 10% of your games in up-to mid MMR - it was boring, but you just won. So there were quite a number of killers that did it before self-unhook was added. And I can name quite a number of other examples like this if u want)
killers didn't have 60% kill rate on average
They did… We got on 60% because of healing nerf patch, which was more than a year ago.
6.7.0 was released March 2023so overall things that were done in last year absolutely were not to help survivors
They were, those changes were probably implemented to "compensate" for healing nerf, which was more than a year ago.
hence 2k blight wins compared to only 200 win streak on survivors or on onrio
Well, when you want to count only recent streaks. I find the issue that Blight streak was done before his changes. So better addons and hug tech.
Would be probably easier to stop it now for comp team.Even insane Deathslinger would be able to do a lot about it given reasonable map
Lol, talking about gen rush and you pick Deathslinger? He is not known for his map pressure, quite the opposite.
even bad legion would wipe them out without any difficulty
Again very bad example. Any good SWF is going to clean the floor with Legion and there is very little he can do about it. He is M1 killer and they are not going to give him even second hit with his power…
It's clear you never played Legion against team, where mending survivors bodyblock.Otherwise kill rate would not be 60% and genrush build would be much more popular
Those kill rates are because of soloQ and simply new players. Blight, or Nurse are not reason behind 60% kill rates.
Gen rush is not popular simply because it's boring. Most players don't have only goal to escape as fast as possible, people want to have a chase. Genrush doesn't allow it. -
Good luck using map offerings if this ever gets live…
I would prefer if "fast" way of giving up was not available for anyone.
But also create late game cases, when game is decided, where it will be possible to give up.
With killer, probably end the game and survivors would be replaced by bots? -

What i dont think its "that" needed is the 48m lullaby. Survivors literally hear a global cue when he transforms, i dont think its needed to also give them information when you are getting 48m closer to them…for a supposed "undetectable" form.
I also think it would be nice to speed up the teleport speed, i think the speed addon should be totally basekit. The range could also see some tweaks, as it is already handicapped by being only on vaulting points (yes, i know you can get a lot more vaulting points by leaving pallets on the ground, but thats also a double-edged sword as the survivors can keep using them).
Though i like that strategy around pallets. I try to only break the safest ones or the ones where there is not a single window in many metters around.
If he has to have lullaby, I definetly prefer it to be so massive. It affects survivors you have no intention even chase. Definetly better than smaller (more precise) lullaby.
Sound on killer side is what hinders the usage for chase, so that's my main issue. -

I would guess that's what actually matters, they made game easier for survivors...
So if killers got buff to always have instadown, but lost their M2 + got changed their base speed to 3m/s, than that would be ok. Because by your logic devs think about killers as they clearly got buff (instadown) and it doesn't matter that the game got literally overall unplayable for them. Do I get your logic right? Or the overall big picture and the resulting state (as seen by outrageious kill rates) is more important?
If you didn't enjoy the game back then and enjoy it now, then i guess good for you. For me the game lost all it's appeal. I see it as just unfair. And when they changed hook density on most maps (by e.g. leaving the same number of hooks but skrinking most maps), the game just lost me (and no, the speed buffs and everything else after 6.1 didn't make it worth again. I didn't care to reinstall for last sabo buffs because they are fundamentally useless as killer can get to 3 hooks). Which is strange, because even at version 6.1, which was bruttal, the game was probably my the most liked game. Probably that is also the reason why I even come back here from time to time.
As for you saying 500+ is a lie... AFAIK Hens's group with about 232 escapes or something like that was the record in "modern" DBD (and ot actively ended by single comp killer). There was supposed to be really 500+ win streak, but that was very long before my time (meaning 2019 or older) - that's why i explicitly omitted that (the game back then was survivor sided and it was problem). But maybe there's a new record since I stopped playing? I seriously doubt it, but if there is, then please point it to me. I want to be corrected on this.
As for genrush under 4 mins - that 2k blight winstreaker would have 0 problem with that. Ayrun was already explaining it when he was doing his genrushes - there's no spot for 2nd chance or any defense, so if you actually get strong chase killer, genrush build falls apart really quickly.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3787142#Comment_3787142
You said it yourself. In single trial killer gets 2wins and 2 losses (actually possibly 2 wins, 1 loss and 1draw). Calling that unfair, because the only fair thing in pvp game is "me" (my side) winning more then my opponent "just because TM" is the definition of being entitled (to free wins). You can't follow MMR win condition, being happy with current state (in sense of calling it fair) and not being entitled. 1 of those 3 needs to go
So if killers got buff to always have instadown, but lost their M2 + got changed their base speed to 3m/s, than that would be ok. Because by your logic devs think about killers as they clearly got buff (instadown) and it doesn't matter that the game got literally overall unplayable for them.
Thank you for proving my point. Changes matters… Overall outcome is based on changes that were made and last year changes were better for survivors.
If you didn't enjoy the game back then and enjoy it now, then i guess good for you.
I enjoyed gameplay overall in both, but I didn't enjoy waiting 10 minutes to play survivor. I don't really have an issue playing survivors now, so why would I want to changed?
AFAIK Hens's group with about 232 escapes or something like that was the record in "modern" DBD (and ot actively ended by single comp killer). There was supposed to be really 500+ win streak, but that was very long before my time
Well, but high streak exists even lately. Over 200 streak is a lot and you said it was stopped by comp killer. It's almost like both sides filled with comp players need another comp player/s team end it… Who would have thought?
As for genrush under 4 mins - that 2k blight winstreaker would have 0 problem with that.
That's why I wrote "most killers" :)
So to deal with actual gen rushing squad, you need to be a comp player and play either Nurse, or Blight. Sure, that seems right… -
Some perks should be mutual exclusive perks with other perks or if you use them together they are less efficient.
That would be hell to balance and even more hell for new players. That would be very confusing.
As soon you bring anything like this, spams for banning combinations will be insane.
