This whole comment chain is a mess. Why can't this playerbase have one discussion that doesn't devolve into arguments? I swear, you could make a post about chicken fingers and eventually there'll be an argument.

Indeed lol. But i can't help it, i've been dodged enough times to make me make a thread about it (and i got patience).
Honeslty, i don't get why people keep dodging everything they don't like. Do they realize this is just a damn game?

Yeah, I see what you mean. I've seen it from both angles where I've been dodged over and over or I'm playing a killer and someone DCs because of whatever reason and screws over the others. I feel like both sides are guilty of wasting everybody's time.

@ShrimpTwiggs @yes the devs are Canadians, so unless they speak on French for their free time, the only excuse for those misspellings are lack of attention.

Some of them could be from Quebec. The language there is french.

That's a valuable excuse, but I highly doubt that all the devs are from Quebec. Principally all the perk designers. Some of them might be, some not.

Fair point, but their might be only one person in charge of the quotes and lore. They could be from Quebec.

  • There's a misspelling on the Ormond offering as well. I cut a bit of slack to the devs though, since English probably isn't their first language.

  • The worst parts of these maps are the walls. Being able to see through them deletes mindgame potential.

  • Wow, it's amazing how much survivors have become hated. It's gotten to a point that if someone suggests the slightest buff toward them, they shoot it down without bothering to actually read the reasoning behind it.

If disconnecting is that big of a deal, they shouldn't have given us the option to quit matches. It's not like we're closing the game.

I try really hard not to quit the game and just take the death, but if I play 3 matches in a row where I'm the first one hooked and either get unhooked in front of the killer, just to be hooked again or don't get unhooked at all or at the last second, I quit sometimes but it's rare. But this game is more fun for the killer than survivors, well sole Survivors like me.

It's not like we're not punished for quitting, we lose Blood Points and go down 2 pips in rank.

Though it does mess up your teammates but it happens. I was in a match where I didn't disconnect and I was the only one in the match. Yes I got hooked, didn't disconnect and the killer still got bonus BP from the disconnecting party.

The option to quit matches should stay in the case that things outside the game's norm happen, such as hacking or you being farmed against your will. But if you quit because someone is running a sweaty build, you're going to end up quitting a bunch in the higher ranks and end up screwing over a lot of other players. If this ends up happening, you should be punished far worse than losing some pips and bloodpoints, as if that's that big a punishment to begin with.

  • I'm against DCing completely unless it's for a good reason, like someone hacking or something, but at the same time, I kind of understand. The Legion is one of the most frustrating killers to go up against because he has no solid counterplay and there's not enough punishment for DCing to turn players away from leaving the trial.

    Gotta try that 😂

Nothing is funnier than infuriating friends.

If you grew up with N64 you surely remember the good ol' Mario Kart times on N64? It sucks when everyone has fun, someone has to be the victim. In DbD it's a lot better when you make your friends the victim instead of a random Killer because you can actually see and hear their reactions :P

Mario Kart was rage inducing, but what made me and my brothers and sisters attack each other was Mario Party 2. It would always start off so nice. Someone would walk up and be all "Hey, you guys wanna play some Mario Pary?" and we're all like "Yeah, sure." But by the end of it, we're shouting and seething. Lot's of fun.

  • 1.) Shattered Bloodline. The Spirit is some of the devs best work and Adam is pretty great as well. Not to mention the map is absolutely beautiful to look at.

2.) Halloween. Michael Myers and Laurie Strode are some of my favorite people in horror and I think Michael was built very well into DBD. Haddonfield could've been made a lot better though.

3.) Saw. The pig is just an genuinely fun killer to play and I love the original movie. It's rivaled by Lullaby in the Dark though. The Huntress is awesome and the Red Forest is one of my all time favorite courses.

4.) The Last Breath. The Nurse is just an awesome character and we got two killers in this chapter. The map is also pretty good.

  • The amount of people I couldn't heal because they didn't bother to recover is astonishing so I'd support this.

  • There's too much math here for me.

Yes it is. The person trapped in the basement has no other way to end the match except to DC. That's holding the game hostage, which is reportable.

Is everyone escaping and he STILL blocking the basement even after?

According to the OP, this person traps people in the basement until they DC. If they have no intention of ending the game naturally, they're holding the game hostage and should be reported for it.

I see both sides of the coin here. DS might not be an issue against casual players, but it has potential to really screw you over in a match. NOeD isn't much of a problem if your teammates know to break totems, but if you're playing solo and the killer is applying a good amount of pressure, you can't take all of them out by yourself. If your teammates fail to do any totems, you could be the one getting punished by it.

Idk man honestly I consider noed weak. Like u take that with the plan of Them getting gens done. I run ruin, iron grasp, nurses and discordance/ franklins and normally get at least 3 by 1-3 gens left.

It's incredibly weak against SWF, but against solos, it can be devastating if you're playing a killer that can apply serious pressure, like the Nurse or Billy. If you don't give the survivors time to do anything but gens, it can net you a 4k.

Not saying it doesn’t have a impact thou, as a wraith main I just don’t use it. And maybe it’s made me better for not needing it. I 70% or so 3k 2 gens left 85% if u count 2k and about 15% I get destroyed. (Noed probably would be good here) I just don’t want to get lazy(and I will) and not push myself. It’s a tendency I have.

I don't use it either, but I've been on the receiving end, where I'd take out three totems and still end up dying because my teammates didn't do totems.

In all respect are u blaming others for u getting hit

No, I'm blaming the others for letting the killer gain a massive advantage. Regardless of if it's me getting one hit downed or someone else.

  • Both provide an unfair advantage. And not every streamer who gets stream sniped does that party crud. I don't have much issue with chat on it's own, since if they're just watching normally they don't know things like where other survivors are or who's doing what, the same as sniping or being in a party does. They can only gather what they know from what they see from the streamer's POV. Stream sniping, on the other hand, gives you a massively unfair advantage and is done to be toxic, for the most part. So yes, stream sniping should be bannable.

    Stay away from the basement

This is the stupidest response. "Oh, a killer is abusing hitboxes to hold the game hostage? Well just don't go near the basement, lol." If a survivor gets caught near the basement, it doesn't justify toxicity like this.

  • Nope. I spent my 9000 shards on this killer and I will play them until I can wreak havoc with them and there's nothing you can do about it.

  • Honestly, I rarely see Premonition and I have no clue why. When I want to stealth, Premonition + Iron Will + Urban Evasion. And if you're solo, Kindred is almost a must but I rarely see it.

As for this, I have to disagree. This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable and this person should be banned. I understand that trash talk comes with online games, but a line should be drawn somewhere and encouraging someone to commit suicide has crossed it. Allowing this will only make the toxicity worse.

  • There's a lot of stuff I'd like to see. Dedicated servers are one thing and a few balance changes here and there for some of the weaker killers. I'm always looking forward to new content. Somebug fixes would be nice and please fix console framerate. Playing the doctor on Lery's is like watching a slideshow.

  • I'm having this problem too on PS4. Hasn't stopped people from messaging me though.

  • I agree with everything you've said. I actually really like Legion and Jeff. Design-wise, they're very unique and I think the Legion's power has potential. But after the upcoming buff, I think he'll end up being broken. You're completely right that he has no counterplay. The only way to beat him is to rush gens, which is what survivors do anyway. If you ask me, they need to buff and nerf him at the same time. Make him viable, but give survivors a counterplay when you do, so that everyone can have fun. I won't give up hope completely. The Spirit had a pretty poor release as well, but the devs managed to make her, in my opinion, one of the best killers in the game.

  • Ooo, a rant! ahem

WHY CAN'T CONSOLE HAVE A DECENT REPORT SYSTEM? THE GAMES A TAXIC WASTELAND BECAUSE OCHIDO'S SPAWN HAVE SPREAD THROUGH THE PLATFORM! AND WHERE'S SHIRTLESS MYRES? WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR DECADES AND INSTEAD WE GET STUPID STUFF LIKE "NEW CONTENT" AND "NECESSARY BUFFS AND NERFS TO BALANCE THE GAME." WHO NEEDS THAT? STOP WITH THE BUFFS AND NERFS FOR A MOMENT AND GIVE US WHAT WE REALLY WANT!!!1!11!1! ALSO NERF DECISIVE STRIKE ALREADY! IT RUINS THE GAME! AND WHERE'S FREDDY'S REWORK? C'MON, GAME DESIGNERS! GET IT TOGETHER!

DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON HOW THERE'S NOTHING I FEEL LIKE EATING FOR BREAKFAST TODAY! I CAN MAKE TOAST, BUT I DON'T FEEL LIKE TOAST!!! AND WHY ARE SOME OF MY FAVORITE STREAMERS IN A DIFFERENT TIMEZONE THAN ME AND OUR SCHEDULES BARELY LINE UP? AND WHAT ABOUT THAT FREAKY NIGHTMARE I HAD LAST NIGHT? WHAT WAS THAT? C'MON DEVS!!! FIX THAT SH*T!!!11!!!

  • I feel like everything that needs to be said has been said, but I'll throw my stone in the lake for good measure. What he said wasn't justified at all and he should be banned for it, but you aren't totally innocent either. You were toxic as well. There was no need for you to complain and taunt the killer, especially since you'd already won. You instigated and provoked them. That doesn't make what they said justified, but you're toxic as well.

  • I thought killers were stupid OP way back when I first started. I was terrified of every killer, thought the pallet vacuum was intended, and only played Jake Park since he was my favorite. Even then, though, I thought DS was dumb and I've never used it. I didn't know what looping was and never tried to rank up. I started off only playing survivor until I picked killer once and chose the Wraith, since he was the coolest to me. Once I started playing killer my views started to change and I began to understand the other side.

Today, I still play mostly survivor and both Jake and the Wraith are still my favorites, but my thoughts on balance have changed quite a bunch. And I'm still playing just about every other day.

Meaning the survivors aren't putting out enough to sustain the entity, none of the current survivors haven't gone to the "void" therefore the only reason for it to bring more people is if it's need is growing or it can't hold hope like it used to. I imagine the entity as more of a growing thing. The reason it needs more "food" is because it's growing in power.

Yet it's been alive for centuries, how much more growing does it need to do? That's the thing, is the entity might be able to live far longer than you might believe. A few centuries might not mean anything to this being.

If it is older say primordial old it only furthers my point.

But if the entity can live for thousands and thousands of years, than it might still be in a young stage, and that's assuming it ages at all, since time isn't much of an issue for it.

And finally you get to the argument I wanted you to bring up is the entity's time, yes the lore says the entity doesn't understand time, and it does show the ability to randomly move through time, but lore never asserts the entity is un-affected by time and lore does show that the entity goes through seasonal occurrences like lore states once every so often it has to go through the hallowed blight, which means it does go through some change through time meaning it must age.

The hallowed blight is a purge, not the sign of age. It kinda has to go through it. And it was never said to be a sign of aging. In fact, it was never explained what it was. The dev's even mentioned in a lore stream a while back that time is a fluid concept. There's nothing to say that it doesn't understand time, but there's also nothing to say that it ages. Sure it gets older but does it's body weaken with time? There's no indication that it does. In fact, in one of those lore streams the devs confirmed that the entiiy is growing in power.

Thanks for the info I never look at the dev streams

No problem. If you're wondering what stream it's in, it the 111th, Big Buckets of Blood and Gore. It's around the fifty-six minute mark where they confirm that it's growing in power.

  • The thing is, I know what they were going for with him and they ended up with the complete opposite. He was clearly supposed to be an anti-tunnel killer who's strength came from doing a lot of damage in one go to multiple survivors. He's supposed to have a built in way to slow the game down with DW.

In the end, he's far better used if you land an early hit and trail the survivor until they drop. If they're going to buff him to give survivors a reason to heal against him, which I understand, they need to find a way to fix that as well because that's no fun for anyone. I think they rushed him so they could get the DLC out for the holidays. That would explained how weak he is without add-ons and how broken he is with certain add-ons. He's completely all over the place. They were on such a good streak with the killers as well so this is just completely disappointing.

  • I think the length of his ability should be longer at base and mending should take longer as well. One of the first things I noticed about him was how useless it was to see anyone in your terror radius with DW if you can't reach them. I really like the idea of the survivor not being able to mend themselves if hit with DW while injured. But I don't think he should be required to wait until his ability recharges completely to use it again.

I think that a 60 second DW timer is also far too long. In your example, there's nothing stopping the second survivor hit with DW from mending if you chase after the first. If I were a survivor hit with deep wound and my timer was going down, I wouldn't feel all that pressured. Enough time for me to find a gen, work on it until my bleedout timer is almost up, mend, and get right back to work. I also can't say I'm a big fan of the free bond the comment above me mentioned.

  • You know when you say a word over and over until it loses meaning? That's what the word "bias" has turned into after reading this.

  • My dad works for nintendo.

  • John isn't really a 'chase you down' person. And due to his condition, he wouldn't be able to chase the survivors down or bring them to a sacrificial hook.

  • As if the gap between Solo and SWF wasn't bad enough, imagine the trolling potential this would add. I see where you're coming from, but I don't think it would bring anything too good to the game.

  • It needs a total rework.

  • I let him go and do everything in my power to kill the farmers. I hate to BM, but if I get the farmers on a hook they aren't going anywhere if I have anything to say about it. I can't stand people who farm others.

  • From my perspective as killer, I think that the speed that gens can be done is a bigger issue than DS. I don't like DS at all, but I feel like it's manageable compared to genrush.

From my perspective as survivor, BBQ was never that big an issue and NOED, I'm a bit more undecided on. You can deactivate it sure, but if the killer has Ruin and they're applying a good amount of pressure, you can't do all the totems by yourself and try to get gens done. It's one of those things that's easier for SWF, since they can tell each other if they did a totem and where, but for solos it can really break you in the knees depending on your team.
