If you use Wayback Machine and go to the DBD Gamepedia, Evan (Trapper) and Philip (Wraith) have seriously different backstories. Sally's (Nurse) is also slightly different I believe, but I prefer her current one.The core of Evan's is roughly the same, except that he personally fired or "made disappear" those that were caring for his father, Archie. Archie started mentally failing, but he didn't look like he was eating anything and wouldn't talk to anyone but Evan. Eventually, he just disappeared. Evan wasn't his enforcer in the explosion. He did it on his own. And he went and killed several neighbors. The rest is the same.
Same goes for Philip. The differences being we learn his boss's name (Azarov, hence his weapon being Azarov's Skull) who didn't slash the kid's throat, instead resorting to choking him to death, and Philip wasn't directly told by Azarov what he was doing. Then he took a crowbar and bashed Azarov's skull in until it is nothing more than a wet mass of red flesh (which doesn't exactly work with his weapon)
Sally's is mostly the same, except it doesn't mention the ambulance at the end and it has a few minor changes.
To be honest, they might not be official, but they were on there until Kenneth (Clown) came out, so... I'll consider them the official lore until proven wrong.
i dont like the wiki's version of the trapper. i liked him being his dads enforcer not an independent mass murderer. he seems more brutal to me as someone who would do anything for his farther without hesitation and mercy and became so use to it that he enjoyed it.
He seemed more brutal in the former one, to me. He wasn't his father's enforcer, but he was doing what he was for his father's sake, only to turn on him in the end. It made him seem a lot colder than the new version does.

My main man is Jake. He's the first survivor I picked up and I always do the best with him for some reason. My other survs are Laurie (no, I don't use DS), David, Ace, and Claudette.
My other main is the Wraith. I just thought his design was super cool with the bell and everything and he was a good killer to start with. The other killers I play most are the Pig, Myers, I'm working on the Trapper, and the Legion even though he's not that powerful. I also want to learn the spirit, but she takes quite a bit of time to get down.

WARNING: WALL OF TEXT
This is my take on the lore. I spent way to much time on this, but I love writing so I kinda got carried away.
Dwight
For Dwight, I see him as a nervous, but considerate guy who grew up as the underdog for as long as he could remember. His story, in my eyes, was that he was a target since he was a child for bullies and it stuck with him throughout his school years. His family life was good at least. His dad would tell him to stand up for himself but he never gathered the courage to do so and instead opted for the evasion route. He knew where to blend in a crowd and who to stick with to avoid trouble. He avoided causing a scene as much as possible and tried to keep from drawing any attention to himself, leaving most of his identity a blank page for everyone. They usually just saw him as the dorky, nervous kid who they might borrow a pencil from in the middle of class. This changed very little after he graduated and found a job. He kept from building bonds with his coworkers in fear that they would turn on him. His social life was centered around his family and the few friends he stuck with in school. He was too afraid to form new relationships. But after being taken by the entity, this all changed. He was suddenly the one who was the most qualified, as he is the most skilled at evading danger. The others who were trapped there with him needed someone to point them in the right direction. After many trials of working together as a team, it was futile to pretend that there weren't bonds being built between them. They suffered here together but they rely on each other. Though still a nervous, jumpy person, Dwight no longer fears building bonds with others.
Claudette
In Claudette's case, I see her as a classic introvert. Mostly keeping to herself in the corner of the classroom, she kept herself busy with her homework. She is an intelligent person. Almost any question the teacher asked, she knew the answer too but she was rarely brave enough to raise a hand. She had a small group of close friends and a loving, supportive family that did everything they could to nurture her talent in botany. In her off time, she was usually at home, her nose buried in books with a warm cup of coffee and some relaxed music playing through the speakers of her earbuds. She was empathetic as well, doing what she could for those in need since she was a kid. Ever since she was little, she'd feed the wild cats that roamed her neighborhood. She loved to help others and this never changed. Even after the coming leap she would take. Leaving her small hometown to attend college was the scariest thing she'd ever have to do, or so she thought.Suddenly at a loss and surrounded by strangers, she turned her attention to the internet where she could keep in touch with her friends and family. They would always ask new questions about her studies and she was always glad to answer. Her friends were impressed with how much she knew. It was them who convinced her to make a blog surrounding botany. She was afraid at first, but with the barrier of a screen, it was easier for her to interact with people. She was surprised at how fun it turned out to be, answering questions and chatting with others who shared her interests. She even made a few friends online that she kept in touch with. They were the fist to notice her sudden disappearance. Last they heard from her, she said she needed to take a walk to clear her head. But instead of clarity, she found a world of turmoil and pain. But she knew that, now more then ever before, her skills were needed. The others around her, who she could call friends, they needed her to patch them up when things got bloody. She can't afford to lock herself away anymore. Her empathy is far stronger then her shyness.
Meg
Now for Meg, I see her as a wild child. Filled with unbound energy, she was a piece of work for her mother, especially since Meg's father had abandoned them. She took her energy out with mischief, pulling pranks on the others around the neighborhood and being a complete pest. Even in school, she could rarely sit still. In middle school, this energy was noticed by the coach of the track team. He was good friends with Meg's mother and she's told him countless stories of the trouble she'd get herself into. Seeing her potential, he knew that this energy was better focused then restrained. He offered a position on the team, convincing her with the promise that she could get out of class early to do so. But once her feet hit the clay, she didn't need anymore convincing. Finally finding a way to release her pent-up spirit, her name began to come up more and more in lunch-table conversation around the school. Before the year was up, she was a frequent figure in the school paper. Her rise to athletic fame continued steadily throughout high school and she was eventually approached with a scholarship from a college across the country. But despite her wild spirit and being surrounded by praise, Meg was a humble person. She never bragged about her talent. But she also scarcely opened up to others. Only to her mother and couple close friends did she ever share her deepest frustrations. One of the sources of her seemingly endless energy, was her father. Not many knew the anger and confusion she harbored toward the man she never met. And this anger only got stronger as she grew up and came to understand all her mother had done for her. When her mother became ill, she gave everything up to care for her. She wouldn't abandon her, like her father had. But she still loved to run. And every day, while the sun set, she would go for a quick sprint to relax. Unfortunately, she found herself running headfirst into trouble again. She found herself in a place where her boundless energy was needed more than ever. Even here, she refused to be restrained, she refused to be held back, and she refused to abandon others. Knowing how that feels, she wouldn't wish that pain on her new friends. But despite meeting the others and forming strong bonds, she was haunted by another worry. Her mother was now left alone. She often fears that her mother thinks that she'd abandoned her also.
Jake
As for Jake, he grew up surrounded by wealth and opportunity. Anything he needed, he had, without having to lift a finger. He attended a well-renowned school, the kind with edible food in the cafeterias and classy uniforms. Jake didn't care much for any of it but, at the time, it didn't get to him much. He did well in school, with a fair mix of Bs and As, maybe a C once in a while. By classic standards, he was doing alright. But his father's standards were different. Anything under an A was unacceptable and was met with lengthy lectures. His father constantly compared him to his older brother. Jake's relationship with his brother was good, but he couldn't help but feel angry when he thought about him. Anything Jake did, he could do better and his father was always reminding him of that. It didn't help that his father was rarely home. Being a busy man, he was always away, sometimes for days. The few days they had together were usually filled with lectures and, as Jake grew up, they would devolve into full-blown arguments. His father would shout about how much he'd done for Jake and why he couldn't be more like his brother. Jake would yell about how he wasn't his brother and that he'd never asked for all this. The arguments would end with one or the other storming out of the room. Jake rarely showed it, but he was left in tears after some of the harsher arguments they had. His mother did what she could to encourage him as he grew up. She understood that Jake wasn't an academic person and that he was breaking under the pressure. The pressure that had steadily been getting worse throughout the years. She would tell him that his father loved him just as much he loved his brother and that everything he did came from a good place. Jake tried to believe her, but never could. She often tried to urge her husband to go easier on him and even got him to apologize a few times, but the relationship between father and son was never ideal. One day, during a week away from work, Jake and his father got into another heated argument. But this one was far worse than usual. Jake's mother attempted to break it up but she was drowned out by the yelling. With all three of them in tears, Jake yelled one last sentence at his father before storming out of the house into the storm, his mother calling after him. He didn't come home. He, instead decided to live a life completely different than the one he had before. Using what money he had, he bought what he needed and hiked into the woods. Finally away from the bustling maids, the constant lectures, and the straining pressure, he was, at last, at peace. He made an effort to never speak with his father again, but did what he could to communicate with his mother throughout the couple years that followed. But, when the communication suddenly stopped, she became worried and called the police. They scanned the forest best they could, but could never find him. As for where he went, Jake was now under pressure again. But at this point, he knew how to survive. He would do what he could to stay alive. He wouldn't let anyone break him again. As for the others, he kept to himself mostly, but it was nice to have company. Especially since they spoke words of encouragement and sought to build each other up, not bring each other down.
I have some for the killers as well, but they're WAY longer. I could include them if you want but there's quite a lot.

It's a tie between SAW and the original Halloween for me. Good story, good acting (for the most part), exceptionally filmed, and overall just good movies.
EDIT: I don't know how it slipped my mind, but Alien is the best horror film, in my opinion.

@Iceman
There was a couple survivors I didn't include because I couldn't really think of good lines for them. I never played L4D so I was bit out of luck there and Jeff just came out so I wasn't sure, especially since I don't even own him yet. There was't much that came to mind for David Tapp either. I'm sorry for not including them, but I couldn't find something for them that fit. -
I'll just sit here and wait for the community to get along.

Here's my little doggo. She likes to follow me around and if there's a large group of people, she flops down in the middle of everyone.

Psychologically, maybe, since he was unknowingly executing people, but I wouldn't call that torture on him.
He was tortured by the entity as well. He was choked with mud and I think the white marks on his skin are burns.

I think Myers still holds that title with his only competition being Freddy. Myers had no motivation to begin with and was a monster since he was a kid. He wants nothing but to kill. Freddy might be worse because of what he did before his death. It takes a special kind of evil to do that. The Clown is also a fair contender, too. He reveled in tormenting and killing people.
-
I actually like the idea of Susie slowly being overcome by guilt in the entities realm since hurting others is against her nature. She eventually breaks and switches her alliance to the survivors. I like the possible conflict of her trying to earn the trust of the other survivors, since they, understandably, would be cautious of her. I also like the possible story that could arise with her facing her former friends in the matches. I think it could create a very cool story with multiple sides making it up (the survivors' wariness of her, her friends' varying reactions to her betrayal, and her own inner struggle.) Just my opinion, but I like to think of Susie as someone who's good at heart and hates the role she's forced to fill.
-
I like the idea. Kind of adds a whole new layer of gameplay, which is something I think this game has needed for a while now. Definitely preferable to the hatch staring contest we get now. I avoid that crud as much as possible.
-
I use aura reading perks and information-gathering perks in general quite a lot. I find them very underrated actually. As for an answer to your question, I think the main reason is that they're overshadowed by other perks that may come in handy more or at a more necessary moment, like self-care, decisive strike, borrowed time, and sprint burst.
As much as I love dark sense, it won't do a survivor as much good in a chase as decisive or sprint burst. And since chases are one of the most risky parts of the match for survivors (and an opportunity to distract the killer from others), aura reading is overshadowed by perks that can help you in a chase more and, in the case of self-care, help you if you manage to break it. That's the reason I think, anyway.

I like the more human approach to his design, but I wish the fact that he's in a gang was worked into his power. As for his place strength-wise, it's too soon for me to say for certain, but I could see how a few buffs here and there might improve things. As for his power's connection to the lore, I don't see any connection either, but that's nothing new. I mean, what connection does the Trapper's power have to his lore, or the Wraith's, or the Nurse's? Literally nothing.their powers fit their theme
trapper is cunning and brutal, hence the bear traps, for example
legion's power doesn't fit the theme of a multiple personality killerThe Wraith was a hardworking man and only killed on purpose when he was wronged. That doesn't match up with the magical bell very well or the 'spirit world' he goes into when he turns invisible. The Nurse was an ordinary woman who wanted a family and fell on hard times after the death of her husband and that translates into her power being... teleporting? In comparison, the Legion's power has more connection due to the fact that they were a group of crazy, out-of-control teenagers so a frenzy matches a bit better. I don't disagree with you. I would also like the killer's lore and theme to match better with their power, I'm just saying that it's nothing new.

Trapper-Reserved but isn't opposed to having a brief conversation with the chattier killers. Will never initiate it though. Also acts as the "Mouth of the Entity". Probably dislikes the Doctor and the Legion. Doc because he's a handful, Legion because he thinks they're unworthy of the "honor" of being killers for the Entity. However, he shares a strange bond with Amanda. The two can be seen talking and building traps and strange contraptions. The Doctor swears that he saw the Trapper laugh once when he was with the Pig but no one believes him.Wraith- Very reserved. Shares a strange bond with the Nurse, which explains the bandages on him. Used to refuse to cooperate with anyone other than her but he's come around to the Spirit. She seems to sense fragments of a good soul in him and the Nurse. Shattered entirely and nearly impossible to find, but there. Just dormant. No issues with anyone since he doesn't go near anyone he doesn't feel comfortable around.
Hillbilly- Peculiar. Has fits of rowdiness and has fits of isolation. Just like a child throwing a tantrum, he can swap emotions very quickly. Mumbles incoherent nonsense but basic words and phrases are able to be comprehended if you spend enough time with him. Nice to those who show him affection such as the Nurse and the Cannibal and the Hag, who has become his "new" family. Whether or not he "dines" with them is up in the air. No issues with anyone because everyone is a bit scared of him.
Nurse- Doesn't speak due to her... condition. Still makes an effort to visit everyone in the Killers' side of the Fog. As stated above, most fond towards the Wraith for reasons unknown. Feels a great deal of pity for the Spirit, knows that she doesn't belong here. No qualms with anyone.
Shape- Don't expect to get a word out of him and do not approach under any circumstances. Does what he wants, when he wants, and how he wants. He's gone as far as attempting to kill almost every killer that showed up before him. He's "calmed" himself but still, extremely competitive. Detests the Trapper especially. Has had numerous altercations with the Nightmare but the two seem to tolerate each other now. Enough to warrant spending time waiting for trials near each other. It's unclear if the Shape enjoys listening to the Nightmare but it wouldn't be stupid to assume he does.
Hag- Spends the majority of her time with the Cannibal. Not because the two like each other but because of well... the predicament that the two share. An eternal hunger for human flesh. Very barbaric and barely human, the Hag shouldn't be approached by anyone other than "Bubba". The Pig, the Nightmare, and the Legion all stay very far away because of this. She's not intentionally malevolent, that's just the way she was forced to be.
Huntress- Also very reserved (notice a trend?). Keeps to herself and preps for each trial after completing one. Enjoys the company of the Nurse but always is surprised that she's able to get away so easily. Likes the Legion because they're small and a bit taller than the kids she used to "take care" of. The Legion is very creeped out by her, other than Susie that is. Everyone else that's cognisant finds her peculiar, the others don't give a damn.
Doctor- An outlier amongst the Killers.Very loud, very obnoxious, and very interrogative. After each trial, he pesters the Killers for details and this leads to a large number of quarrels. The Entity would step in but they find the in-fighting quite entertaining. Writes down the information he obtains in a thick and grisly looking journal. Reading it would be a huge mistake. Trust me. Don't. It wouldn't be fun. Doesn't hate anyone but everyone basically hates him, to one degree or another.
Cannibal- Mute aside from grunting and squealing like a pig, the Cannibal is an interesting case. He can actually cook, despite there being no need to eat in the Entity's realm. The Hag appreciates him greatly for this but still, her stomach is bottomless. Enjoys tinkering on his saw with the Hillbilly when not eating/cooking. No one messes with him because everyone feels a bit bad for him and his mental state. The Nightmare stays away because he worries about what that chainsaw can do to him.
Nightmare (I like to think of this Freddy as Englund despite the facts. I just detest the remake, okay?)- Basically a toned down Doctor. Aggressive, obnoxious, charismatic, and narcissistic. Insists that he's simultaneously better than everyone at killing and just a poor soul who was framed during his life as a human. Makes an effort to mess with all the killers. The thing that sets him apart from the Doc is his ability to make a few of the killers chuckle with garbage jokes and puns (Frank enjoys having quip/roast wars with the Nightmare. The winner of these fights is usually a tie since both parties end up laughing til they cry). Hangs out with the Shape the most due to him having infinite patience when he wants. Would never say it, but he has a certain liking for Frank.
Pig- This is where it gets interesting. The Pig is one of the most human/sane killers. She has a journal and writes in it frequently, documenting a plethora of things. Think Benedict Baker from the other perspective. There are slivers of remorse in her, but they're quickly snuffed out every time she puts on the mask. She isn't obnoxious but she does enjoy conversations. She's the only person to reach the Trapper other than the Entity. Besides the Trapper, she enjoys hanging out with the Legion since she's into the same aesthetic and music and she's only a handful of years older.
Clown- Despite being a clown, the Clown is very reserved. He occasionally shares a conversation with the Nightmare or the Trapper but other than that, he keeps to himself. No one knows why but it's because the Clown is deeply disturbed mentally and fears that if he opens himself up to anyone they'll ruin everything he's worked for (feathers, fingers, etc.). No qualms with anyone but greatly dislikes the Doctor and Huntress. The Doctor because of his insistence that the Clown tell jokes and dance and the Huntress because she's one of the fingers he desires for his collection but knows he can never have. Weird stuff, man. Weird. Stuff.
Spirit- A truly sad case. The Spirit is one of the most innocent killers and is very reserved. She spends most of her time doing a mix of seething and sobbing. The Nurse helps her and makes sure the Doctor comes nowhere near her. She's like a daughter to her. The Wraith understands her grief and tries to comfort her as best he can. Just because they're murderers doesn't mean they don't have regrets and their fair share of grief.
Legion (Since there are four individuals here, they'll each be split up, all references to the Legion above applies to all of them though):
Frank: A smartass and someone who grew up a bully, Frank has had some trouble behaving himself in his new home. He originally tried the "tough guy" approach but quickly realized he was fresh meat and the only thing stopping the others from killing him is the "spider crab thingy in the sky". Spends a lot of time with Julie, because, well, they're dating. Enjoys listening to the Nightmare speak and tell stories and he also spies on the Shape (who's fully aware of Frank by the way) because he thinks he's awesome. Spends his private time daydreaming and listening to his walkman and the strange punk mixtapes that he keeps finding. He's got a theory that they're a gift from the Entity. Has no beef with anyone.
Julie: A preppy girl who wanted to be punk so bad she fell in with the wrong crowd and eventually became the wrong crowd, Julie became far more stoic and stalwart once she entered the Entity's realm. She loves Frank still and still loves spending time with her friends but she's become far more serious. She has a notebook she draws in that has caught the attention of the Doctor and the Pig. Surprisingly, she can put up with the Doctor to a certain degree and enjoys the spare literature he has. No issues with anyone.
Joey: Just as bold and brash as before, Joey enjoys causing a ruckus and has done his best to prove his worth to the others. Whether this is through attempts at intimidation or blatant showboating, Joey persists on being a "badass". Deep down inside, he's a bit terrified at the fact that he's a serial killer and surrounded by others like him. Spends a lot of time talking to the other Legionnaires and has attempted conversation with the Trapper multiple times (Joey assumes he's the leader) which was met with replies that were more akin to a "leave me be, kid" than an actual answer. When all else fails, hanging out with Frank and causing a commotion is always an option. He's tried to start fights with the others but has gotten nothing from anyone.
Susie: The shy and naive girl from Ormond has surprisingly found her place. She thinks all the killers are awesome and spends most of her free time away from the Legion attempting to start a conversation. The Shape even lets her ramble to him but picks her up and puts her near the other Legionnaires when he gets sick of her. Enjoys spending time with the Pig since the two have similar music tastes. The Pig really does like Susie and is considering making her a protege of hers. No one has any issues with her because everyone practically likes her.
Jesus Christ... That took ages to write down. Hopefully, you guys like it and hopefully, @not_Queen or any other dev agrees with some aspects of this!
Awesome, man. Pretty fun to read.

This would increase lobby times for both sides.

The best way to counter loops is playing the Nurse.
-
I find this unfair.

-
I always feel bad for the other survivors when someone quits. I know what it's like to get screwed over by someone who can't handle when things don't go their way. When that happens, I usually let the others go.
-
Hide the killers perks until the match is over so their build can't be shared with everybody as soon as a survivor dies.
-
I want this to be bait, but I've seen some serious crap from this community. I don't really know what to believe anymore!

Not every killer needs to be at Nurse's power, but every killer should be viable. Every killer is viable. You can win with any killer. The matches against elite talented survivors are not super common. As easy as it is to rank up, bums are filling the red ranks.
Tournament and competitive play will always be loaded with the most broken elements of any game. Personally I welcome another unique killer that requires a challenge over someone like Billy that can easily dominate a match with very little skill required.
You can win with every killer if the survivors let you. I've seen Freddys win games. That doesn't mean he's strong. It just means the survivors aren't that great. Killers should be able to make more of their own plays, not rely on the skill level of survivors.
And most of the survivors who play this game aren’t great. Balancing around the most sweatiest of the playerbase is a nice way to make the game not enjoyable for most of the players.
Killers can make plenty of their own plays. Jeebus, it’s adorable how far this “woe is me I’m a helpless killer!” is pushed.
If the only reason a killer is playable when you put effort into them is if the survivors aren't that great, then there's an imbalance.
-
If you're the kind of person that responds to hints like that, then there's not much chance you're going to improve.

It's still not that great at all. I have a gtx 960 and a 6600k and I'll have to use medium settings to hold a solid 60. Anything above that and it'll drop to 30-50. Low settings drastically improves performance though.Next patch is gonna run on a newer engine that has improved graphics and should improve performance as well I believe.
You think THAT is bad frame rate? Try playing against the Doctor on PS4 at Lery's. It's virtually a slideshow.
Yes thats a bad framerate.
Console is a different story since you are limiting yourself by playing on console, but thats sth everyone can decide for themselves^^Yeah, I'm saving up to build my own gaming PC. Only problem is that I don't have the slightest clue where to start.
