Is the entity a childlike being?

I have thought about this for a while. I remember the devs saying that the entity recreates what it sees from the real world outside its realm, but doesn't necessarily have an understanding as to what they are. The entity understands concepts like, hope, fear, life, death, and pain. As well as hunger. Yet, it can't separate fiction from reality as seen with the existence of movie characters in the fog. The entity also seems to care little for morality as well, but does exhibit a base understanding of fairness. This can be seen by the entity allowing survivors to have tools and gain skills and understanding of its realm.

No, the entity is a lovecraftian being. Or maybe like IT, or the Turtle from the Steven King works.

The mind of the entity is alien, and would likely drive anyone who could understand it completely insane.

Who says it is alien? It seems pretty relate able to me, like, I understand everything I see. Nothing out of this world, nothing unfathomable.

I said this on another thread but in my opinion the entity is coming to the end of it's life cycle, that's why so many new survivors are coming in (besides the fact that the devs need money), the entity feeds off of hope, so the only reason to bring new survivors in is if the hope is not enough. Meaning the survivors aren't putting out enough to sustain the entity, none of the current survivors haven't gone to the "void" therefore the only reason for it to bring more people is if it's need is growing or it can't hold hope like it used to.

And finally you get to the argument I wanted you to bring up is the entity's time, yes the lore says the entity doesn't understand time, and it does show the ability to randomly move through time, but lore never asserts the entity is un-affected by time and lore does show that the entity goes through seasonal occurrences like lore states once every so often it has to go through the hallowed blight, which means it does go through some change through time meaning it must age.

Sure it gets older but does it's body weaken with time? There's no indication that it does. In fact, in one of those lore streams the devs confirmed that the entiiy is growing in power.

if it is growing in power that might explain its need for more food (survivors). im not sure why a god like being would need the food though.

No problem. If you're wondering what stream it's in, it the 111th, Big Buckets of Blood and Gore. It's around the fifty-six minute mark where they confirm that it's growing in power.
