I love how these threads always seem to go downhill. -
Camping, tunneling, bodyblocking, and looping aren't toxic. They're strategies you can use to increase your chance of winning. What I define toxicity as is going out of your way to anger others for no reason but because you want to be a jerk. Delfador pretty much explained it clear enough already.
-
It's a title, kind of like how Myers is called "the Shape."
-
Sorry Pig, but when it comes to camping, Leatherface takes the cake.
-
I run Brutal Strength and apologize profusely.
-
I really like these ideas!
-
I'll say the same thing I always say on the matter. I think a time ban that grows with each time you DC is the best way to go. Start with five minutes, then ten, then fifteen, and so on until they're banned until the rank reset. This way, I think it discourages DCing without being to debilitating on someone who's internet might've went out.
-
I'm in complete support of making this community better but as much as I support this, I don't think much will change. Toxicity kind of just comes with games like this.
-
Camping is an intended mechanic. It's not going away. The best thing you can do when someone is being camped is either bum-rush the hook as a team while running Borrowed Time, which won't work against every killer, or leave the guy on the hook to do gens. There are a few situations where the killer has to camp. If there are other survivors near the hook, why would the killer just go away?

Aww, thanks! How about you @ShrimpTwiggs? Do you think that you have the responsibilities to be a mod?
I'd like to be a mod. I really like the game and I think it'd be cool to help out where I can and, since I'm finished with school, I have time to look around the forums. I can be rough with my comments here and there, though. I'd probably have to reel myself in a bit if I became a mod.

I don't think I'm ready for being a mod, don't get me wrong... I absolutely LOVE DBD to death but I don't think I can be as active. Especially when school is starting for me, I simply can't be on a lot and I feel like I'm letting my community down when I'm not there to help you all, ya know? However I will always assist a mod tho. That's a shame.I think you'd be a pretty good mod since you're easily one of the most positive people on the forums.

She doesn’t need a buff, but she deserves one. She’s not underpowered enough to be useless, but she’s still a little to weak. A hardcore player could be god tier with her, but its unlikely that they’d put in the effort with her current state.

It makes perfect sense. The OP says that Amanda doesn't NEED a buff, but she SHOULD get one. It isn't something that she NEEDS but something she would LIKE lol.
It's not that confusing. Also I screwed up when editing this.
They're still contradictory points though. It's pretty much saying "I'm not saying she needs a buff, but she should get a buff." Those statements clash, thus creating confusion. It makes sense, but it's still convoluted. I knew what you meant because, like you said, it's not that confusing, but I wanted to make that comment for a joke. Like I said, I agree with you. She should be buffed. I think her lunge falls short and being able to see when you're a good enough distance from a hook for MYC to work is a good change. I'm not sure about less time for her RBT though. Like Peanits said, they're designed to make the survivor waste as much time as possible.
-
A buff I'd like to see for No Mither is that you start off healthy and, once the killer lands a hit on you, you can't heal fully. They should also remove the symbol for the killer's HUD that shows that you have it.

But it isn't even hard to catch survivors... 100% of the time the killer spawns next to one survivor basically already 1 free kill . Remember it is more likely SWF so they will not let him die eventually they'll come for him...I still fail to see the insanity .. Are all killers affriad to just stop chasing a Survivor that's going to loop them?
1.) Even if you spawn close to a survivor, you would still have to go in one specific direction to find them. Not to mention that you would still have to catch them. And if the survivor is good, then it won't be easy to take them down.
2.) The problem with your SWF point is that it relies on the survivors to make mistakes. What if the guy on the hook tells them to let him hang?
3.) If you leave one survivor and chase another, they will most likely loop you as well.

There's entitlement on both sides, but that doesn't mean that we should chalk up every complaint as "whining." Right now, the game is far too survivor-sided because the devs cave in to the survivors. One week after Freddy came out, he was nerfed. Meanwhile, it took the devs two years to fix the pallet vacuum. It's pretty clear what side gets their way the most. And finally, a patch comes out that nerfs the survivors and buffs two of the weaker killers and the survivors review bomb the game. Tell me which side is whining again?
I’ve said this so many times... it’s not that Killers don’t have bullshit, they do, it’s just the reason you see Killers complain more often is because the Survivors have MORE bullshit than the Killers by far.
What kind of Excuse us that just admit the own killers fault and stop pointing fingers and maybe the Dev want take killers as a Joke.
Once killers come to a realistic agreement with survivors and Dev the game may become balanced.
Tell me again how a killer can't counter survivors ?
How about how they can? Gens get done so fast, most killers can't apply pressure, looping is easy and crushes a lot of killers, and survivors have far stronger perks. SB is still a get-out-of-jail free card when your positioning is garbage. And it crushes the Wraith, Pig, Hag and Myers especially hard since it can nullify an ambush. Self Care gives you the ability to infinitely heal yourself, which means you don't have to distract the others from doing gens. Not to mention that it makes Freddy a joke. It pretty much removes any risk of body-blocking since you all can take turns getting whacked without distracting anyone to heal you. You can say that it's countered by Nurses Calling, but that only works if the survivors are healing in your terror radius. And paired with Iron Will, they can easily stealth out of it. How about DS? You can run Enduring, but the most that will do is help shorten the next chase. The fact still remains that you have to recatch the survivor again. In a game where the killer is on a time crunch, that can make the difference between a win and a loss. Not to mention that you could easily end up putting up with multiple instances of these perks in one game. No killer perk compares to these. Ruin can be powered through or destroyed, NOED can be destroyed before it even activates, BBQ has quite a few counterplays to pick from. Then there is the fact that items make all these problems worse. Flashlights are still very strong. You can say to run Lightborne, but against a purple flashlight with good add-ons, it won't fix anything. You can say to run Brutal Strength to shorten the window, but that means you're running two perks to counter one item. Then there's toolboxes, which make the genrush even worse. As someone who plays far more survivor then killer, the killer role needs to be buffed.

Bruv, finish the sentence, or even read the title.
I read both. They're still very contradictory. But despite that, I agree. What I think would be a nice change is working on her lunge. Getting rid of the loud sound cue when she lunges would help more. I agree that if a survivor dies on the hook while wearing the trap, she should be able to pick it up. I like the idea of raising her view when crouching as well. As for MYC, it does tell you when it activates, right? After somebody rescues someone, you can see the timer start on the perk.
Thats not what @RotBb meant. Devour Hope lights up once you are far enough away, MYC doesnt.
Ah, that's true. Yeah, it would be better if you could tell when you're far enough away for it to work.

Nice, man! But @not_Queen isn't gonna let you win easy.
-
I've never cared to put up with it. Just whack them and move on to the next game.
-
I agree. DCs aren't punished nearly enough. The solution I think is best, is that every time you DC, you get a time ban that steadily increases with every time you disconnect. I think the time ban should start off as something like five minutes, then ten, and so on until you're locked out until the next reset. That way, it would deter you from DCing without being too harsh on someone who's internet might've copped out.
-
No, you're one of us now. Once you join, you can never leave.
-
Welcome to the salt lands, my friend.
-
The main difference between looping and camping, is that camping is punishable. The killer can be punished for not leaving the hook if the others do the gens instead of run into the killer's trap. With looping, sure, you can leave that survivor, but the next one will probably just loop you as well.

Find a bunch of balloons, tie them to your belt, and float out of the map while the Star Wars theme plays in the background.

I would ask what research you could possibly be doing that you would need that, but I think I'll end up with more questions than answers.

It'd help prevent sandbagging, which would be a good change, but I can see a lot of people using this to troll. Especially SWF groups trying to boost their buddies. They won't let the rando get them off the hook but wait for their friend so that they can get the points for it.

His Mori is to beat you to death with a Rollingpin/Frying pan while screaming "DONKEY!"

idk what game you are playing, but theres pallets everywhere, even on shelter woods now. did you accidentally click this forum while looking for something else?
Tells me you don't play much, ever since the pallet changes this happens frequently. Oh and on a side note I think it's cute how you claim you're a survivor main yet you're consistently on these forums pleading for killer buffs and general killer white-knighting.
So because someone mains survivor, they won't advocate for killers getting buffed? That's stupid, since I play way more survivor then I do killer, yet I think that the killer role is too weak and advocate for buffs for them. All because someone plays more of one side than the other, doesn't mean that they're blind to the balance issues.
-
I completely agree. If the devs want to tweak bloodlust, fine, but they need to get their priorities in order. Fix the maps first and then change it. If you want to make QoL changes for survivors, I can support that, but please fix the core issues of the game first. Your broken report system, bad map design, weak killers, and faulty rank system should be at the top of the list right now. And for heaven's sake, don't cave in to whiny babies review-bombing the game. Once they know it works, they'll do it again whenever they don't get their way. It's the equivalent of giving a spoiled kid everything he wants when he throws a tantrum. He'll just keep doing it over and over until it stops working. If the devs want to put this game on a better path, they can't keep caving like this.
-
This thread looks fun.

-
I can imagine Jake as the Saboteur, messing with pallets and windows to snag or injure the survivors that attempt to use them.
David would probably be the only killer with his bare hands as his weapon. Since he's described as the a scrapper, maybe he would have the ability to take survivors items and work them into something for him. Hitting a survivor with a medkit would consume a large amount of their item and it could be used to cause Mangled status affect on the next few successful hits.
Dwight would probably punish teamwork, perhaps slowing actions down if there are others around you.
Meg would probably be the fastest of the killers, maybe able to break into a dead sprint that speeds up vaulting and reduces stuns.
-
Interesting ideas. I really like the idea of static covering the edges of the screen. As for the skillchecks appearing randomly, I'm not sure. It could be used for strategic reasons, like if you want to draw the Doctor away from another survivor, but most people in the high ranks won't miss those skillchecks. It would actually be a nerf to the doctor to have the survivor's screaming based on them missing a skillckeck. I think it's better for him if they scream randomly. right now, the doctor's in a pretty good place anyway, so I don't see any need to change him.
-
We need a baby in a rocket-powered stroller as the next survivor.
-
I would make more pallets and looping spots mindgames, I would fix the report system, I would add secondary objectives to slow the game down, I would balance out some broken perks, and I would try to improve the frame rate on all platforms. Those changes, I think, should take priority at the moment. Though it's not as big a deal, I would like better communication between the devs and the community. Overall, the devs seem to be turning the game on a a better course and they've already talked about some of the changes I'd make, so let's hope they keep going for improvement.
-
Do you think you'll be able to live a normal life now that you have a criminal record?

Well, there's some hopeful people out there (like me) who hope they redo the Kate shirt just like they did with David's chinese new year jacket.First off, why did they delete her bracelets and rings?
Yeah, but the devs already have a lot on their plate as it is. With things like the report system and balance issues, I don't know if they'll get around to improving the prizes.
-
I don't like it, but I don't think it's that big a deal. At least he can set taps faster now and, as much as I hate the animation for it, I'd rather put up with it rather then put up with the old trap set time.

Despite both having a chainsaw, they play very differently. Hillbilly is far superior, due his ability to apply map pressure, but Leatherface is more powerful in camping. If he's in the open, like the cornfield in coldwind, Leatherface can nullify juking with his chainsaw while Billy's can be dodged way easier. As for the insta-down, I don't think it needs to be tweaked. The only time Leatherface's ability is dangerous is if you let him get too close or if you didn't run anywhere with trees or debris and Billy's chainsaw can be dodged relatively easily unless he's right behind you. Besides, killers are already on a time crunch, so Billy and Leatherface kind of need the insta-down.
