Damn I forgot I made this thread

Good thing there's new killers/survivors/perks to work with!-I don't wanna ruin the moment, but let's slow this game down, just a lil bit.

The forum post makes it look like both sides will have a side objective (gather or destroy vessels). So sure the first few minutes might be ignoring objectives, but it will be both sides doing that. Once those are done I assume killer and survivor will just play as normal.
I like that they've taken feedback and look to be making changes to events so it's a bit more even. Just decorated gens/hooks was kind of boring, and the blight was a good step but having a separate objective for survivors but just hooks for killer made for long killer wait times since that was the easier choice (no competition for serum, earn vials just doing what you would do anyways).
Separate objectives for both killer and survivor sounds more fun, it's something different that makes it feel like an event vs just skins on normal objectives.

Moonrise looks more like special themed cosmetics for Chinese New Year (Feb 5th). Boar head fits Year of the Pig.
I don't think any of those are related to the next killer tbh. Looks like just enough to make it from Mid chapter to Next DLC with the weekly releases they've been doing (maybe skipping a week if there's a lunar new year event).
-
-Trapper bag, maybe stitched bag even. Trapper's setup time just collecting traps nevermind placing them makes playing him frustrating even though I still love him as a killer.
That's the only addon I'd want as base kit tbh. Maybe the Wraiths Hound addon to bring back cloaked basekit bloodhount which was awesome.
Edit :
Wait, add Plaid Flannel for nurse as basekit. No idea why a training wheel addon is very rare in the first place when Doctors training wheel is common.

I am way happier than I should be about this. Yessss.

I'll agree there's tons of toxicity in this game, but it's far from the worst. I get way more nice messages than hate and so do a lot of people I know playing it. The thing is, people only every post the hate publicly because it gets more attention.
If you want to see toxic, go join some fallout76 groups on facebook. I've seen people legit FB stalk people and post their family members to try and witchhunt because they didn't like how they played.
No matter what you play there will be someone insanely outraged that you didn't play exactly how they wanted, and they'll go off because they don't know how to be a decent human. Best bet is just hide post game chat and ignore them instead of responding to their vitrol, or weird them out by only responding by being overly nice/throw some compliments about their plays/ give them terrible puns, or random fun facts about animals or something.
Be the change you want to see. Worst case,it does nothing. Best case, it catches on. -
Survivors : DS
Killers : NOED
Let the chaos begin...

Lucky? Nea
I hate playing her for the toxic stigma and her face, I will usually stick to Dwight and Jeff, but for some damn reason I'm invincible when I do play her. Idgi.No real lucky killer tbh.

Everyone in this situation needs to give their head a shake.
You instigated and showed that you're part of the reason the community is seen as toxic, they responded beyond poorly.
Is this a new toxic tactic, bait people into returning the hate and then try getting them banned because you didn't like what addons they played? That's wild.

Doesn't that technically already exist here :
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/balance-feedback -
You seem to be doing alright from what you say. 2k is a win tbh. The game should (if perfectly balanced) have 2k /2 escape per match, unless you're at a lower rank than you should.
Breaking gens to me is used more for tracking than anything unless I'm running overcharge or pop goes the weasel. If the area looks abandoned but a gen is somewhat progressed, kick it. If it's still regressing next time you're around there likely isn't anyone nearby. If it's no longer regressing/someones touched it there's probably a Claudette hidden in some nearby grass

As far as chasing one survivor vs breaking chase, you seem to be doing alright. Good killers know when it's worth committing to a chase or when it's just wasting time that could be better used applying pressure on the others. A big mistake killers make is focusing on 1 survivor for way too long while the other 3 are free to work gens unhindered. It can cost them the game too easily. So I'd say keep doing what you're doing. It's the smart move tbh.
Last of all, Nurses is great. No reason to take it out, especially if it's been useful for you so far ^_^

Play with friends if you want to get used to survivor. It usually eases tension since you'll have more info as to who the killer is/if they're busy/etc.
If that still doesn't help, try and get a crew together for KYF. You'll have the chance to get used to each killer, and gain more confidence in how you play which should help. In the end, it's hard to be scared when you're too busy laughing after your 4th pallet stun in a row ^_^
-
Review bombing is a horrible idea for either side. Turning off new players from a game you play just makes it more likely to die off rather than get the right changes made.
Give constructive feedback via proper channels instead and help the game grow and thrive rather than try to kill it.
Honest reviews help, if you generally like the game but have some griefs, sure its appropriate to add them in to an honest review. Raging and saying it's the worst game ever 0/10 with 2k hours and continuing to play is a bit much lol. -
People shouldn't be penalized for playing with friends/a game mode introduced by the devs that still is pvp with random opponents. KYF doesn't give BP as it's all friends/no real opponent so it can be easily abused to farm BP and shards.
If anything this game needs a reduced grind, not an increased one for any reason.
-
BBQ and chili got nerfed with all the complaints with the locker buff and Distortion so....
What's the harm in asking for balance changes. Some people have good ideas mixed in to all the super unbalanced ones. Better than the hundreds of "ban campers" posts. -
I like the added unhook speed bonus, because WGLF really needs a 2nd function and this isn't gamebreaking but still fits the perks theme.
This seems like too many tokens/ways to earn them though.
I'd say keep it at 4 tokens but let them get earned with SAFE unhooks, taking a hit while bodyblocking, healing 1 health state, getting a 'killer grasp escape' score (from flashlight/pallet/firecracker) or 1 token per escaped survivor while you're still alive/in game.
Also have it lose a token if it is an unsafe unhook. This would have the new ways to earn the tokens all still fit within the WGLF theme of protecting others/getting everyone out alive, increase the likelihood of actually getting all tokens (but not guaranteeing it) compared to now where bodyblocking only sometimes gives one out, while also discourage things like hook farming.

Nah. There's an easy way and idk why so many people haven't seen it yet. Bring Solo to SWF level. Then buff the killers to combat Solo and SWF. Problem solved. The problem with that is when it's time for killers to be buffed accordingly there will be community outrage (see anytime something even small gets buffed for killers or nerfed for survivors) and we then get to play the game of "are these buffs sticking, or will people start review bombing again because Killers OP plz nerf".
Imo they just need a casual mode where SWF runs free and ranks aren't a thing (before people say killers just wouldn't play it, how many times have people asked for this so they could not be stuck playing only nurse/billy because they're stuck at high rank. It'd be more of a fun based game where you don't have to worry about rank and can play killers you're not familiar with instead of everyone going for that pip), BP is still earned in casual mode obvi otherwise it might as well just be KYF.
Then have a ranked mode which is solo only. So many people say rank means nothing now, which is pretty true since anyone can make rank 1 (even if they're not great) by being carried or just putting enough time in (pipping is honestly too easy, so if this is ever split this should be toughened up a bit). It will make rank actually mean something and maybe since there will be less chilling at rank 1 they can implement a rank reward system without worrying about the 'bloodpoint economy'.
Then again I'm not a game designer so my idea is likely just as bad as any others

-
Agreed, but both sides. I ended up not playing more than a few matches for 2 seasons just so I could get back down to where I get fast lobbies and only 1 DC per match instead of 4 (or 3 on the survivor side)

I wish it was tougher because honestly I pip consistently even when I die (which is a LOT). It's a bit silly.
Killer side is the same, I double pip 80% of my matches and just don't understand why. Like I know it's got an explanation if you hover over emblems, but I really didn't do that well.
-
The activation of the perk is fine. It should have a cooldown timer or stop being lit up when the timer runs out though.
and for the love of god, the best buff it could get is to just not show up in the killers perks on the score screen. As soon as someone dies/DCs suddenly everyone else knows it's in play and that sucks

Interesting how both Survivor and Killer resolutions you're offering others to use are all to make the game better for the survivor as if the killer is just a tool to be used instead of an actual player who is also trying to have fun. Hmmm...
Yes, it's survivor perspective. I'm survivor main. Feel free to add thoughts on how survivors can improve to make the killer's game more fun. The only thing that I can really think of that would be unsportsmanlike survivor play is hiding forever. Everything else is just trying to survive and we have weak tools with which to do it.
Alright well here's some ideas to be a nicer survivor.
-I will not spam "GG EZ BABY KILLER' in post game chat/ps or xbox messages when the killer already had an obviously bad game. Because the killer is still a person and there's no need to rub it in if they've lost.
-If the killer is having an obviously bad game, I'll take an L and give him 1k so he can get some BP and maybe safety pip. (this is a reverse of the GIVE THE LAST SURVIVOR THE HATCH, I don't actually believe this is needed just like giving the hatch isn't needed. No one is entitled to a free win)
-Instead of raging REPORTED FOR made up rule whatever slur in post game, I'll either say gg and leave, say nothing and leave, or give actual friendly tips to maybe help them get better.
-If there's an event on that relies on special hooks, instead of doing everything possible to make sure they don't get them (run to a corner with no event hooks, body block all event hooks), I'll let the killer get a few in so they can reach their reward.
-I won't DC when I'm the 2nd to last survivor so the my buddy can get the hatch.
-I won't DC when I miss DS/get hit/downed/before being hooked for the 1st time and let the killer get their BP bonus from the BBQ they're likely running.
-I won't sit in the gates with the 3 other survivors teabagging to rub it in that we won. Instead I'll take the win and leave graciously.
-I won't rant about crutch perks (with all those slurs again) in post game while running super meta survivor perks at the same time. Occasionally these 'crutch' perks are something ridiculous like Bitter Murmurs or Predator...
-I won't tell my SWF mates the killers perks after I die/escape/DC since it in effect ruins any endgame perks and some early game ones and is an insanely unfair advantage.
Hope that helps show a bit of the other side. Even though you're a survivor main you should consider some time as killer, it's like a whole other game and it'll actually help your survivor game out when you can get into the killers mindset.

Heres some resolution ideas for you guys (feel free to add your own):Survivors:
- I'll stop dc'ing when the match takes 2 seconds too long to load
- I'll stop rage quitting and screwing over the rest of the team just because i'm an immature twit
- I'll start prioritizing saving hooked survivors instead of focusing on my gen which i'm already 30% through!
- I'll stop running toward the hooked survivor when being chased so that other survivors can make the save
- I'll be braver and take a hit for an injured survivor rather than let them get downed because its better for the team
- If I see someone almost done breaking an activated totem (or other important action) when the killer is coming i'll distract the killer instead of just hiding
- I'll grow a pair and not be afraid to take a hit in order to rescue a survivor.
- I'll crouch when playing the hag
- I'll crouch when playing the hag
- I'll crouch when playing the hag
- I'll recognize that working a generator, saving someone or healing someone should take priority over searching a chest or breaking a dull totem.
- i'll try to ALWAYS BE DOING SOMETHING ('something' doesn't include hiding)
Killers:
- I will not play 1 v 3 games as real games and instead acknowledge that the 3 REAL PEOPLE out there just got screwed by the dc so will try to make it fun for everyone.
- I will stop overdoing the camping and tunnelling and admit that it's just the cheapest, easiest way to win even if it effectively ruins the game dynamic so that survivors will eventually stop playing
- I'll stop being a hatch fairy and slugging the 3rd survivor to deny the hatch because the smart survivor response will be to just wait it out and drag the game out way too long... just because i'm afraid of the hatch and GOTTA HAVE MY 4K!!!
- I'll stop dc'ing when things don't go my way
- I'll give the last survivor the hatch more often (especially when the hatch is RIGHT THERE)
- I'll make an effort to realize i'm playing against 4 real people and can help make the game fun instead of obsessing over 4ks
- I'll realize that being a jerk in the way I approach the game doesn't make me 'more like a killer'. it just makes me a jerk playing the killer. Ignoring sportsmanship doesn't make me cool.
I don't need to hear killer responses defending their right to do all the things I listed. I refer you to the 1st and last points. Yes, you have every right, but you can also help make it a lot more fun out there instead of getting a few more bloodpoints.
If all these things came true, man it would be a Happy New Year!
Interesting how both Survivor and Killer resolutions you're offering others to use are all to make the game better for the survivor as if the killer is just a tool to be used instead of an actual player who is also trying to have fun. Hmmm...

Remember that idea they mentioned long ago about hex totems not lighting up until the perk is activated (so like when someone gets a ruin skillcheck, then ruin lights up), that would be awesome.
That would fix so many issues with hexes. If Devour Hope didn't light up until 3 tokens, there would be more use to it. It could still be taken out before then by totem hunting survivors but at least there would be a chance it gets at least some use. -

This has to be my favorite. I swapped back to PC when cells launched so I could play as Shirtless David (hence my name).
The stars aligned perfectly.
Other good ones : Mario/Luigi with the matching Dwight outfits, Warm Egg (Rocking war meg head), moist for myers, <--Mori them. -

I doubt they'll ever ban for something they've repeatedly stated on stream is not bannable.
Instead of hoping for that, you should start working on how to counter. If running in SWF make sure your team don't make overly altruistic sacrifices and just get gens done, unless they can coordinate a multi player save (and someones running BT), just hang there and waste the killers time. If you run solo, run kindred so other players know you got leather daddy up in your face or flail like nuts in stage 1 so they know to stay away.
Stop feeding campers. If you feed them, then it just shows them their strategy works. If instead everyone does the smart thing and the killer consistantly only gets 1k and low BP it might make them change up their playstyle or worst case they'll keep doing what they do and it'll suck for 1 survivor but the other 3 will have an easy game. -
Freddy Buff is coming the same day GRRM finishes Winds of Winter.

Immersed Claudette playstyle is not for me.
I'll play with pretty much anyone I get matched with though. Unless it's my poor Dwight butt gets 3 Laurie's in my lobby. Lauries are the devil.
Y'know you can put on some flashy clothes? Boom no "easymode" Claudette
I wear the green smock, it doesn't help, and I'm not about to spend real $ on a survivor I don't like playing.
Plus why wouldn't I just play a QTpie like Dwight or Jeff? It'd be like picking to eat Mcdonalds over a nice steak.
