Hello! I have question/theory. Exploring new map I found glass pieces on the floor and when looked upstairs there was a room. Is this a room from the trailer? Is this place where Rin felt as it is in her history? I think everything is correct and that's the place where Rin died.
Just gonna drop this here: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Family_Residence

Firstly - this is my first time posting, excuse if I posted in the wrong channel or anything.
Now to the topic, I'm a bit surprised no one has brought this up (or maybe i just didn't see it)? Decent killers who are good at the huntress are pretty much impossible to escape against if they have iridescent, but maybe thats the point of an ultra rare addon.. then again other killers ultra rares are not this strong.
I was having a discussion with someone while streaming and I came up with a small buff that still keeps the offering strong but a bit more manageable for survivors.
What if when she hits you with an iridescent hatchet, instead of being insta-downed, you go into the borrowed time state, where you have a time limit to get healed by another survivor before you 'bleed out' and go down. This gives survivors a chance, but the offering is still very powerful because you are still in danger and cannot do any other map objectives until healed. And if you get chased after being hit you are still almost a guaranteed hook unless you escape and get healed.
Thoughts? It is fine where it is because of two facts:
1.) It is an Ultra Rare add-on, it's meant to be powerful.
2.) Almost everyone who runs this add-on uses the Infantry Belt as well meaning they're spending 13k Bloodpoints, the amount of BP some survivors earn over an entire game, on their add-ons. They are paying dearly for the right to use this add-on. -
Just thought up a silly SWF set up for the Mongol theme.
The cosmetics would logically all be Oriental themed so I personally recommend using his whole new outfit or the Jake Bun + Fisherman's Shirt + Ronin Pants. Both sets look Oriental enough to work for the theme. In regard to perks, you will want Self-Care, Leader, Dead-Hard or Sprint Burst (Toughness vs. Speed), and lastly Streetwise or Vigil.
Self-Care I don't have to explain, it's just that good.
Leader stacks and will help the herd rush through actions.
The Exhaustion perks will help the group either absorb damage or ride like the wind.
Streetwise is recommended for Flashlight users and the perk will allow you to make more stuns.
Vigil is recommended for the Jukers as it will buff the group's exhaustion recovery. The Offering you'll want is probably A Shroud of Binding so that you all spawn together. Maybe some streamers or bound envelopes. Since you'll be aggressive it might be a good time to burn some of the clear reagents that have been gathering dust.
Overall just have fun with it, play some Civilization Mongol music in the background to set the mood if you're feeling confident:

Personally, I just want a Wraith player to play a game with: Enduring, Brutal Strength, Fire Up, Spirit Fury, and Shadow Dance. Then record that nightmare. The best Wraith build is the ultra rare "No bell sound" add-on mixed with the new "ghost" add-on that gives 0 terror radius for 6 seconds after uncloak.
Every survivor interaction has been a pull off a generator for me while using this. He is the new jump-scare king. Sorry Myers but step aside.
As great as jumpscares are, it is my belief that watching a pallet, a symbol of safety and protection, get completely obliterated in seconds as the maniac draws in for the kill will be more intense. Additionally, with Spirit's Fury + Enduring on Wraith doesn't this auto uncloak you and give you a free hit?

Until they fix her by removing the "whoosh" (technical term there) noise she will be just a sad Wraith + Nurse hybrid with a face-based light burn. Her power is a crappy slow blink that reveals her location via sound.

The majority of the people who play Dead by Daylight are (hopefully) 18+. This means that many of us have obligations to work to pay for rent on apartments or make mortgage payments, maybe gas money. All in all, we don't have piles of free time just lying around.
I for one am in my college years right now. I think I have seen other users mention schools such as a Pig and a Quentin whose names I won't disclose. Being a student reduces my playtime so every suboptimal game hits harder than when I was relaxing over the summer.
Overall, this game's got a heck of a grind, and when we feel we've had our time wasted we can be, difficult.

@Nickenzie Well when the next reset hits, try a perkless run to rank 1. After all, playing perkless usually teaches me a thing or two about how I usually play.

While am by no means the most knowledgable person on this subject I do believe that I have an answer for you. On PC I believe that the majority of the cosmetic issues were resolved. How to counter Rancor.
Strategy 1) Rush 2 gens minimum and be last guy. Use hatch.
Strategy 2) Rush all gens and leave sneaky-beaky-like.
Strategy 3) Rush all gens and use Wake Up or Spine Chill (or both) and rush a door. -
I know right? It would also make the game more immersive and scary if you didn't know how your survivor friends were health wise. I mean the important health risk, the hook, has a loud scream that should be fairly obvious to understand. I really see no reason to not work on this idea.Orion said:Love this idea. I bring flashlights sometimes, but I use them as a coordination aid. I can point more precisely with a beam than an emote. Not to mention that the clicking sound can help let others know where you are.

Meanwhile with the survivors . . .
I'm not questioning your methods or anything, but if you could try tunneling a little less, that'd be great.
-
Personal Example
Mate, you're not entitled to see the full value of an offering every match. In the game I just played, I used the "Yamoaka Family Crest" to get the Family Residence map for the generator achievement. I repaired the generator but died at the end-game after rescuing a Claudette (no regrets!). I shouldn't whine about not getting my intended use out of the offering just as you shouldn't either.
Number crunching
A "Bloody Party Streamers" costs 5000BP, assuming that the effect was applied + the Bloodhunt you should have gained a total of 15000BP. That BP gain should be enough to sate your BP thirst as the average match where a survivor dies at the end nets roughly 15k-18k BP. Besides, its not like you won't see more of them.
-
@Eveline You could always use it as a signalling tool. The clicking will let survivors (and the killer) know where you are. Not to mention you can point faster and more accurately with a flashlight beam than the emote.

@Nickenzie My proposal to indirectly lengthen generator repairs are "Gas Cans". There would be a total of 4 cans per generator. Each canister would allow for 25% progress to be made on a generator. Upon using a gas can you lock the progress to the respective level.
For example, you encounter a generator. You cannot repair it until you use 1 gas can. After applying the can (one guaranteed moderately difficult skillcheck) you will be able to begin repairs up to 25%. If the killer regresses the generator during this time it will regress to 0%. After being fully repaired to 25% that progress is saved but the generator shuts down. After another can is used the generator will hum back to life and can now be repaired to 50%. If the killer regresses the generator at this time it will regress, but not past 25%. This pattern will continue until the generator is fully repaired.
Gas Canisters will be hidden throughout the whole map and can be carried in a survivor's off hand. They do not prevent you from carrying items. I would also ensure that more Gas Canisters would be found inside of structures.
Overall this will force survivors to consistently stop repairs and search for cans to continue repairs. The commute from can to the generators will increase times enough to slow down the objective and prolong the game a fair amount.
With this addition I'd also add three perks:
- One survivor perk that lets you either see the aura of cans close by (or acts like small game) or you gain the ability to carry to cans at a time.
- One killer perk to allow them to regress generators past the locked tiers
- One killer perk to allow the killer to move a single gas can at a time.
What do you think?

@scumrrado Another thing to consider is the occasion. In all of the classic horror films most killers acted alone and out of personal interest. In Dead by Daylight the Entity is calling the shots and we'll, I don't think Evan is too keen on making the boss mad. In fact, I don't think that any of the killers are really overjoyed at the thought of upsetting the Entity. This fear is of their leader is probably why the Wraith moves so darn fast in the spirit world, he doesn't want to be lurking in the realm of his boss any longer than necessary. Overall just remember, in DBD you kill because of the boss, not on your own agenda.
-
The things is, honestly Evan is the worst example for this as "using his abilities closer" would entail him setting up a trap right behind you, at least in my mind. As a Survivor main that also plays a fair bit of Doctor and Huntress let me say that Presense can have power. I think that the Killers' need the speed for one reason, commuting. Sure, a smaller TR and slower speed might help me sneak up on some folks, but others will be vigilant and run at the first sign. On top of this, suppose that you catch one person and hook them. Now you need to get around the map with a slower speed. Overall I just feel that slower base speeds would be a mistake.scumrrado said:@Peasant said:
@scumrrado said:
Most killers should not have a base speed over 100%. In what slasher movie was the killer naturally faster than the "survivors," without the use of supernatural abilities? Pretty much none. Most slashers use stealth, strategic advantage (traps, location awareness), or supernatural abilities to confirm kills. Not base run speed. DBD should replicate this.
It feels like crap as a survivor to die to a killer because they're impossible to run away from. All the juking and stuns in the world can be caught up to. Maps are either way too open or way too closed. Scratch marks from running are too easy to follow, but how else do you get away? Being chased forever isn't scary. It's annoying.
On the flip side, it feels like crap to be stuck in a loop as a killer. Survivors shouldn't have to resort to stalling, ping, or bugs to get away. It should be rewarding as the killer to down a survivor, rather than easy. It should be terrifying to encounter the killer as a survivor, not damning.
Nerf killer base run speeds, remove loops, remove some more pallets, reduce terror radii, etc. Heck, even buff killer abilities. The point is, at the start of the match with zero perks, no killer should be able to outrun a survivor.
Thoughts, my killer mains?

A Myers player asking for slower base speed. Hoo, boy.
Look, killers are supposed to kill. In the sense of a horror game, they're supposed to scare everyone at least once. If you nerf the base speed of the killers you won't be scary because you won't be a threat.
Here's an example:
Let's say you're repairing a generator and you hear the heartbeat grow louder as Evan Macmillan in the flesh is barreling towards you. Most people will run away because the risk is that he will injure them. In this example, his presence is a threat. Now imagine you're on the same generator and as you scan your area in a 360% circle you spot Evan very slowly crawling towards you at the speed of a standard survivor crouch. There's almost no fear here because you have all of the power. You can calmly repair until he's nearly on top of you and then just run away with zero consequences.
The point I'm trying to make is that killers need to be scary through tension. All killers in Dead by Daylight should be there to scare and kill you. You know something's wrong when all a killer does is annoy you more than anything else.
If you really want a slower game I have but 1 request. Since I will assume you're a Myers main, use Judith's Tombstone and a Scratched Mirror with the following perks:
Monitor & Abuse
Iron Grasp
BBQ & Chili
RuinThis build will give you the slowest killer we can currently make and will also remove your terror radius. Play this way for a game or two and then let me know what speed you want killers to be. (Use Black Wards if you've got 'em.)
I do love Myers when I play killer! hahaha
But to be transparent I am a survivor main.
I think a good balance to lowering the killer base speed would be to lower the terror radius, among other things. Think Pig. It's terrifying when you scan around at a gen and find Pig crouching up behind you! It'd be similar, only killers wouldn't move that slow nor need to crouch. With good ability usage, the killer would have a huge advantage on survivors at such close range if they can land their abilities. I think this would preserve the terror that makes this game so great!
Think of how much more terrifying it'd feel if you didn't notice Evan until he was that much closer to you! He'd have to use his abilities to down you because otherwise he'd be outrun, but the close range gives Evan better odds to land those abilities. If he failed, survivors are rewarded with time and speed to escape. As of right now, it feels like if a killer fails their initial pounce, they're not really punished for it.

Lol, I understand how you feel. Used to have so many negative comments on my Steam profile that I had to put it on private at some point. Some people are sportsmanlike and will say good game, others are salty as hell and throw some trash at you that isn't true. Same goes to the ''ez'' spam when I go against SWF & DS. I just let it happen and move on. The toxic and salty people stand out, so instead of attacking back I just leave and hope that maybe one day these people will realize how incredibly immature they are and turn to the good side. Can't say I have met many actual friendly people in the games i've had, and when I do it's mostly killers (I'm a survivor main with a neutral opinion). You should open up your profile again, now with the reporting rule update, no one with a brain will post hate. Rancor does the following:
During the main game
- Reveals the aura of the survivors to you for 3 seconds
Reveals you to the obsession for 5/4/3 seconds
During the end gameExposes the Obsession AFTER the last generator has been repaired
- Grants the ability to kill the obsession after downing them (without any hooks needed)
Honestly, I don't know where to begin with you. Rancor is subjectively a bad perk, let me explain why.
For the majority of the trial, Rancor will do almost nothing to help the killer. It's survivor aura effect is ripped straight off of Bitter Murmer which tracks better. The only difference is Rancor effects people even when they weren't on the generator for a much shorter time. It's main redeeming quality is how it exposes the obsession and let's you Mori them. However, this is not flawless. You can only kill the Obsession if they are still alive and you can find them. Assuming that you can't find them you essentially wasted a perk slot. Furthermore, if you are killing the obsession all remaining survivors are escaping. It should be noted being exposed doesn't mean jack if you can't hit them, as the instakill only applies to melee attacks. Finally Spine Chill can reveal your intent and give just the speed needed to get out the door.
