How about we just get to choose our menu music from a list, devs? That way the music creators can rest easy knowing that their work is permanently available to their audience.

Some map tips for you:
Lery's Memorial Institute and The Game both have exit signs above the doorways of the rooms near the exits.
Make sure you repair generators equally on both sides of Azarov's Resting Place otherwise you will lose.
Hatch can only spawn on bottom floor of The Game.

Because survivors dont want a horror game they want a killer bullying simulator.Because some killer mains can't resist typing insults instead of actual facts since most survivors want the killers to be more powerful.
Most Survivors are implicitly against that idea since they don't speak up when the vocal ones try to shut down any and all Killer buffs they can.
I thought I was speaking for killer buffs?

@MauXD24 Swf was created so that people wouldn't constantly drop lobbies just to play with their friends.
If the groups are toxic, watch what they type. The minute they break a rule, screenshot and report. It's the only way to get rid of them. -
@sergantuss I think you meant to say: ", Add a casual mode."

So, if killer won't pick survivor up straight away, he can't hook them anymore?I never intended to imply that. I just want survivors to have a slight increase in speed from recovering. For example, 15% or something.
If you want to recover faster equip Unbreakable: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Unbreakable
If killers want slower games and must use Ruin then it is only fair that survivors must sacrifice a perk slot to recover faster. -
@Eveline I forgot to mention it counters the Order affliction.

Step 1. Waste time spamming traps as they waste flashlight charges
Step 2. Use Franklin's Demise to destroy the flashlight as most folks use an item up almost completely then saves the last 1-5 charges to keep the item when they escape.
Step 3. Revel in their rage as they likely DC in a pathetic attempt to keep their flashlight. -
@RuneStarr You could consider gifting a gift card code for the respective platform instead of Auric cells.

They never nerfed Plunderer's Instinct!

@Jack11803 @Beverly While your reasons make sense in a gameplay sense the marketing seems lost. Why did you two buy Dead by Daylight in the first place? The game was intended to be a horror game but it would seem that almost nobody plays it like that now. What keeps you playing Dead by Daylight if you're not here for the scares?
-
My favorite moment was a match on Gas Heaven as Huntress. I was on the hill by the gas station and I saw a survivor so I threw a nice trickshot and downed them. Soon after that, I downed another person.

Greetings friends, I go by the title Peasant both here and on the Steam platform. I have around 680 hours in Dead by Daylight.
I "lead" the Dead by Daylight Campfire Steam group which is open to all non-toxic players. Feel free to friend me if you want in. -

That simply wouldn't work. Too many killers would opt out and it create too many new problems. SWF isn't as big of a problem as Self Care. Even with teamwork there's a commute to the injured ally. Self Care with solo players is the larger problem.sulaiman said:I actually dont think self care is such a big problem.
IF i were to change something, i would change SWF, and make it an option you can Choose to accept. If you do (as a killer), you get some kind of Bonus. Additional BP for example, but better some ingame-advantage, like additional perk slots, or something else. Due to that, even solo player may join the swf-option, because they get a bigger challenge. I doubt that in an all-solo-player game without outside communication the advantages are that big.

You Kate mains will have your day (American Flag outfit confirmed, just not released).

@Eveline I personally recommend that you use it until you remember where the spawns are post-Spirit. After that I recommend Kindred III as camping is rampant right now and BT won't directly benefit you. If I were in your shoes I'd swap SB with BT, but that's just me.

I play killer and survivor but recently I have been trying to stick to survivor for the shorter queue. While I don't make nearly as many points as my doc can (72k BP < 170k BP) the faster games balance it out a little. I already have all of the previous teachables and I got Spirit Fury earlier so honestly I just need Adam's perks now and I will be content. This is the problem. Survivors need to make more, so people actually play em and balance matchmaking out

Can survivors not use every exploit they have? If so, maybe we can talk.
Soft camp is an efficient killer strategy, so what else killer supposed too do? Give free unhook to survivors who genrush, pallet loop and tbag? Rly?I'm just asking you lovely folks to mix it up a bit. Survivors won't be scared of you if they're too busy being upset that they're facing the tenth camper/tunneler of that day.

Maybe that is because some adults believe manners matter.
Maybe you should rethink yours.Maybe this game is mainly played by kids who play as the survivor and make me never want to host a game again when all they do is abuse the mechanics and the devs don
t give ashit! I have manners but Im sick of getting threats to kill my self or my family after beating survivors I did get a few people a warning and banned from ps4 for that stuff.
As for now, I`m not spending a penny on this till they stop killers being a joke to overpowered survivors.
You will not have a game to play when killers get fed up and stop hosting lobby.I can't blame you for being frustrated. This game was advertised as horror but instead, it's just a joke. The biggest problem is Self-Care. Survivors need to fear the killers and right now we're just all mutually upset. At low to mid ranks, all I'm seeing is tunneling and camping. Hell, I just got out a match where a Spirit player tunneled the obsession and killed them early despite having Rancor. The game needs fixing on both sides.
Survivors:
We NEED to be knocked off of our high horse, the fact that we as a group have almost entirely become dependant on Self-Care is abhorrent. This is the biggest problem with the game hands down. If games are going to be longer, then survivors will need to be forced to look for allies for heals. Being injured for an extended period of time will create tension that will mimic terror and actually bring back the fear. The whole reason games aren't long enough is because survivors are self-sustaining. I get that the game isn't meant to be realistic, but the self-healing mechanic is broken. I'd be fine with removing it entirely but that would make the other survivors upset so I guess we'll just have to nerf the speed of self-care 6 feet under. There are other problem perks such as Decisive Strike but at least each player can only do that once. I politely ask that anyone who wants to defend Self-Care please make a detailed explanation on how a self-healing mechanic can create fear in a horror game.Killers:
You guys need stronger perks alongside some mechanic tweaks. The key to being a good scary killer is to be unique. With a plethora of unique powers and perks, this should be easy, no? I understand that there's a blasted META that some folks use, but that's to be expected. The main point I'm trying to make here is that you should strive to be unique, and S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Survivors won't be afraid if they're annoyed. So if you only camp and tunnel:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Deg7VrpHbMI respect these strategies but recently every. single. killer. has been using the camp and tunnel strategy. The game has no fear factor right now because everyone is doing the same thing. It's bland, repetitive, and annoying (Like playing with Self-Care). Nobody is scared because they're just exhausted and annoyed. Be unique, be scary, and focus on the fear. You don't necessarily need to kill everyone if you scare them all to death. I understand this is a lot to ask, and that there will always be exceptions. At ranks 1-5 no survivors will be scared easily (or at all) but that's why you have a whole 10 other ranks.
We as a community need to make Dead by Daylight into the horror game we wanted, otherwise, what are we even playing?

Good survivor game 70k BP
Good doctor game 173k BP -

Personally I find the increased killer queue time ridiculous for 1 key reason. People said the Spirit would be bad all during the lead up to her release. Now she's here and even worse "whooshing sound" + insta blind. Yet I can't get a lobby because y'all are playing . . .
. . . a bad killer? Dwuh?! -
Eventually folks will realize they can peak corners without having limbs stick out. Or they can hug boulders and walls while checking their camo.thesuicidefox said:I want to say no because we don't need any more immersed p3 Clauds Urbaning around. Do you play killer? Because if you did you'd realize the most frustrating thing is finding these guys. You shouldn't be rewarded for hiding in a bush thinking it takes any sort of skill.
Stealth is easy in this game. Most people though don't seem to understand how to actually do it, but when you do you become a ghost. The killer will never find you.
-
How in the bloody heck are survivors repairing generators without fuel?!
We NEED "GAS, GAS, GAS!!!" -
@narva2200 That's odd, for the most part, I can usually spot the Wraith's shimmer as he gets closer. I know I can definitely hear his footsteps when he comes in for the uncloak.

Amen to that. They need to reverse the skill checks on freddy so that you need to hit a great skill check on self care to wake up. Not fail one! If they do this i will have no more problems and dont even need a buff. Maybe a small speed buff is in order but even still I destroy everyone w Freddy as it is. If they give me a buff im gonna be retiring survivors. on the daily! But then Survivors will get so good at great skill check that Hex: Ruin stocks will plummet in value!

What I want to see is a test match in which the killer is locked in the third person while the survivors are locked in first person.
I am all for the option to play in the first person as a survivor; as part of the reason killers aren't scary is due to the fact that we fail to accurately see them. Granted we can see the proportional size differences between killer and survivor in the third person but it's not the same. What's better:
Seeing Leatherface walk towards you with the saw raised right as you pop a generator, or . . .
. . . As the clatter of pistons reaches its climax a blinding light, a beacon, fills the night sky. But your hope and peace turn to dread when just to your left the hulking figure of a man comes out of the shadows. In what seems like seconds its muscled arms block out the full moon with a chainsaw whose revving engine drowns out all other noise. Your screams fall silent to the engine's roar as the beast lurches forward cutting your body and splitting your mind with raw agony.
Personally, I'm all for 1st person survivor. After all, I think there's a reason I don't see too many other horror games where the victim is in the 3rd person for a reason.

Keep in mind Ted Talks are independed speakers and independed organizers, so there really is no standard to their quality or objective truth. When listening to someone hold a talk, especially on the internet but also in real life, your first instinct is to go and say "this is probably right". But always ask yourself "does this actually make sense? And can I get an educated second opinion on that".Cus there's some ted talks I've seen that where dishonest and exploitative. The same way politics can be dishonest and exploitative, and cults are dishonest and exploitative. (among other things)
While I understand your concerns and initially shared them myself after some brief reflection I could see the wisdom in the speaker's words. For example, when you ask the question "Oh why me?" you aren't actually doing anything worthwhile. Meanwhile by asking "What did I do?" it causes you to re-evaluate the events leading up to the unfortunate circumstance and thus learn from your mistakes.
After studying the rules of the forum I made certain that the content I had planned on posting would be both relevant and productive, to an extent.
