Not all swf groups are awful. Some are just a group of friends who are hanging out in a game they like. This being said, I have encountered many coordinated teams that just sucked to play against.
-
Something super cool about the yellow mori is that it does not require you to hook the last survivor before killing them.

Too much of the same thing can drive you insane. I would say variety is the spice of life and if you're finding killer too mind boggling boring and aggravating, try survivor for a bit. You could also try different perk builds and play around or set different goals for yourself than the ones present in game. If you're playing too much of one killer, try one of the characters you don't play often or one with a different play style from the one you're currently playing. When I find Survivor irritating me, I'll switch over to Killer, change my perk build and my goals, or just play a different game/take a break. Both Survivor and Killer has their upsides and downsides and they're typically a quite different play style from each other. -

Would love this! I run Shadowborn on most my killers just because the default FOV is so small.I'd love a third person killer option too, I wanna see my cosmetics god damnit

Killers have first person + tunnel vision for balancing purposes. A third person camera would make them overpowered.
Well, I imagine that there's some way a killer could have a third person perspective and not be overpowered. Perhaps a simple over the shoulder perspective might be fair. I understand that killers shouldn't have a fully dynamic third-person camera. However, I do believe that some options are available and fair, they just need to be tested.

Unless I'm mistaken I thought the matchmaking changes were in effect. It's why PS4 survivor queues have become tests of patience.

Once a borrowed time user has been discovered you should attempt hook grabs or hook lunges to remove the hero of the group.

im complaining because its not fun to play against it. as i said - if youre the one on the hook youre pretty much afk
if youre another survivor all you do is gens
if youre the killer youre afk too.
it takes away the fun part of the game wich is the chase."because it's not fun to play against"?!
Oh that's just precious. You know, Decisive Strike isn't fun to play against and nobody is asking that we remove that. Borrowed Time isn't a fun perk to play against and no one is asking to remove that perk either. There are plenty of survivor perks that aren't fun for killers just as there are killer perks that are unfun for survivors. I say we let both sides keep their ability to be mutually unfun and call it a day. I mean, unless you just want to play the game with no perks on either side.

Honestly the event is just too boring for me. Granted, the Huntress cosmetics are okay, but I have never been much of a Feng Fanatic. Furthermore Ace's cosmetics just don't really appeal to me.
The whole thing is just too grindy in my eyes. I personally think that the whole grind for an entire outfit, actually several full outfits is just too grindy. Last year folks had to grind for one mask and one shirt. I think that was great. Plus, these 2 items were event exclusive so there was an actual motive to grind for them.
This year though we've been seeing full outfits that you can grind for, or just buy later.
There's just too much work, for a reward that doesn't really feel special.
What I hope to see in the future is the classic event style cosmetics with 1 item for survivor and 1 for killer. Lock those items to only being unlockable during the event and call it a day.
-
Mr.X gonna give it to you?Tsulan said: -
There is a chance that your friend has gotten almost all of the coins. It would just require non-stop grinding as a survivor since the event dropped yesterday. As long as your friend had free time and didn't sleep I suppose it could be done.

Yeah this event is total hogwash. Pandered to the survivor side. Tried to play survivor but q times to long on ps4. It's about a joke to use offering as killer especially when it takes forever to break a vial and then it's not even worth the blood points. At rank one and swf will finish this event in no time.I was hoping to play this event purely for the BP gain, I played survivor and realised there isn't much BP gain, is it the same for killer as well? Do you remember the extra points you got?
Well if you offer an envelope and hold a vessel as a survivor you get a steady stream of 500 BP every few moments. So it can't be that bad for the survivor.

I main jake because when I started playing Dead by Daylight I had never heard about the sabotage nerf of updates past. That, and I can use his cosmetics to look like anyone from a samurai to a peasant to a hobo.

@TheBean said:
Actually I find it kind of odd, they expect killers to perform a perfect match of hooking everyone 3 times... AND... They expect all the survivors to put out red envelopes, cause if all survivors don't, the killer has no way to get the 45 points. Only 2 survivors need to put out envelopes to for all survivors to get 45 points.I do find that odd.
In the defense of the devs, the envelopes offer extra bloodpoints and can only be offered during this event so I fail to see why a person who has an envelope wouldn't use it.
I'm not stupid, I know that you get only get 1-3 envelopes per bloodweb and that high-level bloodwebs can take up to 50k bloodpoints to clear and generate a new one.
I'm just saying that realistically, people who play survivor will offer up envelopes as often as they can so this idea that there will plenty of matches with multiple envelopes isn't unreasonable.
-
There is a key difference in the hooks and generators this year. This year all generators and hooks are lunar. This means that the "You can't sabo event hooks" protection does not apply to this event.
-
Yeah, I'll be real here: Survivors pretty much control whether or not killers can get points. If they want they can keep vessels up and run so far away that by the time you can close the distance and get to the vessels the survivor has been rescued so you can't smash the vessels. Hooks are vulnerable to sabotage because all of the hooks are "events hooks" so making all hooks unbreakable would be OP so instead they're all breakable. And the nail in the coffin is that for a killer to get good points, they need to hook each survivor three times. Which can be denied by gen-rushing or intentional suicides done out of spite. Killers have without a doubt gotten the short end of the stick this event.
-
If you look at r/deadbydaylight on Reddit there is a reminder bot that will automatically remind you when the event starts with a notification. Provided you request a reminder of course.No_Cluie_Louis said:what time does it start does anyone know

Standard, garden variety DCs I can live with, but these idiots that DC and cause the game to crash. Yeah, not so much. I'm a reasonable person, if I'm a killer and there is a DC I'll farm a little if I'm not in a hurry. If I am a survivor and we get no gens done and folks start dropping like flies I'll turn myself in. However, I can't do either of those things if I crash. I say, fix the crashing now, then the DCing later.

How about no?JohnTed said:I suggest to add the following items
1. shotgun with 1 bullet only. It can shoot killer backward and make killer faint for 3 seconds.
2. shield at back which can take 1 strike.
3. Speaker which can fake killer where survivor is.
4. sensors which can detect where killer is
5. Walkie talkie, survivors can know their locations each other all the time when all survivors bring it. -
The problem with totem spawn changes is that they only have an effect in the short term. After time survivors and killers alike will learn all of the spawn locations.
All they can do is make them as obscured as possible to make folks waste time searching tiles. -
This is not possible. Survivor teams would simply abuse the system to give thier friends BP while they de-ranked by disconnecting.
Perhaps once we have dedicated servers this will work. -

On Spirit you're honestly better off with Stridor. This is due to the fact that she can't always see bloodstains. Therefore the louder sounds are better. Besides the 25%/ loud base breathing volume will make gen searching a little easier.Poweas said:@Peasant said:

Sloppy butcher,
Bloodhound,
Shadowborn,
And A Nurses calling?Would I actually become un-jukable? Also is bloodhound worth running on Spirit?
Not sure about the Wraith stuff yet. I will double check though.
Wait I am dumb, the Wraith build will work. It will work because once you get a hit in the survivor leaves a clear bloodtrail that is only more clear with increased fov. This means that should you lose the survivor you should be able to spin and quickly spot a blood pool and pick up the trail again. Though I would advise swapping out Nurse's for Brutal Strength or Enduring just to help with pallets. -
It seems to occur for me whenever I try to do more than just Dead by Daylight. Try to only have DBD running and restart if you get the screen. That's all I have.

The hatchet cooldown is shorter than your standard melee swing, so it's definitely possible.

The only maps I can see this perk being useful on are The Game and Lery's Memorial Institute. Not seeing hook auras doesn't really matter unless there are walls preventing you from getting to hooks. In general, because this perk is more annoying than it is effective you're more likely to be camped with this than to actually break free with it.

Wedding bell sounds for Wraith? Why not just give Wraith Big Ben bongs while you're at it for our English Dbd players?

I have only two requests:
1.) Being able to choose what music plays in the menus.
2.) Being able to "scrap" or "craft" common offerings and items into other offerings and items or Bloodpoints.

Don't forget to tell @Master about your math here. They were asking for this stuff for a while in another thread about gens.

This is just another instance of "This is why we can't have nice things."

From what I understand both sides can earn points by playing regularly. The difference being that survivors can earn bonus points by escaping with a lantern and killers can earn bonus points from smashing the lanterns.
This might all be wrong, but this is what I have heard. -
What is with these survivors nowadays? I had a match earlier where someone was upset that I defended a basement with hooked survivors inside to secure kills.
"You didn't even give them a chance to escape, therefore you are a bad killer."
No folks, a bad killer is one that doesn't kill anyone. -
I think that you can unlock the cosmetics even if the chararcha is not yet owned. That is how it has been in the previous events, anyway.

The thing is, when you see an obvious hook farm you should target the unhooked person. Not because it's effective, but because of the emblems and bloodpoints.blue4zion said:People will be people. It's such a pain to be on the side that gets unhooked. It's incredibly discouraging and there's little you can do.
If I'm playing killer and this happens, I will never go for the unhooked person. I hate it when it happens to me, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone else. Sometimes I do accidentally hit them but I don't pick em up.
When someone does a faulty save, they gain 1k BP and will gain another 500 BP unless you hit the rescued person. On top of this, striking down the farm victim hurts the rescuer's benevolence emblem. By targeting the farm victim you can deny BP and help the other survivors rank up while the farmer gets held back.
You don't have to re-hook the victims, but give them a good smack to hurt their farmers. -
You said it yourself that more survivors might switch to killer. These people might DC just to deny coins once they've had their fill.Delfador said:@Peasant said:
The real problem is that survivors need to escape with a vessel, thing to get the most points. So if the killer dcs, then you get no coins for the vessels. We might see a sharp rise in killer dcs soon.Uhm generally 'killer mains' come up with these kind of conspiracy theories where one side becomes evil and tries to prevent the other side at whatever cost.
Maybe 1 in 10 games survivors saboed my hooks in other events. I don't think that killers will DC just to not give survivors their coins.
That is just my personal experience and opinion though.

Well when you put it like that I guess the community doesn't want to see shirtless Myers at all. Yessir, the whole community despises the idea of a shirtless Myers.Zagrid said:The Dev's seem to have a trend of doing the opposite of what the community asks. We ask for mending to be a healing action, they made snap out of it and wake up not healing actions. We ask for gens to be done slower, now they made them go faster. We ask for DS and Noed to be removed, now they made both of them better with hooks being farther apart for DS and made gens go faster so Noed would be used even more often.
I've never seen a Dev team go more against what their community wants. -
What about the problem of Discordance? Legion's release wasn't too long ago was it?fluffybunny said:I'd say don't bother with WGLF and put on Prove Thyself and Bond. Bond so you can find people to work on gens with (and avoid people running the killer around and find injured people who lost the killer) and Prove Thyself for the yummy bonus. It's so much easier to do than WGLF stacks. You either need to take hit for those or be lucky enough to get them while they're not being camped. If they are camped, they're either going immediately down or you're trading with them and there's your 1 stack.
I'd personally go with Bond, Prove Thyself, Self care, and Botany/sprint perk/Hope. Most of my builds have a solid two perks and the next two are random.
