Well it will deactivate automatically when you are within 12 meter range of a survivor. They have a terror radius for a reason. Then it works as an indicator of when Survivors are near.

First, let me just say that the thread title is patently wrong.

If a killer is using 2 to 4 perks all centered around making healing difficult… guess what?
Healing should be difficult!!
Because he lost all his tools to pressure the gens, help in a chase, delay gens or help finding survivor. The point is that killers are using different builds and doing well with said different builds and by that logic survivors shouldn't have to run 2-4 perk slots to counter killers etc.
Indeed, Killers should have builds designed to counter one or more aspects of the Survivors' gameplay, and those builds should take up multiple perk slots. Builds are, after all, an "all-in" type thing. You can either be a jack-of-all-trades and be average at countering any one thing, or you can dive into countering one thing and that one thing will be nigh-impossible for the Survivors to do.
However, since this is an asymmetrical game, it should take more perk slots from each individual Survivor to counter any one Killer than it does for each Killer to counter any one aspect of the Survivors' gameplay. -
The flaw is that Bloodlust was created to shorten chases. It wasn't created to help Killers patrol the map. Another flaw is that Killers could abuse this to get hits on Survivors.

It still amazes and frustrates me when I meet Rank 3 survivors that dont know you have to crouch against the Hag.
Jesus, I just got you carefully off the hook and now you summoned her because you had to run. What? Did you think I just crouch across the map because I like it?So I really don't think Hag needs a nerf. Players just need to finally learn to crouch or use flashlights.
The problem is that they think crouching is only useful for teabagging.

Hex perks at least have to be cleansed and make it into the trial and I can choose to run them or not. These survivors don't get that option. This is literally giving the finger to the survivors who choose to play it the way the game was designed and balanced.Pre-game chat exists, you know.
Yes but what if a person is going for the Adept achievement or more than 1 is, they can't both run it.
Sure they can. The achievement doesn't require you to use the perk's effect, and one of them would get the benefit.
-
This happened to me as the Spirit, but I figured it was just lag and ignored it.

The problem I see with doing that is solo que survivors. Say 4 survivors solo que into a lobby. All want to use DS, so all equip it. 1 gets to use it, the other 3 get shorted a perk.Welcome to the world of Hex perks.

I doubt this will become meta. Although many Survivors like to claim aura-reading perks are OP, there's a reason they're underused by Survivors - it's simply not true.

@Origin @yeet The discussion made me think of something and perhaps it's already been discussed before. There wa sa thread it might've been @Nickenzie where a bleed out option was discussed allowing the survivor to bleed out quicker. Now currently if the survivor bleeds out the killer gets nothing so it behooves them to get that hook in quicker but for survivors sitting there for 3 minutes is annoying as well.
So how about this idea that benefits both sides similar to the bleed out idea in that one thread.
The survivor can choose to increase their bleed out and kill themselves faster so if it's normally 3 minutes it's now 1 and 1/2 minutes instead.
If they're on a 30 second timer well now it's 15 seconds instead and so on and this ends the frustration for the survivor. For the killer they get to decide what to do much quicker but also have to decide what's more important now.
Bonuses to both sides idea.
For the killer, if a survivor decides to bleed out quicker then they have a debuff added to them similar to the broken status effect but this is an exhaustion effect.
If they get healed up they have an exhaustion status effect and their blood drops and cries of pain are 25% bigger and louder.
This is the trade off for going this route for the survivor, you take a chance you won't get rescued in order to force the killer to either go further away looking or come closer.
As a bonus if you bleed out and the last survivor makes it out successfully you get a bonus to blood points awarded post trial.
For the killer you get a death bonus for the survivor dying trying to let the other person out if you kill the other survivor. If you get the other person you get 2x the bonus instead of the normal bonus for killing them.
This is the killers reward for taking the risky action of letting that person bleed out and possibly getting nothing for 2 survivors instead of nothing for just one.
Note: This definitely needs some tweaking since it's based upon only 10 minutes of thought.
There was a thread with a similar suggestion. Long story short, I agree with this in theory, as long as there's some way to objectively verify that the Killer has no intention of hooking anyone and nobody can get back up. Otherwise, you'd just have Survivors doing this to troll each other (let's not pretend it doesn't happen) or to get out of the trial faster without DCing.
-
Hm, I could've sworn I read this same exact thread some time ago. Could this be an alt?

The only way you'd call it hostage taking is where we discussed this before with the killer repeatedly picking you up and dropping you.
If they see the other person and go after them or know hey he's close I'll go look for him it's not hostage taking.
After the third drop, you wiggle free. Still not hostage taking.
I was referring to where i'd discussed not sure if you were in that thread where the killer wouldn't actually hook you but kept picking me up and chasing me.
The other match was the killer would wait until I had a crow then drop me and carry me around and if I didn't wiggle they'd simply carry me everywhere.
If I wiggled free they'd simply chase and down me then rinse and repeat.
Stop running, go make yourself a sandwich, report that ######### afterward.

am i the only person who doesnt understand why a mid chapter patch even exstists? why limit to juts 1 big patch after a chapter when you can juts update as you go or just make the perk changes when the chapter actually comes out. Waiting is boring especially when you are an entitled killer [BAD WORD] like me.To iron out bugs, have some semblance of a schedule, not break the matchmaking (different versions can't play together, so if you release 2 hotfixes a week, you break it twice a week), and because people complained about the constant hotfixes.
Now people complain that there arent enough fixes ¯_(ツ)_/¯
True, people will complain anyway, but I listed several other reasons why this way is better.
True but i would like for them to fix simple glitches and exploits that could be easily fixed instead of having to wait three months for the next chapter to release.
So would I, but this way is more structured.

The only reason I can think of is they do not know how to differentiate between SWF and solo queues after the game.why would doing it for solo queues be a problem?
False reports clogging up the system, perks and addons can make every game different, if someone uses a Killer addon to see through walls for example they shouldnt get reported for wall hacking, they want players to see what each one was using at the end of the game so certain things happening made sense, thats not the problem it all comes down to SWF abusing that info when someone dies.
False reports clogging the system? That's a stretch don't you think? Just make reporting unavailable until the end of the match. Unless you're talking about steam reports through the overlay.
Anyone who plays Killer for an extended period of time knows that they'll get reported for everything under the sun, including not letting someone live (hatch), "tunneling", "camping", and a bunch of other made-up Survivor rules. The problem is that those Survivors confuse their made-up rules with the actual rules of the game and make many false reports.

This change will just increase camping for two reasons:
1. Killers who don't want to rank up.
2. Survivors hook rushing. -
I've updated the OP to reflect the Steam problem.

I've confirmed it's happening to many people. Seems they're tinkering around with the spam filter and now he can't send me messages. Until they've fixed this, the stream is on hold.

Yes it did. All tiers now give Exposed to all Survivors.
Lets face it. The earlier tiers are not used anyway and only matter at rank 20 maybe.
Tier 3 has not changed and thats the only thing that mattersNo, as long as all tiers exist, all tiers matter. You may say the buff was inconsequential, but don't pretend it didn't happen.
I will never see a difference in my games, so for me, nothing changed
Sure, at rank 20 survivors will start complaining about NOED earlier now

I'll never see any differences in BBQ either because I don't use it, doesn't mean it's not a perk that exists.
You never play surivor?^^
Fair point, but then I ask the same to you. Now that NOED gives Exposed (the only reason the perk is even used) across all tiers, are you sure you won't see tiers 1 and 2 of NOED being used?
-
Nope. If the changes to pallets make a difference in looping, this might actually make me play the game more.

When they increased the time on hook, it helped a lot against camping. I guess they can add 10-20 more seconds if it were to become an issue. But let's be honest, who's gonna stay and camp, while the other survivors are doing all the gens. I mean that's not a fun game, it's all about the chase. So you want them to chase, but you also want to remove their ability to know where to go to initiate chases.
Have you played before leatherface?
Yes. I've been playing from the start. How about you?
There are times when you've no idea where to go. No missed skill checks, no scratch marks, no crows flying away, no locker sounds, no audio notifications, no repaired generators, nothing. BBQ gives Killers an idea of where to go next when all else fails, and provides an incentive (BP) to hook different Survivors.Just check gens like before. You can't seriously say you can't find survivors if you don't have BBQ, c'mon.
Sure I can. In fact, I don't even use BBQ. The point is, some Killers need the aura to feel like it's worth their time.
Removing a perk that incentivizes not camping will increase camping; this is basic common sense.
-
He's the original Killer, the very first one that you could play, way back in the beta.

There are plenty of killers who get paranoid and camp if they can't see the other 3 auras. It's a 40-meter radius. If you can't see the auras and there are no generators nearby, it probably means they're coming to you.
