  • What would be the point if you would just get back on the hook again? This is fine.

  • Now you actually need to be on the side that you want to stay on after dropping the pallet. That is working flawlessly.

@Orion and @Boss , Okay, it took me a minute to get what they were saying since it's mainly just shown in a chart that 6-8 emblem points is a Safety Pip. So, it's just a way of saying: You weren't good enough to Pip and not bad enough to Depip. I get it now.

It says that you get 0 pips, and then says that it's a "safety pip".

  • @Kilmeran said:
@Boss , I choose you, since you were the most recent post. :p

I'm new to DBD. What is a Safety Pip? The Gamepedia Wiki is less than useful about it.

In the "Rank" article, look under "Pip Conditions". The wiki has just about every useful piece of information there is, but you have to read the articles.

  • The Nurse is a near-perfect Killer from a design perspective. The outcomes of trials with her as the Killer depend almost completely on the skill of the players involved. You lost because, in all likelihood, your skill was inferior to that of the Nurse player.

Not fair. You cannot satisfy everyone. And the DBD community's thirst for whiny threads will never cease to exist. No matter what they do, the response will still be the same. Makes me respect them more, tbh.

OMG, how dare you? I'm gonna make a thread complaining about this!

ridiculous. how can they even name it an anti-cheat.... "easy", yes maybe the implementation work for the devs

They name it that because it detects cheats.

sometimes, yes, most of the times no :) also, "cheats" do not need to be 3rd party programs /software

So, like all anti-cheats, it's not perfect.

I don't drive a car without gas either.

+1. Stable and good Internet is a requirement for online gaming, just like any piece of hardware. If you don't have it, don't play games that require it.

Uh yeah actually no, I paid for the game so I get to play it, end of story.

My internet is very unstable since I live in germany which has basically 3rd world grade internet in some regions, it's not my fault (except ofc for voting for parties that chose to build our TV network with a higher priority than internet but nobody ever could've forseen that the internet would be this big 10 years later)

Everyone else also paid for the game, but they don't have a choice not to play with you in their lobbies. Survivors don't have the choice not to play with a teammate/against a Killer who might disconnect at any point for any reason, and neither do Killers.
You are purposefully making the game worse for everyone just because you can't take personal responsibility and play within your limits.

But I'm behind you 100% about people avoiding the rank they where put in, especially streamer that people always end up emulating because they are sheeps.

Easier to make "funny" compilations showing you always winning if you're playing against complete noobs.

  • @Lowbei said:
    absolutely.

your playstyle is perfectly fine, as you should play where you have the most fun.

for most of the vets who stay around rank1, the challenge is the fun, since of course it would be easier to farm bps at low rank, but i simply wouldnt enjoy it.

It's not even about farming, I just enjoy being able to relax while playing a game. I mean, that's why I play games.

  • I'm a casual by choice. I enjoy some challenge, but not the kind that forces me to be at 100% all the time or else I get smashed. That's why I stay away from high ranks.
I prefer to die a lot as Survivor because I'm not paying attention to my surroundings or lose chases because I didn't pay attention to blood stains than have to always be "on", if you know what I mean.
I simply find it more fun when I don't have to stay hyperfocused - maybe it's my ADD, I dunno.

If you find always having to play perfectly fun, that's fine, but don't say that "fun is ____" because it simply doesn't work that way; fun is subjective.

That confirmation doesn't really confirm Benedict is real. Only that the Entity didn't create the hatch and that the Entity may have a counterpoint.

A journalist can hardly make the hatch magically appear in front a survivor.

I didn't say he made the hatch, but someone had to have made it. Besides, the only reason we even know of these unseen characters is because of flavor text. Flavor text is for the players; not the characters. There's no reason why flavor text (intended for players) would be, lore-wise, an attempt by the Entity (a character) to trick the Survivors.

  • @RWoodrow said:
My theory is that the unseen characters like Benedict don't actually exist and were made up to inspire hope among the survivors.

They definitely exist. The devs have confirmed the hatch was not created by the Entity.

In my opinion more people need to judge things based on facts and evidence to back up points rather then just looking at something and claiming it's good or bad without looking into it at all.

That is the right way to do it, but it requires work. People are naturally intellectually lazy - our brains evolved that way.

  • @Tsulan said:
No, the devs tried to give a stun on the shoulder. This would be a stun during the chase.

Ah, my bad. I misunderstood what you meant.

In practice, how would this work? Activate the ability during a chase and the Killer is stunned?

  • @The_Fallen_Utopia said:
That's true. I've noticed people with similar names on different sites who don't actually like accepting the truth.. i don't get it really. Is it some poor attempt to hide what they are really interested in? Because it doesn't work.

It's all about fooling themselves, and hoping others are fooled as well, similarly to government proposals - most people do judge a book by its cover (or in this case, its name), unfortunately.

  • @The_Fallen_Utopia said:
Not sure why someone called the truth bothers talking about a subject like this still.

In my experience, those with names like "The Truth" are never interested in truth. It's all about appearances.

  • This is what the devs tried, remember? They concluded it'd only make SWF stronger.

As a killer, leaving the match with 3 kills and a bucket of survivor salt. 2 kills is quite poor and if you consider it to be a victory you need more practice (Orion)

Do you not know what >2 means? It means "greater than two".

Why do you think they ruin games?

At any time during the match, people can leave. If the killer is doing well and the survivor is like this is lost, they just leave, which ruins the game for the killer (which matters. they are a player in the video game).

Also if the survivor doesn't think the team they're on is good for whatever reason, can open the lock and ditch them, which is also not good.

Anything that ends the game prematurely is just bad game design. It abruptly halts the flow of the match in an un-fun way for a lot of the time.

The hatch only spawns when the number of repaired generators exceeds the number of Survivors still in the trial. This means that if the Killer is doing well - let's say two people dead - the Survivors would need to have repaired three generators.

  • @Doctor_Derek said:
can people stay on topic for once. yes killer has some stupid stuff. but the discussion is about the black lock keys.

    Can you answer my question?

  • It's a bug.

  • @SoulBagel said:
@Orion Actually no because the power didn't fully go out, just enough to turn off the PS4 and restart it.

Still, it's only 5 minutes. Go make yourself a sandwich, have a glass of water, bathroom break, whatever. 5 minutes is not that long if it's a one-time event.

This would just hurt solos again, since they can't organize their perks with each other. SWFs will just outrun it by planning who takes DS. U need to think about solo survivors mate

    Pre-game chat. Use it.

So u really want to make it for solos harder, just for the sake of beeing against survivors or what? That's trashtalk tho, not everyone is typing in chat, and not every one speaks English. But yeah, ur change would be just one more reason to leave solo beside and queue up as swf. Thank you.

No, I want Survivors to use the pre-game chat for something other than whining or telling others to "ready/shut the ######### up". It's a problem if they don't speak your language, though.

I don't drive a car without gas either.

While I would like to see people who rage quit often get punished, random DC's do happen. I was in a game the other day where 30 seconds in the killer found 3 of us, we scrambled and I got hit, ran into another survivor and used Dead Hard to avoid the next hit, and then the power went out for a second (someone took out a power pole near my house). To the other players it looked like I rage quit (Which I have never nor will never DC because "its no fair").

Takes more than 5 minutes to restore power from a missing power pole. You wouldn't even notice it.

The flaw is that Bloodlust was created to shorten chases. It wasn't created to help Killers patrol the map. Another flaw is that Killers could abuse this to get hits on Survivors.

Abuse? How can it be abused?

It was created to shorten the chase and it worked as intended (before patch at least) Now a lot of pallet are safe even in BL 3

If it only activated outside a chase, as the OP was suggesting, you could just chase Survivors without actually triggering the chase conditions and hit them without losing speed.

The entity probably just makes them never hungry. He allows survivors to survive long falls and getting impailed by a 2 cm hook so I think it makes sure they don't die by hunger.

I agree, but I wonder how as well. It the entity actively altering reality? Does this dimension remove the need for sustainence? Are they dead and in some limbo? Or does it have something to do with the he fact that time works different in the entities realm, and time doesn’t truly pass by?

And if the survivors were to escape SOMEHOW, would the go back tot heir place and time or some random place and time?

Benedict does imply that they're dead. In one of his journals, he says something like "Whoever finds my body (...)".

  • @AnotherRandy said:
Yeah but what about someone who takes all 4 perk slots as hex ?
But the idea is good, hex totems get destroyed way to fast and by replacing them it doesn't hurt as much as now.

However, what is ur opinion about my DS nerf idea?

First one to get destroyed is replaced.
I think your fifth perk slot idea is bad, if the perk is to stay as it is. It's so powerful (prolongs a chase by 50%) that it needs an equally powerful drawback. Just making it so non-obsessions don't get anything from it is enough.

  • @AnotherRandy said:
    What do you exactly mean?

5 perk slots so that when the Hex perk is gone, it gets replaced with something different.

  • Could we get the same change for Hex perks?
