Having almost 700 hours, I have barely encounter any lagswitchers.
I have, however, encountered PLENTY of survivors who DC the second they get caught, the second they get hooked, the second their DS miss, the second they realize that they might lose their flashlight..
I've also met killers who DC if they bump into a wall with Leatherface's chainsaw, when they get slammed with a pallet, if a chase take longer than 30 seconds, they get DS'd..Punishment for DC'ing needs to happen.
Punishing people for using the in-game feature wait for it, that the DEVELOPERS provided! Just think about that and how ridiculous it sounds.
Punishing people for misusing the in-game feature sounds fine to me.

I simply used an example that no thinking person would disagree with for the sake of clarity. Since you didn't get it, I'll give you more relatable examples.
- I'm stuck in terrain, no way to get out. DCing is fine.
- I can't interact with anything and nobody can interact with me. DCing is fine.
- I'm playing against a hacker. DCing is fine.
That's off the top of my head.

I know. I was just pointing out how stating that it is always wrong to disconnect is absurd.

Seems fair to me , if they can block the killer than the killer should be able to do the same, report him for the dc if you’re on a computer or just move on.You don't need to report for DC, bans are handled automatically.

Some people are just like that. All you can do is refuse to give them what they want and report them. A report a day helps purge the cancer away.
-
Unfortunately, all you can do is wait and then report the Survivor for holding the game hostage. Make sure to have video proof. Whatever you do, do not disconnect.
-
That's what you did in the last game before you were banned. What did you do previously that got you the ban? And don't say "nothing" because you think you were somehow justified in breaking the rules.
-
The frequency of rank resets should be inversely proportional to the difficulty in ranking up, regardless of rewards, for the sake of matchmaking.
-
Yes, there should be a casual mode, but since there isn't, the ban was well deserved.

The killer is the one who wasn't doing anything. Exactly. A crap player. You think this was sound gameplay strategy. I say saves because that's what it was. Saves. Just because he tunneled doesn't mean he caught them every time. Which he didn't. So we were not feeding him. Second, what broken mechanic was abused? And I did win. I escaped. I made more points than he did. And I made him waste 45 minutes with no pay off.
Chasing the weaker target is definitely a sound strategy. And if he really was camping 100% of the time as you claim, then you couldn't have saved anyone - he would've been right there and hit them again.
Conclusion: You are lying.I'm going to assume you are new to this game if you seriously thinking its impossible to save someone from a camping killer. Borrowed time ring any bells?
I'm lying? Ignorance thy name is Orion. What would I have to gain by lying about this? It will still be the truth whether you believe it or not.
So you fed him by giving him an incentive to camp. He knew you'd come for the rescue, so he stuck around, and you played exactly like he expected.
Your team played poorly and lost. That's the truth.
What you have to gain, among other things, is a justification for yourself to play in a way you yourself believe is scummy, namely by forcing the hatch standoff.
Nobody gave him any incentive to camp. He was doing that all by himself from the get-go with ruin and 5 gens still standing. Always a sure sign of a crap killer.
Our team played well. And in the end he came out with less points, and 45 minutes wasted for nothing. The delicious salty message he sent me after made me feel even better.
I didn't force any hatch stand off. He had 3k already under his belt. Nobody put a gun to his head and forced him to be such a try hard that he was willing to wait 45 minutes to try and get a 4k, any more than nobody forced him to camp on his first hook when 5 gens were still standing, as well as his ruin.
In the end it didn't even pay off for him. If anything he fed me with all the hook saves, pallet stuns, and gens I managed to get done, as well as that hatch escape in the end. Whereas he walks away look like an idiot who wasted three quarters of an hour on nothing, and didn't even have the blood points to console him for all that wasted time.
That's the real truth.
You rescued while he was still there. That's incentive. Your team played poorly. You forced a hatch standoff by not repairing a generator and outsmarting him.
Someone can't be both a "try hard" and a "crap killer". Your clear cognitive dissonance is proof that you're just looking to justify your actions to yourself, and that bias is blinding you to the truth. -
My stream name on Twitch is not Orion, but it is on YouTube (Orion Invictus).
I've been playing 50/50 when I stream DbD, except when the Spirit came out, for obvious reasons. However, I haven't been streaming much lately. -

I had a 45 minute hatch stand off once. Ordinarily I wouldn't waste that much time and I would just let the killer kill me. But this killer camped and tunneled from the get-go when 5 gens were still standing as was ruin, so I wasn't letting him get a 4k.Sounds like the Killer played effectively by chasing the weaker links. It also sounds like your team was bad, if they lost to a Killer who did nothing for long periods of time. GJ punishing the Killer for your team being bad.
They didn't do nothing for long periods of time. 4 gens got done, several saves were made, ruin and devour hope got taken out, chases were done, and in the end the "effective killer" as you call him came out with less points than me even though he got 3 kills through camping and tunneling.
I bet he was just having so much fun standing there watching the hook for long periods of time, too. That just screams fun gameplay strategy.
The Killer is the one who wasn't doing anything. By the second hook, all generators should've been repaired.
You say "saves", I say "feeding". You say "tunneling", I say "chasing the weaker target".
Your team played poorly and decided to knowingly abuse a broken mechanic because you still felt entitled to winning. -
I'm sure a lot of Killers will start taking advantage of your selfishness, OP.

This proves what I said before: unhooking needs to be an all-in interaction. If you start it, you can't stop it, period. It'll stop Survivors trolling each other like this. I'm already on the hook, I don't need your trolling to go with it, and I certainly don't need Devour Hope to get a billion tokens.

When the next Super Blue Blood Moon falls on a Wednesday, when the Steam servers go offline for maintenance, there will be a brief moment during which this perk will be available in the Shrine of Secrets.

What's your opinion of a FNaF/Robot killer?EDIT: It doesn't have to be FNaF, I just put that there because it seemed like they would group in with the "robot" category.
No. Don't even start talking or mentioning FnaF. Robot killers would be impossible to balance since robots are basically better humans and they should be twice as good as a survivor...now imagine a thing like that being boosted by the entity
I mean, twice as good as a Survivor means it'd be as good as 2 Survivors.
Shouldn't a Killer always be better in at least a 1v1? ;PBut are they? Nope xD That's why every survivor would cry and make the community even more split and cancerous.
But they should be, and a Killer representing what should be would be a great start.
Yes. And every sane player thinks like that. Too bad most of the survivor mains don't think like that and start moaning when a strong killer is introduced into the game.
I can see where your coming from. Strong killers are a touchy subject among survivors (for obvious reasons), but most survivors should HOPEFULLY agree that 1 survivor should be weaker than the killer. If they don't agree to that, then they have no right to help balance this game.
There's an idea going around for a while now that DS should just stun the Killer, but not free you from their grip.
While the Killer's stunned, they wouldn't be able to walk or move their camera, and they'd be susceptible to being blinded while in this animation, successfully freeing the grabbed Survivor.
It could also be used to stop the Killer at a pallet, so an other Survivor has enough time to pull it down. While i'm uncertain if this idea would be "the ideal solution to make literally everyone happy", my point is that, what it would do, is reinforce the idea that you'd need some help to overcome the Killer's advantages over you.
Is there still an obsession mechanic to this? If so, what would be the difference between using as the obsession vs. using it as not as obsession?
Longer stun time for Obsessions i'd wager, to give Flashlight people more time.
They tried that and concluded it'd make SWF even more powerful.
Am I the only one who doesn't find FNaF funny or scary? TBH the robots look like something out of a child's drawing, just "creepy" dolls with big teeth.

Well acutally I have several suggestions:
1. Don't affect survivor's camera while in chase mode
OR
2. Move turning survivor's camera feature to addons- Expect the trap and prepare beforehand.
-
It's irrelevant, and I doubt the devs have given it any thought. Just pretend they're the same orientation you are, whatever that is.
-
All lore, and quite fun.
-
The devs did say that the Entity is drawn to strong emotions and that the Hag's desire for rescue/protection was strong enough to draw the Entity to her. The magic might've just been a coincidence.
-
@Lyxfex said:
Well The devs point out that theirs is cultist that worship the entity. And since the entity do have writing that we need to decipher.Maybe her symbol is a letter in the alphabet of the entity. And that specific letter can summons her power. It just that the hag is from a line were her grand-father or further in the past was a cultist to the entity.
Everyone keeps saying we have to decipher it, but when I created a Steam group with that intent and advertised it, nobody joined.
-
They skipped over my question. I feel sad.
-
Do you have several million to spare so the devs can purchase the rights to use her in the game?
-
If you read the wiki properly, you'll see it only says that the entries might be from Benedict's journal.
-
If it works like on PC, you only need a minimum of two people (one Killer and one Survivor) to play KYF, so yes.

DS is OP, and this comes from someone mainly playing survivor. One DS can literally stand in the way of a killer winning the game or losing.NOED is the same. A killer can go from a definite 0k to a 4k.
Both perks suck in my opinion. You can't counter both of them effectively. You can't just open an exit gate and leave most of the time with NOED, you can also not just 'deal' with the stun from DS a lot of times, without it ruining your game.
NOED can be broken before it even gets activated so I don't have a clue how you would not call that a counter, most survivors know the totem placements and it's not like they're hidden.
How many killers actually run NOED? How is it fair that survivors have to prepare for a perk every single game, regardless of whether the killer is using it or not?
Because Survivors are the weaker role. They should have to adapt to the Killers' loadout; not the other way around.
I have decided to ignore you. No offence, but from your forum posts you seem like an unreasonable killer main, that doesn't really care about fair play to survivors. Which is okay you know, but I am not engaging in a discussion with you.
You're wrong, but that's fine. I don't see why you think it's unreasonable to expect each individual member of the weak side to have to adapt to the strong side's loadout, but if you think it is, you don't know asymmetrical games.

Quick question about Sloppy Butcher after this change : Will the formula for calculating healing speed with Self Care be :- 16+4=20x2=40
or - 16x2=32+4=36
That has to do with how the perk is programmed to work, and I don't know how it works.
Now, personally, I'd have all buffs and nerfs be additive in their percentages (i.e.: add up all the percentages) because it's more intuitive, and apply only the final result of that sum.
Assuming it works like that (I have no proof that's how it works) and taking into consideration the following:
- Healing speed is measured in charges per second (c/s).
- Healing will take 16 charges after the changes.
- Survivors heal at 1 c/s.
- Self Care works at 50% of the speed; i.e., it reduces the healing speed by 50%.
- Mangled will reduce the speed by 20% after the changes.
Then Survivors will be healing with a 70% speed reduction, meaning they will be healing at 30% speed, so it will take 53.333... seconds (16/0.3) to heal fully with Self Care while suffering from the Mangled status effect.
- 16+4=20x2=40
-
If anyone has any questions, see me after class.

Seeing people fail to understand what a 50% speed reduction means regarding time spent performing an activity is amusing to me as a physicist. Can you explain it to them please? No joke.
I usually ignore your comments, but I'll make an exception this time, because this is equal parts amusing and irritating.
Simply put, if you are moving at half the speed as someone else (50%), it takes you twice as long to get from A to B.
Let me give you an example. If I'm moving at 100 km/h and I need to travel 100 km, it will take me 1 hour. If you are moving at 50 km/h (50% of my speed), it will take you 1 hour to move 50 km, and thus 2 hours to move 100 km.

I understand that, but to allow hacking on an Xbox, you have to directly tamper with the console. You can’t just download modded saves anymore like you could on 360. It is very difficult to hack using Xbox one. I would have seen a hacker by now my account is 13 years old and the first and only time I saw a hacker was in 2013 just before the Xbox One came out.You overestimate the number of hackers and the amount of work people are willing to put in to hacking consoles when PC has more known vulnerabilities.
I still remember when people were sucking Apple's dick because "you can't get a virus on Mac". The fact is, they simply hadn't been created yet because people who did that sort of thing didn't consider it worth their time. It's the same on console - while it's definitely possible to hack consoles, and people have done so in the past and will continue to do so in the future, many don't consider it worth their time. Even taking into account the thrill they get from doing it, PC is simply more convenient for daily usage, not to mention the obvious hardware superiority. -

Also, you do understand that hacking is not a hardware thing, right? Lastly, all software has vulnerabilities, because programmers make mistakes. Whoever says that their software/hardware/whatever is uncrackable will probably also try to sell you a spear that can pierce any shield and a shield that can withstand any spear.
