I love the mysteries of the journal entries, the authors of them and how we have the opportunity to speculate who and what the entity looks like.

A very long time ago the Devs released a link to the song from which they drew their inspiration for the Entity. You still only see the "spider" esq legs but the lyrics give more insight to its appearance.

P.S: TBH KILLERS who camp/hard patrol should get a slower entity's progression on the survivor's HP

I just played a 3 person match against a camping clown. He hooked someone, faced camped them while myself and a random did 4 gens and an exit gate. Camping is easily countered.

  • They should increase the totem size by 250% and set them truly ablaze. It won't make them any different to find but might just save you a few more seconds while the survivors stare in amazement.

I like going against 4 man swf that all dress the same especially Pizza Dwights. Sadly i have yet to have the privilege to mori shirtless Davids. I am an optimist so fingers crossed!

Instead of strangling a shirtless David the Nurse just puts a finger to his lips, whispers "shhh" and slowly rubs his chest. It was a great Mori change.

Hey guys, I made an idea for a chest perk for killers to make survivors have a harder time surviving when they’re alone. LMAO it kind of sucks but whatevs For Fun:

Your tricks make the survivors scavenging for supplies difficult.

Searching is 50/60/70% slower and is 5/10/15% louder.

When finishing the full search, there is a 50/75/100% percent chance that no item will show up.

“It’s like how the magician makes someone disappear, but it’s not what you want that should disappear.”

    Hope yall like it xoxo

I wouldn’t call this OP per se, but literally making chests worth nothing is just... bleh.

Unless you are running Plunder its rare to go for a chest. This perk is 100% useless unless you are simply going for a gimmick build. Please don't take this as me being "mean" I'm simply pointing out that as the original poster stated its for fun. I think we need more gimmick perks that have some fun synergy with one another. :)

I respect you in full. I really do. But outside of the game and within the community, it’s really hard to respect Killers when left, right and center there are posts of them being so needlessly insulting towards anyone who doesn’t play Killer primarily.

If you think a lot of Survivors are whiny salt mines, that’s fine. Even P3 Squadettes have mountains of evidence archived somewhere in favor of that statement. But it doesn’t help anybody when Killer mains choose to hate ALL Survivors, branding them as “entitled” and being more holier-than-thou than a Reddit atheist.

Not all Survivor mains are entitled, whiny brats. Far from it. There are plenty of Survivor mains in full support of Killer buffs and Surv nerfs. I myself have an in-game honor code listing Perks and tactics that I simply refuse to utilize out of respect and empathy for the Killer and yet I’ll still get hate for playing as Jake.

It’s infuriating when you try to be the solution and people brand you as the problem.

Even if we play different teams, we’re still one community. I refuse to hate Killer mains outright for playing Killer. I see a lot of the toxicity I mentioned above, but I refuse to brand all Killers as that. I’m return, please don’t brand me as that purple flashlight SB DS P3 Squadette from that one match. Because what’s the point in trying not be the thing people hate when they treat as it anyway?

I'd classify myself as a "Killer main" (play both, just killer more frequently) and I don't hate you. I get annoyed when facing "toxic" players be they either side, but you paid for the same game I did and you have a right to play the game as you wish within the available mechanics.

TLDR: I love you all. ;)

Seriously guys, we need to stop this, because we all love the game so why are we always fighting ?
-Yes, SWF can be op but it's not the fault of the players, but the way the game was made
-Yes, Camping is annoying but it's the easiest way to do kills, if the game was totally balanced, camping wouldn't exist
-No, insulting someone at the end of a game or in his steam profile is not ok, particularly if it's just like "ez baby killer" or "without SWF you are #########", this is literally harassement.
I never had so much insults on my steam profile since I have DBD.
We should all do peace guys, and it's not because a famous player is doing one of those thing that you should do it too, the community is a real problem, not since the release of the game, but since streamers and youtubers started to play cancer, most people play like them because they do not think by themself, this need to stop.

By the way I'm not a native english speaker so please don't mind mistakes, I have 1k hours on DBD and I play both survivors and killers equally

Buckle up my friend its time we did something drastic! It's time we...DELETED THE INTERNET!

    Bloodpoints for survivors suck.

Most games you, as a survivor, are there for the whole length of the match. The points should equate to that. Killers shouldn't be making higher amounts of points, simply because it is 4 vs 1.

I have no problem with making survivor harder. However you need to balance that difficulty with more bloodpoints to make it enjoyable to play survivor.

All I can see now is with the upcoming patch, is more people switching to killer, since it will be more fun and also because you earn bloodpoints way easier.

Sometimes as survivor, you jump into a match, play a few minutes, die.. then move onto the next match. But if you are staying the length of the match, you should be earning more bloodpoints, enough that makes it worth while. Survivors should be earning as much as killers if they are staying that long in the match. It isn't always as simple as, you need to do more to get points. There is only so much you can do depending on the speed of the match.

I've been playing this game for over 2 years. The point gains for survivor suck really bad. It makes it so you don't want to play survivor, just for that reason alone. So if you are going to balance them out a bit to killers, then you need to increase their bloodpoints so it isn't just another reason not to play survivor.

I hate playing survivor matches... spending 20 minutes and walking out with 15K or lower. The next patch is going to lower survivors gains simply because more will die off quicker. In turn that is going to make people switch over to killer or just quit the game.

My suggestion would be to lower the amount for escaping and spread those points out over everything else that is earned during the match. Chases should earn you more points, since they will get harder as more patches come out. Being chase and breaking the chase as a survivor should earn big points. Escaping shouldn't be where survivors earn the bulk of their points.

TLDR; I can consistently play killer and get close to 25K or more, with ease. As a survivor it can be a struggle to get up to 20K, for the same amount of time invested.

One of the main reason Killers make more bloodpoints is because of how the "economy" currently works. Survivors can get items and add-ons within the match that they can bring out. Killers don't have that option and are forced to spend in a rng web to try and find what they need. If Killers didn't make more points it would be even more nightmarish to find anything good in the web.

I don't why people say they don't feel scared anymore,

It does scare me most of the times, like whenever I hear a chainsaw revving up, or when a killer like myers or pig catches me off guard, and especially when I'm the last guy remaining, which happens most of the times with me since I hardly go SWF. So yeah, I love this game and it does give me a heart-attack sometimes.

After playing a game for at least 20 hours and understanding how the game mechanics work I can't see how anyone would be scared. It's more so players become desensitized to the game. For example the first time I've played Dead Space that game made me jump a lot and I was nervous to go around a corner as I didn't know what was going to happen. By the time I'd gotten to my 50th playthrough of the game I pretty much knew every possible scenario that would happen.

Only the cheap scares are scary to me now. Jump scare Myers, Hag, and Pig really. People always whine about how the game isn't scary for survivors anymore, but they can't seem to recall a scary movie that remained scary after watching it for thousands of hours in a row. 🙄

If there's a horror game that is still fresh after the hundredth play through, I'm sure it'd eclipse DBD by now.

It doesn't matter how many times you watch the Star Wars Christmas special it will always remain scary.

This is a part of Kate's bio,

She picked up her guitar and played, her fingers dancing across the fretboard. The music that she made this time was unlike her usual uplifting tunes, being much more melancholy, even dark. Still, something compelled her to continue, to finish the song.
Does this mean that the Entity possessed Kate in order to summon it? After she finished the song, she clearly snapped out of it because when the Entity tried to grab her she fought back. This also makes me wonder if the other survivors fought back as well.

If you heard her scream during the PTB I would say without a doubt she was possessed. Nothing natural can scream like that.

It's better for low ranks or beginners, the best thing is if you have to leave a gen when the killer chases you and it sometimes prevents that wack skill check fail that you can't do.

It can work on mid-high rank killers sometimes as its so incredibly rare to see no one suspects it. I had a match as Hag where someone had brought a flashlight into the match but was very good at finding my traps. Turns out she had a surprise Small Game. Wasn't expecting that haha.

So I let go of crouch for a second and BAM!   Hag trap at the pallet. I literally chucked my mouse.  Best jump scare so far in the game.

Truly the best moments in this game.

Though the game has it's problems, I love the experience. Playing as a solo survivor keeps things intense and challenging for the most part, and I love all the options to adjust perks, items, and add-ons. The variety of killers to go up against keeps things interesting as well. As a killer, I love how different they play. They're all unique and I love the original designs they came up with for both survivors and killers. I also like the lore they put into the game. It's nothing masterful, but it adds more of an interesting atmosphere to the game. And I love those games that feel like they're a challenge, but not hopeless to one side or the other. Where both the survivors and the killers are giving each other a run for their money.

I'd love to see some cool comics or movie shorts for all the killers. I think it could be a fun little project for someone far more talented than I to do. :)

  • My favorite horrible movie was the Star Wars Christmas special. The Ewok was my favori- oh! sorry you said horror movie....

That's the point if you cannot tell - it's the long hair cosmetic clipping through her head. Also there's another minor one with the skirt and tie-up front, over her left buttock is some clipping. It becomes more obvious as she shifts in idle. Definitely puts me off purchasing any of those cosmetics, I just despise clipping so much.

He's right @Shelby it's her long hair customization that clips through her head. The hair that's apart of the "Geek Chic" set. Thanks for the feedback! :)

That’s like being in a toxic relationship for the same amount of time and saying oh it’ll change. Sorry but if you enjoy playing a different game go play it.

i get it some people may say oh he’ll lose viewers guess what? Oh well I mean is it really worth his sanity?! To me his loyalists will follow him no matter what. But also these streamers need to remember if you keep giving a game attention others will be drawn to it. So in the end DBD is still getting a huge playerbase regardless of it being unbalanced

He does play other games but he blew up with subscribers during DBD so I'd assume you don't want to jump ship on something that people pay to watch you play. YouTube/streaming is his job after all, fun starts to mean a little less when paying your bills is on the line.

Yup. I'm sure a lot of Killers who now play survivor or different games are not around enough to rank up. Between work and life I maybe get in a match or two a day. The same thing applies when using both charge addons on huntress's hatchets (as an exmaple). You don't need tinkerer with those addons, as it really only applies a half second difference.

Not only is that still slower, you can't afford to always run Tuning Guide + Primer Bulb or you're running out extremely quickly.

Besides, they said they want to get rid of add-on dependency. His other add-ons aren't even bad for the most part, but they aren't viable because his power is watered down and he needs rev speed add-ons to even have a power at all.

They need to adjust Killer economy. Sucks to spend so many points for a chance at decent add-ons that vanish after the match. Survivors can do "item runs" to replenish items and save BP.
"But MegaWaffle killers get more BP per match!"
Yes generally they do but thanks to large expensive rng webs this still results in a net loss in most cases. Its honestly nothing major but nothing ruins your fun more then spending waaay too much time trying for that add-on only to get a game were people DCed... :(

So let’s say that you are being facecamped by Leatherface’s chainsaw or you are the last one left for dead. If you manage to pull of a 4% unhook, do you guys think that if you have the perk borrowed time it should affect your character if you unhook yourself? It would counter the facecamping Leatherface’s and give yourself a chance of escape if you are the last one left. Wouldn’t be a common occurence however since it is only a 4% chance.

You were hooked by the killer, who most certainly worked hard, why should the fact that you got a 4%, essentially ruining his work of hooking you, also give you a "free hit" perk? It seems unfair that 4% even exist let alone to add a perk effect to it. I know people will most likely argue that 4% is rare but with how many killer games I use to play I've had way more then feels right. It doesn't make sense that along with DS that can negate all your chase of that person that that same survivor can then potentially save themselves.

I don't believe 4% should exist but its something we have to deal with anyway.

Seriously? It is a FOUR PERCENT. You HAVE to have some way of survival if your teammates are idiots. Why are you complaining about something that rarely happens in the first place? I was only suggesting for the possibility of insidious killers or Leatherfaces who rev up their chainsaw and face-camp. It’s not a game breaking suggestion. It is super rare to kobe without offerings anyways, it’s infurating to get yourself off the hook and just be knocked back down again.

Just an idea.  Looking for feedback, not toxicity.

What about allowing perks based on ranks?  The better rank the higher level perks you can use.

Rank 1 to 5 you can use any perks that you own.

Rank 6 to 10 purple color teachables (for that character)  and any green perks.

Rank 11 to 15 green color teachables (for that character) and any yellow  perks

Rank 15 to 20 yellow color perks only.

When I say teachables I am referring to that character specific, so if I want SB and SC  I would at least have to get to rank 15 and then even then one would have to be yellow.

Would something like this get you to rank up? or would people just stay with lower perks?

(if I didn't explain myself well, let me know that as well.  Writing this up on my phone while I do a Continuing Education course on my computer)

The game isn't balanced for a ranking system and people already rage quit when the game isn't going there way. If you add a reason to rank you simply breed more "tryhard toxic" behavior with more rage quits and toxic de-pip squads. I think rank should be removed!

  • @RemoveSWF said:
    Obviously.

Try playing at Rank 1 where everybody uses it. A free escape can add minutes to a chase if it allows them to get to the next loop. Multiply that by four survivors.

Nothing like picking up that last survivor who isn't the obsession only to find out "hey i have a free escape button, Oh and now I got the hatch"...yeah real fun.

    The problem isn't SWF...
The problem is people having temper tantrums as soon as the game (on either side) isn't turning out in THEIR favor. People don't seem to play to learn new strategies or to further improve their skill level... Its either "I come out on top or ill ruin it for everyone". Ever been to a kids bday party and there's always that one kid there who just can't fathom that its not all about him? The people who DC are those same kids.

I agree with what you said however I do believe that what SWF has become, (again I know this isn't all SWF groups) with the amount of abuse that can come from it is something people have just grown weary of. I personalty don't quit (I'll admit when I cared for rank way back in the day I was a dipshit) since I'm just here for fun but if you are playing the game to have a good time and you know your not some people just quit in frustration/slight depression.
Its not always about getting your way but just general frustration.

If you wanna compare tbagging and clicking to sth, then this would smacking a guy on the hook or mori canceling someone

Getting the killer tilted is a valid strategy. I'd happily suck away attention from my teammates so they can finish gens or escape. Killers complain anyway because it takes away the enjoyment from their game.

Tbagging at the end of the game next to the exit gates is BM. Slapping the last survivor dying on the hook is BM.

By this logic then so is camping. Getting a SWF team tilted and having them come to the hook is a valid tactic.

He'll either dying light you or is going to use you to get play with your food stacks. This killer changes the game in a huge way he doesn't play like any other killer when playing these builds. Stealth against myers is essential. His terror radius will probably be small as well so your eyes will be key to preventing him from tiering up. He needs almost 3 full ew worth of survivor to pull this off it takes a long ass time and will not work if survivors lose him and play stealthy and stay aware.

Your also not likely to pip its a meme build and you will most likely depip since your getting mori's and kills and not any hits or hooks

If it happened within the last 20 mins yeah that was you. I was so confused with what was going on. Then I saw you creeping out of the corner of the map when I was trying to get the door. I was trying to do the Myers' achievement to kill everyone with the tombstone but the problem was the gens got completed fast. I did hook two survivors to bait people in but they just killed themselves on the hook and one left through the trapdoor with a key. I got to the trapdoor before the other survivor but we were at you guessed it...a standoff. I thought "#########, he is gonna get this hatch..." Till i remembered my tombstone i never used in the match and had my evil bar over half way done. I proceeded to stalk the juices out of him and got my evil 3 but he was thinking i still had no chance of killing him since he was over the hatch...but what happened after made me prepare a nice plate of french fries right next to me....

I grabbed him and killed him with the tombstone...and to rub salt in the wound, The animation threw him at the trapdoor making the ultimate disrespect.

After that...well the lobby was filled with the nastiest salt i've ever succumbed too. I felt so much in awe with such a salty play even though i didn't get my achievement there, i got it a day after.

I had fun doing the Myers achievement because I found the hatch at the end and the last survivor must not have realized how that ability works and attempted a hatch standoff. I played around for a few moments then laughed as I picked her up and let my knife show her the folly of her ways.

It is way more scarier and tense to play killer than survivor.

Fail as a game no but it does fail as a competitive game. It isn't balanced to have a ranking system and should remove it entirely.
But no I do not believe its a bad game just poorly balanced atm.

If the devs would play their own game consistently on high ranks vs SWF, the game would be balanced.

Remember that match Matthew (Dev) played hag vs a Korean SWF team. They danced around him, t-bagged/blinded/D-strike his ass from start to finish. He even remarked "that was not a fun experience". This was a long time ago and still not much has changed. SWF is a huge problem because it give so much more power vs fighting solo survivors. i also believe rank should simply be removed if it cannot be measured/balanced accordingly.

  • My best moment was a Wraith I was up against. He found me very early on and a chase took place. I was lagging all over the place and I can tell he had troubles hitting me for this reason.
I then slowly walk to him and we spent a few moments staring at one another before he casually walked away. Because I was playing with a full SWF group and we were originally just messing around, I sold them all out as the Wraith hunted them down. He didn't kill anyone until the very end but we all had some laughs.
I was playing Nea at the time so this just added to the fun.
After the match I sent a gg and made some joke about what transpired and that Wraith player has been on my friends list ever since.

  • Its not hard to find someone hiding in the dark if you are looking around. Especially if you suspect they are. I play on PS4 and cannot change settings so it really doesn't matter.

  • It affects anything with the ability to see auras be they perks, items or add-ons. With that said it probably won't affect the new changes as nothing works as intended when released. :p

  • Damn I bought my girlfriend a 3k diamond and got to second base at least. Sorry for your troubles mate.

  • I've always called him "Billy". Nothing scares me more then hearing Billy fire up his gas powered whily.

  • Less salt more carrots. Good eyesight is important!

Does anybody else really and I mean REALLY hate certain survivors? I've grown a strong hatred for Quentin and Laurie since whenever I'm the killer, they're basically almost unkillable and cocky.. until said cockiness gets them killed. And their yells are kinda too high-piched through a headset

I kill with kindness not hate.
