Most people who pull this sort of data are more interested in perk/add on effects on various movements. It might be hard to find anything to do with chainsaw travel as specific as you want it. But good luck, maybe you can go buy a chainsaw yourself and do some real world test. Let me know if you do as I would love to hear the results.

let me first start out by saying i don't care about your little troll posts like git gud etc. people like you are children and should just carry a portable noose around. anyways here we go :chuffed:these nerfs and reworks are just terrible and it all started when you introduced "the victory cube" for me anyway. when you were trying to change the way killers ranked up. that was a terrible idea by the way. this new emblem system is also terrible and didnt need to happen. it's seriously insanely simple to balance the ranking system. it used to be based on bloodpoint value endgame which determined if you pipped right? so if it was too easy or too hard to pip change the required bp values to pip or depip and find the sweeet spot. fixing that problem was that simple but you just ruined it with AMAZING ideas. go back to the bloodpoint pipping system. the emblems dont mean anything.......we don't collect them or gain anything from them. why make the system?
you introduce with new dlcs/perks etc all the time then shortly thereafter nerf them to hell. then when we complain you say you plan on "reworking" all this stuff you just nerfed to hell and made useless. ironically im pretty sure the clown is the only dlc killer to be immediately buffed instead of nerfed lol.
what you're doing right now with killers isn't too great either. the tinker perk idea is fine but the other perks revealing auras isn't. this is a hide and seek game. bbq and chili is barely acceptable. as a matter of fact bbq shouldnt be acceptable but if it were taken away alot of killers would quit and now we are back to the subject of giving us nice things then nerfing them to hell after we buy them. bbq was nerfed after release too. instead of giving killers more aura reading abilities you need to just flat out fix the sound in your game. you've broken the sounds from the killers perspective a million times over in almost all of your patches. you've broken survivor terror radius stuff yada yada yada. do u guys test before you release? seriously some of these broken things ARE IMMEDIATELY NOTICEABLE. if the sound wasn't so terrible in this game killers wouldn't need bbq or whispers. stridor would be meta of course but still.
killer exploits are never fixed unless its an every match sort of thing. survivor exploits are patched asap. why? because this game needs killers in order to stay alive
the self care nerf is terrible. if i lose the killer.......thats his fault and i should be able to heal myself. i've earned it. make self caring sounds louder if its such an issue. this whole resetting the heal is garbage. just remove the perk if you're going to do that. stop acting like self care is overpowered because a ton of people use comms on this game so we can either call out where we are or run bond and find someone. running bond and finding someone is almost more beneficial than actually self caring if u find someone near you fast enough. if you want to change self care. nerf it to 40 percent and see how it goes and adjust from there. stop REWORKING things that are based on a percentage/value based system. that's not the proper way of doing things.
the decisive strike nerf. terrible idea. here are some good idea. run enduring. make gens take longer. decisive strike isn't a survival perk it's a time wasting perk towards the killer. any killer who isnt a [BAD WORD] is going to follow your scratch marks after you dstrike and down you again unless you're running iron will and someone juke him in a nearby jungle gym etc. you can also make the d strike stun shorter. these ideas are better than the current rework that doesnt need to happen.
exhaustion ideas. almost a good idea but if im not in a chase my exhaustion should cooldown if im running. while in a chase and running...fine......i understand the no cooldown but if im outside of a chase and running around you shouldnt be holding my exhaustion cooldown against me. you're just being a dick now. also this idea is pretty terrible with your new random ass pallet spawning system. i can load gas heaven once and pallets will be here and the nexts they're there. amazing idea while nerfing exhaustion. thats 2 kicks in my ass. thanks.
how to counter pallet looping. you did one thing right you removed the double pallets from areas. that was good. now instead of removing a ton of pallets in spots like u did with the last patch.......you should just have either made the looping spots a shorter distance so the killer could take advantage of bloodlust better or just make bloodlust occur faster so they can catch up faster. or we could make it so breaking a pallet only drops you to bloodlust 1 until you lose the chase. so many ideas to choose but you choose an idea that gives killers an ez win.
pallet vacuum system rework. if i reach a pallet i should be able to suck myself through. not like the old system that vaccum was bigger. you didnt need to be touching the pallet with the old system you could be a few meters away and it would still vacuum you. now i cant even reach the pallet and slam it down i have to run halfway through it........or more depending how shittily the game is acting. secondly what is this ######### "twirly ballerina barbie" bullshit survivors now do when dropping a pallet..........but if im just standing there........? why?! why do they do that? it slows the pallet drop down which screws people over constantly while just standing there dropping a pallet or if theyre running through it. the amount of downs that happen because of it are bullshit. also with the killer vacuum nerf if survivors get downed on a pallet the killer should NEVER pick them up lol. congrats devs you created a stalemate.......and played yourselves.
im not going to go into killer very much because i quit putting alot of time into it after the victory cube was released. it wasnt fun anymore and these new changed aren't making it fun either due to the way you're pussifying survivors as well. i played the ptb. nothing is fun about killer anymore
go back to the patch before the killer victory cube and just try again man. adjust values on everything instead of reworking stuff by coming up with these new ideas nobody wants. you're changing a game everyone fell in love with and you're basing it on rank 20 gameplay and 13 year olds who don't know their head from their own ass. children are literally the reason why no good video games are made anymore/have a decent lifespan. look at all these mobile games or these copy and paste game or the sequels every year that are weak. stop catering to these noobs.....seriously.
i have 1.4k hours in this game so i have a pretty decent view to go off of. 1/3 or so of that is killer gameplay........but you ruined that for me so......i dont care.
As of right now i'm uninstalling this game. i've bought all of your dlcs and have spent money on your new in game currency as well. i've technically gotten my 20 dollars worth but that isn't the point. you just keep reworking things......breaking things......fixing things that break other things.......it's just a huge joke honestly. you hardly ever give a straight answer when you do your q&a's etc on twitch or youtube. you just step around the answer or say you have plans. you are seriously the nascar drivers of video game developers. i can't believe matthieu cote or however you spell it wasn't fired when he told everyone to play the other role in their game or to play civ 6 while people tuning into their stream were telling them their game was broken. when a community complains about everything you're doing wrong AND its the majority of the community you don't tell them to go play something else you [BAD WORD] fix your broken ass game.
one last thing. heres proof the devs dont know what they're doing. remember a few months back when they reworked pallet stuns/flashlight saves on killers? so you could flashlight during anytime or drop the pallet at any time and the killer would drop the survivor every single [BAD WORD] time? yea i remember that too and as a survivor.......i was shocked and dumbfounded. it floored me so badly that i played properly like before the patch. i timed the pallets and flashlights properly because i knew it was terribly unfair. these devs are just........idk man. [BAD WORD] canadians. maybe i'll check back during christmas or so but this game is catered to rank 20 noobs now. bye bye
I just wanted to keep this absurdly large wall going. Happy scrolling!

So just finished a round where a random aka meg decided to invite me to a party.I was talking to my friend so I did not want to join and ignored it. Well sometime into the match I got hooked and they stay on a gen while my friend gets chased off they barely get me before struggle and my friend goes down. I rush to go heal myself while my friend gets hooked and while I’m heading the Meg decided to trap me in a corner where I could not move. They did this on purpose because they were all farming with the killer and we didn’t join in...So I’m thinking screw it I do not wanna disconnect but these losers have taken my game hostage because now they only want to kill me and my friend... So I pose the question why can’t I just phase through other surviours or better yet why can’t this be considered a bannable offense? Why does my fun get to be ruined simply because I did not want to join some imbeciles party.Farming is something you will encounter a lot during new chapters/blood point events and something I'll partake in as both Killer and survivor from time to time. My personal advice is to allow survivors to finish all the gens first so anyone not wanting to farm can leave. If the other survivors are stopping you from doing gens or the killer/survivors are just trapping you in the map that is holding the game hostage. The only way farming can and should be allowed is with everyone wanting to participate not stopping those who don't from leaving.
In a game with this level of grinding its inevitable to get farmers, just don't stop those who don't want to farm from leaving.

As a killer in this situation if 2 people DC very early in I'll farm points with the last 2. Its just something I personally do because the two people who DCed ruined everyones match. May aswell all get some BP and enjoy some positive fun.

so.. playing the killer and being new to the game, i cant help but notice a pattern when someone DCs or was AFK from the start of the game.the rest of the 3 survivors simply let themselves get killed by me and hung up to die.
now im still new and all so i take this chance to rake up some more points and learn the mechanics of the game. but i dont understand why they do it though. i mean my very first match as a survivor had one DC too but i still played the game. in fact my entire team played on at that time, surprisingly.
are survivors not aware of the fact that you can win with 3 people? you dont have to get yourself killed, and even then you still get points and all that.
i sure dont hope my mates decide to kill themselves when i team up with them, because one guy leaves the match. and if they do i hope the entity takes them in real life.
I tend to still try my best in these situations but sometimes if I just want to play a full game I will simply give myself up. I'd rather give the killer his/her points and move on then play a match I'm not going to enjoy. I'm saying this as someone who plays 99% solo. A match with two random people is either funny or frustrating.
-
My most satisfying moment as killer is when I visit my PS4 photo collection of all the survivor who's bodies hang in the air after they rage quit. Brings a tear to my eye.

I'm by no means the best Billy out there but it is not very hard to dodge that chainsaw. Not to mention after a Billy attempts to hit you with it 3-5 times you would most likely have gotten hit with that mallet long ago so its all worked out the same. He by no means needs a nerf simply because you have difficulty with him. Have you tried to play Billy against mid/high tier players?
-
I'll make this simple for everyone. Stop fighting with one another, keep in mind we could have all made the mistake of playing F13 instead.
what a horrible thought
-
My time playing survivor is 99% solo and I often end the match with more points and alive vs the SWF groups joining me. Honestly find it more fun the few times I play with a friend, but I'm far more of a logical/strategic survivor when playing alone.

Because vaulting over things and dropping down is SO HARD as a survivor. Bullshit. You should have lost these second/third/fourth chance crutch perks years ago. You've been coddled and you're entitled. No survivor should be able to loop a killer for three generators or more. The reason they can is due to exploit abuse (pallet looping) and OP perks. In future, how about learning to hide and juke instead of playing fearlessly because you know DbD killers are weak as piss and your God perks will save your griefer ass. Like insta downs, speed addons and BBQ and ruin all the crux you use.
I begining to think you are just a bad killer main who uses any excuse. You won’t be happy untill survivors are just AI that are easy for you to beat. You say get better at hiding but that’s only viable if the killer depart know where the gens are else your just hiding while some killer runs from gen to gen. tyme is a total ass hat who has delusions of grandeur, I had to stop following him on twitch as his stream turned into him boasting about how amazing he is and how he singlehandedly made the devs listen to his ideas and how they listen to his advise because he’s so amazing. Insta-downs, speed add-ons and BBQ are not crutch just so you know
Oh so neither are the above mentioned for survivors just so you know, I forget how easy it is to just change the meaning of a word to suit your position A crutch, is a perk or item that gives you power without consequence, BBQ you still have to chase survivors down and down them, it doesn't do it for you. Insta-downs have some sort of downsides to them, Billy his very liitle control during his sprint, Leatherface has tpo chase survivors down before his chainsaw is useful and Myers Insta down is limited. Speed add-ons are actually getting nerfed with tinkerer changes and even then, with speed add-ons you have to still meet the conditions of if you didn't have
No one ever defines a crutch as a consequence related thing. A crutch is something a person depends on hence the term crutch. Yes' and this dependence comes from lack of consequence Not at all, you can say they all have a degree of consequence, and therefore they can’t fall into your definition at all.
you defined limited which some of these are, you said they are being nurfed as are these so they no longer meet your definition
I would ask you then to tell me the consequence of Decisive strike, sprint burst and Self care, vs the consequence of BBQ and insta down attacks
I don’t need to you defined it yourself. You claim limited as a consequence and some of these are limited, you defined control as a consequence some of these can’t be controlled, you stated some were being nurfed and so are these, so by your own definition they aren’t crutches.
Billy himself is a crutch he’s pretty much all you see at high ranks? It’s relyed on and there for a crutch.
You can't make a statement and then ask the other person to come up with the reasoning behind it. If you cannot name the consequence for him why would he be inclined to defend your point of view? There is no consequence to DS. If you run DS you are A: Going to be ignored because a free escape isn't worth chasing you for, or B: Going to get slugged, giving you more time to be saved. SB gives you a free chance to start looping if you are found because the speed boost negates being caught off guard. It might limit your ability to run around when not in a chase but if you know the killer is chasing someone else then that 40s cooldown doesn't matter and you can run freely. I agree Dead Hard is fine the way it is and the exhaustion nerf hurts that perk most of all. Lithe lacks the initial speed boost from SB but vaults are very easy to find and on some maps where SB would cause you to lose the boost to speed Lithe gives you that amazing escape. Self Care means you can erase all negative effects from a chase if the killer looses you or gives up on you making him waste 100% of his time. If you had to find someone else to heal you then that would be wasting your teams time but self care negates even that possible downside.
BBQ and Chili requires you to hunt distant targets down who can A: Hide behind generators to avoid the aura or B: Just leave in a different direction after 3-4 seconds. BBQ only works well if the survivor you are after doesn't know you have the perk or isn't very good at basic strategy, making it possible to waste your time leaving a hook to find someone who is no longer there. Instant downs, NOED, only works at end game assuming the totems have not been destroyed. So its a perk that may not even have the opportunity to be used during a match and you cannot play around it being destroyed because you can't see the totems. If you are including limited add-ons in this argument (be they survivor or killer) I don't think that's a reasonable argument. The point of add-ons are to give you a fun reward for playing and finding the offering in a bloodweb. They are meant to be limited items that help twist a match or two. The only real problem here is that the game is 1 v 4 meaning you are more likely to have survivors using an amazing add on than a killer, that's a statistical fact.
So yes the survivor perks mentioned have far lower consequences (if any) then the killer perks being argued. And in the case where you get a BBQ billy on that huge open corn map (this instant I do see it being very strong) is incredibly rare and not something you can claim to be OP. The fact is this game will never find a perfect balance because the community is so unevenly split. You theoretically have 4 survivor oriented players per every 1 killer oriented player making opinions clash too frequently.

Making a character prestige is not the most rewarding of things (imo), you get a bloody outfit (that are kinda pointless for non licensed characters since we have outfits now) and a slightly bigger chance to get better items on the bloodweb.
So why not give a prestige character a permanent bloodpoint bonus at the end of every match, like a small percentage to make prestige actually worth the time it takes to grind till prestige 3.
For example a prestige 1 character could get 5% bonus bloodpoints in every category at the end of every match, a prestige 2 could get 10% bonus bloodpoints and prestige 3 get 15%.
What does everyone think about this and prestige in general?I agree but 2% that someone suggested is really meaningless.
I'd be more on board with 5-15% per prestige15% is much more than you realize. 6% sounds rather balanced because its a small boost that will add up over time. It is way to quick to prestige and getting the 5/10/15% would make prestiging everyone so damn fast. If everyone gets prestige that easily it would lose all meaning. The reward needs to be small enough to not make it seem necessary but still be enough to make it a nice goal.

Ditto. All my killers are level 50 and have good builds. Why would I screw that up for bloody clothing? If they up the blood web reward is consider it but a couple extra percent toward a rare consumable isn't selling the idea
The increase to "rare" perks makes no sense either because perk rarity is different each time you prestige.

Yes I truly want a buff like it, but i think it's not so interesting because the doc has this mechanics already... When you are mad you can't do anything so what's will be the difference with the doc and freddy ?
they will be really closeWay Freddy's works would only work while the survivor is in the half-awake phase when they are transitioning from awake to dreamworld. It's only like 7 seconds by default if memory serves. The idea is to give Freddy a much needed way to allow him to defend Totems, hooks, and Generators (an area is VERY VERY WEAK in right now)
I undertood that but this new idea is truly near to the doctor's gameplay and it's not so good : on a side you have a true great killer for free and on the other side you have a paid DLC.
How is it even close to his gameplay? They would share a side mechanic at the most. FFS, not everything about every killer needs to be 100% different.
BTW, Doctor came with Spark of Madness, and it was not free.
The two killers play completely different. XD
It was free on PS4.

Since Wraith is easy to track once you know what to look out for even at longe range SWF groups will communicate your position at any time, make him completely invisible outside of 10-15m range.I think his bell just shouldn't give his uncloak away. It should be silent until he is out of cloak. Freddy has a terror radius and isn't fun to play against because you can't try to hide from something you 100% cannot see. If the wraith were completely invisible it would make him impossible to hide from before a chase starts. He does need to be a bit less obvious though, especially on corn maps.

I love this game so freaking much, but when Horvath and Queen confirmed that stealth is not the direction they want the game to go, my heart totally sank.I remember when I first played this game. The fun was running away, hiding and having that intense nervousness as the heartbeat grew louder and the killer could be right around the corner about to find you. I still LOVE that.
I don't find the action/chases fun, nor being able to read auras. Killers get swamped and bullied by survivors, and it's chaos. No tension. This isn't an angry post, it's their game and they can do what they want to it (and it seems from Horvath that a lot of people do enjoy the action/running style gameplay). I'm just so disappointed that the scary, tense, tactical game I used to love is slowly turning into an all out aura reading, running around, guns blazing action fest.

I agree that stealth shouldn't be the focus. It would be boring for a Killer to play a match where he doesn't find anyone. I play a ton of solo survivor and most of my matches end with me never being found. While fun to have close encounters it can also be boring. What I believe we need is a way to make chases more about jukes/mind-games rather than loops/DS. Its fun for the killer to find someone to chase and catch and its fun as survivor to lose a killer during a chase. If they can find a healthy balance I believe that's the way to go. Kate's "Dance with me" perk is a nice step in that direction but I often find it activates on a window or pallet that at that time makes it meaningless. It would be cool if it was on a activation button instead. That being said we still have a long way to go with were perks are to make anything balanced on that scale.
Summary- Total stealth makes boring Killer games, aura reading makes boring survivor games, mindgames/jukes make for fun plays on both sides.

Whenever I play as survivor, I prefer to play stealthy. The less focused the killer is on me, the better. It's worked really well for me so far, but it's not as easy against the doctor. I was curious if there were any good tips for evading the doctor or staying out of his way entirely if at all possible.
As someone who plays a ton of Killer (Doctor being top 3) here are some pointers I try to do to find survivors and ways to counter them.
1: As soon as I get someone to scream in tier 1 I get out of "treatment" mode. I do this so I can pop level one on the next survivor I want to find easily. Not every Doctor will do this method as there are advantages to getting people into tier 2/3.
To combat this (unless you are the one caught first and being chased) try to follow the killer to pop your tier 1 while the killer is distracted. Since tier 1 has no meter you can see, and is very fast to pop its a good idea to get into tier 1 to save yourself the hassle of being caught/screaming too fast.
2: I will often send my shock therapy around obstacles I know survivors like to loop/hide around frequently, to see if I can catch someone I didn't actually see.
To combat this try to hide in obscure places that you may not think "ideal". Since Doctor can shock through objects most of the time they will check around hooks/pallets with their power to try and sniff out a survivor who might be hiding.
3: We love to roam in treatment mode to raise your madness and make you scream.
To combat this simply keep an eye out for electric shocks under your feet. This means you are within his terror radius and are slowly building up madness tier. You can spend a surprising amount of time in tier 1 before getting tier 2 and even longer in tier 2 before hitting 3. Do your best to get out of his radius or skirt the edge as it will decrease the buildup significantly. In the event you cannot get out of his radius fast enough a locker might save you from screaming as you gain no madness when in one. Keep in mind being in a locker brings about its own dangers.
Madness does not decrease when in a locker or withing the doctors terror radius when in treatment mode. Crouching also help madness go down faster.
Playing stealth against a Doctor is far more difficult because his power is meant to counter such a playstyle. Until you really get a feel for the map you are on and how that particular Doctor plays you may find that stealth isn't the best option and knowing where the nearest window/pallet is might save your life.
I hope this helps somewhat as I know Doctor can seem frustrating to some survivors. Just remember his power doesn't really help him in a chase unless you spend too much time looping one window/pallet as his shock can interrupt your vault.
-
I should have also mentioned you keep any "teachable" perks unlocked to find in all your blood-webs.
-
Didn't read the other comments but when you prestige survivor:
Start over from level 1 with a new prestige symbol by your character level.
Get the bloody version of the default shirt for that character.
Lose all your add-ons, perks and offerings.
Prestige 2 is the same as above but you get the bloody pants, and prestige 3 you get the head/face.Prestige with killer:
Start at level 1 with a new prestige symbol by your character level.
Get the bloody version of the weapon the character uses.
Lose all add-ons, perks and offerings.
Prestige 2 is the same as above but you get the bloody body set, and prestige 3 you get the head. They say you get better odds at receiving "rare/very rare perks" to appear in your blood-web but since each time you prestige the rarity of the perks is randomized this honestly makes little to no sense.
To sum it up when you prestige you are basically starting the game over but with something of a "bragging rights" cosmetic. The worth of this cosmetic is up to you but it makes no difference on the overall game.
Unless you get prestige 3 Claudette as she is basically a ninja with full bloody cloths. -
Looping sucks for killer. Aura reading sucks for survivors. Being able to lose a killer via mind games/stealthy tactics fun for both sides (give or take). I honestly hope we see more fun way to get out of a chase that doesn't include DS or looping. Mind games actually pit skill v skill. At least for me as survivor I'd rather juke/hide than loop, and as a killer if I get juked I don't feel as bad because they played well and smart.

Its a game, it will never be perfect, it will throw crap your way and it will give you moments of laughter.Lets stop fighting "Killer v Survivor" and start looking at everyone as people looking to have fun. The game is unbalanced and will never be perfect so move on and just enjoy the fun times.
If you focus on the bad that's all you'll ever see.
Just have fun!

Everytime I read this kind of stuff, it reminds me this.
It's not like balance and fun are incompatible.I agree but far more often than not people do not debate changes but go to full on arguing, using vulgar speech or personal attacks. My point is if the game has devolved to that point for you and you are no longer having fun why spend so much time just playing for the sake of it. Your picture is also a great example of "trolling" that person isn't playing the game to get enjoyment but messing with the other guy for "fun". I think what you posted proves my point that a lot of people are missing the point of the game and making their own fun by screwing with others. You can argue that's still considered "fun" but it fun at the expense of the very thing you are meant to be enjoying.

So what I'm seeing in the comments is that a bunch of low ranking people who think killer is underpowered lmfao.I can give a better example the jump scare Myers build easily used and you can end games pretty quickly and note this is rank 1 killer against survivors under rank 5 if you don't believe me how that's played then at this point the discussion is useless to people who are brain damaged.
Look at how low rank I am guys. I've only ever touched the game once.

Only P3? Damn you need to catch up.

If you are including Nea in this list then I guess all killers are fair game, so I say Myers and Laurie's bush

Oddly enough its often the people who play killer who show the most empathy towards people.
