Glow as in Aura, not the actual fire beneath them.
I'll repeat, "beacons of light straight out to the sky."

As someone who only plays Feng and Ace I enjoy the new cosmetic bugs. The fact that they exist is proof she is the most beloved character. The entity feeds on hope and knows how to tug at our heartstrings.

Simple solution. Remove rank.

I like this, the only thing I would add personally is that if they try to go throught the hatch while a trap is on them, it still kills themIt would make it impossible to get off if that's the case. If hatch changes come through it should alleviate the easy escape but forcing the trap to be removed would make escape impossible unless the killer decided not to patrol boxes.

Would it be a good idea to perhaps set it up so that as long as you are rank 1 you get a bloodpoint bonus? I like the idea of say a 50% bonus to bloodpoints so long as you maintain Rank 1. If you are Rank 1 survivor you will get 50% more points when you play survivor, if you are rank 1 killer you get 50% more points when you play killer. Also ending a season while Rank 1 will grant you the privilege of wearing a special cosmetic for the following season and if you fail to reach rank 1 on that season you will lose that special cosmetic.Edit: Also i would like to point out that if you reach rank 1 and then derank back to rank 2 you lose the bloodpoint bonus until you get yourself back to Rank 1.
Once they start adding in rewards to rank we will see an increase of toxic competitive people rage quitting to save rank. I think rank should simply be removed from this game as it does nothing but make people feel they are losing something and breeds this toxic behavior.
-
And this is why I'm glad the game will never have voice chat.
-
I spoke to my Mom but she claims to not know what "Dead by Daylight" is. Should I be concerned shes lying to me?
-
I like the idea of adding more realism to the game. How about survivors react differently than others when seeing the killer. Some will run and scream, some will try to fight back in vain and other will freeze in place allowing for a nice easy down. All survivors are killed within a single attack and at least allowed to crawl away for a few moments as life leaves their eyes. After the match the killer cannot leave the map but is instead forced to stay on the map and contemplate their ways. Until they have truly reconciled with their conscious they will be forced to stay there alone surrounded by silence.
Sounds like a fun time!

Unless you are working within the company it seems you are simply venting internet frustration rather then stating any facts or supporting evidence. Sure their approach has been lackluster in some cases but great in others. They seem to be doing a good job in making changes based off data and not angry customer ranting. Also I would try and use spell check next time.

Survivor objective- Fix 5 generators and open an exit to escape (Alternative use a hatch to escape). I don't see any rule books around saying how you must play to achieve this objective.
Killer objective- Kill all the survivors. Odd again I don't see any rule book saying how you must play to achieve this objective.
It seems people can play how they want without the other side creating their own imaginary rules. So lets all do just that. Like in life some people will be jerks and others generous. Don't always expect to get your way, and make the best of a bad situation. Life is too short for salt, try something sweeter.
Cheers!
-
I agree but my point is towards how much effort people put into arguing they lose sight of having fun. Perhaps its not like this with everyone but I see a point in having passion for something and wanting to see it grow and flourish but also knowing when it rots to accept it as is, or move on.

Wait, people played games for fun? That must have been before the internet. It was a great time my friend. People use to look at one another in person and make noises with their mouths to form words. They would perform these interactions for hours and often go to a long forgotten place we use to call "outside".
Simple times, better times...
-
I use to play a ton of Hello Kitty Dream Carnival but the game was just to sweet. I needed something salty to help balance my palate.
-
Remember when people use to play games for fun? Man I miss those days...
-
Here is a brilliant idea, play the game and stop complaining! Stuff is broken on both sides just accept this game isn't meant to be competitive and move on to the next match! This constant "back and forth" between killer and survivor is whats keeping the game from being fun.
I just got done with a match where the killer used a ebony mori and tunnelled everyone. No one quit out, we all tried to do gens and had a fun rescue resulting in 1 person escaping. No complaining about anything just played our best and for fun. We even sent a "gg" to the killer who (expecting hatemail) was pleasantly surprised and congratulated the escaping survivor. We all left salt free and happy.
Give fun a try! -
Stealth would be a fun change to looping but I'd hate to play a match where I spend 5 minutes finding no one and everyone escapes.

Don't worry Gideon is a nightmare for everyone hah. I would also recommend playing both sides as it will give you an idea of the survivors point of view for where to hide and the killers point of view for where to look.i am doing that actually, and i feel like im pretty good at hiding as a survivor. but depending on the killer, the game just seem really in favor of the survivors. although i have to admit running around as a survivor that havent memorized the maps yet, i struggle to find the generators lol since they are not highlighted.
when i play killer, i dont expect to kill everyone. i play with the idea in mind, that i ######### as many as i can. but yea.. i could use a minimap or something. but i guess its only untill i know the maps.
i also dont fully understand all the perks when i read them. like one of the Pigs perks which does the following:
A disturbing, yet brilliant, Trap design sketched in detail on a sheet of paper.
Increases available Jigsaw Boxes by 1.
Moderately increases the Reverse Bear Trap death timer.why is it good to have more jigsaw boxes? and why on earth would it be great for the reverse bear trap to have increased death timer? shouldnt it have a decreased timer so it goes off faster?
same with another of the Pigs perks:
Unlocks potential in one's Aura reading ability. The last 1 regressing Generator's/2 regressing Generators'/3 regressing Generators' Aura(s) are indicated in white to you for 16 seconds.
what the hell is a regressing generators aura?
The add on you mentioned adds another box making the odds of getting the correct key 1 in 5 vs 1 in 4. For this you also get a negative effect making the trap last longer. To be fair her power is mostly for keeping survivors off gens to prolong the game as it is rare you will kill someone with them. Her perk " Survalence" (spelt wrong) reveals the auras of generators you've kicked and regress (they slowly lose progress when kicked). Its a horrible perk don't use it ^.^

Since hiding the totems clearly doesn't work why not add something to the mix. For example in order to cleanse a hex you must first find a item hidden on the map (lets use a doll as an example) that doll must then be brought to the totem in order to begin the "cleansing ritual" that will also have skill checks. This is a very simple idea that will make finding the totem not as meaningful unless you also have the "doll". It would also require the survivor with the doll to perform the cleanse or at least drop the doll for another survivor. It would prolong totem life and give survivors something else to do, or if they choose to ignore the totem then to just work through it.I'd like to see the cleanse interaction (only for Hex Totems) put a penalty on the Survivor if they stop in any manner (getting hit, just leaving etc.) before completing said interaction.
What that penalty is i do not know, but it should be something severe, like a curse.
I mean, they cleanse it instead of just kicking it over, which suggests to me it's not a good idea to mess with it.Maybe as a curse they become the killer and are forced to play the rest of the match against their own salty team?
-
It would be fun but it would also split the player base meaning even longer queue times.
-
Rank shouldn't be in this game unless it can be balanced to a competitive level. Remove rank and it would just be more fun.
-

Sprint Burst needed a nerf not exhaustion, so their idea of fixing sprint burst is by ruining exhaustion.Doesn't make sense. It'll become the only exhaustion perk if this nerf is released due to every other one becoming incredibly less powerful than Sprint Burst.
Calm down Brady. You will get your perk cooldown back after you hang on that hook for awhile.

I've noticed that survivors have been getting a lot more cosmetics then what Killers are getting, like for example, Seeing the new leaks for the next set of cosmetics Survivors get like 7 new outfits (Nea, Claudette, Min, Ace, Dwight, Meg and David), while killers only get 3 (Hill-Billy, Hag and Trapper)I don't know, as a killer main i find it kinda unfair that we don't have a whole lot of customization to pick from since where so limited, while survivor mains literally have an entire attire to choose from....
Survivors I'd imagine also have a much more "copy and paste" model allowing for easier and faster cosmetics, as with killer their model probably requires much more tweaking on the art teams part being all rather unique in appearance.
-
Don't worry that first comment was sarcasm. I too am frustrated with how poorly totems work, hence why I believe they need a bigger change then simply "hide them better" as its already failed several times.

You seem surprised that the "fix" didn't work. I take you're new here?
In all honesty I think they just need to change how hex works as this is like the forth "hex placement" patch will no real result. Some maps are just not built for the hex totems current design while other are pretty decent. -
You know not every survivor perk needs to be powerful. Kate is a nice way for survivors to learn the hardship killer perks face. I mean soon "calm spirit" will cancel the doctors power along with Kate's abilities to ruin the Doctors add-on for fake pallets. So lets just play the game and stop worrying about balance as history has proven it will be a long, slow sludge to get there.

I play survivor solo so bond is just overall a useful solo perk. It is also great to watch chases happen through a wall while you mindlessly hold the repair button down.

I never understand “mains” just play both, guarantee you have over an 100% higher chance of growing a conscious."Main" simply implies you play one side/enjoy one side more that the other. I believe it rarely means "I play 100% killer and will never touch survivor." I'd consider myself a killer "main" as that is my go-to for fun. I have a few P3 survivors but I don't play them nearly as often.
-
You will eventually get the hang of it (with the exception of corn...you either have a good time or a bad time). My advice is to tilt your view slightly downward to see a bit more ground while chasing. This will always keep the scratch marks visible on your peripheral vision while always allowing you to look ahead to find the survivor. It will take time to get use to it if you are playing on console too as the fps isn't optimal.

why are overly altruistic (I’m not, I make educated logical saves unless I really need to yolo) survivors a problem for you guys? Bc from survivor POV it’s annoying for me when they are. This is Bc gens aren’t getting done and everyone else is usually on their 2nd 3rd hook with my chances of making it growing grimmer. From my POV as a survivor it taxes the team and helps you. What’s your POV?I do not find overly altruistic survivors a problem to play against but the after game chat is 90% of the time riddled with horrible language directed at me. Its the mentality that once hooked i must let these blatantly obvious survivors get a free unhook/escape. If I can see you I'm not going to ignore you. The biggest problem with this game is survivors want killer to play by the rules they set. I'm here playing the same game you guys are, and I will play it however i choose just like you can play however you choose.

For PC its not needed but for console it just makes life that much more simple.

Don't worry, they don't effect my stalking either...

Its because a ton of new people have joined the game and are simply feeding the toxicity, be they killer or survivor. This game has become of meme at this point when it comes to deliberately being toxic. Things won't change until the developers set together a large, and competent, team to moderate behavior on console side.

No, you can't be banned for camping. You can only be banned for:- Cheating/Hacking
- Extremely toxic chat (death threats and the like)
- Holding the game hostage
- Too many DCs
- Griefing (for example, if you target the same player over and over again and make their trials as annoying as possible)
- Stream sniping
I think that's everything.
I think #4 must be broken on PS4.

One day humanity will finally find a way to kill the phrase "OP"...one day it won't have to suffer being abused by everyone unable to cope with a situation...one day...

Remember no survivor has any experience with engine repairs and should not attempt to fix or tamper with any generator due to safety concerns.

They should just change all the killers to Myers. I'm honestly shocked it hasn't been implemented yet.

As a killer main and an occasional survivor player, I know a lot about this game, and I also have my opinions on both sides. I've seen and heard about the ideas for nerfing multiple survivor perks. Most of them I agree with. Decisive Strike and Sprint Burst mainly are the most frustrating survivor perks to deal with, but I don't agree about Self Care. I don't find the perk frustrating to deal with at all, nor do I find it too strong, despite always using the perk whenever I play survivor.I, and many others, mainly use it because it is almost necessary.
In DBD, you need to stay in the healthy state for as long as you can. Being injured puts you on the doorstep of death. Self Care is by far the most RELIABLE way to achieve safety in this form. Not only that, all alternatives are EXTREMELY unreliable. Medkits often only heal you once, Pharmacy and Bond are too situational, and so on. Self Care is like Brutal Strength before Freddy came out; if you didn't use it, you were SOL.
In my opinion, and from what I gather from discussing this with others, it would be better to grant alternatives to survivors, so that Self Care is an OPTION. For example, the following could be changed to make the game more dynamic in terms of healing:
Brown and Green medkits: Focus on healing yourself and last longer
Yellow and Purple medkits: Focus on healing others and last longer
Having stronger medkits would certainly make matches more dynamic. You would have a choice: Bring a medkit and you can use a perk other than SC, or bring SC and bring a different item. Maybe flashlights and toolboxes wouldn't be the go to choice for some people anymore.Bond: Increase range by a bit
I know that some people like using this instead of SC, but it has a glaring weakness in that it puts your fate in the hands of your allies. Risk and Reward in this way. Bigger range might help to compensate.Streetwise: Increase efficiency boost by a bit
Maybe having longer lasting medkits would give a reason to use this perk more.Self Care itself: Remove increased self heal medkit efficiency
It might need to be removed if medkits are buffed. If you've read this far, please give your thoughts!
The problem with this idea is by buffing medkits you are effectively giving survivors another free perk slot. Self care should simply have charges or a cooldown to make "stealth" a more viable option. If you keep buffing other things to offset the balance of 1 perk you add so much power to the overall selection.

Yes, they are. The fact that the people who DC against you don't get banned doesn't mean nobody does.

No, you're not. The devs have mentioned this time and time again - there's an automated system in place for people who disconnect.
The problem with the automatic system is that the disconnect "% per matches played" is set to 80%. That number is A: Way too damn high and B: know to most people that you can stay under the threshold and still abuse it.
