  • I admit I haven't read the entire thread, but first genrushing is not a thing. Generators are literally the only objective. So when you say genrushing you are saying survivors shouldn't work on generators.

Second, would be curious what perks you were using. If you are having problems finding survivors I suggest tinkerer. If you don't have the mobility for that perk alone pair it with bitter murmer so you can see what direction the survivors head after a gen is done. Or toss on Corrupt Intervention and make the survivors that start far away move closer to do gens.

I think one of the problems is the majority of survivor perks are kinda meh. When survivors find a perk combo that works they stick with it.

Edit: I will admit you have a point about tbagging as that irritates me as well (and it doesn't matter if I am playing survivor or killer on that one)

  • Like others have said it is a sign the killer is camping. I use it that way and that is how I treat it when I see others doing it. Granted that said when I am running solo I try to use kindred to help out.

People like their insta-downs. Especially when all it takes is 2 seconds of staring and BOOM exposed. Is that cheap? It feels like it, but it really isn't. I'm having problems breaking him out of stealth when I'm looking straight at him btw, so that's a factor. I have to run Spine Chill on every character because there's so much Ghost Face. When the devs buff other killers or slow down the gens so we can actually play with more than 3 different killers, you'll see less of him.

I agree breaking him out of stealth these days takes a miracle. I have tried the stare at him, stare slightly above him (due to 3rd person angle), etc. I have an easier time blinding him than breaking him out of stealth so I think that has a lot to do with it.

We already know tome 4 is impossible, so why does it matter?

If I recall correctly MandyTalk said that some of those items were place holders and would be changed. But yeah, it is almost like whoever set some of those Tier 4 challeges has never played the game.

  • Not me, but my friends, had all sorts imof issues. They took the same track, the top track, followed by the bottom track. Since I did the bottom track as quick as I could was able to get ahead of them, but they fought over unhooks, and I thought I was going to see an engagement end over the destroy 8 totems. That took them like 4 trials and they argued non stop. I would call out a totem and they woild both sprint toward me to see who could grab it first

  • 18 and done with lvl 1 of the tome. My goal was 20 before lvl 2 dropped, but don't see that happening.

  • The other day I was playing as a killer trying to get one of the Tomes done. I had hooked 3 of them twice, and the fourth once. I had completed everything I was there for and so after the last gen I went and opened the door and walked away. Maybe they didn't know I had opened the door, but suddenly there were the loud crashes. I went over there and they had been junping over windows to catch my attention, then they stood in the walkway and tbagged.

I understand why there is no option to rematch as I would have done everything in my power to destroy them the next match.

  • My view is if someone on my "team" rushes to get me off the hook then it really isn't my fault, so I hate when the killer tunnels me just because my team mate decided to farm me for points. I know some survivors have asked for a way to "kick" other survivors away if they are about to get tunneled.

When I play killer I hunt whoever I run across, but if I see someone get pulled off the hook I am at least nice enough to go after the savior and not the victim in that case.

If I am seen via Bitter Murmer, BBQ, etc then I am fair game.

  • If I recall correctly the answer is no they won't increase the time it takes to complete gens. That said, they did say they were looking at other things to add to increase game length without making the gens longer to complete.

  • Pretty sure all saved data is stored on the server side..

  • While it isn't the biggest streaming service, I would have liked to see at least one Mixer streamer make the Fog Whispers list.

  • It doesn't fit in the time frame, but would love to see the next killer released on Halloween.

  • @fcc2014 My advice is don't play the event. You will be ranting and raving on the forums and risk going back inside.

  • why would fixing one gen make the others lose progress? I am more for taking away the bonus on great skill checks, and giving a slight (maybe 1% negative) on good skill checks than your idea.

I don't have any problem with slowing the game down, in fact I made a post with my ideas one time, but just don't like the thought behind resetting progress on all gens when one is fixed.

  • I could be wrong, but I think they are trying to keep it from being way to strong. Pair Thanatophobia with Hex Ruin, and it is very strong, and then have a no mither in there and the survivors are seriously hurting. (BTW I am a survivor main and I HATE when I look up and see someone running no mither. I just want to slap them)

I dont struggle when I get downed, so that killers can get to their hooks, and I too run towards those hooks and stand under them if the gens have been done too fast. Sadly, this is when I get facecamped. It wont stop me from trying to be nice, but it is sad how little people care.
I have removed ruin from my build, I regret it a few times, but I usually get atleast 3 of them, which is more than fair because of the amount of points they still get from doing the gens. There are nice people out there, Im just sorry you guys dont seem to encounter them too often.

(Its like hunting easter eggs in world of warcraft, and a frickin mage blinks to the egg you run towards, haha)

    @mintchapstick said:
    Yeah, okay. Sure.

I installed the game again to play in the event as a survivor and I sacrificed myself to killers by literally stopping under a BBQ hook and pointing at it for them, and they repaid me by patrolling event gens, using overcharge on them, using ruin, and being all around ######### even after my sacrifice.

So cool whatever, I guess it's another situation where killers are just sweet innocent players being griefed & never do anything scummy.

I do the same thing. Try to make sure everyone gets the event gens/hooks. I bought the game at the end of December, and have 32 days in it.. So I am averaging 3.3 hours a day in it and this even is the first time I have wanted to put the game down and just walk away.

Devs you have to do something. These events are supposed to be fun, yet I think it is driving more people away than it is bringing in.

Edit: added a space between 2 words

Oh, no! A killer using a perk that has been called a "must have" to make the game last a bit longer and that can be removed! And a perk that forces a skillcheck once! And, worse, kicking a generator, a feature added to the game intentionally, much like sabotaging hooks! The toxicity from this killer, oh my, worse than a nuclear fallout.

Every match I’ve seen ruin in I’ve saboed all event hooks to 99% and waited for that wonderful moment they get there and crash there goes your event hook.

I see your point, but those players who are being toxic A) won't read the forums probably, or B) think that they aren't the problem. I am sure they think wow he just saboed the event hook time for me to turn up the toxicity..

I have thought about turning up the toxicity as I have been "screwed over" by both survivors and killers but the problem is it just hurts the next person who might be "innocent". Also toxicity breeds toxicity.

To be honest I don’t see it as toxic it’s not like the event goal is difficult to achieve, and I’m playing normally so why shouldn’t the killer.

plus the majority don’t even change their builds anyway so it’s just a standard game

It might not be difficult to do, but I am trying to do both killer and survivor events. The problem is I am a survivor main so I don't have some of the "Must have" perks. And 9 times out of 10, no matter where I down the survivor the event hook is on the other side of the map. When they wiggle free, since I don't have agitation, they run in the opposite direction. It is not uncommon for me to have to down the same survivor 3 times to get 1 event hook. Maybe I am a bit jaded though as last night none of my progress saved so I lost about 25 killer chops, AND I have been super nice not kicking event gens, taking survivors to them, and making sure the survivors got the event gens and then they DS or wiggle free before I can get my hook. No.. survivors are NOT entitled to free escapes nor are killers entitled to free hooks, but it is frustrating.

The statement about the devs saying they won't look into it is true though. I found it somewhere in the Q&A section of this forum. Man I wish at the very least we could make those same colors brighter...

Oh wow.. I hadn't even read that part.. Yeah that really stinks. PUBG can make the blood blue I don't know why DBD couldn't make the colors different, but I saw your next post as well.. Simply amazed that they "can't" do it..

  • I don't mind your build, but if you are using Pop goes the weasel on event gens then that is only breeding toxicity.

I have posted about this a couple of times, I don't know how to paste links here, but search for these topics:

    Colorblind killers, again...PS4
Red gen auras give trouble to colorblind players. PS4

In one of those threads someone said the developers once talked about it, unluckily stating there are no plans on doing anything.
You can try tweaking settings on your screen or monitor, it helps a bit. There are maps where I can't locate a single gen though...

Next time you post on this you can drop the PS4.. It is a problem that effects all platforms I am sure.. (not colorblind, but I can appreciate the problems). Also make sure you posted this in the wishlist section. (to lazy to search for the posts, but... just trying to be helpful)

Most of the killers I've faced are usually willing to swap hooks for gens.

The vast majority actually. A handful just wanna play normal games that's fine. Haven't ran into a Gen camper yet.

Gonna start my killer grind tomorrow. Figured I'll play normal games, but if they wanna farm it's tit for tat.

You sabo an event hook though you get a campin.

I have been willing to do this on both sides, and yet either get tunneled or DSed and tbagged. These events just aren't fun. On the upside with so many people boycotting the event or done with it and not coming back till it is over, it does help the Devs with the back end server overload problem.

  • @Jtlewiston said:
I honestly don't understand why people don't just play for fun during events. You have so many months to play regularly.

Because a lot of people get their rocks off by ruining other people's fun.

I have played as survivor and run under a bbq hook and stood there to help killers get the chops only to be tunneled.

I have played killer and taken people to the event gen and made them repair it and in return expected to be allowed the event hook only to be DSed and then tbagged.

I had wanted all cosmetics for this event and I have the time to do it, just tired of the toxicity. If only I could be play with the same toxic person a second time just to ruin their fun by either body blocking BBQ hooks/saboing them or Mori-ing the toxic survivor. Understand I am not condoning toxic play, but wish I could give them a taste of their own medicine.

I am doubtful I will keep playing this event as it is just no fun, but:
-----Killers if you see a survivor standing (not talking about saboing) at a event hook, please take your chop and let them have the event gens.
-----Survivors if a killer lets you have an event gen, please make sure they get the event hooks.

  • all hooks come back after 3 mins.  now  the question is why be toxic and sabo event hooks?
  • I wouldn't mind seeing a licensed killer every October, and the rest of the year they do original killers

  • @not_Queen can we get another update? it has been hours since the backend servers were shut down.
  • I haven't seen sabo survivors yet, nor have I seen a ton of hardcore campers, but the tunneling and kicking BBQ gens is real.
  • I don't see Jason Voorhees joining until the Friday 13th lawsuit gets finished.. Maybe not even then, but no way before that.

Chucky, No way. The hag is already horrible to use in the corn or taller stalks of grass in swamp. She is just so short she can't see over it. There is NO WAY I would play anyone shorter than her, and there is no way the devs would make Chucky taller.

Jeepers Creepers: I know nothing about this, other than I have heard the producer had some, shall we say, legal problems that BHVR may not want to be associated with. But never saw the movies nor do I know anything about the story line.

They've been talking about those Bloodlust changes for a very long time actually - long before the review bomb. And the trap buffering was in the game before and was never really that big of a deal.

And getting a cooldown from exhaustion when hooked makes sense to me.

    I think you are overreacting.

That's not what this is about. It's about the fact that survivors got nerfed, review bombed the game and are now gonna get rewarded with buffs in the next patch while killer players have always been acting properly and they are getting nerfed. ######### bs

But as you were told, the blood lust was something they have been talking about a while.

About trap buffering, I challenge you to find 1 review where a survivor asks for this to be brought back.  It just isn't there.  This would be a super limited itemand I can imagine you might see it in 1 out of maybe ten thousand games.

As far as the pallet animation, they needed to fix that.  There was zero reason for my survivor to be forced to turn away from the killer to toss the pallet.  As far as the stuns go, people are just going to, like with the flashlights, learn a new timing.

Don't worry though as more buffs to kiilers and survivors are coming as more nerfs to both groups are coming.  The game is a balancing act and the devs are learning as they go as well.
  • Thank You.  I don't know what happened.  I looked before posting and it was showing the old roadmap.  But I do appreciate the update
  • I appreciate all the answers.  was just curious what everyone thought.
  • In the last Dev livestream they addressed the pallet animation.  part of the problem is when looking at the pallet the game spuns you around and throws it when your back is to the pallet.  Think it was created that way to handle the pallets being dropped as you run through, but it is a little wonky.
  • I hate that you aren't enjoying it as much.  I tell Killers that playing killer is hard, but not to give up.

Playing killer has made me a better survivor and playing survivor, I think, has made me a better killer.

That said I haven't gotten to the red ranks yet, but plan on doing it soon.

I agree with the flashlight portion.  unless you are going to try to sneak back past him use the time to run.  I know that I, personally, will tunnel the flashlight guy until I get him hooked.  By flashlighting me you have guaranteed a hook.
  • I think they want to do more than just buff him, or that was the feeling I had watching the livestream, but they didn't elaborate so anything, other than they are looking into him, is just speculation at this point.
  • Heard they tested the second part and it was abused.
  • They said the problem occured as they added in more people and perks.  Think they said if you currently want every perk at the highest level it would take something like 200 bloodwebs.
  • The devs mentioned in livestream they are aware of the problem.  Now don't quote me on the next part, but I think I read they fixed the problems and that hotfix will be pushed out soon (think they may have even said later today, bit don't recall).

Is there anyone around who saw the livestream and can correct me if I am wrong?

Freddy all the way. At least I don't have to start a chase with the handbrake set on.

Yeah, you don't have to slow down as Freddy, but you still have to wait like 7 seconds -- giving the survivors plenty of time to get to a pallet or window to increase the distance between you -- compared to the couple seconds for Wraith, whom can also get a speedboost after uncloaking with some add-ons.

I agree with @Tsulan on this one.  While the transition period is a pain, I am often right on them when they fall asleep.  Might take 7 seconds to fall asleep, but a lot of times by 8 seco ds they have been hit once.  (most survivors don't drop a pallet until they are fully in dream world, in my experience at the lower ranks)
  • Use EW1 to your benefit.  I often run up and pull someone off a generator before they even realize who the killer is.  I don't start stalking till either I missed that first grab or the second survivor I find

  • No I hate the pig.  Oh wait you mean to play her... yeah she is ok.  Honestly outside of the nurse I love trying all the chars.  I definitely have my favorites, but with the new patch those may change.  (would rank her around 3 to 4 on my favorite to play list)  If it could be more like MM the oh crap factor would be better, but to many times the surprise has been ruined because I started staring at a jigsaw box
  • Oh will join on Discord, but will say no to the rest... not because I don't want to play with you, but until they add cross platform play it will be impossible.  I play Xbox only and have way to many hours to switch now.
